Atlantis Otranto Reviews from The Last Year
Beach to avoid
Yesterday afternoon with her friends we arrived at this beach at 3pm We paid 28 euros for a few hours for 3 deckchairs and an umbrella but we are not complaining about the cost but about a beach full of seaweed which at least could have been collected on the shore Furthermore, the bathroom was indecent and I find it absurd that customers have to pay 0.20 to rinse their feet I understand the shortage of water but having everything there is a limit
This proves to be an excellent choice!
We had already been there in past years and we confirm the excellent opinion. Suggestive location, by the sea. Very fresh fish prepared to perfection. Better frying than what I do! 😉 Helpful and kind staff. Prices appropriate to the quality.
Lido & restaurant
Lido located a few steps from the center of Otranto, it does not have private parking, so you either park in the forecourt for a fee, or in the blue lines, price in August 1'40 euros per hour. You should pay because the municipality makes money even if you exceed 1 hour. The umbrellas are positioned one from the other to the limits of liveability, zero room for maneuver, and if you have small children, strength and courage. If you go to order at the bar you will find a constant queue, due to only one cash register (unthinkable due to the size of people ). Understaffed. Take away cuisine with restaurant prices. This is August. Price of umbrella 35 euros.
Cuttlefish (most expensive fresh in the Mediterranean)
We asked for something different from what was on the menu because my partner has tomato/onion allergies The guy at the checkout recommends some grilled cuttlefish... I paid €50 for two grilled cuttlefish!!!! But how can you not be ashamed?!?!
Not to go back
Terrible experience. Crowded sunbeds that make rest or just movement unlivable, especially for those with small children. Minimum services. It's sad because the sea would be beautiful but in these conditions it is impossible to enjoy it
Convention that is not convenient
Guests at the Hotel degli Hathey, we decide to book an umbrella at this beach which has an agreement with this hotel. Below is a list of the critical issues that marked the seaside experience: -maximum yield-minimum expense: umbrellas piled on top of each other, equipped with two sunbeds, positioned in such a way as to make it difficult to move to chase the sun. The umbrellas are placed too close to each other. Every movement always reflects on those nearby. -Optional education: the owner? Certainly annoyed for valid reasons (I hope) he almost always acts annoyed. Since we had the umbrella booked for 3 days, we expected it to be fixed. But no, every day we had to go through the number draw. At this point we had asked if it was possible to have it near the shore and he, with his mouth half closed, "they're all booked". -savoury lunch: we ask for friselle and Lecce coffee. Now also considering the raw material, I can say that the costs are too expensive both in terms of quality and quantity. 2 Lecce coffees and 1 normal €9.50 is a steal. Hot shower for just a minute €1 and foot wash €0.20, hallucinate. I rinsed my feet with a bottle filled with sea water but on principle. What can I say...a convention that is not so convenient.
Rudeness served without a silver platter
First and last time in this lido, rude restaurant manager, group of 4 girls and a boy, the very polite manager addressed the boy throughout lunch. The Primo di mare who knew about nothing. The second one, served only to the boy because he had asked for it while clearing the tables for the girls, terrible. Not to mention the beach, the showers are paid after having paid for the umbrella place. I hope that education, services and catering improve as they proudly display the 2019 Michelin guide, apparently a lot has changed in 4 years.
Disarming 😍🤩
Beautiful place, great food, welcoming, dynamic and comfortable, all surrounded by an amazing sea... dreamlike!!!!
Terrible!
Much below expectations. We expected a gourmet restaurant, but instead it was gourmet only in the price! Little more than a trattoria

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
