Great food! Top notch taste and flavor.
Service was great, staff were very friendly. Located inside the Virgin Casino but easy to find!
Be the first to ReplyThe happy hour is phenomenal at Casa Calavera.
The restaurant is in the Virgin Hotel complex. Happy hour runs from 3:00-5:00 pm and you must sit at the bar. Select appetizers and beverages are priced around $7. I ordered a cranberry and vodka and my husband had a Tecate beer. The bar and restaurant are upscale and comfortable. The dining room is large and there are additional tables on an outdoor patio. Anthony, our server was great, attentive and made a recommendation for the Pomegranate-Jicama Guacamole, which was unique, refreshing, beautiful and delicious. I loved it We ordered the La Quesadilla, which was ample and delicious. We also shared Avacado and Roasted Corn Toquitos which was artfully plated. The food was great and made a perfect light meal.

I gave it three stars because I wasn't impressed with their food. I am always looking for authentic flavors and to me it was your average Mexican place/. Bland, no authenticity. The drinks were average as well. The salsa more the chips needs more picante:. I'm Willing to give it another try. So far LA POPULAR restaurant inside the Palms is my go to place for amazing Mexican food. I did like the decor. It was very Mexican..

Casa Calavera is a good overall Mexican restaurant that is located inside the Virgin Hotel. They have some good deals going on for Taco Tuesday. The staff is friendly and professional and Casa Calavera has a cool.overall ambiance with murals painted on the wall. Overall, this was a good choice for a meal.

This palce has good food can't lie , but very bad customer service coming from the manager Jolie today 4-6-24 my family party of 6 yet idk where she got that we were a partie of 8, I had a bad experience here we requested not to be seated in the barstool due to a resent surgury they refused! then after so many times we insisted finally we got moved to a booth that was to crowed when there were so many empty tables our reservation was at 10:15 pm, at 11:14 0ur food came out so practically our food order was taken when it was the last call! and at 11:45, the bus boys took food off the table even when we were not yet finished .. mind you, we came to celebrate a b-day. The parties who came after us 3 parties with no reservations were served before us. This was upseting yet not as upsetting as not being able to accommodate as handicapped person. Seating was an issue .. this is a bad experience .. so upsetting coming from LA to LV hippied to have a good time, and this happens it's so overwhelming and shameful.. over all bad bad experience...

Arrived at 10 pm Saturday night to have dinner hostess refused to seat us and there were tons of empty tables and I asked why your hours were until 11 pm and she admitted kitchen was "extremely backed up" clearly they had inadequate staffing and poor management!

I came here to say that not only was the food great but the chef was amazing and went above and beyond for my son. We were in Vegas with my husband on a business trip. My kids and I decided to have dinner at casa calavera as we were staying at the virgin hotel and was convenient. The menu is not too kid friendly as the only thing on the menu my son gravitated towards were appetizers, non the less he decided to order a rib eye steak... I know, well it just so happened that they were out of meat. The chef came out to speak to us and apologized. He also offered my son an off the menu item which was a burger and how could my son resist ! Non the less he went above and beyond for my son and comped his burger. I know my son will forever remember this moment as it made him feel special. Thank you to the chef and casa calavera for making my son's day. I will forever go back and recommend casa calavera to everyone.
Be the first to ReplyCasa occupies the same space previously occupied by Pink
Casa occupies the same space previously occupied by Pink Taco when the Virgin was the Hard Rock. Casa is hands down better than Pink Taco ever was. It's a stylish, upscale place, as one would expect at the Virgin. The food is terrific: - I always get the three taco plate accompanied by rice and refried beans. You get your choice of what are essentially gourmet tacos, and you can mix and match them. I always choose Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and Shrimp. It's a really good plate as it should be for $26.00. She got three shrimp tacos without the rice and beans for $20.00. - The chips and salsa are good and a relative bargain at $3.00. It's full bar, so all of your booze groups are covered. I always get the Calavera Margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim at $17.00. It's made with el Jimador Blanco, lime, and agave. It's definitely a step up from the typical house marg. The service is great every time - friendly and on the ball is the best way to describe it. As you might already have gathered, it's not cheap, but I think it's worth the money. Cheers.

You think taco Tuesday with me and Value it's just an expensive place to charge money for services rendered I understand, but this is about me looking for services about me looking for food and not that I am obsessed with food. I just crave value and thought to the taco Tuesday special at a Mexican restaurant with actually care? Oh extremely disappointing you know I don't usually go out. Nothing in Vegas I've been in Vegas for very long time and a friend of mine, recommended this restaurant. He recommended this strongly about three years ago. Did your portion size change. Your portion sizes are way too small for me and I feel like I've been taking advantage of. I haven't gotten to that point but I am I was under the impression they would have a good value. I mean I'm looking around and seeing other tacos that we're full size. I'm like excited at the place up there street you know the tacos and beer place 3 to 6 also but they do that every day yeah and they actually bring out the full size portion. They also have a special menu between the hours of three and seven and the item that I ordered is exempt on Tuesday every other day except Tuesday at seven dollars on Tuesday it's 19 so don't make that mistake just like I did.
Be the first to ReplyReally disappointed that the mariachis were a no-show.
I planned, invited friends, and was let down.

