Both Food taste and service was terrible .
Everything was too salty and we poured water to make less salty. We said about this issue to the server and one of other staff member but they didn't react anything. Don't go this place. I was so mad for service today. It was terrible experience ever.

Whoaaa! This place is a hidden freaking gem! I finally tried it after hearing a lot of hype from my friends. And oh boy, did it live up to my expectations. The ambiance has dim lighting, Chinese art work, warm and inviting vibe. My friends and I ordered from their vegetarian/vegan friendly menu. We shared scallion pancakes, veggie spring rolls, mushroom potstickers, glass noodles, mapo doufu and veggie fried rice. The portions are decent and it's super yummy, flavorful and perfect amount of spice for me. While all dishes were spot on, but mushroom potstickers stole the show for me. They were amazingly crispy, and delicious. We also got complimentary almond cookies after dinner. Drinks were also very good (we tried a few and all turned out to be incredible). The service was decent too and server did a good job in explaining the vegetarian menu. It still amazes me that this was my first visit here in spite being in Chicago for the last 7 years. Duck Duck Goat now is my favorite Chinese restaurant and I can't wait to visit again!

Amazing everything Best short rib and bone marrow dumplings I ever had. Shishito peppers were a combination of crunchy and soft. Delicious drinks, amazing vibe.
Be the first to ReplyExcited to come here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday.
Had a reservation at 7 and had to wait about 5 minutes for the table to be ready- not too bad. We were seated and were t approached by a waiter for about 5 minutes. it was a pretty busy Wednesday evening. Ordered some drinks. took about another 10-15 minutes for the waiter to approach to order dinner. we ordered 4 dishes for two of us and it was plenty of food, with leftovers! We started with the xiao long bao. Nothing too exciting, had an interesting and salty broth. The hot and sour soup does not taste like your authentic type, and wasn't a big fan of it. The xian goat slap noodles were dry and had too much cumin. Very overpowering. My favorite dish was the veggie fried rice. Overall, food was not the best or impressive for the prices. And to top it off, service was extremely slow. I was shocked by the quality and taste of the food based on how popular this restaurant was! Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning and not worth the cost

Went here during Chicago Restaurant Week for their lunch menu. Jiaozi potstickers were so good, kinda reminded me of Din Tai Fung . Their fried rice omelette was to die for . Each dining room inside were themed and well-decorated. Love the ambience. Service was very quick!

Food was tremendous! Service was great! We ordered too much, but ate 90% I think I gained 2 pounds. I like spicy foods and got the hot sauce trio on the side - perfect. Drinks are a bit pricey so maybe get tea or lemonade (great lemonade). Only issue is the same for many places there which is parking, probably best deal is to Uber there. Definitely would go again.

This place was a winner for the entire party of 4 I went with. I've ordered to-go from here several times before and loved it, but the dining in experience was even better given the prompt and efficient service, vibrant decor, aromatic smells, and sizzling hot and delicious food that came out of the kitchen. From appetizers, to entrees, to dessert, to cocktails, everything I have had here is a 10/10

Made a reservation a week in advance for 6 people at 5 pm on a Saturday. Definitely a fun and unique dining experience. I will note that in the evening the lighting is low, but not too dark to enjoy your time. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for the quality of food. The portions are family style so I highly recommend sharing multiple dishes to try a variety of flavors and meals. A really fun spot for a nice date night or for a friend's gathering.

Super loud and busy place, but the staff is very at the attentive despite this. The food was okay. There was a hair in one of our dishes and multiple people stopped by to apologize and we fill they fixed the problem right away.

Went here for Chicago restaurant week, they had a planned menu and it was Amazing! Really recommend this place for sure.

Ordered takeout, which you can conveniently pick up at their side window, so this review is only based on that since I didn't actually go inside. It was very convenient to be able to walk up to the window and grab my food. All of which was delicious. I got the crab Rangoon which were light and airy and not super oily like they can be sometimes. Then I moved on to the Dan Dan slap noodles which come in a healthy sized portion that I had to save half for later. The hand pulled noodles give it uniqueness, and the flavors were well balanced and had depth. I would definitely go back and dine in or even takeout again
Be the first to ReplyI highly recommend this place.
We've had dinner as well as the Sunday brunch menu and both are fantastic. Lots of sharable small plate dishes and we ordered almost everything for the 7 of us. The crispy potato (on the entree side of the menu) is fantastic and we ordered a second round.Don't skip the potstickers and the crab rangoons. Hard to recommend a couple things because there wasn't a bad plate on the menu. By the way the server was super helpful and charming. Make reservations because this place is popular. The decor is also amazing. I kind of felt like i was in Beijing circa 1927
Be the first to ReplyI was here for a group reservation, but we didn't end up
I was here for a group reservation, but we didn't end up sitting until 15 minutes after. They don't have much of a waiting area either so waiting for our table near the entrance (as other customers also walked in and got seated right away) was awkward. The food was just okay. The most notable and tasty dish for me were the Xi'an Goat Slap Noodles: very flavorful and the noodles were bouncy and cooked well. I had high hopes for the jiaozi (beef short rib & bone marrow potstickers) but it was just okay. The ambience was lively and the decor was beautiful. It was nice to experience it and also see the cute goats pictured on their custom dishware. Service was lovely overall.
Be the first to ReplyGood vibe, good food, good service.
I've lost count of how many times we've been here. Not necessarily the most authentic Chinese food, but they aren't trying to be. I find their takes to be interesting and objectively delicious. Some favorites are the goat slap noodles, the jiaozi (pan fried dumplings), char siu pork buns, duck fried rice, & chilly chili noodles.

