Excellent food and even better service
I have been serval times and they have excellent talented friendly staff and the food is amazing. The warm atmosphere is so nice to be in. This has one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. This is a real treat, it is a bit pricey but well worth the price. They should be training other restaurants how to provide a great service.

In the past 2 years, I think the quality of London restaurants has plummeted. In particular, I have found the service in restaurants has been slow, surly, and other words beginning with 's', but also food quality hasn't been anything to marvel at. Well, Darby's has restored my faith in London dining. This was my third visit, so I can safely say this was not just a one-off great experience and this time with my girlfriend to celebrate my 35th birthday. We had the warmest welcome from Stefano who, when we requested a booth table that had just been left by other dinners, quickly went to clear it and reset the table for us. While he did this we sat at the bar for a drink (ended up being 3). The Guinness Old Fashioned was a big hit for me and then a classic Negroni which was delicious. Most important to note was the service from our barman Mike which was first class. When we went outside for a cigarette with our drinks he quickly ran to get us both blankets and also let me sample one of the whiskeys being discussed at the Irish whiskey-tasting event happening at the back of the restaurant. We finally sat down to eat which we might have overdone - The cheese puff things with walnut pickle were amazing. 6 Oysters - fresh and delicious and the pork nuggets which were really good. Then came the 1gk rib on the bone with peppercorn sauce, broccoli, and potatoes - I practically had to be rolled out the place I was so full but the food throughout was fantastic. Compared to a recent 3 Michelin star restaurant I went to in Knightsbridge, Darbys was an infinitely better and more enjoyable experience. We were also very lucky to have Robin Gill (head chef and owner) at the restaurant that night who we got to briefly speak to. In summary, this is my new favorite restaurant in London that takes its service as seriously as its food. An unforgettable experience made true by people who really get what London dining should be about. Big thank you to Mike and Stefano who really made our night. Finally a quick nod to the restaurant itself which with its big dining area, open kitchen, very well-styled interior, and cool finishes makes this a really relaxed but stylish venue to eat at.

Always a 5 star service and food offering at Darby's. The attention to detail and amazing food has me consistently coming back. Sunday Lunch with the live music is a perfect setting for closing out the weekend - making it my favourite day of the week. Thank you to the whole Darby's team for bringing the best to your customers and fans :-)

If you ever wanted an example of a London restaurant that served sub-standard food at ludicrously expensive prices and offered an indifferent service you would go a long way to find a better example than this place. If you want to leave a restaurant hungry and extremely light in the pocket this is the place for you

Staff attentive and friendly. Oysters so fresh. Food full of flavour. We went Saturday about 1.30. Not busy, just right.
Be the first to ReplyDarby's is consistently fantastic
I have been going to Darby's for more than three years and what keeps me coming back is the knowledge that this restaurant never disappoints. The quality of the food is always top notch and well executed, the staff are knowledgable and friendly, and the design and atmosphere of the place is wonderful. The menu is constantly changing with innovative and seasonal dishes, the wine list is very well curated, the cocktails are delicious and skilfully made, and the meats are always cooked to perfection. The agnolotti, the filet and the beef fat potatoes are to die for. I would recommend Darby's to any friend, and in fact have taken most of my friends and family here already. Everyone is always impressed. If you want great atmosphere, great food and great service (and very often great music) come here.

Beautiful restaurant and setting. Beef pie was delicious but when the pollack was almost raw the chef agreed but still had to pay.

Always a pleasure to visit Darby's - a hot favourite in Nine Elms for Happy Hour Oysters (5-7pm thu to sat) a must do. Amazing menu, worth staying on for dinner. Sunday roast is particularly good, coupled with great cocktails, wine incredibly attentive service and live music. Do yourself a favour!!

Delicious inventive food in a stunning setting by the US Embassy and its mound of wild flowers. Superb service and an excellent evening out
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and warm service!
We came as a group of 8 girls for a lowkey hen do celebration, and had the most wonderful time! We decided to order loads of starters and a couple of mains as a sharing meal, and so we got a good idea of what the kitchen has to offer. Our dinner at Darby's was hands down the best meal we had in London all weekend (brunches and high teas included!)! Very hard to single out a favourite dish, but the meat pie, agnolotti, mango icecream, and crab sandwish (not necessarily in that order) were outstanding. Also worth noting that the two gluten free members of our little group received an entirely separate printed menu with plenty of choice to accommodate all alergies and intolerances - all equally tasty. Thank you thank you for the attentive service and amazing food - we'll be back!

Great service from such friendly staff, and wonderful food and drinks. Loved the jazz music. Had the pork nuggets to share, lamb cutlet and cod with side dishes.

