Campimar Lagos Reviews from The Last Year

Cool nice lil'restaurant basically on the beach next to a walking trail! For me, this place was all about the fun friendly service. Note: I ordered the sea bass with veggies and...it was delicious. My wife had the burger and fries. If you like expresso martinis--the ones here are off the charts!
Great atmosphere but don’t order mixed drinks here
This restaurant is located on the beach with great views. Service and beer were good but the margaritas were tasteless.
Beautiful chilled beach restaurant
This is a little piece of heaven on the Porto do Mos beach which is not to be missed. The staff are so friendly and happy you don’t want to leave. The food is equally delicious and value for money. It’s certainly worth the visit.
Uniqueness is lost
We were looking forward to Campimar on the day we arrived - unfortunately it was full. It is still very popular, all day long until the evening for sundowners. We went there twice more and were not as impressed as the previous year. The menu is now geared more towards tourist tastes than towards local cuisine. We had an arroz, the ingredients of which were fresh enough to be obtained from Germany. That was a little disappointing.
Not the best
I think it’s not the best choice for families because you can get cramped in the doorway. If you like shrimp without the veins, it’s not for you - there’s veins in the shrimp. The service was not the best , and one of the waiters touched a kid on the neck, perhaps with good intentions, however still very inappropriate and without a reason. ( don’t touch other people kids period ) The medium stake was under cooked ( rare ) - had to go back to get corrected. They don’t let you change your seats when no one is sitting next to you.
Good food, good service, great view!!
I was staying in Lagos with my sister and brother-in-law and was looking for a special place to take them for a "thank you" dinner. The Campimar Beach Restaurant was a great choice. Two of us had the monkfish, served in different ways and one the sea bream. We all enjoyed the meal, the service was friendly, helpful and efficient and the the view over the beach stunning. I have just checked my credit card bill and was surprised at how reasonable the cost of the meal was. To paraphrase some actor "I will return".
Delicious dinner with a beautiful sunset
Sat outside and watched the sunset. Service was good and informative- we were looking at the pizza and were told that they did not make it in-house (frozen). Instead had the chicken stew, which was delicious- had a half a chicken (could serve 2). It came with a large side of fries. I had the grilled sea bass and it was excellent! The potatoes were good, but I didn’t like the carrots on the side (previously frozen).
Sun spot with views
This restaurant is a great for snacks oWath the sun going down. Also lovely restaurant served by caring staff who work extremely hard.
Not like before
Unfortunately, the Campimar has deteriorated considerably in terms of service, selection and prices. Some of the staff are extremely grumpy. I was a regular but don't go there often anymore. They've become a bit arrogant. A shame considering the location.
Best restaurant in Algrave
2 weeks in the Agrave, quite simply the best restaurant we have been to (allowing 28 restaurants) Food quality and incredible hospitality Thank you 🙏

Food: Came here to get some drinks and a little nibble so can't say much for the whole menu but I did get their gin and tonic along with tarte banoffee. Hands down a great gin and tonic! Been spoiling myself with a lot of wine but going back to one of my favorites here was quite a surprise! Also the tarte banoffee was excellent! It caught my eye as I was coming back from the bathroom and just had to get it kind of dessert- was not dissapointed. Cost: The gin and tonic was well priced but I did find the dessert a little slightly overpriced based on what I've been normally paying for around the area but it was okay! Environment: This place was very large! Tons of seating and I want to say my favorite part was enjoying my gin and tonic as I was looking at the ocean from their outdoor seating area! Service: Good service- lots of people working and so you're able to flag anyone down. Uniqueness: Beachfront views with drinks, food and dessert!
Excellent group lunch with beautiful sea views!!!
Excellent space for groups, spacious, bright, sea view. Wide variety of dishes, excellent preparation, efficient and very friendly service (Marisa, Miguel, Tiago, Acácio). Good quality/price ratio.
It's a great place to go if you want to be treated like you
It's a great place to go if you want to be treated like you are inferior or an imposition to the staff. First off they tell you a reservation is absolutely necessary but at 6:00 the place was like a ghost town. Most of the staff were eating in the corner. We made a reservation for the next evening at 6. We were told we must eat inside as the patio is totally booked. Again the staff were dining in the corner. We were the only ones inside besides them. At 7:15 when we left there were only two other parties inside. If I were you I would avoid this place at all costs! The staff are all very rude and the food is mediocre. Find a different place to eat if you want a view and to be treated like a human being. Where is the management? You could be making a ton of money . Sad!
