Light bite/drinks in NYC, New York
BAR REVIEW ONLY. Came here Sunday afternoon close to their closing time but we were welcomed warmly regardless—decided to grab seats at the bar. The restaurant is nice and fancy looking, loved it! Started off with caviar—SO DELICIOUS!! We tried the Siberian Sturgeon ($75/25gr) and Classic Ostra ($95/25gr)—perfect portion for a light bite with drinks. Cocktails were great as well—highly recommend the “Caviar”tini—vodka martini with pomegranate jelly shaped to mimic caviar in the drink! Overall, service was AMAZING! Our bartender was friendly and attentive and made the best drinks!
Be the first to ReplyNew cavier expert! Very well done.
Everything I expected and more. Service was amazing. The cavier sampler is big enough for 2 people people, Not knowing that, we ordered 2. Excellent tasting experience but felt bad wasting expensive carrier because we couldn't finish it. One would have been fine. Did get to taste all of them, the Beluga wins!

At the risk of sounding redundant/stereotypical, there are not enough good things I could say about this place. We came in for caviar service and champagne and stayed for 4 HOURS...the food, staff's knowledge and attentiveness/ attention to detail, was absolutely top-notch and they were all just wonderful to be around. We will return here every time we come to NYC. ...there is no price tag that you can place on outstanding service - Caviar Russe is a real tribute to that, which means so much when you're in a city that thrives on such high expectations.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing (Not Just Caviar)
I have been coming to Caviar Russe for years. Armando and the team make you feel like family and that you are the only table in the restaurant. Upstairs is an elegant sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of midtown. They offer a full tasting menu outside of caviar. The wine and cocktail list are also top notch. Downstairs has a beautiful lounge vibe. The chilled king crab is to die for. Other things not to miss: crispy rice with tuna, king crab cakes and the smoked salmon. Consistently delicious and one of my favorite spots in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyImpeccable service..superb food (not just caviar)
A small,,intimate... well appointed restaurant..with the kind of service which never requires looking around for "where's my waiter ?" Our server, Armando, knew all about each item on the menu. Very expensive..but a great place to celebrate a birthday or wedding anniversary ( it was our 42nd)

Fabulous new bar! We were inNew York for our anniversary. after dinner one night we decided to check out the new space downstairs (actually we had lunch there over New Years but had never gone during later-night hours). Wow were we surprised not only by how lively it was but also to be greeted (exuberantly) by our friend the former bartender at Baccarat Debbie! After all the screaming and jumping up and down stopped we had two of her famous cocktails (mine a martini and Ryne a concoction of hers made with mezcal and passion fruit and spice). Of course we had caviar and the staff were so nice. I was somewhat surprised it seemed to close a bit on the early side but then again I am not sure what time we left but we were still involved in our celebration. At any rate everyone was very kind and what serendipity! Whether you want a high styled dinner or lunch upstairs or a more relaxed yet still high styled experience Caviar Russe has you covered!
Be the first to ReplyCaviar Russe Offers Classic Cuisne for Modern Tastes
The cuisine, service and ambience were excellent and provided elegance without ostentation. The tasting menu offered varied selections of seafood and meats, each with its own sumptuous presentation and unique taste. Aside from caviar, the caviar-laced classics and the amuse bouche, there were no other appetizers. Yet the three course tasting menu filled us with plenty of diverse treats.
In addition, the bar served classic cocktails and rich pourings of distinct wines behind a gleaming white counter of sparkle and light. The decor radiated with a cross between Russian neo-classicism and Marc Chagall. The plush and soft-cushioned banquettes offered intimate privacy and a great picture window view of Madison Avenue.
Overall, our party of two had an enjoyable time and felt that we had to return again for more that Caviar Russe has to offer.
Amazing food & service
Had lunch there and although a little expensive, totally worth the visit. Definitely plan to return. The staff was extremely professional & friendly and the food was delicious! Beautiful presentation too! Highly recommend.

