As I walked into Ciudad, I was immediately struck by the cool yet cozy ambiance. The low lighting and sleek decor gave the space a sophisticated vibe, while the upbeat music and lively chatter made it clear that this was a spot where people came to have a good time. But it wasn't just the happening atmosphere that impressed me - the service was understated but some of the most attentive I've experienced in a while. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, offering suggestions without being pushy and making sure that our glasses were never empty. And while the kitchen was clearly busy, everything arrived at our table promptly and beautifully presented. And speaking of the food - wow. The creativity of the dishes at Ciudad was truly impressive. Each plate was a work of art, with vibrant colors and unexpected combinations of flavors and textures. We started with the lamb ribs, which were packed with tender meat and served alongside a tangy harissa sauce. The octopus was another standout, with perfectly charred tentacles that paired perfectly with a chermoula. And the pork collar, which practically melted in our mouths, was served with a rich mojo verde. But what really sets Ciudad apart is the way that all these elements come together to create a truly memorable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a special occasion spot or just a fun night out with friends, this is a place that delivers on all fronts. From the impeccable service to the inventive cuisine to the lively vibe, Ciudad is a must-visit for any food lover in Seattle.

Grilled meats? Sounds good to me! I ate here with a couple friends in my last visit to Seattle. It was a bit off the beaten path for this out of towner (in the Georgetown area) but definitely worth the trek! We got here at 6pm on a Wednesday so there was no problem with seating, which was good because there isn't a ton of seating here. It's got an informal, hipster feel to it with some interesting wall murals.Seeing that it's tapas (shared plate) style, we got the lamb riblets, patatas bravas, flatbread, and a 1/2 pound each of the hangar steak, pork collar, and prawns. We really enjoyed our meal and everything was tasty (steak and pork collar really stood out for me) and we actually had a lot of leftovers- we could have gotten away with one less side and 1/2lb less of meat between the three of us- but it was great to try so many great things!

Amazing eclectic food! Everything off the grill is fantastic, especially the pulpo (octopus). Always start with hummus and pita.

Ciudad is one of several gems in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood. I had the opportunity to visit solo for happy hour back in 4/2/19 and revisited it for lunch with a college friend on 2/25/23. Definite pro tip: show up as close to their 1130 opening time. Easier to snag street parking and a table. Visit #1, I sat at the far right of the bar counter. Loved my selections back then and well was taken care of the bartender. Clearly I forgot to post from that visit nearly four years ago. Visit #2 was part two of a belated Christmas lunch meetup with a college friend. I was happy to revisit Ciudad. We had a brief wait in the grilling area prior to being seated at a corner two top. Pleasant wait person who provided amazing service for the entire dining room. Loved the interior vibrant pops of color and healthy foliage. For this visit we stuck with water - it was nicely chilled and not tepid. What we ordered:*Saffron Cauliflower: loved the presentation and flavors from the shallots, apricots, hazelnuts and date molasses ($15). I'm more of a broccoli gal, but trying some was truly a palate pleaser.*Lamb Riblets with harissa BBQ sauce, labneh, house pickles, and fresh herbs ($16). I ate one third, the other two thirds the next day. Meat literally falls off the bones. Loved the labneh & harissa combo!*Grilled Tahini Chicken Thighs (1/2 pound, $22) - so flavorful and tender!*Grilled Shawarma Spiced Prawns (1/4 pound, $14) - so plump and sweet!*Grilled Pork Collar with mojo verde & cilantro (1/4 pound, $13) - succulent*Flatbread (2 at $4 each) - mandatory to sop up all the tasty sauces and marinades!Lemon wedge and finishing salt were also provided on our tray of grilled items. This was a truly satisfying, finger licking good meal. On point service, delicious assortment of menu items, no room for dessert though. We had enough time to dine, but felt it was best to have coffee and more convo elsewhere. There were folks that were waiting patiently for tables. I definitely thanked the adorable, personable grillmaster as we were leaving. It takes experience, deft hand and sharp eyes to perfectly grill all the menu items. Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyA bit hard to get a table with how busy and small spot.
Went to get a table but they wouldn't seat two of us until our third was on property. This made it hard so we had to stand and have a drink while the table they had for us was free. Once we did get to close out are 1 drink and sit, excellent service and experience. Drink was OK, nothing to run back to. I order beet marg then carrot marg. Not a ton if taste but dang, beautiful color! Server was knowledgeable about amount of protein we should order which was helpful because you order meat by the pound and can make your meal family style. Cauliflower stuck out, the sweetness was so unique with the chopped dried apricots paired with the crunchy hazelnuts. Loved the hangar steak, great cook and marinate. The individuals sauces were the showstopper adding a perfect element to the meal. My favorite was the chimichurri which was all fresh herbs and a cannot miss. If you can get a spot, this is worth the experience!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing flavors.
Chill but responsive service. Dips are excellent, so there's something delicious even if you're not a big meat eater (but the meats are really really good). A little gem.

Ciudad is almost like a speakeasy in that it's hidden behind a door of what looks like a butcher shop. The murals and the decor give the restaurant a really nice funky, vibrant vibe. The drink menu is darn good - try the spicy carrot margarita. It's a tapas restaurant so you should order a bunch of dishes to try. The cauliflower is delicious but a bit sweet. Halumi is hellagood. I would say the patatas bravas is a bigger dish so beware it doesn't fill you up - that being said, it definitely hits the spot. Brussels sprouts - fantastic. Protein: try shrimp and hanger steak (you can get three different sauces for dipping). Ciudad doesn't take reservations so if you're planning on visiting on a weekend, account for 1.5-2hrs of a wait during peak hrs.

As you can tell by the number of my reviews, Ciudad is a favorite. Consistently great food with something for everyone to enjoy and friendly service. They have a nice balance of keeping favorites but rotating some new things in. I hope they keep the coffee flan. That's our new favorite along with the absolutely finger licking good prawns!!

Be sure to stop in this Georgetown gem! Don't be fooled by the un-fussy ambience. Each small plate is better than the last, with artfully balance flavors design to highlight the hero of each plate. Particular favs include the seared halloumi with delicate winter squash, beef and lamb kofta perfectly spiced and married with smoked yogurt. Saffron cauliflower, and tahini chicken were big hits too! Looking for a taste of the Med you will not be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyCuidad came highly recommended and I concur.
I highly recommend!! Came early on a weekday and was surprised to walk into a small butcher area -we were confused if we were in the right spot- only to open the next metal door to a vibrantly decorated room with tables and delicious aromas and food! We were quickly seated and got some good recommendations. Figuring out quantities was a little tricky tho - we ended up ordering 1.5 pounds of meat for 3 of us and we had a lot of leftovers, which I didn't mind because everything we ordered was fabulous - from the appetizers (potato bravas and the lamb riblets) and a meat platter of succulent shrimp, pork collar, chicken with various sauces and some Flatbread. Everything was seasoned and cooked well, sauces were great tho you pay extra for them and loved the fluffy flatbread! Service was super friendly as well though they were busy and it was sometimes hard to get their attention for water and takeout boxes but I understand.. . just felt bad it led to us to stay and take up a table a little longer as there was a growing wait. Looking forward to a return visit and trying more items. Well worth going out of the way for a visit!
