Start to finish-4 hours.

3/5 by 👻 @Jill S. on 09/07/2025

It took 1.5 hours for our first course. This doesn't seem normal. It was three couples, so maybe they were really busy. Reservation was 7:30 and we walked out 11:30. The crab fritter was the star! The ravioli dish wasn't amazing, and no one was really impressed with the cheese course (third). It was a fun experience, but the lag of the courses being served was a lot.

Very, very disappointing food

1/5 by 👻 @wclegends on 06/20/2025

My wife and I are foodies who travel the world finding excellent restaurants. Coming to Atlanta for a FIFA Club World Cup soccer match, we researched the Atlanta restaurants and for our first night, this one looked very good online. However, the reality was the exact opposite. Ignoring how hard it was for our Uber driver to find the restaurant because there is no sign on either the street or on the store behind which is the restaurant, the woman at the registration desk immediately gave us a nasty attitude I guess because we were a half hour early for our reservation. And after we were seated and had ordered our appetizers and entrees from the ala carte menu, instead of the restaurant’s seemingly preferred prix fixed menu, we were astounded at how small were the appetizer portions to the point of thinking that they were a joke. As for the entrees, I had the dover sole, which was absurdly fried without warning on the menu and which I returned after two bites because the flavor of the fish was completely hidden by coating on the fish. Quite frankly, I frequently order dover sole and never before has any chef found it necessary to mask its deliciousness by breading and frying it. Anyway, the restaurant did offer me another entree and I chose the divers scallops, which were three very small scallops in a nice sauce. As for the wine list, it is extremely overpriced with half bottles starting at $60. As for the service, our waitress did come to our table and ask how the food was. However she was gone before I could answer and I had to get the attention of a manager to ask for a replacement of my dover sole entree. Upon leaving the restaurant, we waited by the street so our Uber driver could easily find us. Returning to our hotel room, our fear was that our dining experience on our second and last night in Atlanta would be equally as bad. However , we were both very pleased with our dinners at the Avize restaurant that had a very nice menu, delicious food…appetizers, entrees, and desserts…and excellent, very attentive service. Whenever we return to Atlanta, we will avoid this restaurant and look forward to dining again at the Avize restaurant.

Super nice upscale restaurant that offers a 4 course fixed

5/5 by 👻 @Alyssa L. on 06/04/2025

Super nice upscale restaurant that offers a 4 course fixed menu BUT (shout out all my semi picky eaters) you can actually choose which dishes you want from each section! the four sections are: appetizer, entree, cheese, dessert and items under each section change seasonally Since there were 4 of us, we all ordered different dishes so we could try as many as we could and I gotta say: food quality was super good, service was also immaculate and ofc all the dishes were SO beautiful our faves were the complimentary cheese puffs which were airy and light and paired with the creamy yet strong cheese sauce was SO good (even my dad who doesn't usually eat cheese loved it, the entrees were all very good (meat was tender and juicy, seafood was fresh and everything was very flavorful) the only thing I will say is that the desserts were lacking (compared to the rest of our meal): overall everything was too sweet and kinda just fell flat BUT still good IG: Spillingthe.beans

Some meals feed your stomach. This one fed something deeper

5/5 by 👻 @Heraton B on 05/27/2025

Bacchanalia isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a reminder that food, at its best, is memory, emotion, and artistry all colliding on a plate. We came for an anniversary dinner, expecting a nice night out. What we got was something closer to alchemy. The Dover Sole was pure elegance—clean, precise, and whisper-soft. And then came the cheese course: a Parmigiano with fig cake that hit like a sucker punch. One bite, and I was a kid again, back at my grandmother’s house on Christmas Eve. I cried. At a white tablecloth restaurant. And I didn’t care. That’s what Bacchanalia does—it breaks you down in the most beautiful way.

