Amara at Paraiso Miami Reviews from The Last Year
Met up with friends for dinner last night.
While the ambiance was great and the service attentive, we were disappointed with the food. All the appetizers we ordered were tasty, but our main meat dishes, like the short ribs and skirt steak, were overcooked and tasted burnt. Our friends had similar experiences with their meat dishes. Additionally, be prepared for unexpected fees not mentioned upfront. Sadly, we won't be returning or recommending this place.

I have been in this restaurant before and the food was good- no excellent but good. Now I have news to report, the best think about this restaurant is the view! The food was very disappointing, the arroz verde was burned, la parrillada was over cooked and for $105 dollars the portion was a joke. This place is overpriced and overrated. The service is okay, but the main thing should the food, and the food is a solid zero!
Unprofessional and shady business.
I left an item there and have spent the last week trying to get ahold of them to retrieve it. They don't answer the phone, email, and after resorting to instagram DMs they stopped answering me. What kind of place is this?
This place is appalling if I could give it no stars I would
This place is appalling if I could give it no stars I would don't get me wrong they have great service and the atmosphere is nice but the food in itself is not it, I could get better food anywhere in Hialeah and it would taste better than this the meat empanadas were gross overly seasoned, the yucca bites taste like nothing and the skirt steak well let's just say I could make a wayyyy better steak or even get one in el polo Norte and it'll taste wayyyyy better I don't mind paying money for food if it's worth but in terms of the food in Amara TERRIBLE needless to say they will not be seeing me back there again!!

Firstly, I didn't eat here I only had a drink so you can skip this if you're interested in food info. With that in mind I'm giving 5 stars and it's really just based on what I was able to judge. We arrived on a Friday in March at around 6:30. We wanted to do happy hour and the place is big but the bar is small so there was no space to be comfortable and enjoy drinks so we basically said F it and got a table. They wouldn't offer us happy hour prices with service at the table even with this in mind so I certainly wish we were welcomed with more flexibility but we weren't. There were plenty of tables available outside. Outside has a gorgeous view of the Miami skyline and a bridge. It was a nice looking spot for sure. I can't believe that I was about to pay $32 for one coconut drink but here is where I found myself. Well dammit. That coconut drink was gaaaaaaaas. It was delicious. I now want to put cinnamon in all of my piña coladas. But that wasn't the only thing that made it good. It had pebble ice, was silky smooth, fresh and delicious. A "refresh" costs $20 and we almost got one too! They were damn delicious. I would come back and have the same experience again. Pricey but tasty.
I had the misfortune of experiencing the worst service ever
I had the misfortune of experiencing the worst service ever in Miami. From the start, the staff treated us like a burden, sending a message that our table was ready when it wasn't. Our server barely gave us attention, and it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. To add insult to injury, despite paying for the 2-hour bottomless rose service, we only received two glasses per person, and when we requested more, they refused, citing the end of brunch service. Extremely disappointing!
Some of the best seafood I've had!! Wow everything just
Some of the best seafood I've had!! Wow everything just melted in my mouth. We got the fish dip, which at first I was a bit hesitant about but when I tried it I couldn't stop eating it! Everything was so good! Highly recommend coming here. We came during happy hour and wanted to sit outside by the water only to realize that they only do happy hour inside by the bar. We chose to sit outside and not do happy hour since it was so nice outside. Our server was so sweet too! We were originally sitting under the patio but later wanted to move closer to the water and she let us move there. Highly recommend coming here!!
Food is always delicious and service is great.
Great views of the bay as well. Recommend getting the pre set menu as it comes with 3 courses!
This place needs to step it up
The water view here is spectacular. Reserve for sunset and then watch the moon come out and sparkle on the bay. Unfortunately the price is truly high and the food is average at best. We had tasty fish dip with tostones and some dry yucca balls as appetizers. The server Faran was friendly and great. Our entrees took a long time to come out but it's a very pleasant place to sit around, so we didn't care. However, our entrees were disappointing. The catch of the day was a mushy filet on top of mushed-up yucca, not a great combo. The pork chop Milanese was too dry. The short rib dish was good enough but it was $59! The half chicken was just ok. We passed on dessert at this point; we were already at almost $400 for four of us with only one drink apiece (skip the Inca Spritz, which is more like soda pop). Considering this restaurant is part of Michael's Genuine in the Design District, which is reliably delicious, there seems to be no reason this restaurant is not equally good. It has one of the rarest views in Miami. This could be a gem. But it's not.
Nice spot on the water but the food didn't blow me away at
Nice spot on the water but the food didn't blow me away at all. Steak was undercooked and chewy and the lobster didn't have much flavor. Prawns were my favorite.
