Visited with groupon on weekday afternoon.
Very casual, trendy place. It's definitly good for a group. Beers and some cocktails are very good. They have some unique vietnamese beers. I liked the interior. Very "bushwick" style restaurant. Relaxed and chill. Enjoyed my dinning! We ordered spring roll, claypot with seafood, king oyster mushroom, pho with short ribs.Spring roll- tasty. Very traditional. Inculdes shrimp, pork, vermicelli, mint. I thought this was pretty mediocre. King oyster mushroom - very unique. Well seasoned. It's first time i tried grilled king oyster mushroom. Very chewy. I liked the sauce it came with. Very unique. Recommended.Claypot- well seasoned, very hot. It's very similar to hong kong style claypot. Very very rich in flavor. If you dont like strong flavor, i wouldnt recommend it.Pho with short rib- loved the soup! Very deep, rich flavor. It's not one of those powdered pho. Very flavorful. Recommend it!!

I've only been here once and haven't visited Vietnam yet, but the food was delicious (spring rolls are amazing) and the vibe and decor were awesome and chill. Tucked away, a little tough to find the first time, but worth it. The only complaint is the shrimp have the full shell and I'm not into eating the shell (personal preference) so I had to pick off every single one and was very messy, but delicious!

Like expensive but a nice treat. I just ordered for dinner and the spring rolls tasted like burnt bbq and the chicken coconut curry had no flavor, it was very watered down. Not worth the money

Spring rolls - great, smoked meat or sausageChinese broccoli - good flavor, but mostly stemPasture raised Chicken coconut curry - bland, chicken rubberyLemongrass pork chop - interesting grill/smokiness. Thick cut chop was an odd move. Based on older yelp pics it looks like they used to do thin cut chops like most Vietnamese restaurants. In general, seems like the kind of place that used to be really good but is just coasting on past glory at this point. In fairness, this was a delivery order. Perhaps items like the pork chop are better in the restaurant but that curry...

I came here for a friends birthday and Bunker did an amazing dinner! There was a private room on the side that had a great kitschy tiki feel. I had a Limeade Lemon drink that was so light and refreshing; the basil seeds really made this drink stand out. The banh mi was delicious and I ate every single bite. Service was outstanding and the proprietors are very welcoming and gracious. I loved everything about this place and plan on coming back.

Cool atmosphere, edgy location, fun decor, and good food; Bunker was a nice treat! I do have to say it is a bit on the pricey side and their PHO is sweeter than I prefer, a lot of cinnamon notes, it does not have that stewed-for-hours feel, but it was good, I did eat it all. Def worth a try!

Place was a bit of disappointment, partly because it was so hyped up and partly because the vegetarian Pho was one of blandest I've had, and they also brought it out to me lukewarm!
Be the first to ReplyId give it a 4.
5 but Yelp doesn't allow that. Still a solid place a year later. I'm happy they held up through the pandemic. This time I made reservations for a group of 4 of my girlfriends. We got here around 7:15p and were seated relatively quickly. The staff here is really nice. Our waiter, Alex, was very accommodating with my drink requests (I was very particular haha). The only con was that service was a bit slow. Aside from that food tasted fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Super chill vibe.

Saw this resturant on one of the cooking shows, they said it was Authentic Vietnamese food. They where so right. My daughter and myself spent several weeks in Vietnam, enjoying the food and culture. We felt like we where in Vietnam. This resturant has a great vide.I drove from Long Island to this resturant and I will do it again. It's off the beaten path, so it's not crowed. We tried a few of the dishes and one was better than the other. This place is a MUST!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe surf and turf remains awesome.
My opinion of that does not change. However, having eaten the pho for the first time... this has got to be the absolutely WORST pho I've ever had. Having eaten many pho's in NY, Vietnam and around the globe - Bunker's version has got to be the worst. The flavor is off, it tastes weird and for $22, you got to be kidding me. Luckily, everything else is decent. I also don't understand $14 summer rolls. Wtf. The banh mi is okay. I tried the crispy fish and it wasn't bad. The roll was soft yet crispy. Unfortunately everything else fell short of spectacular. If you're there, just get the surf and turf. It's what they do best.
