Absolutely stunning place, beautiful art expressed in every corner and every detail, staff really friendly and ready to accommodate any request. Me and my husband had dinner here and we enjoyed everything, food was absolutely delicious. Exquisite, exclusive atmosphere. We will definitely go back . If you are looking for an elegant , special event this is the perfect place to go. Highlight to the manager Francesco who was checking on the clients to make sure was all good , very friendly and helpful. Amazing!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyMuch to expensive!
Went for my wifeās birthday and the place is quirky and luxurious However we go to nice restaurants regularly but this was the most we have ever paid for a meal. Much more than the Savoy or the Ritz The food was very nice but overly priced My wife had a small piece of sea bass in salt for Ā£80.00 without anything with it. The bill was Ā£400.00 for two with just a starter each a main course and a dessert. (One was one scoop of ice cream). Four small glasses of wine and sparkling water Very nice but way too expensive.

This spot is amazing for dinner with friends. The atmosphere and music was perfect. The food was spectacular, no complaints with the food what so ever.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible treatment, service and food
I had dinner here on 18 March 2023, I am extremely disappointed and provide the following feedback which I will be putting on social media and have advised all of my friends and collegues. The waiter: Did not understand the menu I asked what was gluten free and dairy free and he told me to scan the app on my phone. I said that I did not want to do that and would prefer for them to tell me. They refused and told me that i needed to do it. As an experience that is meant to be 'on a grand and glorious scale' I would expect that the waiter would know the basics and provide recommendations. We felt rushed and they waiter was very rude. He returned and said 'have you decided' i said i needed assistance - he was of no help. They took my order and i was uncomfortable. They did not ask if we wanted a drink, took the drinks menu and then threw it down for us to decide. I then asked to speak to the manager, explained the issue and explained that i did not want that waiter to assist us. This was ignorned and I still had the same waiter. We were not even provided with say an apology or a complimentary drink. The food arrived, and i asked what was in the source and he said it had soy in it. - which i specifically asked for confirmation that there was no gluten in my order. Also i ordered the steak but didn't receive a steak knife. When another waitress came to clear the table, she dropped a napkin in my water, perfectly fine however they advised that they would get me another glass - at least 10 minutes later i did not receive a fresh glass and had to ask for one. We were rushed to finish our dinner, i did not even finish it and was moved to the bar area. There were no chairs, the waiter said he would get chairs for us. I saw this same waiter walking around, and could see they had forgotten. I asked another waiter - who said 'we don't provide chairs on a saturday night'. This was an inconsistent message with what i had received earlier. Furthermore it does not cater for people who may have a disability - which is not always obvious. I then proceeded to go to the ladies bathroom. There was not one toilet roll in any toilet. The women were forced to use the napkins (usually used to wipe your hands) in the bathroom. These would inevitably cause the toilets to block. I advised staff of this and my friend went to use the bathroom a little while later and there were still no toilet rolls. When i left, i went to get my coat - the lady threw it at me whilst she was talking to the other colleagues at the reception area - of which there were approximately 5 people (from memory) - they were discussing various personal/gossip related issues. It was very unsettling and in my view unprofessional. Summary: In summary this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The table was set for 2 hours - however to provide the breathtaking experience that you so claim - 2 hours being rushed is insufficient. It fails the basic standards of a restaurant experience, of which we went there to celebrate my friend's birthday that night. It was not a breath-taking feast for the senses, we did not feel moved or immersed in another world - we felt rushed and were treated like dirt. It was not grand or glorious and we didn't feel that we were indulging in life's richness. i've tried to provide feedback in the contact section, however it would barely allow me to write a few lines and there's no phone number or email . Further to this review above: I received a phone call in response from Clinton Barry - Guest Relations manager of the restaurant which I can see is linked to the Ivy Collection chain of restaurants which appears to be owned by British Businessman Richard Caring. Clinton phoned me on 23 March to discuss my experience. The phone call was not pleasant. My perception of his tone was that it was ābullyingā and āthreateningā. He went through each piece of feedback and rather than letting me express my opinion, his attempt was to ādefendā the restaurant - which is the correct thing to do, however - he wanted to defend each point suggesting that āi was incorrectā. I fail to understand how if Clinton was not present at dinner with me that night how Clinton is able to speak to the factual circumstances of what happened. Specifically Clinton made the following points