Fantastic food and service.
Excellent food and service. We had the sashimi (yes, Italian sashimi) which was fantastic. Also the chopped salad and a pizza. All the best we’ve ever had. Some signature cocktails and good wine list. Would definitely go again next time we are in Yountville.
Be the first to ReplyOMG The Polenta!
The food is fabulous! Most of the time I accept the recommendations and try...it is almost never a mistake and this time was no exception...everything they recommended to us tasted wow! But I couldn't stop eating La Polenta....you can't not try it!
Be the first to ReplyFun food. Rushed service.
Popped in on a chilly evening. No reservations. Quickly seated by the efficient host. Perused the menu. Ordered the excellent Frank’s’ Negroni, Sicilian white wine by the glass and the focaccia. All excellent. The waiter (uninvited) then launched into his recommendations for each course. Rapid fire delivery. He checked back twice to see if we were ready to order. Not yet, we said. We ordered. Loved the breaded pork chop. Very large but delicate, moist and not at all dry. A pleasant surprise. Had the huge Caesar. Messy and crisp but not distinctive. Was not saved by the $18 supplement for anchovies. All in: fun, active, rapid paced and pleasant meal. The overly aggressive waiter spoiled things a bit imposing his recommendations and pushing our pace. Why the rush? We exited the restaurant precisely 60 minutes after arrival. Will probably not return.

If you are in the area this is a fantastic meal option. It is really buzzy has really great pizza and wonderful salads. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to all friends and family who visit.
Be the first to ReplyVery Noisy
This has to be the noisiest restaurant I have ever been in. The waiter even had to shout when he told us about the specials. The food is good but not that many options. It is served in large portions so that it can be shared. As a Napa resident, I know there are many better options for Italian-style food.
Be the first to ReplyGO!! THE BEST!!
I’ll never be able to eat Italian food ever again unless it’s here. The most incredible pizza and pasta my husband and I have ever had. Bravo! Such a cute, quaint vibe as well. Amazing wines.
Be the first to ReplyFamily style at Ciccio?
First the downsides. It was hot, crowded, very small and noisy. The place is family style so the food comes out in no particular order which is fine unless three things come out at once. And some dishes seem better suited to one person if you’re hungry. Also a reservation is a must. No way you are walking in and eating here. The pros? The food is delicious. We had sole, bavette steak, Caesar salad, meatball stuffed peppers and a white bolognese pasta. We were told the menu is constantly changing so while all our dishes were excellent , they may not be available for someone else. Service was friendly and perhaps a bit too fast.
Be the first to ReplyBEST meal in Napa!
Best meal in Napa! Atmosphere, service and food…spectacular! Cocktails, Caesar salad, pork Milanese and pizza delish! Gelato the perfect ending!

Average food We were there on recommendation I don’t think I will ever crave this It’s not bad but not great Tomato pizza has blob of cheese on it that’s placed after it cooks Bucatini was so-so Not coming back unless my arm is twisted
Be the first to ReplyInnovative menu family friendly.
We were a couple at a 2 top on a Sunday in June. It wasn’t too loud and the team was excellent. Gnudi /grilled olives/ tomato pizza all excellent. Surprising they use small glasses for red wine ? Highly recommend they are finding the groove and it’s a good one.