Done in the style of the extravagant restaurants in the USA capital, our lunch in this glorious restaurant was perfect. Food was exquisite - try the eel tartar - and service was fun, the exact amount of attentive and the staff seemed to enjoy working there.
I plan on coming back regularly.
Superb Valentines Dinner
We went on Valentines night when there was a set menu. We generally don’t go out on 14 February after previous experiences of being ripped off.
The Darby’s experience was totally different. Absolutely superb. From the warm greeting from the Maitre’D to the excellent attentive service we received all evening. The restaurant was very busy, yet the service friendly, efficient and relaxed.
The food was spectacular. There were a selection of amusée bouche starters. Each one was incredible, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be the oysters with a touch of marrow and garnished with kale. Truly outstanding.
Main course of beef was also fabulous and cooked perfectly.
We had Sunday lunch there just before Christmas, which was excellent. However it is great to see a restaurant provide such a well thought-out and delicious meal for a special occasion.
There was a really great classical guitarist playing in the background.
Can’t wait to go back.
Brilliant in concept and execution
A significant birthday saw us at Darbys; my first time. The spacious settling was reassuring given the need for distance these days. Everything (apart from the odd route our driver took on the way) was spot on. Amongst the highlights was a smoked eel tartare that remains one of the best things I have ever eaten. The wine list has interest across the board (natural wines, sherry, sweet to mention a few) and includes some excellent value for money items. The red Rioja had good age and complexity and came in a surprisingly good prize. Our cocktail advisor translated my very loose specification into an absolute winner (Southside) and the house lemoncello went down very well indeed. Meats and sides were outstanding and the walk to the loos gave a hint as to why. The meat room upstairs (passed on the way) contains a staggering array of fabulous looking cuts, including a slab of pork skin. I was still wondering what delight that might dress as we wound our way home. Can't say enough good things about the place.

Really enjoyed my lunch with my former colleague and having a good catch up while eating some delicious food and drinking some fine wine.
Be the first to ReplyTruly memorable evening
It was a perfect evening. Food, drinks, service, live music, ambience, everything was exceptional. We celebrated my partners 30th Birthday and were given a great table as requested so we could enjoy Kevin Davy White’s Blues performance which was fantastic! We were surprised by a lovely birthday card signed by each member of staff and were able to select cocktails beforehand and have these delivered to our table as soon as we arrived as a little surprise for my partner. The manager Mike was wonderful and very happy to assist in making this a truly memorable evening. There was never a point where we had to ask for anything, our waitress was always there exactly when we were looking to order or needed a top up on our drinks. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly, the sirloin steak in particular was very impressive. We were so stuffed and our lovely waitress had acknowledged this and very kindly offered to pack up the leftovers for us to take home which we did. Thank you to everyone at Darby’s for a really wonderful evening! We will be recommending to all of our friends and be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing birthday treat!
Went here last night as a birthday treat, I'd told them in advance that it was a birthday booking. We were seated at a great table / booth and there was a card signed by all the team working that night - a lovely touch.
Food was great, we over ordered as there was so much we wanted to try, every course was delicious. The team were attentive and also help me select a special bottle for the occasion. Again, great! The cocktails are a must too!
Thinking about booking this for our annual Christmas get together with our friends.
Great steaks - over and over again
We are a regular at Darby‘s and are always surprused by the constent quality of food and service. This time we opted for steaks and again, they were spot on and as expected (blue fillet and medium rare sirloin). As we love food and especially a good steak, as we cook ourselves a lot and know that a good steak is not that simple, kudos to the Darby‘s crew. And thanks for the special birthday welcome ! Highly appreciated. Always recommending Darby‘s !
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing food
I was quite excited to visit Darby’s sister restaurant Sorella in Clapham Common with my boyfriend but unfortunately they had a temporary closure due to covid so we were offered a table at Darby’s instead. The service was very friendly and our waitress was great! The place is very nicely decorated and comfortable. However I feel that the food was not amazing at all, we found the starters and main courses to be very bland and very simplistic. The dishes didn’t have any complexity and were not seasoned enough. It is very expensive for what you get in terms of flavour. And there was no salt and pepper on the table. The desserts were actually a pleasant surprise, both our desserts were great! Would definitely recommend the desserts. But overall I was disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyStylish Brassiere with Excellent Service & Lovely Food & Drinks
Very stylish looking brassiere with great indoor and outdoor space very close to the new American embassy.
Service was absolutely excellent just the right side of attentive but not over bearing.
Drinks were very nice and my parter loved her Aperol Spritz with a generous pouring of Aperol to make it nice and dark orange just as it should be and rarely how it’s ever made in London bars… so a big plus…
Food we just had nibbles but the breast and olives were delightful. Bread gorgeous and the butter milk butter was a very nice touch. The mushroom pate liver mouse was outstanding..
Value wise the bill was very reasonable. Not cheap but medium pricing for London.
Definitely will go again.
