The cool thing about Aster Hall is the options without being too overwhelming. Each restaurant has a few options each. You want ramen, there's 4 options. You want a burger, there's 5 options. You want sushi and a burger and a salad. You can do that. All orders, when ready, are texted "ready, come to window 4". You'll be picking up your order from each easily marked window. Just like at Starbucks, the condiments are all centrally located (napkins, tableware, ketchup, etc). There's never been anyone around cleaning tables so try to not be messy;) This was great for a fairly fast dinner before our event in the Bloomingdale's building.
Be the first to ReplyI work in the area and stopped in for my first time.
Got a plain Caesar Salad, which comes dressed in breadcrumbs and cheese (you add the dressing). This small, salty salad came out to $20! Granted the Hall itself is beautiful, but that price is absurd.

When you walk up, it does not even look like a food court!! Instead, it looks like an open and modern study/hang out area. There are many different options for food here - from burgers and fries to sushi and ramen. You order your food from a kiosk which was simple and straightforward to use. You get an automatic text when your food is ready which is nice. That said, I got a text saying my fries were ready, but they were not. Not sure if it was a glitch but it didn't happen to anyone else I was with. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries - from different stations of the food hall. The fries were decent, and the chicken sandwich was good! The garlic aioli on the sandwich was very delicious and I even got more for my fries. Overall, I love the options here, but I wouldn't say the particular food I had was special, but it was good. That doesn't mean other things are not better, and I would be open to trying this place again!

You typically order on the kiosks then pick up atbthe counter but it was broken last time and had to order at the coffe/pastry place in the middle. Don't miss the cookie there! Great texture with the right amount of saltiness and loads of chocolate. There were lots of seating too when I went.

Second time dining here, a little tucked away on the top floor. You order from any of the kiosks so you can order a burger from one place and waffle fries from another. Pick up your food at the respective window and dine in the central area. Not enough seating being busy December but we managed to find a shared table. It's nice they have a couple sinks for people to wash hands without having to find the nearest bathroom. It's a great place to eat with friends who all have different tastes.

The ambiance and seating are great, especially for a food hall. One of the best in fact. I had the asian miso pork soup. One of the worst soup Ive tasted in a long time. Had a very strong preservative taste. The salmon bowl was good.
Be the first to ReplyThis is such a nice, upscale dining hall.
Inside of the shopping center so you're able to take a break from shopping for a quick bite to eat. I wish I took a picture of the setting because it was beautiful! The marble was just a fancy touch. We ordered small chaval which is ALWAYS amazing! It was my boyfriend's first time having it so super yummy and new experience for him. You order at a kiosk and then the restaurant you order from calls your number so you don't really have a server. I like how they have all the condiments there for your use.

I ordered the fried chicken and it was delicious!! Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyLoved Aster Hall.
The concept is very cool. A centralized ordering spot for a food court of higher end food. This isn't your typical food court. The food is restaurant quality. I mean delicious! The service is top notch. I ordered a Chicago dog and Italian beef sandwich. It was one of the best Italian beef sandwiches I've ever had. That's saying something for Chicago. The Chicago dog was excellent. I wished I had more opportunities to eat her, but I was running to fly out of OHare. Will definitely hit this place up on my next visit
Be the first to ReplyThis is for bar & study at 6th floor.
The place has always been good but today the water in the pitcher had some transparent flakes. i drank it twice and this concern was not taken seriously. the staff told it maybe from the cloth used to dry the pitcher but the cloth is white and those flakes are transparent. I understand it is just water but i am drinking it- I am always concerned about what goes in my system.

We came here with 14 middle schoolers on a field trip from Detroit. One of the employees was incredibly helpful and walked us through the whole process. The food was affordable, very good, and the service was fast. I would return with kids or even on my own!

I love love love their ambiance their aesthetic, music, and variety in food. Great study spot.
Be the first to ReplyThe "bar and study" is awful.
The bartender is overwhelmed and jumpy, it is in no way conducive to studying as claimed in various online lists--far too dim to read. The guacamole and chips is marked "for one" but could easily serve two. In a hellish part of town. Name is very misleading.

