Beautiful restaurant with views of the water fountains!
Beautiful restaurant with views of the water fountains! Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great and the presentations were wonderful. Great cocktails. I had the basil Collin's and it was refreshing. I'd definitely recommend for a date night or girls lunch!
Delicious lunch
Came here while my brother and sister in law were visiting. Our seat was wonderful, sitting by the floor to ceiling windows looking at the fountains. My brother had pasta with lobster, my sister in law had garden risotto and I had lions main meatballs with fried rice. She and I shared the mousse dessert that was shaped like a mushroom - adorable and yummy. The service was wonderful, the only issue was our bar order got lost and didn't show up until after our food arrived. Great food in a beautiful environment.

Our 4:00 pm 1906 reservations were actually canceled by the time we arrived at Longwood Gardens and learned the String Queens outdoor concert was also canceled. We received a text informing us of the cancellations, but proceeded to 1906 to sit for appetizers and cocktails, order our entrees, and then head back to Central PA. John, our server, accommodated us nicely for whatever we chose. We even got to see Natalie, one of our favorite 1906 servers who has been at Longwood for nearly 25 years. With the cancellation of the outdoor String Queens Concert, very few people were in the restaurant. We enjoyed our Appetizers ( Caesar and beet salads) and my Feeling Punchy cocktail, and we took home our Bone-in ribeye steak.

Restaurant 1906 at Longwood
1906 was wonderful. My wife and I dined there for our anniversary. The dining room was beautiful and the service and staff were both excellent. Best of all the food was superb. Our server, John I., was especially friendly, informative and overall conversant about Longwood. We highly recommend.
Everything about 1906 at Longwood Gardens is top notch.
The food, service and ambiance are wonderful. We ordered the tasting menu. It was well balanced and delicious. Our table was at the windows with a view of the fountain show.

Had an exceptional experience at 1906 Fine Dining for my friend's intimate wedding dinner. The space is beautiful, decorated with many plants and flowers. The private room that we had full view of their mushrooms, which was whimsical. Each dish served was perfectly paired together, and they serve an American menu rooted in seasonality, sustainability, and locality, with many of the ingredients grown in their Ornamental Kitchen Garden. Finally, I cannot stop raving about the service. Our servers were extremely attentive, made sure our drinks never ran out, described each dish in detail, and were extremely mindful of the dietary restrictions of the group. Absolutely a great experience to walk through Longwood Gardens before and after dinner.
Refined Surroundings, Disappointing Dishes
We dined here as a party of six, and while the service was absolutely outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional—and the setting was beautiful, unfortunately, the food did not live up to the ambiance or the hospitality. We ordered four different entrées, and all six of us were struck by the same thing: the food was overwhelmingly salty. Each dish seemed to outdo the last in sodium, making them borderline inedible. It wasn’t just one off plate—every single meal was noticeably over-salted. On top of that, the portions were quite small, the menu was limited, and—oddly—no mushroom soup (not bisque), which was one of the few things we were genuinely looking forward to. There are far too many great options in the area, so save yourself the disappointment and eat somewhere else before heading to Longwood Gardens.
Bon Appetite
Beautiful Restaurant! The Drinks were so pretty. The Chef here really took care with presenting and creating these food dishes! Delicious and beautiful using the gardens to incorporate into the dish. Can’t wait to go back!
I had a phenomenal dining experience at 1906.
You should absolutely treat yourself to a meal here if you are spending the day in Longwood Gardens. The dishes are inspired and made by ingredients from the garden. It's delightful, fresh and elevated. We started with the pull-apart brioche with honey butter. This was the most beautiful butter I have ever eaten. Decorated with edible flowers and drizzles of local honey, I could not get enough on each piece of fluffy brioche. We also enjoyed the heirloom tomatoes and chilled summer corn soup. These were both refreshing from the summer heat. We opted for two herbal elixirs to drink. These are a great option if you want something fun and bubbly without alcohol in the middle of the day. For our main dish, we tried the summer risotto trio - a kale, carrot and vegetable risotto sprinkled with cracked pepper and edible flowers. This dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. This is a great addition to the seasonal summer menu. We enjoyed a side of brussel sprouts and grilled watermelon alongside our main. The brussel sprouts were shredded with a hint of lemon that complimented the risotto. The watermelon was paired with a whipped feta and seasoned with dill and tajin. It was a sweet and spicy combination that lightened the meal. You cannot skip dessert here. Their signature caramelia cake is absolutely adorable! The entire mushroom, chocolate rocks and coconut leaves are edible. This is the show stopper of an already incredible dining experience. And if you are looking for something extra sweet, order a scoop of sorbet or gelato to go along with it. I highly recommend dining during one of the daily fountain shows. The music is piped into the restaurant, so you can enjoy the magnificent show while enjoying your meal from inside. Thank you to our server who made sure we had a fantastic view of the show, and gave great menu recommendations.