2/5 by 👻 @Tatiana H. on 05/18/2025

I have visited this restaurant twice before it received a Michelin star. It was pretty good then, but I never would have considered this restaurant Michelin-rated or even at the standard of Bib Gourmand. Parts of the service felt rushed. One of the waiters stumbled quite a bit with the menu and when asked about details of the dessert (as they have 1-2 word descriptions) went so far as to describe the location of each ingredient which is a first for me. A waitress left a couple of empty plates on the table when she placed our entrées in front of us. Two of the four servers we had during our meal were top notch professional, succinct in their descriptions when presenting our food and were quite graceful. The main proteins were cooked to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. The meal itself, though, was overall lackluster; nothing special flavor-wise. Additionally, it is bread heavy which is at odds with a refined and intentional Michelin menu where the bread is supposed to compliment, not dominate the entire meal. For example, at the Dabney (in DC), their cast-iron cornbread fits with their theme of elevating a rustic, family-style Southern meal with a communal presentation. In contrast, the bread here felt more like a filler, literally. You'll certainly leave full--but ironically, the experience falls a bit flat. I will say the evening ended nicely with the dessert, so compliments to the pastry chef. Otherwise, I remain flabbergasted as to how this place not only has a star but has sustained it. It's a harsh critique, but after eating at dozens of Michelin restaurants, even the basic standard should be maintained.

We just came back from an evening out.

3/5 by 👻 @Jess G. on 05/03/2025

We haven't been to Bacchanalia in many years but have good memories at the other location. We enjoy great food and the experience that comes from a Michelin rated restaurant. The new location is very nice, the interior tasteful and comfortable, not stuffy. This evening, the food was very good. The presentation was beautiful, especially my beet salad with goat yogurt. The turnip dish was also wonderful as was the main course. What fell surprisingly short was the service. It was odd, unfriendly and unwelcoming, almost robotic. It felt as if everyone who came to our table from our server to the other food runners (with the exception of Marcus who had good energy and was gracious) was either told not to interact with guests or were so miserable working there that they couldnt help themselves. My husband and I paid close attention because the service felt cold from the minute we sat down. Not one single person-aside from our main server who sort of greeted us (he seemed fairly new to the job) even gave a "Good Evening, how are you both this evening?" The entire 2 hours we were there! I watched how the staff interacted with other tables and it was the same. It felt as if they were trained very well on how to serve the food and what to say about the food but the most basic training regarding service and interaction was completely forgotten. Really very bizarre. We have felt more welcome and had better service going through a Chick-Fil-a drive through. This is very surprising for a restaurant that is highly regarded. What happened on the service side? Are the servers that miserable or have they just lowered the bar on what they would expect as far as how to create a welcoming atmosphere. This is basic, basic stuff. Everyone who touches your table or interacts with you in any way should be at the very least, saying "Good Evening!" before laying down a fork or serving your food or clearing your dishes. Very disappointing. For the price, this should be a given. Thankfully the food was good but a robotic waitstaff is not a good look.

The smallest portions we have ever been served. The lobster was tiny scraps we would have discarded when cooking ourselves. The flavors were not good. The “sea bass”was the size of a Large tablespoon and salty. One of the four courses was a selection from five different cheeses-there were no other dishes offered for this course.A selection of cheese slices was also offered as an appetizer. It was a waste of time ,calories and money. Totally overpriced for the small amount of cooked food that we got. Very disappointing for a Michelin rated restaurant

Great Vibes For That Special Occasion

We decided to give here a try for our birthday dinner. Located pretty close to the city, we figure it would be a good visit. The building itself was un-assuming. The decor inside was chić but subtle. There was not too many tables which kept the environment intimate. Food- Very knowledgeable and professional wait staff. Food was wonderful with the selection provided, however I must admit we left the restaurant just a tad disappointed, as we were hoping to experience a dish with that umami moment. Nevertheless the Chef and his team still did an outstanding job. Drinks- Great cocktails.