and said the following in their own words addressing each specific point: That the waiter ācould not be expected to know every single allergy on the menuā and that āi refused to look at the QRā code. If Clinton was not present at dinner with me, I am unsure as to how Clinton could know whether I refused to look at the QR code or not. That comment does not make sense. Furthermore, it is exceptionally rude and I felt bullied and intimidated by these comments. The point is, the waiter was rude and did not want to engage in offering me a grand and glorious experience - like the kind that is claimed to be offered on the restaurantās website. Clinton mentioned that the waiter cannot be expected to remember everything on the menu. I disagree. With a restaurant of this alleged calibre, the waiter should know or at least make the guest feel like - āthey will find outā. Regarding my point that the table was booked for a 2 hour period, Clinton in summary said in a condescending tone - āI donāt know how long you think youāve lived in London - but this is the standard across all busy London restaurantsā. My point was not necessarily about the 2 hour slot, the point is that I felt rushed and did not receive the breathtaking grand experience I was hoping for. Furthermore, I perceive that this is discriminatory towards me. Suggesting that I was not from London. Clinton is discriminating against me against what Clinton perceives I sound like over the phone. Based on the response from Clinton, he has made a negative judgment about my accent. I ordered the steak and Clinton said in a condescending tone, āthere would not have been soy in the steak we are not an asian restaurantā. With respect, I was very clear about what type of restaurant this was and that is was i originally booked it. I was told that there was soy in the sauce and it was taken away immediately when the waiter noticed, however i had to ask - this could have resulted in me potentially ending up in a hospital due to allergy issues. Thankfully i took it upon myself to confirm for a third time. Clinton mentioned that āi did not need a steak knife because the meat is tender enough to cut throughā. With respect Clinton was not there sharing my steak with me so I am unsure as to how Clinton can give a view about something they did not see. I made the point that - my hand was sore after cutting the meat without a steak knife. My perception is that Clinton did not understand my point regarding moving to the Bar area. I made the point in my post above that when we were moved to the Bar we were told by the staff member - āI will get you chairsā. As stated, we did not have chairs and had to ask for the Chairs. We were then told that as it was a saturday night, chairs would not be provided. Well the point is - it is incorrect to offer it then not provide it. As stated, this does not cater for someone who may have a disability that is not visible. I made it clear that I could see that the staff member who took us to the bar had forgotten as I went up to him to address the point and he was surprised. Clinton said āhe wouldnāt have forgottenā. I fail to understand how Clinton can comment on the state of mind of someone he was not there to see, if at all. Clinton did not address any of the other points. Summary Clinton said, āWhat do you want out of this?ā I replied, it is feedback to try and resolve the systemic issues and a refund for my dinner. As I do not want to go back to Banchalina after the treatment I received and the related issues outlined above. Clinton said, āi canāt do thatā. I did not receive an apology, the theme of the phone call was to āattackā me and ādefendā the restaurant and Clinton was not actively listening or from my view - taking the points on board. In fact, i feel even worse after the phone call, in particular being discriminated against. Clinton did say, āIf I choose to come back I will be welcomed with open armsā. Given the factual circumstances outlined above, I do not feel confident that a plan of action would be put in place to enable things to change and for me to have a positive experience that is claimed on the website for Bacchanalia. It is clear to my mind that Clinton wanted to engage in an argument and wanted to complete a ātick boxā exercise to respond to me and quickly end the phone call. That is my view. I would encourage others not to eat at this restaurant. You will be disappointed not only with the food but with the staff.

The interior of the restaurant is unique. The employees were friendly, we cannot complain for the service. However, the food in this restaurant is an absolute rip-off. Food is bland, uncooked pasta, overcooked ribeye, ridiculous small portions and way overpriced for the quality of the food it serves. Not worthy just for posting pictures.

Our expectations wasnāt very high after reading reviews here at TripAdvisor, but still wanted to try it out. Arriving to restaurant you were greeted by a friendly guard, in the entrance there where a line o people waited to be seated. We where seated upstairs, and up there you missed all the decorations and the ambiance, so we asked to move down. The service was stressful, they asked for orders at least 10 times, when we clearly wasnāt ready to order. Once we order the food arrived in a minute, and the main course arrived before we have finished the starter. We where then enlighten that this is the meaning of the restaurant, but why the sell, starter/ main course/ side. We where confused. Didnāt order dessert, had enough of bad service. Cool music and setting, maybe as a group of people it would have been better.
