Casa de inedible
We have eaten at Casa DโAngelo many times in Fort Lauderdale, at times itโs great, and then other times itโs less than mediocre. Last night was just awful! I started with an appetizer of beef carpaccio, which was very good, followed by sautรฉed shrimp with a combination of potatoes and broccoli, rob as a vegetable. Shrimp or so over cooked and tough that I had to ask for a steak knife to cut a shrimp! I complained to the waiter who took them back and less than five minutes later brought me what I thought were new shrimp also totally over cooked and inedible, one of my dining partners ordered the lamb chops, and they too, were over cooked and incredibly tough. Once again, we complained to the waiter, and he returned shortly with what looked like fresh lamb chops, which were still overcooked and inedible. I donโt think that Iโll be returning to Casa DโAngelo anytime in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyPretentious, Crowded, Noisy but Good Food
The food was good but at times missed the mark. The initial bread, cheese and olives were a nice touch. Want more, that will cost you $10.00. The caesar salad with baby romaine was quite good but need more dressing. The veal Milanese served ala parmigiana was perfect. There were three orders of bucatini cacio & pepe which is served with lobster. Everyone agreed that the pepper was overwhelming and masked the delicate flavor of the lobster. The deserts were creative and tasty. Service was excellent, attentive but not obsessive. My major complaint with the restaurant is that for the prices and the somewhat pretentious atmosphere, they crammed too many tables into the room so that we had to get up to let other people to their tables. The close table spacing also created a very high noise level. A great restaurant considers all aspects of the dining experience including table spacing and noise level. D'Angelo misses the mark in that regard.

About 20 of us for a business dinner in the private room by the wine cellar. Beautiful venue, nice room. Service consistent all night. We had a pre-fixed menu. The bread they brought us to start was wonderful. The Caesar salad was not good (how is Caesar ever not good?). I selected the marinara pasta and it was bland & boring. Several of my peers got the chicken and said it was dry & flavorless. They brought assorted desserts, which were good. The pistachio ice cream wrapped in chocolate was good. I wish I could give the restaurant a better rating, but I wouldnโt return & we were all disappointed with our meal & wouldnโt return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dining and no disappointments!
The original restaurant in Fort Lauderdale is almost flawless, so meeting that expectation is a challenge. We were not disappointed at this location and had a great dining experience. Not overly busy, so attentive, knowledgable service was enjoyed. The waiter did try to recommend the best/pricer wines, but just doing his job conveying the options. The food is excellent! The Venus clams were delicious as was the eggplant parmigiana. Veal Milanese was huge and cooked perfectly. Seafood pasta was delicious, although the pasta could have been more el dente. Gorgeous dining room, so a great dining experience.

Be the first to ReplySolid Italian place.
Good standard Italian cuisine. We were a large group and I had a huge and delicious Osso Buco. Everyone enjoyed their food. Good family atmosphere and for big groups. Friendly and professional service.

We were cheerfully greeted upon arrival and directed to our outside dining table. Unlike some other diners' experiences, we found the service to be attentive and very pleasant. The food was enjoyed by the others, but not so much me. Our friends shared a Caesar salad before the main course. They each ordered the GALLETTO---Roasted Free-range Chicken, Garlic Lemon Sauce ($34). My wife ordered a shrimp dish, and I had the SPAGHETTI FRUTTI DI MARE with 6oz Lobster Tail, Tiger Prawns, Littleneck Clams, Spicy Cherry Tomato Sauce ($52). The waiter gave us the specials and mentioned Cioppino fra Diavlo which I jumped at. However, it was not ciopppino, but the Frutti di Mare mentioned above and not fra diavlo. It also lacked flavor that is usually so prominent in this dish. My wife and I shared the Tartufo--an Italian dessert of gelato that originated in Pizzo, Calabria. The dessert takes the form of a ball that is composed of two or more flavors of gelato, often with melted chocolate inserted into the center. This, too, was disappointing to me since the gelato had no intense flavor, but my wife very much enjoyed it. Overall. for most, it was good choice for the evening.

