We were in a very large group, but this was no problem
We were in a very large group, but this was no problem service was brilliant, they easily split us into different paying groups with no problem and looked after us all brilliantly they even help out with a half portion form our young child. Would highly recommend to anyone as the food was delicious.

Wow!!!!! Tasty, fresh, friendly, authentic, great service, huge portions, best Pathia curries EVER tasted (with small green chillies!!) Delicious tandoori king prawns, wonderful fish recipes if you are eating in, not available for the takeaway range, but prices reduced for takeaway. (Collection only , no delivery, but so worth the journey!!)) Give it a try!!! Worth the detour!!! (busy at times)

As other reviewers point out, service here is extremely efficient, with your drinks order being taken basically as soon as you sit down and food orders also being taken and processed quickly. I didn't feel rushed though, and bf loved the immediate arrival of beer to his hand. Food wise, I was tempted by a few things on this interesting Bangladeshi menu and got some helpful and decisive advice from the waiter. In the end I want for the chicken thawa which wasn't particularly unusual in flavour (I chickened out of the satkora fruit option which I will get next time) but very well done and a very generous portion. I thought the aloo gobi was the best I've had in ages. We also tried onion bhajis and I would say Blue Nile is slightly beaten out by Stockport rival Last Monsoon in terms of flavour and crispiness. Bf had lamb handi which he really enjoyed - the meat was tender and not at all stringy or dry. Definitely recommend if you like lamb. As above service is very good and it's a nice restaurant with some cool tropical fish tanks in the walls. Kind of reminds me of the Purple Pakora in Poynton. Overall this is yet another good restaurant in the independent Hazel Grove scene (we commented on Friday that the chains have not moved in here, which is maybe why there is such diversity and quality) and I will be sure to come back.

Possibly the best I've ever had. Been there probably 50 times or more and not had a bad meal. Staff are really polite. Only problem is on a busy night you are sat very close to other tables.
Be the first to ReplyI can't say enough good things about 'Blue Nile'.
We had three kids with us but were seated very quickly and served just as rapidly. I can't remember exactly what we ate as I didn't write it down but it was delicious and thoroughly deserves five stars. The staff were very attentive and polite and even wear disposable gloves for hygiene when serving the food. I can't remember a better Indian / Bangladeshi meal out so well done Blue Nile. Clean and well presented, comfy chairs and a reasonably priced menu, what more can you ask from a chance stop to avoid a long wait in heavy traffic with hungry children.

It is been a while since I last went to the Blue Nile, but that said its been a while since I last had a curry. before Christmas at least. Even though it's a bit of a trek from home, both me and Mrs.D think that it's worth the trip. It's something of a guilty treat for a mid week takeaway, and worth the extra mileage. I can't exactly say what I think it is that makes this our preferred provider of tasty curry, but I can put my finger on a couple of possibilities . First of all, and probably most obviously, the food is great. I've had a good range of the dishes over the years, and they all have a depth of flavour that you don't find in many other places - they all just taste great. The other thing is the meat. Quite often, the meat in curries, especially Lamb (my favourite) is a bit tough. Not so here - it is, as I'm sure they say in the industry, 'Juicy & Tender'. The Lamb Tikka they use is just perfect. Now, just to peg this as a take-away would be a great disservice. It's also a really great restaurant. They we had a bit of a facelift. It was never tatty, or out of date, but they've modernised even more. The staff are great too, really friendly, really happy to help and make some brilliant suggestions although, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing, they will always manage to convince you to get more food than you need. The sides that they serve up are also great, with some wonderful naans, purees and bhajis;l found this out the hard way, with much straining of the belt... Sadly, there's not much more that I can say - you 're simply going to have to go and try it yourself. So, if you 're in the Stockport / Hazel Grove area, in need of some good food, and pining for a quality curry, whether in nice surroundings or at home on your sofa, get along to the Nile. I, doubt you"II regret it.

This is a Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant, and the Indian food is absolutely the best I've found in my various restaurant travels. The prices are fairly standard but the food itself is served with very generous quantities and excellent tastes. If going on a Friday or Saturday, book in advance and arrive early- the place packs up very fast and can get too busy, with eaters packed too close together, at the busiest times. Sometimes the waiters here 'hover' a bit too much, which is a little intimidating, but apart from that minor gripe it really is excellent.