Four for dinner and we received a friendly greeting upon arrival and was seated immediately. Ambiance is very nice with a calm atmosphere and low noise level. The wait staff were professionally friendly and provided detailed information regarding the options for each course. We started with the Fruits De Mer, a large, varied selection of fresh seafood with a variety of sauces and a bottle of Sav Blanc…. delicious. Each course is was served timely and presentation spot on. Two of us elected for the wine pairing for each course and the pairing was very well done. Kudos to our head waiter for recommending a change in one of the pairing selections as it was the Sav Blanc we had earlier enjoyed. A quick mention about the dessert I chose. The Soufflé was absolutely spectacular and I am not a dessert fan. A fantastic dining experience and the Michelin recognition is warranted. We will return.

Fine Dining & a Break-In

3/5 by 👻 @JulesVerneJr on 09/17/2024

Took my brother and his wife who were visiting from out of town to our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. We have been to Bacchanalia several times and enjoy celebrating special occasions here because it is a unique dining experience. The food and service were excellent. The variety of dishes and flavors of each dish were complimented by our group. Unfortunately, during our third course a manager came by to ask if we owned a vehicle that experienced a shattered window due to a theft in their parking lot. It was indeed one of our vehicles which was parked almost right in front of the entrance to the restaurant and several items were stolen. While the restaurant was sympathetic and offered a glass of champagne to each of us and waived the corkage fee, the incident was unsettling and put a damper on the evening. When dining at a two-star Michelin restaurant, concerns of safety and personal property should not factor into the experience. Discussions with restaurant staff revealed this was not the first time for an auto break-in as one employee mentioned wait times for the police could range from several minutes to over four hours. While there is a roving security vehicle, he was absent for an extended period of time and goes all the way to Top Golf. Clearly the perpetrators know his pattern as they busted the window when the security guard was far away. Why not hire a dedicated security guard who can stand watch over the diners' vehicles for a few hours? Surely the cost would be nominal and the peace of mind worth it for loyal patrons. An otherwise excellent meal was unfortunately tainted by the break-in of one of our vehicles and the fallout of replacing the window, stolen items, and resulting time and inconvenience will linger for several weeks.

They walk you through every element of the menu and check in throughout the meal. You'll have several people supporting the meal and there are paired wine options to go along with each course. I don't think there is anyway to go wrong with this menu - each option within the four courses looked delicious and there were several additional surprises from chef! A fairly reasonable price for a tasting menu!

Wow, what an experience.

5/5 by 👻 @Danielle S. on 07/13/2024

This beautiful restaurant really is a cut above the rest. The service was just spectacular, and we were impressed that the pre-fixe menu had 5-6 options per course. It's four courses for $125, plus whatever you spend on drinks. I'm no foodie expert by any means, but this was such a fun and delicious experience. I had the crab fritter to start, which was so flavorful - the fritter was melt-in-your-mouth good with a sweet and spicy sauce. The lobster was to die for. I so rarely get to eat lobster, and there was an Asian sauce with it that I would drink. The cheese course was creative and fun - I had the parmigiana with a date cake - salty and sweet. And my chocolate dessert was like a little French silk pie on a cookie bottom - rich and also salty, which was surprising. They had little tiny surprise treats throughout the meal, including fresh sourdough and rolls. You can choose to do wine pairings, but we had cocktails. The Paloma was refreshing, and my husband had a tea-themed gin drink. Our other family members had wine, and they have a full journal of options and a sommelier to help you choose. The most random side note: the lights kept dimming and then coming back up. It was very confusing haha. However, this was a great experience for a special occasion. My first Michelin star experience!

