The return of Chef Shane to Healdsburg has been a boon to this restaurant and re solidified its position as a great restaurant serving brilliant innovative Californian cuisine at its best!
Be the first to ReplySolid choice; fantastic service, delicious food.
This is one of the long standing restaurants since this building was added to the area and for good reason, it's a tried and true. The service matches the delicious menu and fantastic cocktail and wine program. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. I don't give 5 stars often but this hits the spot.

Perfect service thank you Dan and Chris and the best in Sonoma County Chef Shane for delicious food. Very impressed with the prime lion NY steak and pave potatoes, seared scallops over risotto cakes, shrimp dumpling! Highly recommended and love the attention for celebration, a must go
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for a 50th birthday party.
We had a prefix meal we had agreed upon ahead of time. Our reservation was for 7p. There were 17 of us and we had a private dining area. It took us over 25 minutes to get our first drink and then over an hour before we were served with our first course at 825. The first course was good, but nothing extraordinary or special. It took so long that the owner was generous enough to share a bottle of white wine (amongst 15 of us), because of the extraordinary delays. The third course was supposed to be a fillet mignon for me, which arrived well done when I had ordered it medium rare as any good steak should be cooked. There was no pink I could identify even in the center of the steak after cutting it in half (even looking with a flashlight). Then, when I brought this to the waiters attention, she replied with "I can see some pink in the very middle". No apology for the fact that we had been there for nearly two hours before receiving our entrées and the fact that my steak was completely over cooked. I asked for a new one and some twenty five minutes later it arrived, still beating and bleeding, A LONG TIME LATER- after the rest of the table was nearly done with desert. This is after we ordered two bottles of wine for a cool $600 (of which they added 20% gratuity to, Despite the fact that the server only came around to open it and pour the initial taste- never to return again, to pour a glass and not to return except after I was finally able to flag a server down to say my overcooked steak didn't look that overcooked. We had paid $180 per person (to include tip) with no drinks for this disastrous experience. The service was awful. We were constantly getting up to ask for basic things. Like a steak knife for example..... When we returned from this trip the host reached out to the owner to discuss our horrible experience and suggested the best way to rectify it would be to take care of the $450 bar tab for our cocktails. They refused. We were all floored. A table full of c suite execs and lawyers and business owners - how is this place still in business? After far too much time back and forth they finally offered a four person dinner for whoever returned, knowing full well none of us live nearby and none of us would want to roll the dice on this place again after their response (terrible service that day and following) to our very reasonable offer of compromise. What a disappointment. I would give zero stars if that was an option.
Be the first to ReplyHad the Thursday Sonoma Neighbor menu last night.
Pre-fixed 3 course menu at a very good price. Food was plated really nicely with great taste. Nice attentive service. Brought everyone's plates for each course at same time. Really appreciated that. Only minus was that the cannoloni (one of the available entrees) was a bit bland. Otherwise scrumptious food and desserts.
Be the first to ReplyVery good, lovely meal with impeccable service.
Scallops were cooked to perfection. Risotto was good with perfect brown butter sauce. We all enjoyed our dinner very much.

Very Festive for Christmas Celebration! Super service & Ambience. Wheel chair friendly. Did not have big appetite since earlier attended food & wine pairing. Only cocktails tonight, all wined out. Gem lettuce & beets (just right portion & very tasty.) Main course pork & beans (really good don't see on menu's to often), Strip Steak. No room for dessert. Thanked mgr for such well trained staff. Even bar tender chipped in to clear table. Total teamwork.

Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg has the most wonderful 5 course Chef's pre fixed tasting menu. It changes frequently so you'll want to go back again and again. If you're fortunate enough, you'll be served a most decadently delicious, perfectly prepared scallop. Dry Creek Kitchen is a beautiful and elegant restaurant with very attentive servers. A wonderful place to go for a romantic dinner. Very special.
Be the first to ReplyWe chose this restaurant for our 33rd wedding anniversary.
Food was outstanding. We are now drinking up our wine cellar of 40+ years. An added joy was that there is no corkage charge for Sonoma County wine. Tom welcomed us to celebrate with a glass of bubbly. Melanie, our server was ably assisted by Ellie, Treavor, another young woman who was shadowed by Estralla (or Star name). We enjoyed every bite and we're pleased that they permitted us to share our many dishes from Caviar, Mushroom Ragout, Beef Loin w/potatoes, and Chocolate-peanut butter dessert. This was topped off with more sweet nibbles. Only negative experience: I am a woman with multiple sclerosis and use a rollator. Treavor offered to show us the way to the bathroom, but there were stairs. The bathroom is not in the restaurant, but across in the Healdsburg Hotel. We had to go out the front door, down the walkway (no rain!) into the Hotel, thru the bar and down a long hallway. Fortunately, this was at the end of our meal, we finished our wine, and I asked Treavor, a server, if someone might help me go across the street & help me into my car. Treavor said he would be happy to help to help me himself. My husband was recently diagnosed with mild dementia and needed assistance, too. A perfect gentleman as were all the outstanding staff. We shall return, Betz & Sam