Delicious dinner, with hand made pasta. Chicken Milesse was excellent. Chopped salad was fresh and wonderful to share, as was desert.
Be the first to ReplyA disappointing experience all aroundโฆ.
Very disappointing dinner last night with the wife.
Our server was much too busy to provide proper service.
My $54.00 veal chop took forever to get to the table, and was very much overcooked when it did finally arrive.
Unfortunately I was much too hungry by that time to send it back.
Maybe that was the plan; make the diner wait so long for their food that they just eat it no matter how poorly prepared it is.
Terrible Service
Last Tuesday evening, I went with my husband to this terrible restaurant. I was at Casa DโAngelo a couple years ago, in Ft. Lauderdale. I thought Bocasโs location will be okay. I was totally wrong.
From the moment we sat down until we left, the service was awful. It was clear the waiter was not in a good day. He was rude. Also spilled some wine on the table and Parmesan cheese impatiently.
Food came hot but shrimps were chopped over pasta. Never saw that! For an expensive menu, we expected better services - US $200,00 for a simple dinner.
We got extremely disappointed, and we don't recommend the restaurant. The only good service provided was the valet.
First visit since start of pandemic
Plenty of outdoor dining and all the staff was masked. The service was as usual, top-notch and very attentive.
The shrimp special was amazing. The Short Rib special did not look special but was tender and very tasty as was the fettuccini alfredo. Glad I went for the short rib special.
The Caesar was nothing special and I doubt I will get it next time. The Mussels FraDiavlo was presented very nice, perfect spice and every shell had a mussel (some places this is not always the case)
The best cacio e peppe
So good ! Anthony was great ! I got cacio E peppe , lobster ๐ฆ fresh and juicy, I had a glass of Cabernet and Burrata special for appetizer, really yummy ๐

We arrived early for dinner. Not busy yet. We didn't need a reservation. My wife ordered the gnocchi, and I ordered the penne vodka. Both were very tasty, we agreed. Good service. We'll be back. We also occasionally frequent their restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, which I also recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!
Tonight just came back after birthday dinner with wife. From beginning to end no criticism. Just fantastic food and service for our first and certainly not last time. We chose salad with white anchovies which was delicious. My wife ordered after having delicious bruschetta, olives, imported parmesan cheese, and what I think was like a white pizza, for us both. half a chicken with potato's, and sauce, and I ordered filet mignon medium, and half an order of short ribs ravioli. Filet was 12 ounces and cooked to perfection black on the outside. Ravioli and chicken wonderful, the ravioli being so delicate. Waiter Carlos was attentive for the most part, and the chef Ricki was complimented by us both! All staff was masked and there was social distancing. Our car was having problems so I asked valet if there was free parking nearby, and to my surprise told us next door.
Maybe when the place is busy, a few have had a problem. I read food not good, waited long time with reservation, etc, very crowded. All I can say is that I know from experience, slowest day for many restaurants and bars, etc, is beginning of the week. We went tonight, Monday, and inside was not crowded, and without reservation were seated immediately. If you don't like waiting, go earlier and call Monday or Tuesday date night or whatever. Sometimes on weekends you can possibly wait with reservation, so don't go at peak times and then you won't complain. Expensive but for us worth it for special occasions. Will definitely be back. Loved it!!!

Covid Christmas Dinner
We had a wonderful experience at Casa DโAngelo. The service was great as was the menu selections and the food. I had a chicken dish and the Duchess had Bronzino( for a change). We had house chopped salad to start and a great tartufo for dessert. Very civilized place.
Fabulous Take Out
Fantastic Take Out during Stay at Home order. Easter menu was just perfect. Weekly menu is even better.

More often than not, mediocre food and always bad service and jerky management. Never follow through on promises and always treated rudely by Paula the self proclaimed Queen and Armando the anointed fool. This place passes off paper thin veal covered in fat, and fascia and presents it as Veal Milanese. The problem with this and many supposedly top restaurants is that they serve up substandard meals and label it gourmet because they think their S__t don't stink. Well the S__t might not stink but the food does. They are really taking advantage of the pandemic to pawn off old forgotten food. The place was once great and is now a shell of it's former self
