We are visiting Barcelona and I search good place to eat, and this restaurants one of the best, so we decided to and wait outside, we order octopus and paella 1st of all the line was long but it was moving fast, the host call us and seated us very nice guy, and someone come to get our order very polite young guy, So we try the Octopus it was good but I have better one, and the Paella was really good on my husband taste and myself, we travel and this paella is one of the best I have, place ambience was good, staff was nice so our dinner was a good experience, love it I'll recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyWe wanted to experience the best seafood paella in town
We wanted to experience the best seafood paella in town after a long walk throughout the city. We heard Colom was frequented by locals, known for tapas and paella. We waited in line 45mins along with other non-locals and tourists hoping that the wait would be worth while. We placed our orders immediately after seated and hoped for the best. The atmosphere: casual with Columbus themed decor. Very nice warm woody tones. Service was great and friendly staff eager to help when asked. We waited 45 minutes for our paella to arrive but didn't think it was that spectacular. I've had paella elsewhere that tasted much better and didn't have to wait over 2 hours. The pulpo tapas was fantastic. I'd probably come here again if I didn't have to wait in line for 45mins. Overall: The food was good but not worth waiting in line 45 mins to get in and another 45 mins after placing the order.

Be the first to ReplyWent to Colom and was waited on by a man named Mame Gor.
He was very kind and attentive to our table. Food was great, I would recommend.

Walked past this place a few times - always a line at night got me really curious to try. It did not disappoint! All of the greatest hits of tapas were available and everything came out fresh, hot, and delicious. Loved that they had a wide variety of Paella fillings as well! Our host Mame Gor was so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend coming here and trying as many things as you can! Favorites: - Paella - Bunelo de Bacalao - Patatas Bravas - Manchego - Tortilla - Red Sangria
Be the first to ReplyTourist trap, terrible food.
Expect two days in bed after seafood paella. Dont bother, find better restaurant.

I don't get why there's always a line for this place- the food is average at best and the service is inconsistent. The paella was ok and the appetizers were about average. Our original waiter was pretty much non-existent after he took our order and we basically had to employ the help of the other waiter on staff that was pretty much picking up all the slack. Before you say "that's the European way, they don't rush you when you eat", stop- I know- this was beyond that. Ignore the line, keep on walking, there are so many other better choices in Barcelona for better quality food, service, and experience. I'm fully convinced they hire people to stand in line to make it look popular- well, fool me once...
Be the first to ReplyI had lunch at Colom.
The interior was clean and neat. Staffs were professional. The food were delicious. The octopus was extremely tender. I thought the paella was going to be salty based on others' review, but I guess the kitchen saw that I was Asian and put less salt for me. The Calar beer was very refreshing and unique. Overall highly recommended!

We'd seen the massive line a day early at Colom so decided to give them a try when it wasn't busy. They have a second location in the El Poblenou neighbourhood. Dropped in on a Monday afternoon (3:45pm) and had a short wait for a table. Seems they inflate the line on purpose as there were plenty of empty tables. Our waiter was going to charge us for a glass of house white (3,00€) that they never brought to our table. Their paella price is deceiving on the menu; 9,50€ to 9,90€ per person but is a two order minimum. Paella takes 20 minutes to cook. - Pulpo a la gallega (9,90€) - Galician style octopus with paprika, olive oil and potatoes. Octopus was fine but nothing exciting. - Paella de conejo (19,60€) - rabbit paella. The rabbit was dry and overcooked. The rice itself was fine. - Champiñones a la planche (4,90€) - grilled mushrooms. Bottom pieces were tastier than the top. Again, nothing special. - Shots - two complimentary shots (cream and herb liqueur) to end our meal. Gimmicky. Colom wouldn't be on my list to return.

Without a reservation, I followed the crowd and ended in line at Colom. With a wait and smiles on the exiting guests faces, I assumed all would be well. The quick punchline is it was not worth the wait. The food was prices alright. The portions adequate. The flavor, however, was mostly absent. Nothing stood out as it all came in flat. The octopus was over cooked and over seasoned yet was still blah. The paella was a total mess. I appreciated how they included a good amount of rabbit, but again no real taste to describe for you. Even the salad seemed to be missing something. It should be no surprise that after that initial excitement, I left disappointed. I skipped dessert and recommend you consider skipping it all.

The menu offered a variety of paellas and I split the the seafood one with rice with friends, plus ordered the one with noodles which surprised me in a good way! Minimum order of 2 people per paella. Wine bottle prices seemed really affordable (coming from the US) The wait was about 30 minutes and there was a line outside of the door. Staff was friendly and food was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyTLDR: Okay/Good, but not amazing.
Came to Colom in search of some seafood after strolling around the Gothic Quarter after seeing the raving reviews on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, the experience did not match my expectations. Pros- Great selection of tapas and other dishes, you'll probably find what you are looking for here- Tasty Sangria, both red and Cava- Good location, slightly away from the extra packed streets but close enough to keep the vibes upCons- The food is extremely... meh. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. But nothing was amazing. There isn't anything particularly wrong with it but I also can't say I LOVE THIS to anything I orderedI wish I could give this place a 3.5 because it is right in the middle of Okay/Good.
Be the first to ReplyFood was underwhelming.
The reviews were great, and we even asked patrons leaving if it was good (they said yes) so it made it even more disappointing. The jamon imberica and manchego cheese was bland, the garlic shrimp had a gritty sand texture, the pork loin was boring, and rabbit tasted like a dry Thanksgiving turkey. The black squid ink paella was ok at best.On a positive note, the line moves fast, place is clean and staff is friendly.Price point was very reasonable but suggest skipping and save the appetite for something else - not worth the calories.Ended up going to Cerveseria Catalana - much higher food quality and atmosphere.