Bacchanalias!! The restaurant itself is in a peaceful location, which I admire. The service was great, the atmosphere was pretty sexy, and the food was delicious as well. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I was disappointed with my dessert, I asked for an herbal/non caffeinated tea & was given a caffeinated green, and my duck was a bit tough. I wanted to take my significant other somewhere nice

5/5 by 👻 @Monique V. on 06/04/2024

I wanted to take my significant other somewhere nice they've never been for their birthday. I also have been wanting to come to bacchanalia for a while now and things just lined up. Let me preface by saying this has to be one of the best dining experiences. I've had in a very long time. We definitely got our moneys worth. Prior to coming. I did do some research because I was nervous about the portions and him being hungry afterwards, and that just was not the case at all. From the time I walked in to the time I left I was probably greeted by every single person that worked there. The service was immaculate and they really made us feel valued and seen and made sure we were pleased. I'd have to say I don't feel the ambience was overly done it felt very cozy and modern. So from the beginning, obviously we knew we wanted to do the four course tasting menu along with the wine pairing. So bear with me because I do not remember the names of any of the wines we had thoroughly enjoyed them all lol. For some reason, I ordered the oysters. I really wish I had not done that. I probably wouldn't have left so overly full. That was my fault but they were delicious so no regrets. They started us off with some airy popover type bread that came with a (I want to say Gruet) cheese dipping sauce. Omg they were so good! Somewhere in between the bread and oysters, we received an amuse bouche (for each of us) I can't recall specifically what they were but I know one of them had dried brisket, and that was my favorite. For our first course, my dinner companion got the crab fritter and I got the FL yellowfin tuna. Both were delicious however his was on another level of flavor! For our second course, he got the lamb which was Olive and pistachio crusted and came with a side of artichoke. I tried it and it was good just a little too gamy for me, but, I got the dry aged ny strip and that was the best steak i've ate in a long time. My partner still randomly talks about it to this day. With our second course came sides, one sautéed spinach and onions the other was seasoned tomatoes. For our third course, he got the red cow parmigiano and loved it, I got the cheese plate was very happy with my choice. It came with a different variety of cheeses, apples, honey, and some candied pecans. for our last course, I was trying to figure out the dish. Everyone was getting in the previous reviews because no one had a name for it so I ordered the coffee dessert. Turns out it was not the same as the previous reviews, but it was okay what I like most was in the middle was what tasted like Rice Krispies so I enjoyed the crunch part. My partner got the happy birthday. I think it was a sticky toffee cake. It was better than all the desserts on the table. It was delicious! He also got his fourth course the strawberry, whole-grain tart, with Matcha gelato I liked his better. Going back to the wine pairing we followed the suggestions of the Somalia. All of which were fabulous. I'll put my receipt if you're interested in knowing what those were. The whole dining experience was absolutely fabulous and I cannot wait until I can come back and experience it all over again.

A neat perfect experience in all ways! If we had remained with just the courses this would have been a 5 star review. We tried the Fruits de Mer and I would recommend passing. The price for what is received is not worth it. Very keen seafood eater here and not all the seafood tasted fresh. Nothing had gone bad but shellfish was all fishy, and you could even taste it through the various sauces. The shrimp was the best part - tasted fresh. The lobster roll was also a disappointment - way too much bread. Now onto the good parts - everything we chose for the 4 courses was delicious. From crab fritter, to mushroom tart, to duck, prime rib..everything was perfectly created to a tee. Loved all the little deliveries from the kitchen as well throughout the meal. We definitely were stuffed by the end. Definitely recommend and would come back. The restaurant itself is also gorgeous rustic chic.

The hostess and restaurant knew and they played it off perfect! I was totally surprised, the service and how they went out of their way to make my birthday special was amazing. I'm going to need to explain a few things: I'm a country

