Cecchi's New York Reviews from The Last Year

This does not disappoint!! We saw Anthony again but we had another amazing server Noel. She was so sweet and friendly, and provided excellent service. We had a chance to get to know her, she's from Argentina. I always appreciate the great experience with Cecchi with amazing servers and of course don't forget about the food. I of course had to have their incredible burger with that extra thick bacon. My dining companion had the pork chop, one of the best he ever had. Of course, I need to mention dessert, the most delicious, fresh strawberry short cake, with berries from the farmers market and freshly made whipped cream. I will be back soon! Walk don't run to this wonderful restaurant!
Went here for dinner last night and found it to be a bit
Went here for dinner last night and found it to be a bit overrated especially for the price. We started with the $7 breadbasket and I've literally had better bread at an Olive Garden (for free). This was a huge disappointment. For not having a single entree under $35 the bread really should be complimentary or otherwise not be the most basic dinner roles I've ever had with land o lakes butter on the side. Stuffed mushrooms were tasty and we loved the buttery Parmesan sauce on the plate. Nothing innovative but definitely good. The striped bass was good but very rich, salty and heavy ($39), we both had it, and the fries were very tasty ($15). We were so stuffed and feeling a bit sick by the end of the meal so skipped dessert. Service was ok, every time I sipped my water it was refilled which actually I find pretty annoying. The restaurant was absolutely packed when we left and the staff didn't do much to try to create space for people to leave or come in with so many people standing around waiting for their table. Also of note is the gender neutral bathroom with two stalls where you have to share one sink, which causes a line to form and is kind of off putting to walk into the bathroom as a woman and see a man standing there washing his hands. A little annoying.
Oh my God overpriced tiny portions.
I paid $38 for a half a piece of chicken. I know it gets great reviews, but unless your rich uncle is taking you avoid it at all cost. We were starving afterward so we went to bar six around the corner to have dessert and coffee. Good prices good food.
Read reviews, true, it's very loud.
Read Michael Cecchi's book which I LOVED and recommend, so had to go here on NY work trip. Bartenders are very attractive! Food good, restaurant beautiful, got to meet Michael who was very charming. Worth the 2 mile walk in heels, I recommend. BTW, Michael Cecchi, meant to tell you, but I was star struck, Googled all your restaurants and people, and your descriptions were dead on!!
Wonder dinner at a real Shishi joint by Michael Cecchi.
This man has nailed down service. We were graciously greeted by the hostess, who really accommodated our seating request. Food and drinks were also on point. Everything was excellent. Our server Izzy G could not of been more professional and helpful. All considering I accidentally knocked over my glass of water. Izzy and his crew attacked the situation and reset our table so fast, it was like it never happened. Sorry about that again. We'll be back for sure without out the mishaps.
My experience here was mixed.
We started with the San Gennaro in a blanket and then shared the wild striped bass and the steak & fries. We enjoyed all of it, I would recommend each dish. In my opinion the wine list was mediocre. I tried 2 different types of white wine and didn't like either (I like very dry whites). The issue I had was with dessert. We were full and decided not to get dessert. Our waiter tried to push for something mentioning her birthday. We were clear we were full and didn't want anything. A few min later he brought us a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I thought it was a nice gesture but then found a $7 charge on our bill. It's not a lot of money but don't charge me for something I said I didn't want and if you're going to do that at least ask what flavor we like. It's a little thing but really changed my opinion on their business.
Had an exceptional meal and evening here a few months back.
Got seated at one of the plush horseshoe booths under the beautfiul murals...and without even having to palm Michael a hundred...though he did graciously stop by to chat while making the rounds. Was a bit surprised to see a different Michael (Cohen) holding court there at a larger table, though this was well before the current hush money trial started, and, hey...a guy's gotta eat somewhere, I suppose. Food and drink were all excellent as well, but this may be a spot where vibe is king.
Buzzing bar scene, great crowd.
Lively atmosphere. V good hospitality, always trying to accommodate. Michael himself walking back and forth checking in on people. And the burger was very good. As were the martinis. Recommend.
Cecchi's is a difficult reservation to get, for good reason.
The pizzas are some of the best in the Bay Area, particularly in the North Bay. The dough is superb and the pizzas come to the table with a beautifully blistered and charred crust and despite ample toppings, they do not get soggy or limp in the middle. My only complaint is that I wish they had a wider variety of pizzas. My wife and I shared a pepperoni pizza with hot honey and it was delicious if not a bit too salty. The ingredients were first rate and the taste was sensational. The Caesar salad was quite good although a little heavy on the lemon juice. We were celebrating our anniversary and they generously poured us a couple of glasses of an excellent Prosecco. Speaking of wine, their list is extensive, interesting and well priced. We had an absolutely fabulous bottle of Vermentino. Despite the staff being busy as hell, everyone from the host and hostess to our waitress were friendly and engaging. Everyone in the place appeared to be having a great time. The pastas, apps, and other mains besides pizzas looked amazing. Plan ahead and go have a great time.
Great vibe - but then leading to a way to crowded scene.
It gets too loud and we had to shout to have a conversation. Cocktails were great; food were disappointing. NOT A WEDGE - basic STUFFED MUSHROOM - basic SAN GENNARO IN A BLANKET - basic APRICOT GLAZED RIBS - basic CHICKEN À LA KING - chicken pot pie? CALF TONGUE - extremely overcooked, dry, disgusting. WILD STRIPED BASS - basic.