We dined here last night with some neighbors, celebrating multiple Birthdays. We did the 3 course tasting menu and everything was excellent! We had caviar, shrimp dumplings, salads, steak tartare, linguine, chicken and steak. Each dish was fantastic. We all shared and I didn't taste one thing I would not order again. Service is top notch and the dining room is beautiful. This is definitely a 5 star experience. There is a newly appointed executive chef and he is obviously very talented.

Service was outstanding, and the martini rinks as one of the best I've ever had but after having the bone in ribeye for to a year ago and haven't fall off the bone and be something that we couldn't wait to go back to healdsburg to have again, sorely, disappointed. The meat was tough and the highlight this year was the hassleback potato and shrimp and grits was definitely a stand out as well but I would guide the restaurant to serve one or two less shrimp because it's a meal in itself, and the grits were cooked perfectly and a delicious tomato broth. Just super disappointed that we've been dreaming of that ribeye for a year and it wasn't even good, it was just OK. We finished the meal with a dirty chai cake, which was so hard you couldn't even cut it (so if you're looking for a moist piece of birthday cake, this is not it) we each took a bite and left the rest. We go out of our way to eat at Charlie palmers establishments, but this one was much better last year.

The girlfriends and I came in here for dinner and everything was great. The service is always top notch, I love how they always checked on us and make we have everything we need. The ambiance is perfect for those romantic dates and the food never dissapoints!
Be the first to ReplyThis is by far my favorite restaurant in Healdsburg.
Hands down, it has the best service in town. (Thanks, to Dan). Great food. Nice options for no corkage on local wines. Also, there are a number of meal options: A la carte at the bar (or Spirit Bar), 3 course prix fixe, 5 course tasting menu. They also participate in a number of specials and charity events (ie. Sonoma Restaurant Week, Jazz on the Menu... and that's just this week!) It is special enough that we had our wedding dinner there. And casual enough for a nice dinner with friends.

This might be the best meal I've had yet since moving to Napa/Sonoma. The dishes are very unique takes on classic comforts presented with incredible style and excellent service. I definitely felt taken care of. The ambiance was comfortable elegance & I like that you can sit at the bar for a la carte options. The short rib pasta was to die for as well as the duck! My friends and I tried 3 desserts and all three were amazing (chai cake, peanut butter chocolate cake, and cheese cake with grapefruit). Will definitely come back for their Prix fixe menu
Be the first to ReplyI am very surprised by the overall review score of 3.
5. I had a lovely meal here and an overall great experience.Upon entering (we were a party of 4) the staff was all smiles and welcoming. My only complaint at this point was that they sat us right in the front adjacent to the very busy bar. Maybe because we had an early reservation at 6:15pm, so next time I will make a point of asking for a table towards the back. At least the restaurant acoustics are pretty good so we were still able to chat over the loud bar crowd. The wait staff is truly wonderful, so attentive and always checking on us. We all went with the 3 course dinners. I must say they sure don't skimp on the portions here and the price of $75 seems just perfect to me. I started with the Himachi Crudo, simply delicious and fresh. Next I had the New York Strip steak and I learned that their medium rare is really more like a "rare", so next time will order medium. It was still really great though. The desserts are really great as well. All in all we had a great experience and will return.
Be the first to ReplyWe were a 4 some.
All of us ordered the 3 course dinners. The 5 course tasting menu requires that everyone at a table order it. Kind'a like being at mom's house, you eat what she gives you.So right off the bat, the dinners were very good but not over the top - OMG - "This is the best thing I've ever eaten". As the 4 of us selected different things and shared bites, I got to taste most of the menu items. My shrimp grits was delicious plus. The 4 giant shrimp cooked perfectly. The grits were moist, flavorful, toothsome and buttery but not to a fault. My medium rare steak was also seasoned well. My inclination is to order a steak cooked medium, but at the behest of my wife she insisted that I order this one medium rare. And truthfully to my taste it was undercooked, actually almost uncooked in the center. Wine selection and enthusiastic recommendation: The Vivier Pinot noir. $21 glass. Smooth and rich tasting without being sweet. (All the wines by the glass and bottle are typical 4 to 5 times markup from retail. (Several Bay Area wine shops sell this Vivier Pinot Noir for $38 / bottle.)The best food of the meal? The desserts. We tried 4. Loved every single one.The best overall factor at this place: The service! From greeting to exiting the level of pampering is almost royal. Every server (we met 4) was calm, focused, attentive and knowledgeable. One of our party measures a restaurant satisfaction by the quality of service over the food. She was delighted here. So, for $75 per person this place offers great value. Given that upper end dining in ultra-touristy Healdsburg at the top 10 restaurants is horrifically expensive (ie; Single Thread), you can be quite satisfied with the Dry Creek Kitchen without emptying your bank account.