5/5 by 👻 @Charles G. on 03/10/2024

I'm going to need to explain a few things: I'm a country bumpkin at heart. I enjoy Bojangles biscuits, Coke zero, and heavily processed snack cakes. In the past few years, I've learned to cook, and I've gotten decent for a novice home cook. My wife is classy, though, and has convinced me that food should be quality over quantity, culminating in me looking forward to a Michelin star restaurant and thoroughly enjoying it! Back story done with, please excuse my lack of knowledge/memory about names of foods. The short version is that it was, hands down, the best meal I've ever had. It's different than the many great meals I've had around the world, but in a separate class for sure! The parking lot was empty when we got there, and we walked right into our reservation not long after opening. Our server and the sommelier were kind but not as engaging as I had assumed they might be, but they got everything we needed and were never in the way - the plus side of not being chatty, I suppose! The menu has enough variety that we found plenty of things we liked in each course, and we shared each dish for added variety. I had a rum old fashioned (mostly because they had no beer selection - major bummer for a bumpkin!), and my wife enjoyed a half bottle of one of her favorite wines. For the first course, we had the crab fritter and the mushrooms. The menu said the mushrooms had tofu, but I certainly didn't notice any (I'm a world-traveled bumpkin who married into a culture that enjoys tofu, so I was sad not to notice the tofu); regardless, the mushrooms were in stiff competition for being the greatest thing I ate all night, and I don't typically like mushrooms. For the second course, my wife ordered the scallops - the most delicious scallops I've ever had in my life, for whatever that's worth! I had the turbot, which was also great, but not nearly as perfect as the scallops. I had thought about doing the steak, but 4 oz? That would just make me hungry for steak! We kind of guessed on the cheeses, and the waitress wasn't particularly helpful in suggestions with the "everything here is good because it's a world-class restaurant" nonsense. I mean, yeah, we know why we came here, but we've not treated any of it, and you should have! Oh well. I didn't care for either cheese dish, in all honesty, but that means new choices next time! Dessert is where it got confusing! My wife got a small piece of yellow cake for her birthday, which was unexpected, but what I didn't expect was that my non-sweet-toothed wife far preferred the coffee dessert to the citrus souffle. She and I rarely fight over dessert because up until tonight the only one she liked enough to fight over was the caramel popcorn sundae at Canoe! I just gave her my dessert because I saw the look on her face after I insisted she try a bite. I'm not sure I'll ever order a different dessert if the coffee one is still on the menu. I also had the coffee at the end of the night, and it was a fantastic experience all around. This is all white noise - it's got a Michelin star, but it also has a bumpkin-turned-devotee, so I think they've got all their bases covered!

The food is amazingly good, well presented and the flavors

5/5 by 👻 @Clementina H. on 03/03/2024

The food is amazingly good, well presented and the flavors are wisely combined in a very interesting way and presented with great art. The service is elegant, friendly and timely. The staff is knowledgeable , the ambiance is cozy, refined and appropriate for any type of occasion. If you are the type of person that truly enjoys gastronomy this is the place; however, remember that good quality and presentation is not cheap. The price per person -if you stick to the prefixed price- is not costly considering the variety of options your palate will enjoy in just one dinning experience; but, be careful getting too excited with the drinks and any other option out of the offer. Bottom line I enjoyed it very much and look forward on coming back! No pictures are posted of my dinner as I was too delighted with the food and made the decision to live the experience with all my senses and mind just focusing on my plates!

My first starred experience in ATL Going into this place

5/5 by 👻 @Rob J. on 03/01/2024

My first starred experience in ATL Going into this place - the one resounding - almost ubiquitous feedback I heard from the few lucky enough to dine here is "you get great food, but not a lot of it" Im shutting that fallacy down right now. Maybe Atlantans aren't ready for a Michelin starred restaurant of this caliber if they truly believe that. This place will stuff you to the gills. Don't let a four course prix fixe menu fool you. The sleek, mid century modern decor is sure to emanate a sense of arousal when first walking in. I decided to go with the fois gras terrine, duck breast, kurst cheese, and chocolate dessert as my prix fixe but ended up layering in the ova classic caviar course because why the hell not. I wasn't really celebrating anything - but came to the conclusion that almost anything is worth celebrating. I'll be honest. Every course, including the surprise courses of profiteroles, amuse-bouche, complimentary side courses, and petit fleurs at the end were absolutely divine. If you're looking for a paradigm shifting culinary gut punch you CANNOT skip the duck course. The only dish I would change is the Kurst cheese with Belgian endive. While I'm personally a fan of excessive bitterness - I could totally see how this could be off putting to an unsuspecting diner. I can say rather sanguinely that I disproved the myth that you leave this place hungry. Quite frankly I have a low degree of confidence that I'll even be able to eat lunch tomorrow after this phenomenal dinner. Come here and come HUNGRY. If you leave this establishment and end up going to Krystal after you deserve any harsh judgement that comes your way. And I'm saying that as someone who would panhandle hard on MARTA for Krystal burgers.

