Loved this late lunch we shared on a fleeting sunny wintery day. Service is excellent. We sat out on the covered patio. Smoked whitefish salad w rye crisps - easily my favorite Popover w jam - ok Bucatini - tasty Specialino spritz (cappelletti and Prosecco) - nice Overall the experience was pleasant and the heaters kept us warm.

I don't like leaving negative reviews but there was something wrong for sure on Saturday night for an early reservation at 5:30. I can't understand when half the place was so empty that early they went to seat us at the smallest coldest table by the front door. After our No in unison the quickly moved us to a table opposite the bar. The noise was like being at the Super Bowl for two hours. Just deafening. I have never shouted more throughout a dinner. And then the server was just awful. He never told us there was specials which we learned after we ordered, he never brought us bread, and the funniest thing was after we paid our bill and about to stand he totally forgot and asked us if we wanted to order desert. It was like a scene out of a movie. The pastas were just ok. Not very big portions and overall I would recommend folks try any of the 1000 better restaurants in the area.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service and a romantic atmosphere.
We had the mixed chicories salad, the Camembert, baguette & Cherry gastrique and the sea bass. Each selection was amazing and the service was outstanding.

On the corner of 11th. St. & Hudson St. So Good ! If you want to go out with your significant other for a dinner date, this is the place. For a few dollars more you get atmosphere, friendly & inviting hostess's/ well groomed & versed waiter service. They have a delicious juicy vintage steak that's huge & super tasty like no other in the west village & it's served on a hot plate with the tastiest fresh water cress ( giant sized ) & super delicious also, a side of fresh made mash in olive oil & a giant bay leaf, yummy. I like to have their arugula salad before / sprinkles of olive oil & a finely graded grana padana covering the salad, "the best". Manager is friendly & observant & comes up to you out of nowhere with a big smile & a big welcome. Sometimes with a complimentary sample or side, a real gentlemen ! Make this place your dining alternative to "home sweet home" it's easy to do at Anton's

Favorite spot of the girls weekend because it felt those most cozy and neighborhoody of all the restaurants we visited. Great waitress who helped us narrow down choices. Not best popover I've ever had but good. Nova plate and Brussels salad great shares. Perfect for pre Whitney dining
Be the first to ReplyCame here for lunch as I had a meeting in the area.
We didn't have a reservation, but they accommodated the two of us. The place was relatively empty at 1230 but filled up by 1. The service was excellent - experienced waitstaff and busboys and they were attentive and friendly. The food is generally Italian I think (they are known for their pasta dishes) but there are some other unusual options on the menu as well, some of it seasonal it seems. We had the whitefish app because it seemed odd to see it on the menu. We loved it. So favorful and the rye toasts were perfect. I had the pasta with mutton ragu for lunch and it was perfectly seasoned and a filling comfort food for a cold day. The location is right off of Bleeker in a fantastic neighborly part of the West Village that is great for walking, especially at night. Room is warm and inviting and full of light - great place for a work meal or a date.
Be the first to ReplyTried out Anton's for brunch.
Service from the host was super not friendly, making us feel uncomfortable for showing up a bit early for our reservation and offering no greeting. Weird start to the meal, but eventually they sat us. Ambiance is cute though - dark wood, big windows, large bar. We were excited to try their famous martinis-went with an espresso martini and a classic. Had to go with a famous popover to start as well as the shared Bucatini Baczynsky, spicy but delish! Brunch entrees ranged from the classic omelette, to the roast beef sandwich to the ravioli. Everyone really enjoyed their food and were almost too stuffed to try the cheesecake for dessert. Almost! Despite the weird host, our waiter was great, making great food recommendations and offering extra bread we could dip in the leftover sauce of our food when we were nearly done eating! Would recommend this place for some classic brunch!
Be the first to ReplyCame here late night for drinks and small bar bites.
I liked the ambiance. For drink, I tried the Walnut Boheme and really liked it, smooth. For the bite, we tried this really nice appetizer like food, Foie gras! Worth the try

I was between 3 and 4 stars for this place, as the steak was good but saltiness was over the flavor of it, service was okay just wasn't sure who was my server because there were 3 of them changing, also not sure if I would recommend this place as I think there's better steak places or Italian restaurants out there.

