Café Sabarsky New York Reviews from The Last Year
Ridiculously expensive for a mediocre dessert
What a disappointment the sachertorte was. With tax and tip we paid about $20.00 for one slice of sachertorte and it was mediocre. Moist but very little chocolate flavor or apricot. So much hype for a very forgettable pastry.
Great experience
I wanted to enter on Sunday and it was impossible. There was a huge line. I returned on Tuesday and entered immediately. Frankly I loved it. Very good pastries and coffee. Although there is also food. But I only came for coffee and dessert. You can not lose this
Very quiet place and delicious breakfast
A somewhat confidential address, a haven of peace a stone's throw from the MET and the Guggenheim. Excellent breakfast (the one for 34 dollars): brioche, bread, jam, marble, two fried eggs with bacon and hot drink + orange juice. Nice setting, good service and you can visit the Klimt farm in the same building. However, the exhibition is prohibited for children under 11 years old. I highly recommend
Wonderful breakfast in an intimate atmosphere where all are warmly welcomed.
I had a delicious breakfast served by very friendly and accommodating team members in late March 2024. I arrived just after opening and was directed by Hector and Malone through the security check with the MOST wonderful welcome. I was in clean, walking attire and was unsure if I met the dress code. They said I was always welcome and genuinely meant it. I was directed to the cafe by another friendly gentleman and then the host confirmed that I could use contactless payment before being seated. You can pay contactlessly at the barista's station. I was seated near the window as it was approximately 10 minutes after opening and had a wonderful conversation with a regular patron whose requests the staff accommodated with a smile. My breakfast was the perfect portion size and my Viennese Hot Chocolate with a shot of espresso was delicious. I look forward to returning for lunch or an afternoon snack.
Helpful and prompt service
After seeing the Woman in Gold, we made a late lunch stop since we needed some here! My kraut and brats were spicy and delicious.Although my wife's salad was excellent, we didn't mind the expensive costs because we had friendly, timely service.
Lovely evening in the restaurant and the museum. On cabaret night
The food was quite good and well managed at a dinner show for about 50 people. The staff was well poised and trained to make the changing of courses rather seamless and to handle the extras of drinks and coffees that were added. all this was finely tuned for the 1 1/2 hour performance. . they were professional snd well organized from start yo the end.
An excellent trouvaille.
My main motivation for coming here was Ronald S. Lauder, Neue Galerie. However, the Museum only opens at 11:00 a.m. I then proceeded to the coffee shop. To my astonishment, I was able to locate a genuine "Wiener Kaffee" in the center of New York. accompanied with Wiener Sachertorte and Apfelstrudel! Thus, you may now enjoy this genuine style without having to travel to Vienna.
Viennese experience- delicious and heavy
A real Viennese experience. Played that fit the freezing cold weather. Goulash with shpezels- heavy and tasty, sausage with mustard, and schnitzel- all good and all heavy The deserts - linzer torte and apple strudel with whipped cream closed a good meal
Amazing Viennese hot chocolate
Stopped by this gem for the first time after visiting the Met. We probably waited about 20-30 minutes in total, but the wait was worth it. The interior transports you to a charming old European café. The Viennese hot chocolate was to die for.
A great place to get the best Wiener Schnitzel in America
Wonderful Restaurant, it took me back to Germany, the Wiener Schnitzel was out of this world, I loved the coffee and the pastries, besides the place look like a Palace great to come for Brunch or dinner with your friends. Highly recommended.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