Continuing on in the Michelin quest.

4/5 by 👻 @Natasha D. on 03/01/2024

.. next up, Bacchanalia. My bf made a reservation on a Wednesday evening to coincide with our anniversary. As they have continued to rise in prominence, reservations have understandably been harder to come by. From the moment we arrived to leaving, we were congratulated on our special occasion, which is a really nice touch. The Michelin star is certainly warranted. Ingredients, preparation, creativity, flavor profiles, extra items (amuse bouche, snacks sent by chef, etc.), service, all outstanding. That said, nothing that I ate was the best ever. I have a salt sensitivity and felt that the majority of the dishes reached the higher level of what would be considered normal for seasoning. I'm kicking myself for not selecting the egg dish in the first course. The beloved crab cake fritter missed the mark for me. I loved the fresh crab meat, but it was sitting atop a liquid that had a very funky fish sauce flavor that I couldn't get past. There was a farro side dish served with the main/second course that I found delicious. The cold sweet potatoes not so much. The course I enjoyed the most was the third/cheese. I had the BRILLAT-SAVARIN, the creamiest cheese paired with honey/comb and the most insanely good sourdough crouton. The crunch contrasted so well with the salty and sweet flavors. My bf had the baba for the dessert course which was inedible for me. But I'm also not a big fan of prune or bourbon. We were brought a complimentary piece of cake for our anniversary and I found it dry. The chocolate dessert is the winner for that course. We did the wine pairing and also ordered a mezcal cocktail. With all of the extras we didn't find any need to order supplements. We were very full at the end and wished the pacing of the meal had been a bit better and slower. Start to finish we were there for about an hour and a half but it felt like less. The cocktail arrived after the first course was served, for example. We could have used a few more minutes between courses and probably should have said something. Loved the elevated industrial ambiance and noticed how far apart the tables were - kind of like social distancing times, but not mad it! It's nice to feel like you have your own space/privacy and not piled on top of strangers. As we were walking out, the hostess offered us a loaf of bread left over from their store - and it was good! This is the kind of establishment where you're not just directed to the restroom, but accompanied there personally. Every single employee we encountered was kind and professional, and showed pride in the experience they provide. Does Bacchanalia deserve a Michelin star? Absolutely. But if I had to choose between it and Lazy Betty, the latter wins every day of the week. This was great for a one-time experience but not worth the value for a return visit.

This was my first Michelin star experience.

4/5 by 👻 @Steven N. on 02/23/2024

I made reservation a few weeks in advance. It looked like an industrial building from the outside. We got seated immediately. I brought my whole family including 2 children under 10 years old. Service was excellent. I tried 2 different cocktails and both were good. Food was very good, but portion was kinda small. There were 4 main courses. Third course was cheese and last was dessert. Children paid the same price as adults. So, it's not worth bringing children in my opinion. My children started complaining after first 2 courses. It's going to be a long while until I come back here again

I went with my long-time college friend to experience my

5/5 by 👻 @Alicia N. on 02/20/2024

I went with my long-time college friend to experience my first Michelin! The decor, lighting, and service (very attentive and friendly) were exactly what I had envisioned when I think of Michelin restaurants. Leftovers were packed for us, and we were offered fresh loaves of bread from the adjoining bakery (Star Provisions) on our way out. Overall, I'm glad that I experienced my first Michelin here! We selected and shared different items for each course to try more of the menu. We chose the foie gras and crab fritters as appetizers (1st course). Although we loved both, our server said that the crab fritter was one of the most popular appetizers, and that was definitely one of our favorites from the night. We chose the lamb and duck (both of the most popular entrees) for the 2nd course. The lamb was tender and one of my favorites; however, the duck disappointed both of us because it was dry. For the third course, my friend chose the selection of cheese, and we liked the sheep cheese. Lastly, we chose baba and chocolate for the last course. I didn't try the chocolate because I was full, but I disliked the baba personally because it was completely soaked in bourbon that overwhelmed any other flavors. Throughout the night, we were given complimentary snacks; I thought the most notable was their bread since it came from their adjoining bakery (Star Provisions).

