Brunch hot Nirvana!
Aziza is far from being underrated; it stands as a pinnacle of culinary excellence. Aziza is revered by food connoisseurs as premier destinations that offer unparalleled experiences. The exceptional food, service, and ambiance make these establishments the top choice for discerning diners. Frequented by high-profile individuals, socialites, renowned chefs, dedicated food enthusiasts, and visitors to San Francisco, Mourad's restaurants epitomize sophistication and gastronomic delight. This is a must visit restaurant in San Francisco!

The food was very good. The chard prawns were the best. We did not like the lamb shank as it didn’t have a good flavor. The staff were very nice as was our waitress. The harissa cookies with chocolate chip were interesting and good.

Wow. A Michelin-starred Moroccan night out. Gorgeous food, lovely wines by the glass, educated servers, beautiful pacing. The room is very calming with understated , modern Moroccan-themed decor that invites you to linger. We had the harissa cashews (a must, but don’t fill up- it’s a generous portion so have some with your aperitif and box those up), the burrata, kefta meatballs, shakshuka, charred broccolini and a side of cous cous. Generous portions, we took a lot home but it was all so enticing we wanted to try many dishes. The white Bordeaux and Damilano Arneis were very complimentary wine pairings. Prices are reasonable- has held a Michelin star since 2010. Ask for recommendations on food and wine, share plates, and enjoy Aziza.Street parking is sparse in this Richmond neighborhood so leave time.

Wow!! So glad we got to eat at this lovely restaurant!!! Had never had Moroccan cuisine before - and gee it was sooo good!!! Very charming and friendly waiter!! Cocktails were delicious- loved my bear glass!! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals!! I had the chicken pie and loved it & the lamb shank was apparently delicious as well!! The date cake was exceptional!! Highly recommend visiting this restaurant you’d definitely have to book in advance!!

How many chefs have won as contestants on the Iron Chef TV show? Chef Mahmoud Lahlou has — and I would vote for him too after eating at his restaurant, Aziza, in San Francisco’s Central Richmond district. Aziza has reopened after the COVID lockdown with brand new look: warm and cozy but plenty of space between tables. We started with the trio of spreads ( white bean with olives, dill lebni with salmon roe, a piquillo with pine nuts and flat bread). We then shared the grilled squid and a whole branzino fish. (We didn’t order the lamb shank but looking at it delivered to a neighboring table made me want to come back for it next time I’m in SF). For dessert we had the date cake - don’t pass it up even if you think you are full. Like the the Iron Chef judges, I would give Aziza winning marks in all three categories: creativity, plating and TASTE!

Aziza was recommended to us by a waitress at another restaurant and we are so lucky we made a reservation. Phenomenal meal! From the artisan cocktails to the unique custard dessert we really enjoyed our dinner here. We had the burrata appetizer, the lamb shank, and the basteeya. Everything prepared to perfection and the service was attentive and excellent.
Be the first to ReplyCorn Bread .... get the corn bread
A great late night option to eat somewhere with someone special. Always start (and end) with the cornbread with harissa butter. This time the lamb shank was exceptional.... the wine list and cocktails were fab...did I say don't overlook the cornbread...

Be the first to ReplyAziza...Wonderful Moroccan Food on Geary
Aziza, a Moroccan restaurant on Geary Street is a wonderful corner location with ever expanding room for intimate, small & large groups. Interestingly, those of us who have visited the sister restaurant Mourad downtown found this one to be less expensive and still great! Waitstaff is noticeably welcoming & very attentive thru out the evening and not just because of all the small servings coming along. Known for small plates to share, the fun is trying as many as there are guests at your table (5). Snacks & Smaller Plates: Pickled Vegetables w/onion dip, various Spreads w/Moroccan Bread - excellent beginnings, Roasted Beets served on bed of Hazelnut Granola was interesting. We order 2 Roasted Prawns for 5 of us and Quail w/ Honey & Wild Huckleberry is fabulous but definitely order 2 or more - VERY tiny birds!
Larger Plates- definitely share for more than a taste: Basteeya Chicken (a bit sweet for my taste) but enjoyed by the rest of us, Lamb Shank & Beef Tagine are splendid classics, Chicken w/crispy potato, green olives & lemon also a favorite. Unfortunately, Roasted Cauliflower needs to be enjoyed when served immediately hot or becomes ho hum.
Desserts are excellent if you still have room: Date Cake w/Butterscotch and the Chocolate w/praline cream & lemon are marvelous!
Awesome
We have eaten at here in the previous location eight years ago very happy to see that the quality and authenticity of the food is still intact. With my wife being from Morocco it’s very hard to please Moroccan food, we were celebrating my 50th birthday and they knocked it out of the park.
love this restaurant love the service love the bar but most importantly the food was exceptional. Bravo Aziza
