Barb & Ernie's Old Country Inn Edmonton Reviews from The Last Year
Lovely people, OK service, but BAD food. I won't go back
My son and I went for breakfast last Saturday. His "scrambled" eggs were inedible. Hard, deep brown, cold and flat like an omelette. So he didn't eat any of his breakfast except that first unfortunate taste. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was terrible. I could barely cut through the stale, over-toasted english muffins. Though both breakfasts said they came served with Hash Browns, they actually came with cube potato-like things that were either way under-cooked (raw) and cold or so badly overcooked I could not chew them and had to spit them out. I was a trouper and ate what I could of my own meal. So, if lovely people, OK service and crappy food will sustain your restaurant experience, then all good here. I will not be going back as I won't - CAN'T - chance that kind of food experience again. When the hostess at the cash desk, asked how our meal was I was honest and said that it was not good and that my son could not even eat his. She gave me a sad look and charged me full price without batting an eye or even asking why or what went wrong or what they could differently. This is another reason I would not go back. If the hostess isn't going to pursue some kind of happy ending to my visit I don't hold out much - make that ANY - hope for the future. I am very disappointed as I know this restaurant is kind of an Edmonton classic & oldie, though after my and my son's experience I cannot figure out why. Maybe they are past their due date??? If you go I pray it all goes better for you.
I went for Sunday brunch with friends.
Although there was a line to get into the restaurant, it moved very quickly and my party was seated within minutes. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The service and wait time for our meals were very quick. The best part of my visit was the quality of my breakfast- fresh, good quality ingredients!
Amazing Food and Service
When I used to live in Edmonton, Barb & Ernie's was the restaurant of choice. I have eaten many meals there including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meals are always served fresh and hot! I enjoy the food immensely as I am from Germany myself. I enjoy all of the German meals and keep coming back for more. I have taken many friends here to try this gem in the city. I remember one year while I was living in Edmonton, my mother came to visit from BC. This was the first place (and ended up being the only place that mom wanted to eat at) that I took my mother. She delighted in the visit with Barb and Ernie as they spoke German to each other. That was the deal breaker for mom. After the first initial visit, mom always wanted to go to Barb & Ernie's because she felt comfortable there and also loved speaking her native language. I highly recommend you bring your appetit with you as the meals are very large and filling. I would also recommend anyone to go there as it is a gem in the city of Edmonton. Esther
The food quality and variety are great.
The only criticism i have is that it is consistently cold. Last weekend i had the eggs benedict. It was great but i would love it if it came hot or at least very warm.
Great place for brunch
Great food / huge servings / personal service. Very friendly owners and staff. Food is consistantly good.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

My reservation expired but I did not get a credit and I see no way to cancel. How do I the funds back as a credit?

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
