Cirrus Dining Barangaroo Reviews
Not value more money
Over priced - not value for money. The lobster was smothered in so much unnecessary stuff that we felt like washing it off. The oysters ordered were far too creamy to be Sydney Rock. No bread!! You can find better value seafood a bit further south on darling harbor.
Classyβ¦without generosity
Great disappointment for this restaurant about which I had heard good comments. Pleasant cuisine but ridiculously small portions for exorbitant prices!! Ordered bread and a slice for two⦠never before seen Service by a young, very relaxed beginner, not at all suitable for this type of restaurant. Fortunately, the addition of 3 young French people to the team, trained in large establishments, will surely allow this restaurant to progress and welcome guests properly and more. generously to its customers
Visit to Cirrus restaurant
Service was friendly and attentive . It was all downhill after that . A seafood platter for two ( or what masqueraded as a platter for two ) at $140 arrived , comprised of 6 x undersized oysters , a few clams, two small scampi and some sushi plus 6 little bits of radish with sauce π³ - it was barely an entree for one masked as a platter - not a prawn in site ! Needless to say it took about 5 minutes to finish and we were still hungry . We then topped up with chips and 5 prawns - each prawn was $18 each and the chips ( quite tasty ) @$12 a bowl added a further $102 to the bill ( are we gluttons for punishment , or what !?!). In all , an awfully expensive experience, which , with 2 Peroni and a glass of scotch and coke was $150 per head ! You can get way better value for money just about anywhere !
Below expectations
We filled in a questionnaire before arriving and yet the staff didn't know what we were celebrating. That was disappointing given the special requests we had included. The food was also very salty and did not meet expectations.
My favourite Sydney restaurant this year
My favourite Sydney restaurant this year! Let's begin with the service. I call it fine dining with casual flair. The politeness and professionalism of fine dining without the stuffiness. The food is outstanding. The Black Onyx striploin is cooked perfectly, with a delicious oil and jΓΉs. The scallops have texture and flavours that excite the taste buds. The raw Bluefin tuna fried bun with smoked sour cream leaves you wanting more. The drinks list is huge. Think a selection of wines and cocktails that will delight and surprise. In short, Cirrus delivers in every area and surpasses nearby restaurants without the hefty tab. After 6 visits, we want more.
Exquisite dining experience.
My husband and I enjoyed a simply stunning dining experience at Cirrus Restaurant at Barangaroo on Sunday evening. We had already decided to have the shared style tasting menu with wine pairing after perusing the menu online earlier in the day, and what a great decision that was! Being coeliac I was incredibly impressed with the truly delicious gluten free bread that was promptly bought out to me, enjoyed with the most delicious honeyed butter. My husband and I are no wine experts, but we truly enjoyed this wonderful wine experience. The wines were absolutely perfectβ¦every dish was paired so beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed every single drop! Our meals were equally perfect. I devoured the scallops for entree with that amazing gluten free bread & honeyed butter. The Kingfish and Grilled Prawns were up next, and equally delectable. The Barramundi with brassicas was simply exquisite, whilst the Sir Thomas Striploin with mustard oil and jus was a medium rare delight. We finished our meal with the Yoghurt, White Chocolate, Macadamia and Passionfruit and I can honestly say that this was THE BEST dessert I have ever had the pleasure to eat! So perfectly balancedβ¦leaving me wanting for more. Our plates were left with nothing on them for every courseβ¦simply divine food. Our dinner last night was a truly sublime experience, and another beautiful memory for us. Compliments to the Chef and the Sommelier and our fun serverβ¦thank you.
Good food but overpriced and poor service for this standard of restaurant
At Barangaroo with lots of other restaurants around it, this is a very expensive restaurant. The food was good but the service was slow and inattentive.
Expensive for good quality of food
Restaurant choice is very much everywhere in Sydney. The food in here was good especially the king prawn which was charged at $100 Aus. dollars. The rest were good also but way too costly for the meal. The dining room itself was really dark and service was far from between .......not very attentive. Definably you enjoyed your meal but at very costly bill. Good for once for the experience.
Wonderful dinning experience
Outstanding friendly service , the food fresh and beautifully presented , above all the taste of the food is outstanding .
Excellent venue, great food.
Perfect waterside location in modern part of Sydney. Starter of Cornfed Chicken Wings with Kombu Butter had crunchy exterior with wonderful moistness. Followed by a large fried Australian rock lobster, less sweet than Atlantic lobster, but with very 'meaty' lobster flesh. Great tasting inexpensive 2019 Woodlands Cabernet Merlot wine. Staff were effective, calm and quietly efficient. Should be the flagship of the Bentley Group.
Excellent fine dining in Barangaroo
This was my third visit to Cirrus Dining and the restaurant continues to impress me. The set menu is an excellent choice and I took the matching wines. Because some of our family did not want to drink alcohol and ask the staff if they could do a matching mocktail offering instead. While not on the menu, the staff was very kind to give this a try and it really worked out with excellent mocktails for each dish. The food was fresh and tasted excellent, with mainly seafood and angus beef as the second main course. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sydney. The experience is not cheap but is worth it.
Great experience!
Awesome service and amazing food, efficient service and cooked to perfection. Particularly loved the tuna entree and coral trout and duck mains. Yum!
Unimpressed
Very unimpressed. Way too loud & cramped to talk. Ordinary food & service. Menu on website didnβt match the menu given. No duck or chicken on offer. Coral trout was a tail with so many bones it was inedible. Salad was like a 1970βs iceberg creation. Chips with chicken salt? Seriously? Talk back from our waiter. We left bitterly disappointed.
Average but costly
This was the only restaurant serving after 9 pm that we found. Staff were excellent and food nice except crumbed swordfish!!!! When I said I wouldnβt have ordered the swordfish if Iβd known it was covered in breadcrumbs the waiter said that it didnβt say it was crumbed on the menu. When plates were collected and so much left on my plate explained to the waitress why, she said βIβll make sure that staff tell people in future about the breadcrumbs. Under no circumstances was what we had worth the cost. On a positive note staff were all lovely and very professional.
Average
Atmosphere and location is great but the food is very average. The cost does not reflect the quantity and quality of the food on offer. Paying $50 or more for 2 very small slices of fish fillets is outrages. What appears to be squid rings which amounted to a spoonful only is bordering on theft. The owners should seriously think about adding more on the plate otherwise it is just a another "wannabe" fine dine restaurant offering very little food on large plates. This is an honest review which I truly hope to see a change as the location is brilliant.
Excellent
Had been here once before when the Crown Building was under construction - now that is finished the whole precinct looks great. The food, wine and service is all as I remember it - 10 out of 10. The food is interesting without being too way out and the wine list had a good selection of wine by the glass. Special mention goes to the sommelier and our Italian waitress. Not cheap but in my view worth it. Will be back for sure.
Fabulous
Fabulous experience in a beautiful restaurant with great view. Super friendly service and the food what a great experience.
