best Korean restaurant ever great service taste so
best Korean restaurant ever great service taste so good and people are so kind! If you looking for Korean restaurant I recommend here
Be the first to ReplyStill strong.
Came here for stew after a chilly night at Yankee Stadium, and it delivered. Ambience is the same, tables are close to other tables but it's not too bad. Well lit and clean. Service at the tables is a little slow, they'll mostly leave you alone once your orders are in so it takes a bit of effort to get their attention for more water or the check. On to the food. Hot, spicy and satisfying. The galbi hits different in person vs. delivery. I wish they had more varieties for banchan but you'll also run out of table space. Pancake is a little soggy but still delicious. Available soju flavors are good. The galbi and soup combo is top tier for value and flavor. I happened to put in a DoorDash order for pickup while dining, hoping to pick it up on my way out to take home. Ended up being 20 minutes past my pickup time but when I went to the front desk they told me the order wasn't ready. Didn't make a lot of sense. The hostess stepped away, presumably to check for my order. While she was away, a person off the street came in and grabbed a few orders, while trying to explain to me that he was looking for his orders. I called out to 2 busboys nearby to ask for help but they ignored me. The person ended up walking out with 2 bags. When the hostess came back I told her what happened and she sent someone out to chase the person down, likely to verify that those were their orders. At this point I was pretty upset because it was apparent that this was poorly managed. I should not be deputized to look after their takeout and delivery orders that were sitting out without supervision. And now I'm thinking that they lost my order the same way since plenty of time had passed (40minutes) since I put my order in. That said, it was past 11pm though they were still pumping out takeout and delivery orders. The manager either noticed or was informed and he came by to speak with me and eventually to hand me my order. Mistakes happen, I get that. The manager said that people had walked off with food that wasn't theirs several times that day already. I'll give them credit for service recovery as they packed extra banchan and rice for my order in the end.

This is one of our go-to spots for Korean food when in this part of NYC. Consistent service and food. This place stays pretty busy. However today we lucked out, there was only about a 15min wait to get a table. The service and food were both good. I would say considering the area and type of Korean food, it was reasonably priced.

This place gets super busy because it's just a well known basic korean spot. But the bibimbap was just so mediocre. It was so bland and severely depended on the gochujang for flavor. They are super generous with the side dishes though!

Came here for lunch with friends during the week and got here before it go really busy. Place has 2 floors and didn't need a reservation. If we had gone prime lunch hour, we would probably have to wait a bit... Was able to get seated upstairs fairly quickly. Service was good. Menu has plenty to select from... and despite the name being Tofu House, they have plenty more than just tofu. Didn't have any starters but have to come back for dinner another time as love japchae with beef and the seafood pancake looks good too. We all ordered the hot stone bibimbap with beef for lunch and it came with sides as part entree combo... which you can eat while waiting for your entree. Be careful as the stone is very hot! It was delicious especially for a cold day outside.. sure warms you up and will smell like it too afterwards.

I've only had their pre-packaged medium tofu soup from the stores. It's a quick easy delicious meal. I was surprised to see how many people just come alone to have a meal here. There were 5 of us waiting. It didn't take too long. They're very efficient and quick here. The place is much much bigger than I thought. I was shocked that my fried fish was pretty warm when I got it. I ate the whole fish and only left a small portion of bones. I really liked their cucumber kimchi as well. The kimchi beef tofu soup was good. I guess I forgot how sour the kimchi can be. The tofu was very good. Glad to know the packaged ones are consistent with the restaurants. There wasn't a whole lot of beef. Overall the meal was perfect for a cold day. Filling but not overly filling.

BCD never fails to be the same comfort food you can find at all their locations. After a night out in Ktown, ending the night at BCD is just what you need. Luckily, they are open until 5am. First of all, you are served a variety of banchans that are unlimited. They're refreshing and delicious to go as a starter and with your meal. My go-to is the Mushroom Tofu Soup ($18.99), which comes with rice and a fried fish. If you're here with another, I like to share a Combo ($30.99). Such a comforting meal with great, unlimited banchans.

I can always count on BCD Tofu House to be open and to not have a wait when it's past midnight and I'm ready to eat. I love the fish they always bring out and their side dishes are one of my favorites. Especially the lotus root, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. I wish they had fishcake though. Their tofu stews are a staple and come out pretty quickly. The medium spice level is like the perfect amount of spice for me, and the broth is rich and always hits the spot.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a quick brunch before leaving NYC.
Came here at 11am on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. Plenty of seating! Started with the seafood pajeon and lots of yummy side dishes. The side dishes were very good especially the fried fish! We got the seafood tofu soup and the assorted seafood soup. the assorted seafood had beef and assortment of seafood (clams, shrimp..). it hit the spot! definitely one of the better tofu soup spots i've been to!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good but the service sucks.
They "accidentally" gave us 2 rice bowls when we were "supposed to" have one and took one away. What if we had touched to rice bowl?! They didn't say anything and just took it. After that they gave the rice bowl to another table which were a table of two we were a table of five. They got two rice bowl while we got only one!

