Bar Takito Chicago Reviews from The Last Year
I visited this place on a weekday and it wasn't crowded.
We tried chicken taco, mushroom tacos, potatoes, and 3 house salsas. The chicken taco was my favorite, especially on Taco Tuesday when you get 3 tacos for $11. The drinks were also good. The service was fast and the server was attentive. It's a good spot for tasty, affordable food
We went there for brunch and it was a very nice atmosphere
We went there for brunch and it was a very nice atmosphere with a cool interior and they had the March madness game on. I got the mushroom skillet and it was very delicious. The polenta in this dish really made it unique and creamy and I enjoyed it. The coffee was very average but they did have a variety of non-alcoholic drinks that were tasty and fresh. They had many different brunch options and also taco options. I would definitely return here for a fun brunch with friends, or to get a drink.
My friends and I swung by on a weekday for a quick bite.
We got Salsa trio that had 3 house salsas with chips, chicken tinga tacos, mushroom tacos, carne asada bowl and a side of roasted potatoes (which was huge in quantity for a side dish). Everything was pretty good in taste; it didn't disappoint. Also it is very reasonably priced. $11 for 4 chicken tacos. Not bad. Overall, pretty chill vibe, flavorful food, and very good and attentive service. I will be visiting again!
Loved their taco Tuesday! Was a great deal, the brisket
Loved their taco Tuesday! Was a great deal, the brisket taco was the best! The fish was definitely the worst, wouldn't recommend getting that one. The mango Fresca was different but we liked it. The fish and chicken tacos were average. I would say the restaurant is pretty big and has a large space. What surprised me was how nice the bathrooms are! I would come back.
It's literally steps away from a train stop.
They have a great happy hour menu and lite bites. The bartender was polite, nice, and welcoming. I had a serrano pineapple margarita, tasted a lil spicy, with a kick. They dehydrate their own dried pineapple for garnishes. Make their own tajin inspired powder. The gauc was interesting, it was topped with cucumbers too, maybe they do that here up north. It was limey and creamy, but not spicy. The salsa was tasty, smokey and had a creamy consistency too. I would recommend having the chicken tinga tacos, juicy shredded chicken and carnitas. The suadero, brisket taco was a bit dry and lacking in favor. All in all a good spot for drinks, and some lite bites.
Met up with some friends for brunch.
Food was pretty good! We shared amongst the table so we got to try it out. Two tacos for some of the prices were decent but tastes great! Also, unlimited mimosas for $22? It was a done deal. Servers were great, the vibes of the restaurant definitely gives off fun with the homies vibe! Also, it's to the right of the green line so it's really easy to commute to! Appetizers were tasty, tacos were great, eggs cooked well, and Mexican shakshuka? Really good! We'll be back!
First of all I want to say I love the vibes.
The lights are dim, and the restaurant is very colorful with type writers hanging on all the walls. The chairs are cushioned are extremely comfortable as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He knew the menu very well. The food was AMAZING. Everything was delicious but I've never had anything like the hamachi ceviche, and I definitely will be coming back for that one. Another favorite was the Suadero Tacos made my boyfriend and I speechless. We definitely will be coming back to try the rest of the menu
WE'RE BACK, BABY, and of course, Bar Takito NEVER
WE'RE BACK, BABY, and of course, Bar Takito NEVER disappoints! Being in a relationship where both parties have full time jobs, Valentine's Day is always celebrated the weekend before! We secured a brunch reservation at 11, which is right when Bar Takito opens. We arrived a little early, not realizing at the time that we were the first reservation of the day. Rather than have us wait in the cold, the staff was kind enough to let us come inside and warm up! Alejandro was our server and he was AWESOME! Very attentive and was happy to give us his recs (I have trouble choosing, since I am so loyal to my French toast- LOL!). The meal, as always, was fantastic. A favorite starter for us is the Salsa Trio! We had finished our chips, we still had salsa left, so I asked a server assistant if we could have some to-go cups! Instead, he was SO KIND as to bring back a brand new trio of salsas, packed to-go! I did not get this gentleman's name, but he made our day! Thanks again, Bar Takito!
Shaina was absolutely amazing.
Please be sure to visit her, she will make your taco Tuesday amazing. Always smiling and so polite.
Great place for food and drinks! I've been there for brunch
Great place for food and drinks! I've been there for brunch and at night. Great time both times.
Came in for a late lunch.
The place was somewhat busy and loud. We started off with some drinks. I got the mezcal Last Word and my husband got the Media Naranja lager. My drink was pretty good, but my husband's beer tasted more like an IPA than a lager... so keep that in mind if you order it. For the appetizer we ordered the esquites con camarones. This was not exactly what we expected. It was just okay. It was very garlic heady as if the shrimp were cooked in garlic and then tossed into the creamed corn. The shrimp were also somewhat chewy as they were overcooked. For the main entree we got Chicken Tinga, Pork Belly, and Suadera tacos. The chicken Tinga was okay... it was heavy on the red bell pepper flavor and spicier than expected. The pork belly was a pretty cool concept and tasted good. I recommend those. The brisket Suadera tacos were well cooked. Good flavor. Overall, the food was just okay. As for the service, it was a little slow. Drinks took a while to be brought to the table and the server did not clear the table for a while even though we were done with our food. It took way longer than expected. Probably won't come back for no other reason than our whole experience just being okay.
They have one of my favorite happy hours.
The margaritas and vegan/veggie tacos are so good. I also love the guacamole. It's small and cute on the inside with the occasional live band.
Cool combo of flavors
I had the veggie bowl -- coconut rice, hard boiled egg, slaw, grilled peppers, and salsa. So yummy. Guacamole, homemade salsa, and chips were top notch. Gluten free options were plentiful. Designed to be very "communal" with long tables, but has smaller tables for couples and smaller groups. I can imagine it gets hopping at night, but it was a relaxed atmosphere at lunch.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
