One of my favorite spots in New York Soho the food is always perfect their fennel appetizer is beyond The pasta are fresh and delicious and you come in happy and out dancing This was a lunch date granted I had a glass of champagne but every time I feel so happy
Be the first to ReplyA bit akward service, but food is excellent
Stopped by for lunch one day. Service is for a lcak of a better word a bit weird. Not much talking and staff might seem distant imo. BUT....food was incredible and we got great wine and drinks. Worth a visit for sure.

I called three weeks in advance for a specific table for four and didn’t get it. No big deal. Understandable. Ordered drinks. We all got the wrong drink order, twice. Asked for ice, five times before it came. Ordered bread and Ricotta, which never came. Ordered four entrees, got three. But they were nice enough to bring the fourth 10 minutes later. The entree was Cod with a Hollandaise sauce. They couldn’t put the Hollandaise on the side, “the chef simply won’t allow it. I can’t even ask, he’ll say no.” There’s a Trader Joe’s across the street, get a microwaveable meal, go home and watch a movie. A more pleasurable experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Ambience!
Went here with my Daughters who live in the area and I was staying at the Dominick Hotel around the corner. The food was excellent, the drinks fantastic and a nice ambience that is not too loud. So many of the restaurants have too much noise and music- but this was perfect!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing, and Do Not Recommend
This was an OK restaurant. Fennel salad was good, and bread was good. Pasta was really lacking in taste. The service was great until we got some chick with an attitude delivering our drinks. WOW was she rude! Nobody at the table could believe her.

I only had a drink, curbside, at this venue. I did not order food. This venue is an excellent place to people watch.
Be the first to ReplyDidn't Like Burger
I heard they have a great burger but they put blue cheese on it which I do not like and I think it ruined the burger. But burger was so greasy and oily, too which I never can understand how anyone can eat with grease dripping while you eat it. The beef patty was supposed to be Wagyu but it just started to come apart, there was no consistency. It's served with a pretzel bun which it's just weird. Different doesn't make it better. I'm thinking their Italian dishes might be better but I'm just judging from the free bread with olive oil and cheese which were pretty good.
Be the first to ReplyReally Good Italian food in NY
We went to Altro Paradiso on advice from my son and it didn't disappoint , to begin with the staff were super friendly and service was very good. We had the antipasti , highly recommended , capellini al limone and the rigatoni, both were done al dente as it should be As this was our anniversary the surprised Us with a chocolate cake !! Nice touch Will return next time in Soho
Be the first to ReplyHair in linguine
First bite of pasta included a long hair. This happens, but the staff's response was disappointing. It took 20+ minutes for them to replace the dish, by which time my family had finished their entrees. Totally disrupted the flow of our evening. We had ordered expensive wine; they brought a second bottle and, as I discovered when the check arrived, charged us full price. We would've like the restaurant except for the hair and the staff's response. Nothing was offered to compensate except not charging for the linguine.
Be the first to ReplyA superb Italian choice in Soho
I am descended from Italian immigrants, been to Italy many times, am in NYC all the time - this was as good an Italian experience as I’ve had here. I cannot fathom other than price why other reviews are less than five stars.
The creativity of the chef combining ingredients from different parts of Italy worked extremely well - the suppli we had were the best I ever had spiced by peppers from Calabrian etc. Every appetizer - the tuna tartar; the polenta with honey and pecorino; the prosciutto - were all beautifully prepared and presented, the ingredients clearly world class. The pastas were perfect - both in texture but combination of ingredients in often very simple ways.
The team could not have been more warm, instructive and helpful overall. The wine woman was a hoot - with tremendous energy, humor and experience and chose unusual and superb wines speaking with our preferences.
Nice spot
A really nice spot to enjoy really good food.
The service was great!
You need to order the pesto, the arancini and the prosciutto, those were my favorites.
Barolo + Pasta + Chocolate Torta= Heaven
I have been to Altro Paradiso about six times. I love their pasta al Limone and 'nduja pasta. Such an exquisite plate. Perfect with a glass of Barolo. The cocktail offering needs some editing; cocktails are not their forte. The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is a perfect balance between cool and sophisticated. I wished they had pasta cooking classes or wine tasting sessions. I have brought my close friends too and they were impressed. I would really like to meet the chef.
Be the first to ReplyVery good Italian-themed eatery with quick service
Cafe Altro Paradiso is a very good Italian-themed eatery, with quick service during the weekday lunch I visited. Located near both the Color Factory and NYC Firefighting Museum, I had a decent lentil soup and then arugula salad with panna cotta for dessert. All were tasty.
Be the first to ReplyAverage meal. Nothing great, underwhelming.
Lunch was just average. I expected a great Cacio e pepe but was very much underwhelmed to be honest. Average and don’t plan on revisiting. Picture looks much better than the meal was.
Be the first to ReplySolid Italian Food
Experience is best when your table shares a bunch of plates family style. Group of three ordered:
-arancini
-fennel salad
-the burger
-cacio e pepe
-strozzapreti all'amatriciana
everything was really, really good. I would highly recommend all the dishes our table ordered. the arancini was crisp on the outside and cheesy & gooey on the inside. Altro Paradiso is known for their fennel salad and it absolutely did not disappoint. Very interesting flavor and a pretty subtle dressing. the burger was easily one of the best burgers I've had in the city. melt in your mouth onions, juicy beef, fluffy bun, etc. the pastas were good, but probably comparable to other italitan restaurants at this price point. portions were on the smaller side.
very good brunch
good and quiet place to have a brunch or dinner and talk brunch menu is small but have a couple of things to choose from
good place in soho
