Worth it for the curry rice with tonkatsu, which is so tasty and fresh. However, the service is pretty slow. Expect to wait a long time to order and then a long time to get your food (40+ min!). The staff is friendly though!
Food is like good home cooked Japanese cuisine.
Best place I know in the Portland area. Awesome Tempura and sushi. Cheerful ladies at your service. This has always been our go to Japanese.

I love this place.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and while the service may take a bit longer, it's worth the wait. The staff are always friendly, and it's a great spot if you want to take your time, relax, and enjoy your meal. Thank you for always tak
Little piece of Japan lives here.
Such a great place fore some authentic japanese cuisine. This is the type of food you'd find in the smaller towns of japan. Mostly the same but somehow cozier. The staff are so kind. If you want to come here on the weekday there is typically

Have been coming her for over 10 years.
Consistency is good. Evenings can be a long wait, service of food can get backed up so you need to be patient. If you're not in a hurry, this is a place for good food. We love the bento choices, udon and sukiyaki dishes.
Great, authentic Japanese food.
I wish they also had the authentic speed restaurants in Japan have, but we can't win'em all. Honestly I like Ikenohana's miso soup over any miso soup I've had in Japan. Give it a try!
Memorable experience
Really delicious! Banya hana seafood salad combined with sake: perfect. But also the yam (Africa!) and the grilled tofu. Combined with Japanese atmosphere: recipe for a memorable evening!

Excellent Teriyaki Bento boxes! Served with teriyaki chicken, tempura vegetables and shrimp, sushi, salad with a yummy miso salad dressing, and a flavorful soup. It's filling, flavorful. It's my favorite every time I go!
Excellent sushi and sashimi! Very fresh and clean seafood.
Authentic Japanese food. Always busy and just one wait person, but they do a fantastic job! Eat here often and tip well, and you will have a happy life. :)

For this 1/2 Japanese woman, I say it's the best Japanese restaurant around! Chicken katsu is made with breast meat. Tonkatsu is made with pork loin. My mom, who was born and raised in Japan, and 100% Japanese, likes their nabeyaki udon. My husba
Always great.
..This is such a treat for us....Service is deliberate and consistent with great respect and care.. Ambiance is ok, more fun sitting at the bar to watch the chef prepare everything...

I did take outs but recently I dined in for the first in awhile. We were one of the first to get seats but the ordering still took forever. With two servers who are also a little older plus maybe fewer people making food, our meal took 2 hours and we
FIRST: Hours are wrong.
I have tried to submit a photo to Yelp to have them correct it but they seem to not care. The restaurant closes promptly in the 8 o'clock hour. OK with that out of the way. The restaurant feels like you've stepped into a new world. They have no wind

Ikenohana was always a childhood favorite of mine so I thought I would bring my son here for date night. We arrived around 5:30 on a weekday and it was only about half full. I was happy to see that the menu was the same as when I was a kid and we bot
Simply delicious.
Decent prices for the quality of food. It's my go to when I want something nicer than track sushi and my husband (who doesn't like seafood) has a lot of options to pick from with their regular menu.
It is a recommended delicious izakaya located in the office district of Kitahama.
"Banya Hana" A short 6 to 7-minute walk from Sakaisuji-Hommachi, this is a cozy restaurant with a calming atmosphere. The seating consists solely of a "Konoji( "L" turned sideways to the right.)" shaped counter encircli
We decided to try a new sushi joint.
The place is extremely small. My family got all of their sushi. I had to wait another 45 minutes to get my Bento box. We were literally there for an hour and 40 minutes. The sushi wasn't extraordinary it was average.

This is a small and authentic-looking Japanese restaurant nestled in a plaza. The curry is a must order! My friend had the curry rice and I had the curry udon, both were so much better than Glico cubes! They were both thick, creamy, and filled with g
Incredible hidden gem
Stumbled upon this outstanding little place with incredible food that is worthy of a Michelin. If you have ever watched Midnight Diner on Netflix, then this place is for you! Highly recommend the sashimi, grilled fish and Saba onigiri. Pretty much e

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Banya Hana Osaka at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Banya Hana Osaka page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Banya Hana Osaka to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Banya Hana Osaka!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