This is such an incredible dining experience! From the cocktails to lunch to dessert it was all delicious! We even got to watch the fountain show from the window while we ate it was the best of everything! The roasted chicken was amazing, they are very good about helping you navigate food allergies (my family has a lot!) our server was so friendly and attentive and very fast! The entire restaurant is full of gorgeous live floral arrangements! I can't say enough good things about this place I cannot wait to come back!
Surprised to see negative reviews.
This place is amazing. Lots of room for those of us that don't want to make a reservation. You can sit at the bar or at a table in an area designated for walk-ins. The restaurant has amazing views and you can even watch the fountain show from your seat. The drinks and food are amazing. Highly recommend the heirloom martini and the steak tartare (comes out smoking). The servers, bartenders, and staff are all wonderful and very friendly. Highly recommend!
New restaurant is beautiful, plenty of staff running
New restaurant is beautiful, plenty of staff running around, but not very organized. We both ordered drinks. partner was given a mixed drink instead of a glass of wine. They almost did not believe her that they got it wrong. My beer, a local brew, took forever to arrive. Paid $9 for what I call the Longwood pint, about 10-12 oz. I ordered the duck, very expensive for two pieces of meat the size of my thumb, no crispy skin, no sides, for around $39. One piece had grizzle running thru it, not much flavor either. We ordered dessert, I ordered a small ball of sherbet for $9. It arrived with a candle and Happy Birthday. It was not my birthday, so they took it back. Next, they bring TWO dishes of sherbet, each with a candle and Happy Birthday charm. They did comp her wine and the dessert. You cannot dine there without paying full admission to get into the garden, on top of the crazy high prices in this place.
I'm usually a gatekeeper, but feeling generous tonight.
This restaurant continues to deliver wonderful culinary experiences! If you want huge portions, don't come here. If you want exquisitely prepared food with local ingredients, curated wines and splendid views- 1906 will not disappoint. Love this place.
Great service and a great meal
Our experience at 1906 was awesome. Great service and an even better meal! Our server was very informative and helpful from the start. Our meal consisted of items we typically would not be able to order at our local restaurants. Everything was amazing, from drinks to appetizer, and main course to dessert. We'll worth the price.
Lunch at “1906”
I enjoyed my lunch after touring Longwood Gardens. Food is absolutely amazing! And the view of the fountains was just beautiful. Highly recommend! #realtorTatyanaMakarov
Wonderful restaurant
While we were at Longwood, it started raining so we opted to have lunch in their new restaurant. Well worth it and delicious. Much of the produce is grown on site and was fresh; the mushrooms specialty (forgot which kind) are only available at this time of year and were delicious. This is fine dining and a wonderful addition to Longwood.
A Very Nice Dining Experience
The new location is perfect with stunning views of the fountains. The menu is very limited but the food quality is excellent and the prices fair.
Dining Experience at 1906
The decor and the view are beautiful. The food is delicious, however, it is over priced. We ordered the Sea Bass, Ocean Flounder and Lamb. One of us wanted to ordered the 5 course Chef’s Choice for $115. Heads up. The whole table must order it or no one can have it! He truly enjoyed the lamb, so all was well. We waited approximately 1/2 hr for dessert & coffee. The waiter apologized after 20 min. My husband and I ordered the Neapolitan. It was $18. The portion came in a glass. Presentation was ok. Our waiter was ecstatic when we ordered it. So, perhaps we were expecting more. Our friend ordered the dessert that looked like a mushroom. The presentation was unique and she told us that it was really delicious.
Special dining experience
Be sure to make a reservation way ahead! Not to be missed. Beautiful venue w incredible view of the Longwood Fountains. Imaginative, quality food We had a superior server (table L102 on sat may 31) who had a great knowledge of the menu. Her recommendations were excellent. A special dining experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful late afternoon dinner on the patio. It was an extremely hot day but the patio was quite comfortable with plenty of fans running. We both had the green salad which was fresh from their garden and delicious. Then I had the king salmon and my husband had the scallops and shrimp. Both were wonderful. Our server, John, was great and his courtesy and timing were perfect. It was a great date!

