Consistently good!
Visited today for the 4th time in the last couple of years - it’s every time we visit the lakes. My son insisted I write this review because we all say how much we enjoy it every time we come and he felt it was only fair we do a write up! Great food and great service!! We have been lucky enough to live in Asia for a number years which enabled us to visit Thailand a lot. It’s a bit fancier than a classic Thai and there is some slight tailoring for a British palate but it is still authentic and very good!
Worth a visit
We popped into this restaurant in Kemal whilst visiting the lakes. From the outside it looks fairly unassuming but with good reviews. We went in and despite no booking they managed to fit us in upstairs. There has clearly been a lot of money spent on the restaurant as it looked really modern with quality furnishings. On reviewing the menu it’s not cheap but we thought let’s give it a go. We ordered spring rolls to start and then I ordered king prawn massaman curry with fried rice. Now I know that Thais aren’t known for their fried rice but it wasn’t good and was more like sticky rice. The curry though was amazing with plenty of prawns and peanut flavour. Will def visit again

What a fantastic experience. This is a must visit restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is awesome. The staff very knowledgeable. Fantastic food at great value for the whole experience. The restaurant was fully booked for a Monday night.That says it all considering its a big restaurant. Can't find a fault at all. Go along you won't be disappointed.

Great spot with great food! I've had so many dishes from there and they're all great. However, the best thing here is their Spring Rolls! They are so delicious and the sauce is addictive. I'd drink that sauce if they gave me enough of it.
Outstanding
Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing! My parents had the banquet for 2 and I had the prawn pad Thai - gorgeous food very well presented and tasty. This was the first time I had been back since they extended upstairs and it’s great - you are not squeezed in like some places, plenty of room, and the chairs are very comfortable. Staff are friendly and polite. Cannot fault the place. Probably the best place to eat in kendal.
Lovely food
Decided to collect a takeaway from Bangkok 7 whilst staying over recently in Kendal. Fast friendly service, the food was superb, can highly recommend the Phad Thai and Phad Mee. £26 did seem on the high side for a couple of takeaway meals, but would certainly return.
Dinner
Our first visit here and will certainly not be our last. We had heard so many good things about Bangkok 7 and it certainly lives up to it. The food and service was super, thankyou.
Great food and amazing service.
We stumbled across this place in passing and decided to give it a try. We were presently surprised the food was amazing, the venue was very nice inside and the service was fantastic, the staff there worked hard and gave their 100%. I would recommend this place 100%.
Great food but pricey.
Very good food and ambiance. A real treat. The food is a little “westernised” for the palate as nothing is “Thai” spicy. We all enjoyed everything. The only down side is the rip off prices on the drinks. £7.50 for a pint of average lager. £9.95 for a glass of wine. Madness. All in all for two courses for 4 people with 4 drinks ended up costing £50 a head with a 10% tip. That’s very expensive.
Excellent food and staff
I booked due to the positive reviews, unfortunately, I booked the wrong day (for me, as we turned up a day early). The staff were very understanding and luckily could find a table for two, despite the place being quite busy - so thank you for this. The secondly the food is absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection and full of flavour. It's a shame we don't live in the area as this restaurant would be on our regular list. For sure when we visit Kendal again, we will book a table!
waiter was not nice, very rude
Nice enough food. The service was okay. The only thing was one of the waiters being very rude. Don’t go if you don’t like horrible waiters !!!!
Favourite restaurant in the world.
I have to say this restaurant is my favourite restaurant in the world. The food is amazing. The duck spring rolls as a starter are amazing and I had the roast duck curry and it didn’t disappoint. I come a few times a year when I come to Kendal and it’s always fantastic
Delicious food, excellent service
Visited on a Wednesday evening. Ordered the set menu for two people. Starters arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious. Set menu included three different mains to share and were excellent. The red curry was easily the best I've ever tasted. Price wise on the higher side however more the worth it, would definitely return.