The food is here tasty and the service is attentive, however I think there are restaurants that do paella just as good, if not better, especially given you will have to wait to get seated. We shared the pulpo a la gallega and a seafood paella. The pulpo was little too chewy for my taste and the paella was good but didn't blow me away.

Has great reviews on trip advisor and therefore waited in line. Rated 91/8800+ places to eat in Barcelona. Was very disappointed. No favor in the food overall. Crab tapas was basically fried balls of mystery meat. Paella was undercooked and seafood was over cooked. Only thing I liked were the anchovies. Definitely would not recommend.

8.82/10 - The sangria definitely carried this... the potatoes were less than underwhelming but the sangria was I have never had such good sangria in my life (sorry ms.sharma) this paella also set the night right -1 tho cuz there was a little Shelly situation at points but overall it made me love paella which I didn't think I would. The meatballs were also 10/10 they were exactly what I was expecting -1 cuz there were no nut free desserts buttttt the on the house Baileys shot at the end (not pictured) made up for it. Shout out to Marcus for hustling for those yelp reviews

Looked at the reviews and see a few recent one but here is the real story. Arrived Barcelona on the 11th at 9:00 and hotel (Holiday Inn Express) did not yet have a room available so off to the beach and a long walk. Searched Yelp for a TAPAS place and found a highly rated LALuna and stopped there for a late lunch ( 1:30pm) when they opened. Food was great so back on the walk and Hotel check in. Went out at 7:00pm for a dinner of tapas and found Colom..... WOW what a great place Tapas we're reasonably priced and large portions and staff very friendly but no a lot of English skills but there English was better than my Spanish. Food is GREAT, my favorite was the fried bay cuttlefish and of course the fried pimento peppers. The have a awesome bottle of Spanish CAV Nature for about 14 euro and is incredibly dray and tasty, had to have two! Have tried no less than 10 different Tapas places and keep going back to Colom almost every night for the pat 5 days. I almost never leave yelp reviews but the wife and I really liked this place
Be the first to ReplyWe wandered down Las Ramblas to the waterfront.
The last plaza contained this large column. On the top is a statue of Christopher Columbus pointing to Africa or maybe Genoa? It's eye-catching and a prominent sculpture at the waterfront.
Be the first to Replythis was a really great dinner.
we had to wait a bit but the paella was wonderful. warm and attentive service and a surprise after dinner taste from Mame Gor. all friendly. they got our order perfect and we are full and happy! will come back!

Really enjoyed the sangria, however I felt that the paella and some of the tapas we ordered (meatball, sausage) weren't anything particularly special. These tasted slightly under-seasoned. Our waiter was quite friendly and checked with us frequently.

I went here with a group of friends and was incredibly satisfied with the experience. We got a variety of tapas, some paella, and of course, some sangria. I have to say, the quality of food was so high that I'd argue that this restaurant has been my favorite place to eat in Barcelona. Although all the food was incredible, my favorite part of the meal was the squid ink paella. The restaurant was very busy when we went, however, we got our food quickly. The staff was very friendly. I will be coming here many more times!

Who is reviewing this place with 5 stars? Food is mediocre at best. Very bland and basic. Regret going. Was left shocked by the good review and scores on Yelp, trip advisor, and google. Do yourself a favor and look harder for a quality dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyThe tapas were delicious! The paella was amazing as well.
A must try is the chocolate shot for dessert because dessert is mandatory here (not really)! Can never complain with that. Great service and definitely will return.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was highly recommend on TripAdvisor, so we paid
This place was highly recommend on TripAdvisor, so we paid a visit here. There was already a line forming when we arrived. The service here isn't the most friendly (probably because of the amount of people waiting to eat here), and it is cash only. We ordered the seafood paella (all their paella's require a minimum order of 2, prices are per person, and a 20 minute wait). The paella was tasty, and so were the two tapas we ordered. The grilled shrimp was definitely the better of the two tapas. If you're a small group like us, do be patient as the paella will take the full 20 minutes, so don't fill up on too many tapas (although it's very tempting)!

This was one of the best, though simple, meals that we ate during our stay in Barcelona. Started with the Iberian Jamon plate which didn't disappoint. And the best sangria (cava) and mixed paella that we had anywhere in town. Beautiful prawns, big pieces of calamari and tender rabbit. Yum! Cash only so be prepared.