An amazing dining experience! I've been wanting to try the mushroom soup for years and boy was it phenomenal. The pasta dish was so flavorful, I have never had ramps and fiddleheads before now and it was such a fun experience tasting these new veggies. Loved the whole experience!
Great ambience and great service.
I love the food there , and most importantly, the person who I dined with.
Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and presented
Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and presented well. Service was exceptional. They were very accommodating of splitting entrees including plating split portions in the kitchen. Seating on the patio in good weather is the way to go.
Mixed Feeling after the Renovation
I have been to 1906 before and the experience there was amazing. However, ever since the refurbishment, I am now questioning if we should go back. Service: The service was, okish. The guy seemed very shy or stressed (or both). It seemed like it was his first week working. Nothing against learning because we all have to start from somewhere, but what wasn’t great was waiting 30+min for appetizers and our little one’s food. Nothing was said about the wait. We saw food coming out to other tables, so we did not know if there was a staffing issue in the kitchen or something. Overall it was not a great experience. Food Option/Quality: The menu changes every season, so we were excited to see what was on the menu this time and what specials they had. The menu size seems to have been cut a decent amount. When we got the food, the portions are definitely much less than before. However, the quality was there for most of the items. The mushroom croquettes were delicious and the crab omelette (yes crab and eggs really work well together. We highly recommend it). However, the kale salad was drenched in so much cheese that I don’t know if it was salad or nachos. The Ahi Tuna also would have benefited from searing the edges after they put the pistachio crust on it. It looked like the pistachio crust was just put on wet. No texture at all.

Fantastic experience! Wonderful food and service for a family birthday celebration! It was a perfect evening!
Some times you eat at a restaurant just for the food.
My wife and I ate at the 1906 for the food and to have a wonderful experience. If you appreciate both on a top tier scale, go to 1906 Fine Dining. The mushroom soup was very good, creamy and filled with flavorful mushrooms. The apex of the meal was the King Salmon. Like a fine wine it fills you with an amazing complexity. I've never had such an experience. Our service was excellent. Our needs were met and surpassed. When we had consumed our spring hors d'oeuvres for two, ( which was both tasty and an art form) I wondered what happened to the ice tea. A staff member apologized for the tardiness, but the first tea brewed was not up to their standards, and they had to start again. What an excellent example of superior service!

The good Ambiance The bread The bad The food The heaters Preparation of the food The price of the meal The ambiance was good, however it was freezing today on the patio. There are heaters but they were not ample to keep all the tables warm. Someone that left at the table next to us offered blankets to keep us warm. We ordered the 6 cheese plate. The cheese was good, however the accompaniments were lacking. I wish there were items like pickles and more than 1 jam. Instead it was some crostini, and wafer crackers, a fig and some grapes. The ginger cocktail that was ordered was too sweet and wasn't balanced at all. The food that was ordered was the king salmon and the flat iron steak. The king salmon, whoever prepped it didn't take out all the bones and 3 bones were found in the filet. The flat iron, was three pieces of steak and the rest was salad. It was very misleading from the menu, the server even said, "and you got the salad?" The mushroom side that was ordered was okay, however it could've used some acid to balance out the heavy sauce on the bottom. The kids enjoyed their mac and cheese and chicken tenders.. those seem to be items from the cafe which has always been good for the value. We ordered the flower pot desert, as stated all of it was edible, but I don't know how much thought was put into the balancing of edible flowers which, you could eat... however didn't pair well with the pot. Approx 250 dollars spent after tip and I was very disappointed, I believe my family will continue eating at the cafe vs the restaurant. Ps, we told the server about the bones of the salmon, however no apologies or compensation was offered.
This may have been the best dining experience of my adult
This may have been the best dining experience of my adult life. Despite being sold lout during our seating, the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu offered a number of truly unique dishes, including bread in a flower pot to start. The meals exceeded our expectations; every bite was delicious. But, by far, the chocolate flower pot was a culinary masterpiece that would have elevated the entire experience to five stars even if the rest of the meal was lacking. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Wonderful Dinner and Evening
Wonderful night. We went to Longwood for the Christmas lights but planned to have dinner first. It rained buckets that evening, and we spent most of our evening in the restaurant. They were very gracious. We were never hurried. We enjoyed the food and drink. We closed the place and still were not push out. They were so nice.