Aster Hall is such a hidden gem! A friend and I came here to work remotely at Aster Hall's Bar & Study. We ended up grabbing lunch at the food hall, which was delicious and super affordable. You order at the kiosk and pick up your food at the individual windows, so it was super easy to mix and match. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. After we picked up our food, we went upstairs to Bar & Study on the 6th floor to get some work done. We scored a booth that had plenty of outlets and the ambience was great. Lots of people were working and studying around us, so it was a motivating atmosphere. The staff were all wonderful and the entire place was chic and spotless. Even the bathrooms were beautiful. I will definitely be back to Aster Hall!
Be the first to ReplyThe food court at aster hall is great! Good quality
The food court at aster hall is great! Good quality selection and not super expensive either. However, the best thing about this place is the bar! Literally EVERYONE working there is AMAZING. That goes from the bartenders like, Almicar, Vanessa, Christian, etc. all the way to the bussers like Pablo, etc. it's a beautiful space but the bartenders and employees do such an impressive job that it makes me want to come back. Shout out to Almicar, Vanessa, Christian and everyone else involved. This bar is the best bar in downtown hands down!!

Ramen review: It's nice the ramen place packs the broth separately. Tried the mushroom ramen and it was literally just salt. So salty adding three additional cups of plain hot water from the coffee shop didn't even help. Wouldn't try the ramen again. Perhaps the other stalls have edible food.Aster hall is a nice place (beautiful and clean) and would definitely go back to try another stall.
Be the first to ReplyLots of choices to eat.
A little confusing for my first time. I had the burgers and tacos. My Al pastor tacos were a little greasy and nothing was hot. The taste of the burger was yummy! But for how busy the place was my burger shouldn't have been like warm.

This is one of my favorite spots to work!Located in the shops at 900 Michigan, Aster Hall is a food court on the 5th floor. There are kiosks where you can order from a handful of restaurant options and then you go to your designated window to pick up.My favorite thing to order are the Al Pastor and Corn tacos from Al Pastor Tacos. The street corn is like Elote and the al pastor tacos are amazing quality. I would definitely recommend setting up shop before the lunch rush, as the place can fill up quickly. There are some nice, comfortable booths next to outlets, and a good coffee shop as well.Aster Hall has pretty much everything you need to comfortably work remotely!
Be the first to ReplyNot bad at all.
A lot of space, especially upstairs. Stylish place on the top floor of the mall in the downtown. Good selection of food - soups, pizza, Chicago style hot dogs some salads and others. Prices are average.
Be the first to ReplyI like food halls.
I like having the convenience of visiting one location but being able to try food from multiple different vendors. A really good food hall can make for a great meal. Personally, I think Aster Hall falls into this category. Now, again, my philosophy when writing these reviews is not to complain about the price of food. A lot goes into these things and anyone who knows anything about this stuff is fully aware that most establishments barely make a profit when you factor in the cost of food, labor and overhead costs. Being located in a mall alongside Bloomingdale's and the Four Seasons can't be cheap. As for the food, ambiance and overall experience, I think Aster Hall has a lot going for it. I sampled food from the taco vendor, Small Cheval, I had a Chicago dog and even tried some sweets from the dessert bar. Everything was good and the standouts were the tacos and the cheeseburgers. The kiosk ordering system was super simple and convenient. There weren't a lot of people when I went which made getting my meal super quick. And the whole place looks really fresh and upscale. All the vendors package items to go and you can pick up to go bags, cutlery and condiments at convenient stations near the vendors. All in all I would definitely say I enjoyed my experience at this food hall.

This is about the margaritas at the bar made by Amilcar (a gentleman from El Salvador) -- 5 star drink! ย Fresh lime juice (not that mix crap) with the perfect combination of sweet and sour. ย He doesn't skim on the tequila and salts the glass perfectly. ย This is for $13, not a bad price for that part of town. ย We'll definitely make this a regular stop for margaritas! ย The happy hour menu looks wonderful and we plan to check that out soon too.