Be the first to ReplyBizarre Decor and Atmosphere
I tried for weeks to get a booking here with some friends as we walked past many times and regular visitors to other Richard Caring restaurants. It looked interesting. Initial welcome was good from girls in flouncy Greek Style dresses and after that the mood changed. The staff were dressed in Togas and espadrilles and while some seemed genuinely friendly others were sadly tarred with the "I am doing you a favour by serving you" attitude. The decor as mentioned by many is amazing, a bit too disneyesque for me, and the whole theme was a bit overdone for my taste. The food quality was very good, and is served as it becomes ready (we were "instructed" when we ordered, I think more for their convenience than ours). So plates came over a period of time, not a problem for us and worked quite well. The menu was interesting and there is certainly something for everyone. Prices are on the high side and wines really expensive. Cheapest on the menu its Ā£88 a bottle and desserts start at Ā£18 so we left and went of cake and coffee elsewhere. Our bill was just over Ā£500 for lunch for 4 and I wouldn't say we were full when we left. We all agreed that we had enjoyed the experience but would't return as for what we ate it was an expensive treat and the service was nothing special.

Be very careful booking this place, I have booked with my family but couldnāt make it for the time as we travelled from the south and stuck in the traffic, they said we are charging you Ā£40 per person and then after me arguing they have agreed to change it to another dare, when I have contacted the restaurant to add one person they said not possible and they said you will be charged as I have mentioned we have my family member with us, Robinson who I have talked to said itās not possible and I canāt cancel as it has moved once. He said he can move it for the last time but we are not allowed to cancel or change otherwise we will be charged. This is absolutely disgusting, you are forcing people to attend and if for any reason they canāt and they cancel they will be charged. This is ridiculous and disgraceful, shame on you
Be the first to ReplyOver priced , over rated and over done
My friend and I were looking forward to a lovely evening here but from the minute you walk in it feels like a 90ās themed dinner. Yes the ceiling and surroundings are fab and the bar staff outstanding but itās really odd that the staff are dressed up in Greek servant clothes. Once we were seated it took a good 30/40 minutes to get the wine menu and order food and that was only after asking. Also ages to place orders. Food ok when it arrived but nothing special. After our main course, everything removed from our table and presented with the bill and asked to leave as table needed. Not offered a dessert menu or coffee and when we complained the extremely rude waiter told us he had been over at least 3 times and we hadnāt said anything about the delays experienced. Awful restaurant, not very nice people so I couldnāt recommend anything other than popping in for a cocktail as those guys are fantastic.
Be the first to ReplyVegas to London and back
In my old times places like this were labelled as "kitsch" (which works in Vegas but not in Mayfair I guess). Absolutely overpriced for small portions or normal pasta dishes of medium palatable quality. 2 people, risotto and linguine, fried zucchini flowers and (small) cheese crocchette, no wine: 180 GBP. Doorman absolutely unwelcoming in a too large uniform. Service at the level of a subburra hostaria with waitress tapping on your shoulder and a whirlwind of different waiters who try hard but feel awkward for a hefty 14.5% service fee and wrong priced items on the bill (beware!). Not sure about the fad around this place, but absolutely not a place I will return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat interiors not great service or food
Beautiful interior, however bad service lets this place down. Cheeky chap at the door giving several unkind jabs about our outfits and throughout our stay, telling us to step aside while he checks in other guests, found this to be extremely unprofessional. We were 30 mins early, fair enough but we were told we are going to HAVE to buy a drink at the bar only to find out soon as we bought a drink, the table was ready as were serval others upstairs. This was not a 5ā greeting as I would expect and didnāt make us feel welcomed. Far too obvious that it was about spending as much as possible rather than giving a great service. Waiters and staff either look uncomfortable or act as though they were too good for the guests although one waitress was lovely. We left hungry as the food was bland, not hot, small portions and over priced. so far it was only good for the pictures which is very sad for such a gorgeous place. We both felt we would not return.
Be the first to Replyevening dinner
Came here with friends on a Wednesday evening for a dinner. The interior design is sadly the best thing about this place. We got decent flatbread for a starter which tasted good but definitely wasn't worth paying Ā£18 for. Our main courses arrived while we were still finishing starters. Risotto and linguine pasta was very tasty. We felt a bit rushed by the staff with choosing the dishes, and drinks. We did feel like we were dining in a museum though. We stayed just for over an hour and left as the vibe was a bit weird, it is not really a place for friends to catch up and chat in my opinion. It would not return in the nearest future.
Be the first to ReplyBad service
Food was delicious but the service is bad, we were rushed to leave, we got the bill when we didn't ask for it. I do not recommend for gatherings with friends or dates.
