Beefbar New York Reviews from The Last Year
Arguably the best new steakhouse to hit the city this year.
Beautiful dining room and excellent service sets a great tone. Hamachi pastrami, beef bacon and miso spinach salad are great stating point. Waygu bolognese makes for a nice mid course but save room for the 45 days dry aged porterhouse because its flavor is phenomenal.
Beautiful space open in Tribeca, from South of France.
We just come back from there and felt everything was under-seasoned an half of our dishes were over-seasoned, uncanny. Rock Corn - it was fine, saucy, saucy, saucy. Croque Sando - very bland and underwhelming Hamachi Pastrami - enjoyed a lot, unique flavor and texture, we think they cured it? Much try if you like raw fish. Smoked Beef Amatriciana - love it! Very good pasta, with slight smoky flavor not overpowering, it's much better than many Italian places! Cocktails were pretty good I recall.
I have been to Beefbar St.
Barths many times. Always consistent quality dishes + cocktails + service. The lobby martini & hamachi pastrami was divine. I skipped the meat but my friend enjoyed it all. Such a great time. Thrilled to have Beefbar in Tribeca!

I really wanted to like this place and was super excited to try it out but was pretty unimpressed overall :( food: 3/5 overall we ordered the croque sando, quesadillas, miso spinach salad, wagyu bolognese, filet - frites and beef bar sauce and a side of truffle mashed potatoes overall, the food was fine - definitely all very salty though which is somewhat expected from a steakhouse our favorites were the quesadillas, miso spinach salad - highly recommend AVOID the wagyu bolognese - the pasta was extremely overcooked and mushy, this was super disappointing especially given the hefty price tag Service and ambience were great! The restaurant was stunning, just wish the food was better as I'm not sure I would recommend :(
Excellent ambiance, food and service.
Beefbar exudes style and character. Most dishes are very well prepared. The sando was flavorful. The Caesar was amazing. And the steak.. we splurged on the American wagyu. It was well worth it, I don't think I've ever had a steak that tastes quite the same. I'm usually hesitant to order something medium rare - but this is the steak to do it with. Check out the bar scene before and/or after dinner as well, it's real nice, with live music or a DJ.
3/5 for Beefbar - for the price point, I definitely
3/5 for Beefbar - for the price point, I definitely expected more portion wise. I also felt that the servers rushed to pick up our plates even though we still had some food left. Ambiance and bathroom are absolutely beautiful, ans everything is Instagram worthy. The food here is a 3.5/5, but disappointingly small in portion - especially the steak frites. Super small steak with quite literally - a measuring cup of broken fries - maybe a few of them were full sized.... The croque sando as well as rock corn were delicious and perfectly executed along with the pasta being cooked el dente. But before I could enjoy the sauce and some of the actual meat - the servers whipped away the plate... The umami Caesar salad was decent - although the lettuce served was not very fresh with some of the edges being dried out and wilted... wish I could have gotten a better piece of fresh produce. Was really disappointed that they didn't have the famous chocolate bar that was all over social media. Since it wasn't available this week, we opted for the other desserts - the carrot cake and the chocolate soufflé. Honestly was extremely disappointed in those desserts. Not sure if the carrot cake is made in house, but the carrot cake was too dense, too sickeningly sweet (felt like store bought frosting level of artificial sweetness), and the chocolate soufflé was just average. I've had better soufflé at Cafe Chelsea and Madre. It was really a hard waste of $50 for these desserts that I didn't want to finish and just couldn't force myself to.... After spending easily almost $300, I expected to thoroughly enjoy all my food - both before servers took away the plates too fast of the little portions that were served - and of the below average desserts that could use a serious improvement in recipe... Not sure I recommend or return. NYC has many, many, many restaurants that offer fierce competition for the same price point or even a lower price point. Ultimately, the money isn't the issue, I've had $350 meals where I thoroughly enjoy everything - I am a big proponent of getting what you pay for - and I feel strongly that I didn't get we paid for...

Run, don't walk to Beefbar! Reserve a table early and often! I brought two of my clients turned friends here, and we had the time of our lives. I have to say I hesitated for a hot minute, because steakhouses usually go heavy on the grease and fat, and I like clean eating. But boy, I'm seriously thankful I took the plunge! Here's the blow-by-blow! The place is a little hidden from the street, perhaps on purpose, so it has that "hidden gem" feel. Inside, it was beautiful. First--David was an absolute master of his hospitality/serving craft -- and he treated us like 24K gold. The support staff and management were extremely friendly and accommodating as well. We felt very welcome and comfortable. And the food -- ohhh the food! It was incredible and unique and everything you want in a fancy steakhouse. And, I'm not a steak-eater, so the fact I love this place says a WHOLE LOT. First of all -- even the free dish of Bangladeshi style crackers -- I think called Nimki -- were fabulous. It was such a great way to kick off the night. And the mocktails -- we all had a mocktail and we couldn't decide who had the best one. I think I did... the Can't Hurt with Cantalope juice in it. Next time, I'll likely go for a cocktail, but it was a healthier week and I thought I'd take advantage of the option. As far as food, we had the quesadilla with Braised Wagyu beef and truffle -- and HELLO!! ... YUM! The Rock Corn was totally addictive. I think I ate half of it and I'm a tiny little thing. And I had the miso spinach salad as a meal, and I ate every morsel of it. Which is not usually something I do. But damnnnn was that tasty. My guests also loved their dishes -- the Passion Fruit Tiradito -- and the Korean BBQ. She shared some of that and OMG, tas-teeee! Almost forgot -- the "Blistered Shishito Peppers" were a must-have... I couldn't stop popping these babies! Addictive and healthy at the same time. Compliments that they weren't too greasy. We tried the special branded -- and gorgeous-looking candy bar. I was reluctant to eat it because it was such a work of art. But they presented and cut it beautifully to invite the feasting! It was a little sweet (as you'd predict) but it was deluxe all around. All in all, my guests and I were absolutely floored by the wonderful food, ambience, service, and overall experience! It was a smash hit!! :) 10+ stars out of 5. Definitely coming back with friends, family, clients, and whoever else wants to dine like royalty!
I don't normally write bad reviews but my god.
... this bulbous cockroach of a man Schaned (Shooed) me an hour before closing and immediately proceeded to close and lock the door in my face. Disgusting OAF!
I wish the food was better.
Nice space, good service, decent wine list, very convenient to where we live. The food was "meh." We had gyoza that was lacking seasoning, the rice cakes were pretty flavorless, and the corn tempura was drenched in sauce. Both of our steaks (filet and NY strip) were cooked to the correct temperature, looked great, but were dry and lacking flavor. The best part was the sauce. In a city (and a neighborhood) with other great steak options, we will not be back.
The space is beautiful and the service is good, but the
The space is beautiful and the service is good, but the food did not deliver. We ordered an assortment of dishes, including a steak, the signature croque and the souffle. Some of the food we couldn't finish (the croque), others were fine (the steak) but nothing you couldn't get better elsewhere especially at this price point. Would note that the signature steak sauce is inedible.