Be the first to ReplyIf you like Chinese food, then I can't think of a better
If you like Chinese food, then I can't think of a better choice than DDG in Chicago. I generally prefer hole-in-wall Chinese with cheap prices and authentic dishes, but the execution here is pretty phenomenal and I think it's an experience like no other.Their goat "slap" noodles, are basically biang biang noodles, and it's probably the best biang biang I've had in Chicago. I normally think soup dumplings aka Xiao Long Bao, is a bit of a boring dish, but the way they did it was amazing and probably the best dumplings I've had. Their duck fried rice is probably also the best fried rice I've eaten. In short, everything I've eaten there thus far has ranged from great to mind-blowing. I can also recommend their kung pao chicken, bone marrow dumplings, and veggie omelet (brunch only), but I kinda feel like there's no point because it just all tastes so good and you should just try everything. It's a bit pricy, especially if you like food on the cheaper side, but the quality is well worth at least trying once. If nothing else, get the slap noodles and fried rice, but you can't go wrong with whatever you try.

Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the duck fried rice, Jiaozi, and the green beans. Our server was also an absolute delight. I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyI had high expectations for this restaurant after looking
I had high expectations for this restaurant after looking at all the food pictures. The atmosphere/vibe and service is great but the food was meh. The soup dumplings were ok. The filling was a non descript loose mess. The green onion pancakes were tasteless and greasy. The duck spring rolls were flavorless and the mushy duck filling was bland as well. Vegetable fried rice was very greasy but the taste wasnt bad. It needed more vegetables. The pekan chicken looked great but couldnt make an entree of it. Too sweet and more about the texture crunch. Where was the chicken? Just over priced chinese food.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is a must in west loop/Fulton market.
I go every time I'm in town and honestly I went 2 times during my last visit. The staff are so nice and helpful. The food never fails me. I crave these noodles on the regular.
Be the first to ReplyThe aesthetic of this restaurant is quite unique.
Visited this past Sunday for brunch with a girlfriend. Our server KC was such a gem, and made our experience outstanding. Upon her recommendation we decided to try the following items: Char Sui Bar ( BBQ Pork Steamed Bun) - one of the most popular items on the menu ( unfortunately not pictured as we devoured them right away. Jiaozi ( Pork potstickers) - great portion (5 medium size) & DELICIOUS. This Little Piggy - somewhat of a biscuit sandwich with a sunny side egg and a pork patty. It was full of flavor and beautifully presented. and Xi'an Crispy Potatoes as a combo - they are to die for. I am a sucker for good and fresh food, and I must say they delivered! From our seats we could see the chef preparing our food right before it came to our table. Will definitely be back for dinner. Check them out !

Came here during restaurant week after hearing many stellar reviews, unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the food. The restaurant week menu included the dumplings, shumai, beef & broccoli, beef noodles, and green beans. Each dish either had no flavor or was insanely salty (the green beans were salty to the point of being inedible). On the bright side, the service & vibe earned the restaurant a second star. The restaurant week price was reasonable, however, I could never justify the normal prices for the very mediocre food.
Be the first to ReplyWOW was this good.
Made a reservation for an early dinner on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately in a cute booth near the bar. We ordered several plates to share as a group of three and took leftovers with us. The biggest standout dish was the cauliflower, you HAVE to get it! The atmosphere was great, staff attentive, and vibes solid. Check it out!
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed the trendy Duck Duck Goat on a Thursday while in
Enjoyed the trendy Duck Duck Goat on a Thursday while in the city on a business trip. We had a reservation for 7pm for four but arrived shortly after 7pm (due to traffic) and waited for about 15 mins at the bar prior to getting seated. The restaurant was lively and happening for a Thursday night which excited our group because it seemed like the place to be! We enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar before getting seated. Our server was friendly and attentive to our needs despite the restaurant being busy. We ordered a variety of items to share ranging from veggie spring rolls, green beans and mapo tofu to pecan chicken, spicy chicken and pork fried rice. The food was brought out as separate items rather than everything together which made it difficult to enjoy the full meal together. I ended up eating most of our items in a staggered way which I felt took away from the experience. The portion sizes were all good and the taste was decent. If you're looking for authentic Chinese flavors, Duck Duck Goat may not be the way to go. Despite not being authentic in taste, it was good as Americanized Chinese food. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant is awesome! The food was decent and the service was good. I'm glad I got to check out Duck Duck Goat while in the city!

The service and food were good, but nothing felt special or unique. I felt like I was at a regular Chinese restaurant, eating standard Chinese food. Some of the dishes were actually a little too salty, but overall a good time. The area was very crowded though, parking was a mess.