This place is always busy, in a good way, you can walk in at 7pm or 3am and people are happily eating away. Nomz: The banchan here are good and you can ask for more per usual. I personally come here for the tofu soup, beef tofu medium spicy is my jam. The spice is good, the tofu is soft and they don't skimp on the beef. Most of the time I get the combo if available at the hour I go. My tofu soup and either spicy bulgogi or the short ribs. The shorts ribs are nicely seasoned and very tasty. The bulgogi is a bigger portion and better deal, I usually eat all of my soup and have enough bulgogi left over for an entire meal at home. Drinks: Soju is good, the peach one is on the sweeter side.Service: Once you're seated it's prompt, efficient and very cordial. Ambiance: Huge place for NYC, upstairs and downstairs, simple and to the point in decor, good place for groups. Nope or Dope: Dope, this is my tofu soup place and it never fails me, will keep coming back! Nomzzz
Be the first to ReplyNever a disappointment when I eat here.
And it's a lot. Always fresh ingredients! And best Kimchi Tofu Soup. Got the ham and sausage one this evening! Open late is always the plus! Def my top places in NYC and def #1 on 32nd!

Best tofu soup at all time! I went here probably 7+ times and they never disappoint! I would recommend going on monday-thursday (I'm not really sure about friday) because they offer combos on those days. They serve food in a timely manner too!

I've been here twice now with coworkers and have enjoyed both times. The first I had tofu soup, think I got seafood and mild. The milf was ok could've used maybe a little more flavor. Last night I had the squid hot stone special which came with a side of tofu soup. Both were delicious. The squid was good, not too chewy. The soup had beef, shrimp and clams - so good. The staff is attentive and pricing is really good for the value. Really enjoy this restaurant and want to bring my boyfriend one day.

There was a long wait time but I understand because it was dinner time and the restaurant was busy. The food tasted great. I got hot stone bibimbap. The servers were kind. I'd love to come again.

Food: I've been craving spicy raw marinated crab for the longest and was so glad this place is open so late. It's the perfect meal right after a late concert. The crab was absolutely delicious with the rice and I especially love the savory taste of the soon tofu. The crab has a bit of sweetness which is expected from this cuisine but it had plenty of meat. The soon tofu had a good amount of everything (beef, tofu, shrimp, etc.) and was surprisingly enough on its own. Since we got the combo, it makes it even cheaper than buying them separately and very worth the money.Service: Because we came on a Friday night, waiting was expected. Even though there was a wait, we got in a lot quicker than I expected. The waiters were attentive and accommodating which always feels nice. Refills for water came regularly so we were never without a drink. Overall, very caring!Ambience: The vibe at night is just so much better at BCD anyways. The decor is simple but appealing and the rotations of people coming in and out felt nice. It wasn't too loud nor too quiet even though there was so many people here to eat. Overall, super nice experience and I'm looking forward to coming back here!

We came here for the sole purpose of somewhere to eat after karaoke, drunk, and at 2am, so that's the context. For that kind of vibe and that level of expectation, it's pretty good! The service was great, it's a very spacious and clean restaurant, and the sides and portions are massiveIt's a bit pricey for the quality, but that is whats expected of midtown ktown restaurants in nyc. Quality is okay, it's not the best over, but it gets the job done under those circumstances! I would definitely choose this place again after a late night at karaoke just for the service variety of food! I loved the sides! We got the steak bibimbap and that was enough for two people with all of the sides.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service and food.
A must visit for Korean food lovers. Please check out wherever there is a BCD in your area.
Be the first to ReplyWhen I'm in NYC I have to get this tofu soup.
The unique thing about BCD is that they also sell their kits through grocery stores but honestly, it just doesn't taste the same. My favorite is doing a lunch combo with their stone bowl bibimbap which is plenty of food and can feed 2 people or be taken away as a dinner for the same day. They also do great offerings for meat and soup, it's honestly the best deal! Lunch special is about $2 cheaper than dinner prices.

Wish there weekend menu and food options were just as good as weekdays. I was there and was was going to order the combo and realized it was only served on weekdays during lunchtime.

Classic and go to spot for Korean food in the heart of ktown. Came here on a Sunday night and it was packed. Even though there was a line outside, the wait time only took about 15 minutes. This place is humongous in the inside with 2 floors. I got the assorted tofu stew which comes with rice and lots of banchan! Everything was really good and waiters were friendly and even refilled our banchan without asking.

Nice atmosphere, very busy and popular place during dinner time, good thing there wasn't a wait time and got seated immediately. The food was more then expected which is always a plus. Very tasty and highly recommended to try.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of my favorite spot for warm spicy tofu soup.
Their LA kalbi and spicy squid with udon is one of my favorites! Seafood pancake & japchae is pretty good too! Its first come service. No reservations. Service is good. It's a busy ambiance. I eat in or order out from here all the time.

Went on a Friday night, super busy but the wait was under 15 minutes. The space is way bigger than it looks from the outside. We were seated upstairs which was cozy and quieter than the downstairs. The service was fast and no frills. Not overbearing but also not being ignored. Waters stayed constantly chilled. Unlimited sides with delicious kimchi. Our table had two plates. Two of our party had the soup. One with dumplings, and one with seafood. The soup was delicious and I wish I had gotten it. I had the bibimbap which was very bland. If I could do it over, I would send it back and get the soup instead. The tofu in the soup wasn't overwhelming and the broth was flavorful. I will come back to give it another chance but I will definitely get the soup and avoid the bibimbap as I can make better flavors at home. Really disappointed as it was just underseasoned and a let down. Hence the 3 stars.