Went here for valentines night. What fantastic food and so much of it to. Lots of choice on menu and staff were great ! Definitely book here if you are in the Kendal area you will not be disappointed…. 😀
Thai Treat
From the moment you enter this place the scene is set for your Thai experience. The clean oriental styled restaurant and friendly staff set your expectations high and it doesn’t disappoint. We sat upstairs (which is vast) and were dealt with by attentive and enthusiastic staff. The menu is extensive with curry’s, stir fries, noodles/rice and sizzling plate options. All dishes selected were cooked well and the portion sizes are good. Four people having starters, main courses and alcoholic drinks averaged £42 ppp. What you waiting for.
Tasty!
By far, the best Thai food we have eaten. The service was impeccable and the decor was impressive. We will definitely visit again when in the area.
The absolute worse Thai food I've ever had.
It was not saucy. Each dish was mostly noodles with hardly any veggies. I've never had bad drunken noodles. This was the first. It didn't even taste like Thai food. This restaurant had me looking up Bangkok to see if it was in Thailand or China

I have been eating at the Bangkok for a really long time
I have been eating at the Bangkok for a really long time and I really do like it but I actually like the one at 15 and Dequindre better mainly because this one is up and down. It just depends on who's cooking in the back I guess. But I still do like this one. They have good food. It's just a hit or miss sometimes.
Pad Thai is mushy, gross with nasty flavor.

Booking not found and poor treatment
I booked a table through dishcult for this restaurant and when we got there after having to wait 2 hours in Kendal for our table they said they had no reservation from me . I usually photographed every reservation but hadn’t done so this one time though it had been confirmed on the dishcukt site . I asked for their internet so I could check and they said they didn’t have internet !!! I am disabled and hobbled in on my walking sticks after parking my Mobilty scooter outside as there’s a step into the restaurant and it’s we found out that night it is not disability friendly . My partner wanted to go to this restaurant despite it having very little choices where vegan food is concerned . Once in the restaurant they said they could only fit us in at 8 when I’d booked the table for 6.30 . I will not be going there again . Places nowadays should be disability friendly also and therefore is being discriminatory towards disabled customers . Please do not book there anyone with a Mobilty issue . I am also extremely upset that they couldn’t find my reservation and seemed not to give a dam when I explained I had booked and it was difficult for me to get in their establishment in the first place . . Bad service all round .
Our "go too' place to eat 10/10
We are always looking for that special "go too" place that is something special and Bancock7 is the place. We have been a few times now, with family and as a couple, it is amazing. The ambience, the food and service are 10/10 the absolute best. Cant recommend this place enough, a visit is a joyous occasion for me, I love it.

Nice place- mediocre food It's handicap accessible- while there may be some tight turns. There is pickup or eat in. When you walk inside, you can seat yourself as an employee greets you. The radio is playing and since we went on a Sunday, it was pretty deserted. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating!! The hospitality was very nice! The sauce portions are appropriate to their names (light sauce, normal, heavy, etc) and same with the spice! The medium is pretty spicy so be careful if you've got sensitive taste buds! I ordered the pad se-ew with light sauce and was disappointed to see that it was burnt (picture shown). It definitely affected the flavor which was a bummer. When we told an employee about the burnt tofu, he offered to bring out more but I declined since I had already waited a bit for the food. The Thai iced tea was tasty and filling. I never had it before and the waitress offered a sampler which was a great size. I didn't order the full size drink because the sampler was plenty for me. The hot tea came in a little container that you could serve yourself by putting the container on top of the cup and push down. There are restrooms available for patrons but not for the public. The bathrooms are very clean!! Also, there are handicap stalls.

Been a while since I had been there, used be a more regular spot for me so I had some time and a taste for Thai so I popped in. Ordered my usual Pad Prik with beef extra hot, my one disappointment was my server entered as medium, not nearly spicy enough for me, but still satisfied my craving. Service was right on , was also served shrimp chips and soup for lunch, all really good to me. I will continue to come back but need some more spice!!!