The food is always fabulous here no matter what you order.
My husband and I went for my birthday recently and made a reservation around sunset which is always beautiful as this location overlooks the bay. The service was impeccable! I must warn you, this place is not cheap but well worth it for a special occasion. Our drinks were also tasty and well prepared. It's definitely our go to restaurant for special celebrations. You won't be disappointed!
Amara is located in Edgewater with gorgeous waterfront
Amara is located in Edgewater with gorgeous waterfront views, but knowing Miami be careful the time of day when you make that reservation to not get rained out. The service team at Amara was great and they were super attentive to our large-ish party. They brought drinks out quickly and were always around if we needed anything. Like any great table - we all shared the dished so I got to try a little of everything. The ceviche was great - not too salty and the fish was very fresh, I personally would have loved some more onions for that extra crunch and sweetness. The short rib empanadas just WOW! The filling is stunning and the meat is so nice and tender and well flavored and the empanada dough is light. Just a really amazing empanada. We also got the seafood parillada and the fish were cooked well but at a steep $170 I can't convince myself that it was worth all that. The arroz verde was great and the veggies were flavorful and was a light and refreshing dish, and the romanesco and egg brought a creaminess to it. The grilled cauliflower was really great, I just wish there was a little more acid to the sauce as it really bordered the line of too sweet. Overall Amara is a stunning restaurant with great views and good food.- with the empanada taking the MVP award. Note: they do valet for a fee but you can find street parking in this residential area (good luck)
Just above average food with below average service.
A hidden restaurant with just above average food and with below average service. Beautiful property with a nice ambiance.
Bad experience from start to finish.
Bad experience from start to finish. Humorless hosts After choosing the main dish (20 min), we were informed that it was not available. After choosing new dishes, the octopus arrived cold and hard. There was still a delay in the drink I chose I do not recommend
Brunch at Amara at Paraiso was a fine experience overall.
The staff welcomed our group with warmth and were incredibly helpful, especially with the limited menu options. While the food received a modest 6.8 out of 10 rating from our group, the spectacular view more than made up for it. The ambiance would have been enhanced with some light music outdoors, adding to the already inviting atmosphere. Additionally, it's worth noting that any suburban vehicle is considered oversized and may incur an upcharge at valet. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the stunning view alone makes it worth a visit.
Okay so I went here to meet up with a friend I haven't seen
Okay so I went here to meet up with a friend I haven't seen in a million years ! He picked it out and I walked in like """ ohhhhhhh snapppppp this is nice " and I was super geeked! Our waiter was amazing ! I wish I could remember her name but she was super new and just a doll. Fast forward the food was amazing and I can't find my pictures but the OYSTERS are a must ! The lemon drop def a must ! Old fashion highly recommend ... but the show stopper was the PRAWNS !! Spicy AF! Soooooo if you have a low spice tolerance don't even think about it . Honorable mention would be the cool cauliflower!
Sadly average
This restaurant came highly recommended as somewhere in Miami that offered a Latin American experience with a waterfront location. We had high hopes but were sadly disappointed and wouldn’t return or recommend. Overcrowded bar - although drinks very good - and slow to be seated. Lots of groups waiting to be seated, so we weren’t alone. Table service is attentive and the place is very busy. But sadly the food didn’t live up to the hype, it was piping hot but lacked flavour which is surprising because even the salads had too much salt on.

Really enjoyed are recent great experiences here, thanks in large part due to the fantastic hospitality from Marissa and Tasha - both who are amazing! Love the Jalisco by Night (great tequila cocktail), the Albarino wine, the fish dip is delicious and great shrimp and oysters. View/seating on the bay is awesome and the happy hour is fantastic.

I came in for my birthday made reservations for 3 pm, upon arrival we were told they close for an hour at 3 which is strange that you are allowed to make a reservation at such a time. Thankfully the server was amazing and worked with us to place orders quickly to ensure we were able to eat. The variety of dishes were not many we were disappointed in that and very pricey for the short menu and substitutions allowed. I think this is a great place to visit for drinks and pictures of the view but not dinning place for foodies, I my opinion.
Poor food, overpriced,nice setting.
Although a beautiful setting outside on the intercoastal, clearly there were not enough staff. Service extremely slow. Food was poor. Burgers burnt and ran out of buns. Fish of day oily and tasteless. Seafood tower might better be called a mini tower and way overpriced. Couldn't get a second glass of wine in time to finish eating. Overall, nice setting, poor and overpriced food.
