MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS OR YOU GET FINED - £120 GONE FOR NOTHING
We used to go here a lot when we lived in London. 10 years of having nice meals although expensive. Being back in London we booked for old times sake however my wife was very unwell at the last minute and I had to cancel. I was charged £120 for my cancellation. I called and spoke to a very rude man who enforced the fact that they will not refund my money and that’s final. All gone. He reminded me many times that these were the terms and conditions. Truly horrible end to our trip to London and we will never go back. You can keep the overpriced Italian food - there are better options anyway.

Stunning food authentic, high quality and beautifully prepare and lovely service but pretty pricey...
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian I’ve ever had in London
If this is not the best Italian restaurant in London then I’d love to see the best one. I do note it is not cheap but it’s worth every pound . Service - choice of dishes - quality of the food - cosy ambience are all faultless.

My favourite Italian in london. Outstanding food and great service. Tuna tartare is amazing and always a great selection of specials. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyOvercooked and overpriced
pleasant restaurant and friendly staff. My wife and I had the veal chop. Generous portion but overcooked ! We complained but the waiter said it was cooked medium. He had not asked how we wanted it cooked. We had expected a high quality restaurant to cook veal rose. The veal was £39.90 each excluding vegetables + 12'5% service. Will not go there again !

We ate here today - late lunch for Valentine’s Day. We haven’t been here for such a long time and had wondered what it would be like. We were warmly greeted and the service throughout the meal was excellent. All the food we had was delicious. The crab salad and the pear with pecorino as starters both lovely. The Fritto Misto excellent and the pan a Cotta just divine. Yes it’s not cheap but the quality is excellent and it’s a lovely laid back restaurant with great service.

Superb. Understated cooking with excellent ingredients. Welcoming service in a lovely space. Contrary to what I’d been told, they do have air conditioning.
Be the first to ReplyNothing special
Expected highest quality at the crazy prices but many other establishments serve similar at a fraction of the cost. Probably having to recoup rent in this ultra expensive location

Beautiful Restaurant. We went there, not having been since the Pandemic. The staff remembered us, the service was so good and the food excellent.
Be the first to ReplyBest Italian Food anywhere!
Had a fantastic evening here last night with 2 sets of London friends - all of whom eat at lots of fancy, and expensive restaurants every week, but proclaim this to be their favourite. Food was off the scale gorgeous, cost high - but what do you expect from a restaurant situated on one of the most expensive streets on England - value, worth every penny!
Don't come here if you're looking for cheap food; do come here if you're looking for the mist fabulous Italian cooking in a wonderfully understated environment.
Hidden Gem!
I see some of the so-so reviews on here and I don't think they were at the same place I went...The owner/chef is taking your order and talking to everyone. The space is small - 10 or so tables. The food was impeccable as was the service. I will add this to the top of my list of places to eat while in London.
Be the first to ReplyOkay food but so overpriced
Established restaurant with decent enough food but very overpriced. Can easily find more satisfying alternatives
Be the first to ReplyCozy restaurant, good food, expensive
Recently refurbished. Nice atmosphere. Feels like a bigger living room. Food is good but a little overpriced. Service was excellent, but this wasn't difficult, as we were the only guests in the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyA piece of Italy in Notting hill
I have been going to Assaggi for the past 30 years. Well more in the last 10 than all of the previous 20. Assaggi was one of those restaurants you could never get a table at. Acclaimed by all the major restaurant critics. Rumoured to also be one of Diana’s fave spots too. This small first floor room has a beautiful history and a legacy all of its own. The all Italian worded menu, the efficient helpful can’t do enough for you staff. It’s just a beautiful piece of Italy in Notting hill.
I have eaten most dishes on the menu. It’s all good. Actually it’s all great. The simplicity of the fresh crab with lemon, the pear salad or the mozzarella with aubergine. For my main I had the perfectly cooked calves liver. A big deviation from my usual cooked to perfection sea bass.
Unfortunately the noise level can crank up in the room very easily. Last night was one of those nights. The staff were suicidally apologetic given they allowed 16 people on 2 tables. It won’t stop me going back. Assaggi is a personal fave of mine and consistently delivers. Go enjoy. Take your ear plugs if necessary.
RIP-OFF
What a rip-off of a restaurant. Mediocre food, Mayfair prices, £3 tap water. You’re much better off going to Mediterráneo or Osteria basílico. There is nothing good about this place.
Be the first to ReplyNice food but quite overpriced
We went at Assaggi on a Friday evening for dinner. Lovely Italian restaurant. The food was really tasty and the staff was really professional. However, it was a bit overpriced compared to the quantity served.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, service excellent.
We had an excellent, well-presented lunch at this restaurant which is upstairs in a pleasant, sunny room with large windows to let in plenty of light. The menu was in Italian (surprise it's an Italian restaurant//) but everything was explained to us by a helpful waiter. We had various dishes of crab, sea-bass etc all good.Yes it's expensive, but that can be seen from the menu. No need to go in if you don't like what you see?

Mediocre meal, very overpriced . Wine list very expensive
My wife and I had Frito Misty, supposed to be a selection of fish. Very dry and tasteless. Food arrived within minutes of ordering. It explains it all.
‘Wild horses will not drag me back there”!,,,
One of the best Italian restaurants in London
We lived in London for two years and Assaggi was the only restaurant that we continually came back to. Not only is the food absolutely amazing - but the staff and service is exceptional - they make you feel at home and part of the family. I cannot recommend the place enough. They even had a special dish for my son and invited him often to the kitchen to see how it was made. Whenever we come back to London we will make it a point to come here.