Four of us who live in Yountville were eager to experience the "new" Ciccio Restaurant since it reopened a month ago under Christopher Kostow's helm. There was a lot of buzz about this restaurant, which was previously quite popular here. Upon entering, the look was pleasant and bright, a cheery upgrade and better table layout than in the past. No longer large "group" tables. The place was busy and LOUD. The first thing we found out was that we could not order in stages (Rule #1). We were also told that item portions were meant to be shared family style. We had to know everything we wanted and the kitchen would course it out for us. So, it took a while to put the entire list together. We had heard from other locals that a few items were "dry" (the chicken, the bucatini and the pork chop), so we stayed away from those. Normally, we like to order things at our own pace to control the speed of delivery and because we don't always know portion sizes or when we will have had enough. As we feared, the 4 items we ordered under the appetizer section basically all came at once. We wanted a lot of small plates and no mains (entrees). That really doesn't fly here, as we were told that the chef wants the items served according to their groupings (appetizers, then pastas, then pizzas, then mains) (Rule #2). All 4 appetizers were very good. The focaccia was unusual in a good way - a large round crispy loaf with flavor. The grilled olives were also unique - small green pitted mild olives in some tasty oil. The shaved mortadella and Caesar salad were also very good. Everything was a hit. Then we received our 2 pasta dishes (theoretically our entrees). The gnudi was out of this world! We were fighting to see how we would divide up the 7 gnudi balls among the 4 of us. The other pasta was the mezzelune, kind of a pork pot sticker-looking item. It was also something everyone wanted (another debate over dividing the 6 raviolis by 4). We had now been there 50 minutes, which is a short period of time for dinner out. The speed with which food came to the table sent a message that they wanted to turn tables and get people out (we commented to our server about this). We then asked whether we could now order a pizza (a possible violation of Rule #1). Yes, this was OK. So we ordered the tomato (Margherita style) pizza. You can add anchovies, but only 2 of us wanted them, so we asked that the anchovies be placed on half of the pizza. This level of customization is not allowed - either anchovies on all or none of the pizza (Rule #3). We ended up ordering the anchovies on all and moving them to the side that wanted them. Lastly, we ordered decaf lattes. We discovered that they do not serve decaf espresso (Rule #4), so were unable to have them at all. In summary, the food is very good, the service was very good, but the restaurant is very noisy and the rigidity and inflexibility ruined the experience. We felt that the customer's needs took a back seat to the interests of the restaurant. Given all the other great restaurants locally that seem more customer-friendly, we will not be going back.
Be the first to Reply10/10 Worth it
The food is amazing. It’s not a super fancy presentation type of food…just great tasting food. From their pizzas, mussels, pasta…every little thing was delicious. We turned the entire visit into a tasting menu visit and basically ordered half the menu so that we can taste it all…and all of it was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and the vibe is super low key. Drinks were also made very well. Highly recommend going there and can’t wait to go back.

We made reservations here after reading other reviews. The food was amazing and the staff, out of this world. Everyone helped each other out and there was a genuine feel of family that we encountered as guests.
Be the first to ReplyThink of Italian and get a small soup bowl of Pasta ?
Ok, this place is nice. The Negroni were great. You are paying Napa prices for pasta. I mean 27 - 30 dollars. I can get a good steak dinner for this price, but we are in " Ciccio " the Italian experience is worth it - right ?
We are waiting in anticipation, my wife and I got two different pasta dishes as so we can try the varying dishes.
The staff is working very hard, The anticipation building and here comes our dish. A small soup bowl of pasta for our meal. I think I could have counted the pasta noodles - I am not kidding I could have counted it. I mean how expensive is pasta in Napa ?
My wife immediately read me. I tried to make the best not to ruin the night. We even tried to share each other dishes, but really just one scoop practically emptied the dish. The food was tasty, the experience lacking.
Next to me was another couple and they also had the same dish. The large gentlemen had four scoops of pasta and the dish was basically gone.
I wonder if I could have counted the pasta noodle and have done the division to determine the cost of each noodle.
Ciccio, if you are going to charge.. then charge.. but make the meal worthy of the charge.
People dont mind paying. Buy bigger pasta bowls and people will come,
Not great
Very overrated and overpriced casual restaurant. Limited menu. The pizza sauce is very salty and hardly any cheese on top of the pie. At $26 this is a ripoff. The Campanelle with pork was not very large and there were two giant pieces of fat mixed among the pasta. The Diet Coke was not a Coke and had an odd root beer and sarsaparilla taste. Had to send it back but they did comp it and replaced it with wonderful Pellegrino water. Service was good and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious dinner
This was our favorite meal in Yountville. The ricotta toast with figs was yummy. And the pizza was one of the best i have ever tasted, the sauce was delicious. Great service. Good wine list. We will definitely come back to Ciccio when we return to the area.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic yummy Italian food in Yountville. Go eat at Ciccio while visiting!
Lively atmosphere. Authentic yummy Italian food. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner Frank and thank him for creating such a fun space. When asked how to pronounce the restaurant name Frank shared with me that the restaurant is named “Ciccio” after his childhood nickname. I am 100% Italian, a foodie and a sucker for a good story. I was amazed by Frank’s presence on a busy Friday night - if his staff needed any assistance he was there to help them. My husband and I can’t wait to return back on our next visit to Yountville! Thank you for your kindness and great service :-)
Be the first to ReplySuperb dinner on the porch
Frank was so helpful when I was reserving a table for our family gathering. We got a table on the front porch and everyone liked their meal... great spicy salami pizza and the seafood pasta smelled wonderful. The wine from Altamura was good too.