Friendly, helpful service with terrific food in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. I'll be back for sure!
Be the first to ReplyService was good and so was the ambience.
But the pork chop was half raw, the veg with the sea bass was overly salty. The steak was ok but it came with parsley as vegetable?

A friend of mine really wanted to try Anton's after my first visit so I came back here with two friends, this time on a Friday night for a 6:30pm reservation (kind of early). I was the first one there, so they sat me at the bar in the meantime to have a drink and then once everyone got there they moved us immediately to our table. I got the same waiter (super curly haired gentleman) and he's honestly the best. We ordered a ton of stuff and he told us the best timed way to eat it and was right. We got the Camembert and cherries (repeat), the aubergine with burnt sourdough (repeat), oysters, angel hair francese, the truffle ravioli, the ribeye with whipped potatoes, and the apple pie. They also had the somm help us pick a wine and it was some domestic red I forget but was good -- Rustique, a lil wild and medium body around $115 for the bottle. The repeat reviews are on the previous post and still hold strong. Oysters delicious. Angel hair francese 5/5 wish I had more, the ravioli wasn't bad but I think bc I was enjoying the francese so much it overshadowed so giving ravioli 4/5, the ribeye and mashed potatoes 1000/5 - better than some steakhouses, and apple pie my friends gave a 5/5 - I don't like sweets too much but was still yummy to me. The place got more packed as we were there, super cozy and cute. Still would come back again, and I rarely repeat restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyI went here twice before and the service was great.
However l, it was a cold NYC Saturday evening and I didn't make any reservations. The service attendant added my name to the wait list and I was told that I will be contacted when a table becomes available. I've never received any notification of a table opening from 6 PM that evening. They really dropped the ball on that one. Poor customer service!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good.
Didn't blow me away. The salad (can't remember which) was extremely good. What lost me the most was the espresso martini that tasted likeOranges...they said it was an "orange expression" and it had a few blueberries in the bottom of it. The waiter seemed shocked that I was shocked and said they did have a regular one too I could have ordered (??). I'd recommend giving people the option bc it was truly disgusting :(
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I stopped into Anton's on a gloomy Wednesday
My friends and I stopped into Anton's on a gloomy Wednesday for dinner. Even for mid-week, the place was bustling! We were seated as soon as our party arrived and looked over the menu. For drinks we all ordered off of the cocktail menu, which has an array of classic and unique drinks. The food menu is also filled with a nice combination of classic dishes and twists on classics. For dinner, we all shared the San Marco salad and I personally went with the Bucatini Baczynsky. Drinks were excellent and the salad was a nice starter. I enjoyed the Bucatini as well. I can't say I'd order it again, as it was a little spicy and messy to eat, but I enjoyed trying something different!Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and gave us some great recommendations. Ambiance is ok, nothing terribly unique about the interior. The space is pretty small, so it gets loud when it's full. Overall, Anton's is a solid Italian spot. Food, drinks, and service all made for a pleasant experience!

I walk by this stop almost daily and decided to drop in for a Saturday lunch with some friends. I will say the food was shockingly better than I expected and my whole table was satisfied with their dishes. Easily could see myself coming back for any occasion especially with their extensive menu. Need to know: walk ins welcome, both inside and outside seating are pleasantMust order: homemade pasta
Be the first to ReplyI really loved Frankie's.
I wanted to love this place and almost did. Food was a 4. People a 3. Price a 1. And unfortunately sitting outside for a picnic is a zero. So I just realized that NYC restaurants are just too expensive on a more regular basis than they used to be. Sure inflation but also part asshole like. Not unique to Antons but still. What gets me is you don't get a discount sitting next to the rats outdoors. Somehow should be cheaper to sit in the eco horror heated greenhouse or whatever they built. Also the young people. Why so fucking loud? So not Frankie's but I do really want to like you.

Had the bucatini bacynsky and the eggplant starter and they were both delicious! I also had a special cocktail but it was forgettable. Sit outside--the view was beautiful! Overall, great food and nice service but a bit overpriced.

Such a good place, it's super popular always as it deserves to be. The food is yummy and the service is superb. Any meal is good there. M and I particularly love seating at a bar for a spontaneous bite. Guaranteed a good time. Or it's fabulous to land on one of Dennis' tables, always a pleasant yummy time as well.
