C London Restaurant Reviews from The Last Year
THIS RESTAURANT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Just to start, the
THIS RESTAURANT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Just to start, the tile and travertine floors were filthy the moment you walked in. All of the decor looked like someone from a 1960's boat puked all over the walls, and the restaurant didn't even open until six. Not to mention that every employee was wearing oversized white tuxedos like they were acting for a little kids birthday party. However most importantly the food and drinks were absolutely DISGUSTING. The rigatoni I had ordered was vastly undercooked and had a gut wrenching brown color like it was sitting in the sun for a few days. The lamb chops were just as gross, with 0 flavor and tasted it like it was cooked in an easy bake oven. The vodka and peach cocktail had zero originality to it and was just juice from a can of peaches and a couple shots of sky vodka from the liquor store down the street. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they didn't even have a PROPER WINE GLASS. This is a famous well known chain of restaurant, but this one shouldn't even be considered as one of them. My group and I literally went home and ordered McDonald's because the food was so bad. And guess what? McDonalds did it BETTER! Do yourself a favor and never even look at this Cipriani in London. It should be wiped from the face of the earth and a convenience store should take its place.
nice food, low service
I came to eat a few days ago, average food but was ok. That wasn’t ok was our waiter Alfredo that he honestly ruin our dinner, not professional at all and rude way to speak with costumer. Staff should be trained.
Not the same
What a sad decline to a restaurant I used to enjoy so much. No ambience, low quality food and 5 different waiters asking you the same questions over and over. C London has been frozen in time and not in a good, nostalgic way. I wish I read the reviews. But never going back.
Should have read the reviews
Having visited other Cipriani restaurants around the world I thought this would be a no brainer for dinner with friends. This restaurant is not to the standard I would expect having visited others. The food is ok, it’s not bad but in no way remarkable. It is however vastly overpriced for the product. The dining room ambience is bright, someone needs to look at the lighting and decor. The staff were ok, pleasant enough but rather amateurish & scruffy. There didn’t seem to be a sommelier, if there was it was his night off and all available staff seemed clueless about the wines on offer. In short really expensive, offers no value and I wouldn’t go back.
The Worst Experience Ever - A Restaurant that you should Avoid
I have been dining at C London/Cipriani restaurant ever since it opened, which must be nearly 20 years ago.
I had booked a table for my wife's birthday with our 2 children, aged 13 and 15 and they refused us entry because my 13 year old was wearing shorts. These were smart, tailored shorts and it was one of the hottest days of the year - over 30 degrees outside.
You can imagine the extreme disappointment of my wife on her birthday when her chosen restaurant refused her family entry.
We could have chosen to eat anywhere in London, spending our hard earned money at any one of thousands of restaurants, yet we had chosen you.
Not only did you let us down, you have lost a customer for life. As a well-connected, high-net-worth individual, I will make sure that I make every effort to convey my experience to others and to ensure you lose future lifetime revenue and customers.
We were lucky enough to have been staying in a £7000 a night suite in the The Dorchester Hotel and a quick phone call to the hotel Concierge sourced an alternative restaurant who could not have welcomed us more openly. The service was superb and we ended up with a bill of nearly £2000. I gave the staff a substantial cash tip, on top of the standard service charge that had been added to the bill.
It is incredible to hear that C London, which now appears to be back using the Cipriani name, is doing so well financially, despite other hospitality venues suffering, that they can turn down business from longstanding customers or indeed anyone who wishes to spend money with them.
Once seated, no one can see whether a child is wearing shorts and so your policy is ridiculous. We witnessed other diners dressed inappropriately, wearing revealing outfits and covered in tattoos, yet you chose to take offence with my 13 year old child's smart shorts. This restaurant bizarrely allows dogs into their venue but not children in smart shorts.
I would warn other potential diners to read the other reviews of this restaurant and to think very carefully about whether you wish to associate yourself with a restaurant that operates like this.
There are thousands of restaurants in London, so choose very carefully.
Mr Cipriani pay attention your Staff
I'm really disappointed I have been in Cipriani to gave a chance to my daughter to try your amazing and specials desserts. Which I tasted few years ago in your location on Harry Cipriani 5 avenue NY I went to your location in London around 3pm and I gently ask to the door man if I can join in for desserts and the answer was No because you not allowed to consume dessert ratherly he was push me to have a dinner or lunch reservation, because he say we no serve only dessert?! Again I do belive as master Italian hospitality brand you should be pay attention to the people working in your organization for such of Name as Cipriani reputaed as Master in Hospitality. I have been several times in Venice and NY BTW 5 av and Downtown and honestly you spoil my good time with my daughter which I come to visit in London
A sad decline
What a disappointing evening at Cipriani on Saturday. What was once THE glam place in town now appears to be the go to for Middle Eastern tourists, many (most) of whom were over casually dressed (think track pants and T shirts) and most were staring at their phones. The once fabulous service has deteriorated and the restaurant didn’t feel remotely Italian. It’s an expensive restaurant but felt more like a canteen and although the meringue cake is still a delight, I think in future, we’d order it as a takeout and eat away from the noise and the trainers and baseball caps.