Like many others, we were excited to have a Michelin star

3/5 by 👻 @Jason M. on 02/17/2024

Like many others, we were excited to have a Michelin star experience here in Atlanta. We've dined at a handful of other Michelin star restaurants and they were excellent. Bacchanalia was good...but it fell short of expectations. We enjoyed each course, although my wife said her New York strip was a bit chewy. The service was really disappointing. My favorite part about a Michelin star experience is how special the staff makes you feel. We felt forgotten about and somewhat ignored. It took 3 hours to receive and eat our dinner. The tables on either side of us arrived after us and finished before us. Our server regularly visited them while she disappeared for 3 of our 5 courses. We received a half hearted apology and some complimentary potatoes to compensate how long we waited on each course. With a $650 tab, it's unfortunate to leave feeling there was much to be desired.

During our visit to Atlanta, decided to check this place

5/5 by 👻 @Tim J. on 02/12/2024

During our visit to Atlanta, decided to check this place out after making a reservation. Appears that it got Michelin star in 2023 and long story short, they deserve the star. Having tried several Michelin star places, I think they have worked their way up in terms of taste and service over the course of many years per review. It is a four course meal for $125/pp and you get to choose a dish from each course. I highly recommend getting wine pairing as they really go well with the dish. My favorite was the crab fritter and scallop. Also, Perfect ambience for special occasion- recommend checking it out with your loved ones.

If only everything was as good as the cheese plate...

2/5 by 👻 @Eric W on 11/02/2023

I had expectations of perfectly executed dishes, but had several disappointments. Firstly, why would you ask if there are any food allergies, then serve multiple plates with said allergen? Secondly, the timing was terrible. Our bread came 30 seconds before our first course, but we were waiting with nothing on the table for half an hour previous. Drinks that were meant to be accompanied with meals were never served with them, and the wait between courses was extremely long. I would be more understanding if the restaurant was full and servers were running around like madmen, but the general vibe was lax, with no sense of urgency. Speaking of the drinks, we ordered a couple of classic cocktails - a Sazerac for me, and my wife had a Brandy Alexander with dessert. Neither of which were made by anyone who had made them before - it was obviously that these were Googled recipes, and muddled through. I would have much preferred they tall me that they couldn't make them, and we would have ordered something more to the caliber of the bartender. Skipping ahead to dessert, my wife had the Muscadine, which was akin to cheesecake that had been left in the fridge uncovered for a week to dry out, then covered with a bunch of wet things to cover up the fact. The worst part was the gelatin bits - they were completely out of place for taste and texturally. The most egregious complaint comes with my meal - the lamb. As soon as it was presented, I knew it was beef. Lamb doesn't sear the same, smell the same, or taste the same. When we asked our server what cut it was, he stated lamb loin, (which I have cooked dozens of times at home), and that it was sourced from New York. Funny guy, being that I was served New York Strip. To be fair, it was cooked perfectly, and very tasty, but I ordered lamb. The one real high point was the cheese course - I had the red cow parm, and my wife had something with a french name. They were both creative, beautiful, flavorful, textural, and perfectly proportioned. If the entire meal was on that level, this review would have gone quite differently, and it would be obvious why they have Michelin Stars... unfortunately that was not our experience.

Great food wine and service but too cold

The food, wine and service were great, but it was so cold, it crept up on me through the meal, until dessert when I was warming my hands on my soufflé. Other dinners didn’t seem to mind but my wife and I had to hurry to leave - just so cold.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Bacchanalia Atlanta at 6 PM the same day.