The location is comfortable
The dinning room is very nice, not especially comfortable if one critically looking
The service was very quick and attentive
Not necessarily suggestive which is fine
In times felt rushed - also were overly concerned with making sure the tip is included on large group
The food creation was very good
Nice variety and perfectly executed
To feature caviar at its best
Cost is high as you’d expect for the caviar but more annoyance for the non caviar charges
$12 Evian?
Experience none the less
A hidden gem in the heart of Midtown
Restaurant is located upstairs and you have to be rung in which adds to the secrecy and mystery. The dining room is small, intimate and tastefully decorated. The menu was different from other Michelin star restaurants as it allows you to choose 3 dishes out of a relatively long list instead of asking you to choose an appetizer, entree and desert. To start we had Sevruga caviar which was delicious and served with homemade blinis. Out of the tasting menu, we selected the lobster, egg and scallops. The star was the lobster, perfectly cooked with a variety of sides (caviar, avocado, lobster coral etc.). Egg was a close second with tasteful Parmesan mouse and a perfectly cooked egg - however, might have been better not fried. Scallops were perfectly cooked and served with a delicious butter sauce. However, there was only one scallop for a mountain of truffles. Service was impeccable; friendly and attentive. Overall, extremely pricey (~$500 pp)but definitely worth it. We will be back!

Our first trip here was in 2014 and we've been back roughly once a year (except for 2020). We've been having monthly deliveries of caviar to home and enjoying it from afar. It was so nice to go in person. In addition to Cavi1ar there was oysters, king crab and egg parmesan! Definitely go for the vodka tasting

Be the first to ReplyUnforgettably wonderful experience!
Caviar Russe is the definition of a world-class dining experience. Not only was every single dish exquisitely delicious and immaculately plated, but the waiters served these masterpiece dishes with love and care. Premier caviar was somehow able to find its way into almost every single dish and complemented the dishes' rich flavors. Truly a breathtaking experience. From the romantic ambience, to the eloquently detailed decor, to the luxurious seafood creations, to the savory meats, to the heavenly pasta, to the decadent dessert, and to the courteous staff - Caviar Russe is a place that I cannot recommend enough. I have been to many restaurants in NYC, including three Michelin Star restaurants like Le Bernardin, and I can confidently say that Caviar Russe is deserving of the same level of recognition. It is the hidden gem of Madison Avenue. I was fortunate enough to spend multiple Valentine's Days at Caviar Russe, and because we loved it so much it was the place where my fiancé chose to celebrate our engagement. Treat your friends, family, loved ones, and colleagues to a meal at Caviar Russe - you seriously won't regret it!
Be the first to ReplyA Lavish New Year's Eve to Remember
My wife and I recently enjoyed an indulgent New Year’s Eve menu at Caviar Russe. First, the environment at Caviar Russe with gorgeous painted murals on the walls of the smallish main dining room with windows overlooking Madison Avenue is luxurious, refined, and beautiful. We were seated in one of the three plush crescent-shaped booths walking in on the right, which made for a comfortable setting to enjoy our evening. The decadence began with each of us getting 50 grams of Gold Osetra caviar along with a supplemental 125 grams of Sevruga caviar to share. The caviar was beautifully presented and served with crème fraiche, chives, potato slices, fresh made blini, toast points, and warm house made potato latkes. The caviar was exceptional. Following the caviar service, house made breads with three different butters (onion, caviar, and cranberry-walnut) were offered – the olive loaf with the different butters was delicious. Moving into the menu proper, we were then treated to a sensational tuna tartare topped with a generous portion of Osetra caviar in a mouthwatering soy-type sauce – just exquisite flavors. Next, a sphere of rich and delicious jelly encased foie gras topped with a nice mound of Burgundian black winter truffles resting on a bed of Sicilian pistachios served with freshly made toasted brioche – just wonderful. Then, a poached egg, topped with a nice portion of caviar in an absolutely sensational creamy parmesan sauce. Followed by tagliatelle pasta with an incredibly generous portion of freshly shaved white Alba winter truffles (the pasta was a tad undercooked, albeit the Alba truffles were exceptional). The final savory course was Dover sole presented and then deboned tableside, also topped with ample freshly shaved white Alba truffles personally shaved by the chef at the table. The dessert was a delicious chocolate ganache cake served with ice cream. Petit fours were also presented. We enjoyed the whole meal with free-flowing Dom Perignon blanc and then a glass of Dom Perignon rose poured to ring in the New Year. Certainly a pricey evening, but the high quality of the sumptuous food and the overall experience made it well worthwhile.