Perfect in every way
Wow! What a fabulous evening. When we arrived we were immediately brought a large carafe of iced tap water, without having to ask for it, which was refreshed during the meal; again without prompting. We enjoyed a 3 course meal and every single thing was both delicious and exquisitely presented. Despite it being very busy, our food arrived quickly but not so quickly that we felt rushed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decorations in the restaurant are beautiful.
Beautiful decor and great food
Came recently for dinner. The restaurant is set over a couple of floors and we were upstairs. The decor throughout is beautifully done, a lovely setting. We shared prawn crackers, a big portion which is never a bad thing! I had chicken phad krapow for my main which was just as I like it-spicy enough without being overpowering. My husband's laarb salad was beautifully presented with excellent flavours (he did find it a little watery underneath though, just a personal preference). Would come back if we're in Kendal again.
Forced to order more food than we wanted. No set menu. No policy.
Terrible experience for Valentines. When ordering, we were told we HAD to order two main meals when we only wanted to share a curry between us due to portions being quite big on previous experience (bare in mind there was no set menu, they just decided it was their policy). We had to tell the waiting staff 4 times that we didn’t want 2 portions even though they still brought us both. We sent one back to the kitchen and was immediately brought back with the waiter telling us ‘you didn’t order enough food’ and told us to take it. We refused as we didn’t order it! Another table leaned across and said that they had the same problem and told they had to order more food than they wanted. Response was ‘it’s in our policy’ although no policy was shown.
Forced to order food I didn’t want
Never before have I been told that it’s restaurant policy that I have to order 2 main courses as a couple. We had the starter for 2 and we are both on a diet and don’t eat a lot so just wanted the starters and a main between us. Starters are £10 each and mains £20 each. But it’s not about the money. But being forced to buy an extra main at £20 that we didn’t want was out of order. We weren’t the only ones as the table next to us had the same problem. The food was cold and had to send one back. I know they were busy but after forcing us to order you would expect the food to be hot at least. Shame because it had been ok in the past. Will be going to a different one in the future.

First time customer, Ordered vegetable curry with chicken for lunch take out. Asked for no eggplant or water chestnuts. Got back to office, opened container and what is this???? 2 pea pods and 2 pieces of broccoli, a few carrots and celery. This is veggie????????? Waste of my money and time.
Excellent Food and Service - No Complaints
Our friends use this restaurant regularly, but this was the first time we have been there. We weren't disappointed at all. On arrival the decor was really lovely and the friendly staff showed us to our table. We asked about the spicing and were told that the 'hot' could be reduced. Great for people who don't like really spicy food. Very varied menu with with all sorts of different choices. The food was excellent and had great flavours. Couldn't find anything to criticise at all. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Will certainly be going back soon. One of the best restaurants in Kedal. 😀

A combination of excellent, friendly and attentive staff, superb food in decent quantities with sensible prices and a lovely setting make this the best Thai meal I've ever had. Really tasty. I couldn't decide from the menu, it all looked amazing and the results were tremendous when they arrived. I can't wait to return. Superb. Thanks to all concerned.

This is literally the best restaurant in Kendal. The massaman is so good I have dreams about it. The decor is beautiful, the place is spotlessly clean and the service great.

Me and my wife went to Bangkok 7 for afternoon eats my wife had seafood spicy curry and sticky rice and I had sliced duck in red curry plus egg fried rice and a bottle of wine excellent food and the service was excellent too we will definitely go back

Fabulous Thai Dinner
Had a fabulous dinner with friends in this lovely Thai restaurant . Made a last minute booking and it didn't disappoint in any way . Food was wonderfully presented, staff friendly and attentive, decor modern ,and seating was very comfortable . Everyone had something different and portions were generous ,all the choices made were well liked and presentation was beautiful. Overall I would say this was the best Thai food I have ever had and would certainly recommend a visit .