They don't want commoners, which is funny because their
They don't want commoners, which is funny because their food is perfectly common. Obnoxious owner not interested in any semblance of customer service. Unless of course, you are obviously well to do.
Best Service and Dinner Ever!
I had the best time here. From the hostess's ensuring I was honored with my request for a corner table to our amazing waiter Anthony, this is one of my new favorite restaurants. I came here of course for the burger which didn't disappoint. Every other dish was wonderful as well especially highly recommend the brussels sprouts which had the most delightful balsamic glaze and the olives were delicious as well. Let's not forget about dessert. We had the apple crisp and the layer cake- both were very tasty. The food was perfection though the highlight was the service. Anthony is a professional in every sense of the word. He ensured we had everything we needed- and his team of busboys always ensured we had our waters refilled. Anthony was also delightful to speak to sharing with us some stories about some high-profile guests. I look forward to having him serve me again in the future.

Amazing experience, fantastic F&B + service!
Where have you been all my life?! Came to Cecchi's on a Friday to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and was blown out of my mind! We enjoyed perfect Belvedere martinis at the bar and ran into our old friend Josh... the night was certainly off to an amazing start! Once seated, Josh and Tommy took great care of us and did a fantastic job explaining the menu. The loved everything we had! The ribs were so tender and flavorful, the wedge salad was the best l've had, the burger and fries were delicious, and the onion rings were perfectly battered, not greasy, just absolutely perfect! Since I was trying to be "good," I opted for the St. Emilion for dessert. Thank you for offering an excellent wine by the glass! So rare to find that in majority of restaurants, so my vino was much appreciated! The evening was such a beautiful and memorable experience. It was perfect. Thank you to the team at Cecchi's for a warm welcome, amazing meal and wonderful time. We'll be back soon!
Lovely space & good food but I've seen managers and
Lovely space & good food but I've seen managers and bartenders verbally abusing staff to the point that it made me and my party uncomfortable. I also watched a few female staffers visibly uncomfortable with the handsy behavior of a male bus boy. If you've ever worked in a restaurant it's not hard to pick up on toxic atmospheres. This place is loaded.
I was not impressed by the service.
It took so long to take our order. But after the food arrived they kept interrupting us asking if we were finished.
Nice space, especially the lighting.
It's like walking into a mix of a European bistro and modernized version of the American Gilded Age. Apparently, everybody was playing into the Mad Men vibe by getting the dirty martini. The food is ok for the most part. Dinner rolls, kind of ridiculous to charge for. Pickles are not bad, but pickling pineapple is a mistake. Lobster bisque is a little rough around the edges, but it grows on you. Beet salad was the best put of all the appetizers, but that requires little to no cooking, so I'll leave it at that. The mains are much better. Porkchop was the best dish of the night. The fish, forget what it was, and that tells you it couldn't have been great. It was just not bad. Service was overall fluid despite the crowd. I want to give this spot a 3.5 stars, but I realize these days that having above average food in NY is getting rarer and rarer. So I'm rounding up.
The burger and Market Salad were delicious.
The ribs were good too but kind of small to share. Probably wouldn't get those again. We should've gotten our own burger!
Was excited to try this spot out, but immediately upon
Was excited to try this spot out, but immediately upon arrival were greeted by a rude hostess. We were a party of 6 and 5 of us had arrived ~5 minutes early. Our 6th guest had a work emergency and subway issues so was running 10 minutes late. We informed the hostess and asked if we could be seated at our table as the bar area was overcrowded. We were told snarkily that we'd be seated when all 6 of us arrived. We ordered drinks at the bar. 2 of us ordered dirty martinis that were not dirty at all (we actually had to have our waiter bring us a shot glass of olive juice to the table), the third drink didn't arrive. When we inquired about the third drink we were told "you never ordered this". We were also told we had to close out at the bar before being seated. Flash forward two minutes (our 6th person was still en route) and we were told we could be seated and that our drinks COULD be transferred to our table...quite a change of tune in a matter of minutes. On a positive note, the ambience, our waiter Tommy and the manager George were all amazing. The food was so-so, nothing special. Unfortunately, the positives couldn't make up for the overall experience. The restaurant is only 6 months old so I hope they're able to fix some of the kinks, but likely will not be back.
Food is good, but overall the Village bistro lacks "class.
" We were pushed OUT, after 2 hours, following expensif dinner w drinks & brandies. (Front desk is run by freshman girls. Managers of elegance are nowhere). The chef's book, newly published, has gone to his head. For 3-star food, you can do better. (Asked to leave after 2d round of brandies reveals vulgarity herein.)
Best meal of our trip to NY
We found this restaurant in an article about the best restaurants in Greenwich Village. It was one of the best meals of our trip to NY. Classy, modern, inviting decor and environment. Super friendly, attentive, helpful staff. My wife had the pomegranate cosmopolitan and I had the “tickle me prickly” cocktail which were both tasty and well prepared. The salad was light and fresh, my NY strip was perfectly seasoned and cooked; my wife loved her chicken a La king which was rich and satisfying but not too thick or heavy; the onion rings were AMAZING (light and crisp and the best we’ve had); the banana cream dessert was delicious! The service really was first rate. Water glasses were always full and we felt like we were being welcomed into someone’s home. Will definitely return! Highly recommended.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