Was recommended by a ton of websites and thought we would
Was recommended by a ton of websites and thought we would try as visitors. The ambiance and design was amazing and right by the bay. Get an outdoor table to overlook the water. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience that lasted 3 hours. Server forgot one of the drinks for nearly 30 minutes even though we asked about it after a while of waiting. He took one of our drinks when it was half full and had to catch him before taking it away. One of us asked for a side sauce twice when our appetizers came out, and it did not show up until The entrees came out after an hour and a half. One of our sides was missing and when asked about, he said he "didn't know" and it would be out in 5 minutes. He then told us he could not split the check between 2 couples and double charged us for the drink he forgot. We got the manager involved because at that point we were kind of upset and after 20 more minutes, she said she would comp the one side and the drink he forgot and double charged us for. Turns out we were only credited back one drink. Very disappointed in the whole situation and maybe it was just that specific server, but definitely never coming back:/ Update: we also ended up with food poisoning shortly after
Ambience & Aesthetics 5/5 Menu Item Quality 3/5 Overall
Ambience & Aesthetics 5/5 Menu Item Quality 3/5 Overall Service Experience 3/5 Neat Clean & Ordelry 5/5 So here's why... The view is outstanding! The moment you step through the front the door you are hit with what seems like immediate access to the Miami skyline. Nothing I type here can describe it. The outdoor seating is really the only way to go if weather permits and tonight was warm and perfect. The crushed shells on the ground and the patio furniture made this outdoor space so cozy and welcoming. Also, tables were spaced out nicely which is hard to come by lately. I made sure to consider the servers recommendations because usually they're in line with the best the restaurant has to offer. Among our favorites were the Smoked Fish Dip, No-Proof Bullet Proof and my nonalcoholic Piña Colada which came in a fresh coconut (on the rocks, not frozen). IF I were to revisit I would definitely order differently. The yuca cheese puffs were delicious as well, however they were basically akin to Brazilian pan de bono, nice and cheesy. The prawns were a let down making me immediately regret not getting the grouper ceviche which I was debating. The prawns were well seasoned, but were served on a slaw that looks like it came out of a fresh express bag from the grocery. Not worth the $$. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were anything but. If you decide to try these definitely ask for the sauce on the side. Even reheated at home they're unredeemable. The swordfish was just ok, and the mashed yuca was the consistency of paste..., so yea. Once the fish dip was gone and our drinks were finished we were slowly deflated. The service was good, but two things in particular stood out in a negative way. Once we approached the host stand and gave the name for the reservation, we stood waiting. After a few minutes to a hostess who had not acknowledged us began walking away with two menus in her hand at which point we just looked at each other LOL. The manager, still at the host stand had to ask us to follow the hostess who had not turned around to notice that nobody was following her, bizarre. The second issue was... I believe the server only suggested the prawns to me because they were a little more costly than the ceviche. Not the end of the world and I get it, your check average determines your top most of the time. However, when he approached the table with the card reader to settle the check, he stated that in order the split the bill he would need to add an automatic 20% gratuity. Whether this was his hustle or the restaurants, I didn't appreciate it at all. Aside from the usual outdoor seating issue of an occasional fly, the place was pretty well maintained and the restrooms were super clean, especially for a busy Saturday night. The server was vigilant about clearing and removing crumbs, replacing plates and silverware and refilling water himself. I hope this review helps!
Amara at Paraíso is a must stop when in the Miami! We came
Amara at Paraíso is a must stop when in the Miami! We came here for a celebratory dinner for a bachelorette party and had a fantastic night. We sat outside on a beautiful night with amazing views of the bay. The service and food were 5 stars! We decided to split several appetizers and an entree among our group of 5. We started with a dozen oyster, smoked fish dip (not included in pictures but my favorite of the night ), empanadas, and tuna crudo. We ordered the fresh catch, seafood parillada and Brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious! It was a great experience and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Miami!
Do not valet park
Great restaurant but lousy valet parking. Broke door handle and did have the decency to mention it nor provide the missing part.
Bad experience
2 hours delay to bring the food, bad experience. The food was not good They did nothing to improve our dinner.
Price is high quality is poor.
More expensive than Cipriani for a 5th of the quality & zero alcohol! Lamb was cold, chicken was tough and dry. We had no desserts or alcohol & the cost was astronomical, happy to pay it when the quality is reflected but sadly this place was a huge disappointment!
Good group dinner
Large group so a fixed menu unfortunately. What we had was very good. Outdoor seating was too warm to be comfortable. Overall service was good and the group had a very positive experience.
A Very Nice Restaurant
This is a very nice restaurant with a wonderful view allowing to dress up for the evening. All the staff were attentive, professional and very happy. This is not a cheap restaurant, we were 6 and the bill was just shy of $1000.00 but the food was great. A very nice restaurant for a special occasion, like a family trip. Would recommend you visit when in Miami.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