I was expecting a really good restaurant, but my expectations were greatly exceeded. The wood fired mussels were plump and ultra fresh. the wood oven bread and the sauce and Aioli that accompanied them were so delicious. The pizza that was also phenomenal, might have had the best pizza sauce that I have ever tasted.
I can't wait to go back.

A bit disappointed this time
On a previous trip to Napa, dinner at Ciccio was one of the highlights of the whole trip, so we were very excited to return this year. Granted, our previous meal was pre-Covid and we had done their chef’s table dinner (which doesn’t currently exist), so maybe our expectations of a meal at Ciccio were a little too high. This time, we came for dinner about a week after they had re-opened for indoor dining, and our meal was just ok. The food was generally all good, but the experience as a whole was a little off.
Prior to our trip, I was so excited when I saw that Ciccio had reopened for indoor dining and I was very happy that I managed to get one of the limited reservations for this tiny restaurant, which were snatched up quickly. I know this restaurant is very popular with locals, so competition for reservations is probably harder than at many of the more touristy restaurants nearby.
When we arrived for dinner, our server came over quickly to take our drink orders. Throughout the meal, she was efficient, but a little unfriendly. However, I could see they were understaffed with only two total servers for all of the indoor and outdoor tables, so it wasn’t a big deal.
To drink, my wife had a glass of one of their Italian red wines, which she said was fine but not memorable, while I wanted to try a negroni off of their special negroni menu. I like negronis and was curious to get more information about the differences between them, but our server didn’t really provide any information when I asked, just saying that she liked a certain one and that was about it. I ended up getting that one, but not really loving it. It was a fine negroni, but just didn’t taste special or memorable in any way.
Food-wise, we split the kale Caesar salad before splitting two pastas and then finishing with the spicy pizza, which we remembered loving last time. Overall, the food was quite good, similar to what we remembered. I really enjoyed the salad and the pizza, although we both agreed that the pastas were good, but not standouts. However, although it’s a casual place, I was kind of shocked at how rushed the meal felt. Even with having three separate courses of food, we were in and out in under an hour. This just seemed too fast given that the meal wasn’t all that cheap and we would have liked to have more time to enjoy one item before the next thing is already coming out.
My other complaint with the experience would be related to the general vibe in the restaurant that night. It was very obvious that most other people in the restaurant were locals, many of whom knew each other and the owner. Everyone around us was constantly getting up and going from table to table to say hi and talk to others, while the owner was doing the same, making the rounds of the tables of people he knew. I didn’t expect that this was something I’d mind, and no one was rude to us or provided bad service, but it almost felt like we were invading a private event that we weren’t supposed to be part of. I think everyone was just excited to be back out and seeing people, but it somehow had the unintended consequence of making us feel a bit out of place.
All in all, our dinner at Ciccio was certainly good when considering the food. They definitely offer strong Italian cuisine in a casual setting, and it remains some of the best food we’ve had in Napa. However, since we were there for a sit-down dinner, some other aspects of the meal, such as the overly fast service and the general vibe in the room, soured us on the overall experience. We probably should have just gotten takeout and enjoyed it in our hotel room, which would have been much nicer. We’d come back to Ciccio in the future, but it wouldn’t be as much of a ‘must do.’
big letdown
The quality is not the same; the food tastes poor, for example, the sandwiches and its sides. The prices are still steep, especially for the poor quality. Needless to say, we will not be returning. To top it all off, we had to wait past the estimated online ordering time. Despite giving the restaurant a few minutes to finish our order and arriving after the designated time, our order was still not ready. There was not even a line of customers present.--Not worth the trip.