Almost forgot to mention Dry Creek Kitchen which provided our Thanksgiving dinner last year. We were hard pressed to find a restaurant on Thanksgiving that was open and almost resorted to purchasing take-out from Oakville Grocery and Little Saint the day before and simply have a haphazard Thanksgiving meal in our room at the Healdsburg Inn on Thanksgiving. Ms. S's Turkey Two Ways and my Duroc Pork Chop were superlative but what stood out the most was the service (and they were packed on Thanksgiving Day) which rivalled the French Laundry...

We went here for my birthday dinner and had such a great time. Dan, Brian and Alyssa were so nice to us. The salmon was melt in your mouth. The chief inspired our next thanksgiving dinner: Turkey Confit. Thank you!!
Be the first to ReplyWe recently celebrated a birthday with friends at Dry Creek
We recently celebrated a birthday with friends at Dry Creek Kitchen and were thrilled with the food, ambiance, and service. All of the items on our three course dinner were expertly prepared, artisitically plated, and delicious. The servers were friendly, efficient, and unobstrusive. We felt the price was more than reasonable for the outstanding quality of the food.By any standard, this restaurant is exceptional. The attention to detail and pacing of our meal was excellent. The wine choices were carefully selected to accompany the three courses and reasonably priced given the quality. The general manager, Dan Prentice, visited our table twice and was interested in our comments and very gracious. We had never visited the restauant before, but will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is truly one of the best places we have
This restaurant is truly one of the best places we have been to in Healdsburg (and we've been to a lot of great restaurants in the area!). We went here for our anniversary and from the beginning the service was impeccable (extra shout out to Brian, our server, who provided multiple wine pairing suggestions and allowed me to taste multiple wines even though I was just getting one glass). Each dish that we got from the pre fix menu was excellent; my salmon was perfectly cooked and my partner loved all of the great vegetarian options. I don't know why this restaurant isn't rated far higher. We would highly recommend it!

We dined here on Monday, the first day back with indoor dining. We started with a wonderful bottle suggestion from staff. A Pinot Noir by Tongue Dancer wines. My best friend and I both wanted red meat so this paired nicely. Cast iron focaccia was delightful. Wild mushroom tart was our first course. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and there was lots of them which made me happy. The crust of the tart however, was slightly over cooked, making it hard to cut. My friend went with the burger. She ordered medium-well and she was happy with it. The shredded lettuce threw me off. Why not put a fresh piece of whole leaf lettuce? Shredded lettuce oxidizes and reminds me of Sysco fast food burgers. I ordered the rib eye. Anything over medium rare is over cooked. My steak came out at medium. This cut should be juicy and slightly fatty. Unfortunately it was not. The charred broccoli and green onion was ok. The "rice cake" did not belong on this plate at all. It was boring, crunchy and bland. Same texture as the only vegetables on the plate. There was about a teaspoon of a very very light green sauce. This was good but I wish there had been more of it. There should have been a potato of some sort. Maybe a purée to match the steak. Something more hearty than a white rice cake. It was all crunch, no cream. Definitely a texture clash. I felt ripped off for that 60 dollar plate. Being the most expensive item on the menu, I should be impressed. I was not:( For dessert we ordered the earl grey creme brûlée and it may be the best CB I've ever had. We also went with the baked Alaska. That too, was great. We finished with two espresso martinis. These were delightful. The foam stayed with the drink until the very end. It never went flat. This was achieved because your bartender used plenty of ice, which I LOVE. Our service was great and everyone was friendly. We tip big because covid is a jerk and my friend and I could be loud at times:) New chef came out to visit and seemed super nice;)We enjoyed our time catching up and sipping wine. My expectations were a bit higher for this place because we have such great access to meat and vegetables in this area. I hope to return in the summer for peak vegetables and perfectly cooked meat.
