Ok i usually dont like to write reviews but i had to given im from Nepal and i think i have a right to let people know if the food represents authentic Nepali food. I ordered the chicken dal bhat(thali) which is pretty much what we eat for lunch and dinner every day in Nepal. It is hard to mess up given we have to cook it every day. My first issue was the chicken curry(soup). It was an over salty and soupy mess that contained more water, skin, organs and bones than meat as you can see from the pictures. It seemed like they bought a whole chicken then used the meat for other dishes like sekuwa and dumped the leftovers into the chicken soup. My second issue was the bodi tama(beans and bamboo shoots) which contained 0 tama and only bodi as you can see from the pictures. This was also a watery mess with a hint of tama flavor. Maybe this was the bottom of the barrel leftovers or maybe they dont use enough tama. Either way they should have given another sabji instead if they were running low. My third issue is the aloo jira which i ordered as an appetizer but unfortunately had no salt. My fourth issue is the fact that this thali had three soups, rice, tiny bit of saag and some pickles. I have no idea what they are thinking when they put this dish together. Usually if you have a soupy chicken curry then you pair it with a dry sabji like aloo kauli. You dont add another soup like aloo tama on top of an extremely soupy daal. And if you have aloo tama as the sabji then the chicken curry should be more gravy like. Anyone unfamiliar with Nepali food might think that all we eat is rice with some salty soup. Anyway i hope this review gets to their ears and they rethink the way they do their thali.