Great staff, really attentive and make sure you have a great experience. The bread is life changingly good, it's silly to be that excited about bread but honestly that alone is worth the visit. I will say the frites were nothing exciting but the mushroom soup and the short rib were amazing.
A must if you visit Longwood
If you're visiting Longwood Gardens, this is a not to be missed food option. We always enjoy it here, and this visit was no exception. Mindy was a superb server, and the table provided by Beth was perfect. Originally thought we'd be in the heated tent area, but instead scored a nice inside corner booth type seat. We loved the two soups; mushroom is of course a favorite, and we also now rave about the duck ragu pasta option (not just shredded but large pieces of tasty duck). The pork chop was also perfectly cooked , full of flavor (perhaps a bit fatty), but with wonderful carrots. Passed on dessert, but that was painful. They looked great too!

The mushroom soup is amazing! The mushroom shaped bread and truffle salted butter is to die for! The ceaser salad was too anchovyish. We had the scallops and duck Ragu and both were delicious. The service and atmosphere were excellent. Very professional and pleasant service from everyone.
Very good experience
My family and I had dinner at 1906 on December 26, before touring the gardens . We ate in their covered tent, which was comfortable and quiet. The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Interesting meals but disappointing
There are lots of "cute" sides and dishes which keep this place busy. The rolls are served in a clay pot. The rolls are definitely a hit and they taste great. The other hit is the deserts. The main courses are not very good and any items are just too heavy for a lunch menu. My filet, at $65, was probably the worst I ever had. Ordered medium, it arrived just about well done. The steak was dried out and cold. The sauce and mash potatoes were good. In the winter, the tented seating area is very cold at lunch. Literally, 2 of our guest had to each with jackets on. Overall a disappointment.
Delicious food, excellent service, cozy ambiance.
I appreciate their attention to details, from napkin holder to cake decor. I'm very pleased as always. This time I especially appreciate that their featured wine is donating to honey bee research. I cannot recommend this place enough!
This is a wonderful dining experience at Longwood Gardens.
Everything was delicious. The flower pot dessert was pretty and a delight.
Great night out
We had such a great dinner and such a terrific server. My main dish wasn’t quite as good as I thought it would be but didn’t take away from the night at all. Would definitely return!
We had an excellent meal.
We do not dine in restaurants often. Between crowded atmosphere and rumors of poor service across the hospitality industry post pandemic we just don't. I am so glad we did this time. We were there on a very rainy weeknight and the restaurant was half full at best which is how we like it. This is an upper scale place. We normally opt for the cafeteria which is consistently good or the beer garden which we have had mixed experiences with. First atmosphere. The inside has a nice updated look. We actually were outside on the terrace in a heated tent. Lots of fairy lights and Christmas trees for the season. Even on this cold, rainy night we were very comfortable. All the tables had fresh flower arrangements, which were beautiful but I would expect nothing less from a public garden. This is the type of place where you have multiple servers and they were all very attentive and worked together well. Water was refilled, plates were taken, new silverware placed all quickly and without prompting. Now the most important part the food. Complimentary brioche bread was served in mini flower pots - so cute. I ordered the mushroom soup as I have had it many times before and it is excellent. One of my favorites. Delicious as always. We ordered truffle gnocchi, salmon, and the pork chop. All was served hot and fresh with beautiful presentation. We all loved our food. Then we saved room for dessert. Desserts were between $12-15 if memory serves, and I was expecting a very small portion but excellent presentation as is typical in higher end restaurants. Imagine my surprise when a very large tiramisu was served in the form of a log with a gnome. (I love gnomes.) Fresh flowers added a lovely touch. My daughter got the flower pot. Everything you see is edible including the pot. My husband ordered the cheesecake. It was all delicious. Amazing experience. 10/10. Highly recommend
Wonderful experience
Beautiful, enjoyable gardens and excellent lunch at restaurant 1906. Look forward to going again during another season. Strongly recommend..
Gourmet food
Exquisite food. Great combination of flavors. Good size portions. Upscale service and pleasant atmosphere. Will go back again.
Excellent restsurant
Excellent food. The mushroom soup was flavourful. The trout was tasty. My compliments to the chefs. The bread comes in a pot as if it grew there. Love the presentation!!!
A must place to eat if visiting the Gardens
Delicious lunch on the covered deck facing the woods. Everything was very thoughtful from the brioches cooked in a clay flower pot to the beautiful edible desserts in an edible flower pot. We had beet salad, pea soup, chicken, trout and the raspberry lemon dessert. Nothing to complain about I would recommend outdoor seating. The decor of the dining room was nondescript. Nothing offensive but nondescript but outdoors was almost like being in the woods