Food was ok, we had the agua chiles they were pretty good, however they serve it with only one chip. Had sopes as well that had no flavor. Customer service ok they just to long to bring out the food. Prices where ok, however food was not authentic for the price
Be the first to ReplyWouldn't come here again, service was okay.
Food took long time to come out, server though we were waiting on the check and started clearing the table however we still hadn't gotten our food.
Be the first to ReplyI came here on a Monday and it was very nice.
We didn't have reservations and they could accommodate us within minutes. The music was a mix of some Mexican tunes but nice to the ear. The food was good but the desserts was lovely.

We came here around 11AM wanting to eat breakfast with a group of 4. We sat down and got service right away. Ordered coffee- they were out of half and half. Hmm... interesting they don't have that ingredient. We received chips and salsa and the salsa was good. We then ordered pancakes and since I like to eat my pancakes with whip cream vs. syrup, I ordered whip cream. -They were out of that, too... Mind you, this place had barely anybody dining. There were 2 other groups of people at their tables. We waited for an HOUR and no updates and no food. You can't do that when people are vacationing. Time is precious and we had to leave since we were running late waiting for over an hour. We left money on the table for our coffee and left. We will not be coming here again.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good but the owners of this restaurant charge
The food was good but the owners of this restaurant charge extra for everything! We wanted more chips and there was an extra charge. We brought in our own birthday cake and there was a $3 fee to slice our own cake! $3 PER slice!! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever encountered! Will never go back!!!!
Be the first to ReplyThis place had some pretty promising reviews so I decided
This place had some pretty promising reviews so I decided to make a reservation on OpenTable for a party of four to celebrate a birthday. The ambience was spectacular, and the decorations were very fitting. The layout of the restaurant was also really nice and it was really nice to see a bar set in the middle of the restaurant. We were greeted out at the front by the hostess, and since I had a reservation for 7:30 we were sat immediately. I had mentioned if they received my note that I had left from the OpenTable reservation and they said no so that might be good to note if you do make a reservation through that app And leave a note. We sat at a table top and had our waitress approach us within 3 to 4 minutes of us sitting down. After careful deliver ration of the simple menu, we decided to put in our drink orders and an appetizer to share. The drinks were OK, nothing special. The chicken, taquito appetizer was phenomenal, it was crispy on the outside and well seasoned chicken on the inside with a side of sour cream and a green sauce. Shortly after we had ordered our food, and that came out at a reasonable time. Everybody was satisfied with their dishes. Now, why is it a three star rating? I did expect more of a variety on the menu, and the ability to order some thing that you would find at any Mexican restaurant that wasn't on the menu, but didn't. Now, since we were there celebrating a birthday, our waitress was kind enough to bring over what seemed as their churro dessert plate with a little signage that said happy birthday. I was really looking forward to trying their Tres leches cake. However, our waitress did not ask if we were interested in dessert. We were never offered dessert nor the dessert menu, which was a little upsetting, fortunately, there was an Afters ice cream right across the restaurant, so that's what I had for dessert instead.
Be the first to ReplySat at the bar for Happy Hour appetizers and drinks.
Mikayla the bartender was very helpful and attentive also a super sweet person! The ambiance is so cool in there and the food is outstanding!

So let me start off by saying the food is good and we have frequently visited since we are locals. We had our National meetings here last week and spent $$$$ with our teams. We had a reservation this weekend and received a call from the restaurant 2 hours before our arrival and said we had per person minimum because it's Final Four weekend. So remind you this is 2 hours before our arrival with my party and would have ok if communicated when we booked the reservation. This was a ridiculous request as each person would not meet the minimum $ amount and they were going to charge the difference or we needed to cancel, AS WE CANCELED AND WILL NEVER GIVE THEM OUR BUSINESS EVER AGAIN! This is BAD BUSINESS and I would take your business to many other great local Mexican restaurants ( Eldorado Cantina)! See ya

I ordered tacos and they completely messed my order up and the bartender acts like he didn't understand what I didn't want on my taco I will never come back here again
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first visit back to this property since Virgin
This was my first visit back to this property since Virgin Hotels took over. This restaurant used to be known as The Pink Taco and is now known by its new name.We made a reservation for 6:30pm pre-concert and we're seated quickly. Bar was crowded but the rest of the restaurant not that busy. Decor is Mexican and colorful which I always love. Our server seemed a little unsure of himself initially and wasn't all that attentive, but he did take care of what was important and that was getting our food to us timely.I ordered a watermelon margarita (meh at best - very little alcohol and so mushy). My friend ordered a sangria which she liked. We both ordered the street taco plate which came with a choice of three different tacos, rice and beans. I ordered the fish, shrimp and chicken tacos. Overall the meal was kinda blah. Tacos were somewhat tasteless and I was just disappointed. I don't plan on returning anytime soon. You aren't missing anything here and there are many other better choices for good Mexican food in our city.
Be the first to ReplyThis is such a beautiful restaurant with excellent service.
I walked in on a Monday afternoon and was able to be seated right away. I was given the option of a table or booth and chose to sit in a booth because the pillows looked super comfortable (they were). I started with the Paloma cocktail which was amazing! Perfect mixture! I had elote for an appetizer (bussin!!) and the fish tacos. I ordered the sauces on the side which my waiter happily did. He was extremely attentive, gave great recommendations and was overall had great energy. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because u know I left something in their table and when I called back for it they could t really tell me if/when it was recovered or not or if they turned it in to lost and found. Otherwise, great experience!
Be the first to ReplyNeeded to ask bus boy for server.
Needed to ask server for silverware. Food blah. Service blah. Rather eat Roberto's in the car before the concert. Hostess staff was nice
