Really cool neighborhood spot.
The restaurant is long and narrow. Maybe 10 tables. The staff was warm and welcoming as if they knew you. Although small, we never felt rushed so they could let in other customers. Japanese drinks, plum wine, sake and sodas the selection was 10/10. I'm a lover of radish and cucumber. Both were fresh crisp and subtly pickled 9/10. Spicy ramen was simple but the broth was flavorful and smooth 10/10. The EAK shoyu was again simple with complex broth flavors. Smooth and creamy. 10/10. My new go to while in town.
A cute lil chick place for young people looking for a quick
A cute lil chick place for young people looking for a quick meal in nyc! I ordered the beef bowl and it was a 8/10 te flavor was amazing and the ratio of rice and meat was subpar. I also ordered the chicken bao and it was a 10/10 it's must get! The fried chicken with the mayo is TOO good the service was good not amazing but not bad either. They also had good music playing at just the right volume! Def give this place a

It was a cold rainy day when me and my friend stumbled upon this restaurant. We had just landed in NYC for the weekend and wanted a warm and comfortable place to grab a bite for lunch and sit down after our travel day. We settled on EAK around noon, we were seated and brought water immediately. The ambiance was trendy and casual but felt like a place we could hangout for a while and enjoy the space. It was weirdly warm inside but we were okay with it. We ordered a Chicken Bao to spilt as an appetizer and while it was pretty simple the taste of the chicken was excellent!! Highly recommend getting that at to start off. I ordered the EAK Shoyu Ramen with an egg. It was really delicious but the portion was huge (typical ramen size) I wish I had split it with someone. I'm always hesitant to try new ramen places because Jinya in ATL sets the bar high but I was pleasantly surprised. The thicker noodles were yummy. The broth was tasty too. I wish I had ordered a chicken dish for my entree though because the bao was literally PHENOMENAL and sooo delicious. The taste was just like... so good. For timing, everyone came out very fast, but we were only 1 of 5 tables. In my opinion, EAK is a solid choice.
Amazing! I was a weary traveler that endured relentless
Amazing! I was a weary traveler that endured relentless rain all day in NYC and was looking for warm, flavorful ramen broth before bed. I ordered for pick up thru Yelp and it was ready in the time it took me to traverse the 4 blocks from the hotel. The first think I noticed was the 'A' rating in the window. Next was the clean interior and full house of diners. A member of the staff approached immediately, asked if for take out and even offered my name! The ramen was tender - not mushy, ample chicken and spinach and a flavorful broth. Nothing spectacular but qualify food at a fair price. I would definitely order again for take out.
Still my favorite ramen place to date.
I used to go to the California location on Melrose until it closed down, thankfully they still have their restaurants open in NYC :) the location looks a bit hidden but its so cute once you walk downstairs - comfortable atmosphere. Get the EAK shoyu and add an egg trust me its delicious! Will always come back here as much as I can, love it so much it'll always be one of my favorites!
E.A.K. Ramen is a ramen chain that is actually from Japan
E.A.K. Ramen is a ramen chain that is actually from Japan with over 600 locations worldwide. Their specialty is iekei ramen, hence the name. Iekei ramen is a unique style of ramen that was invented in Yokohama with thick noodles and a broth that combines the taste of tonkatsu ramen and shoyu ramen. In other words, the broth has the flavor of both pork marrow and soy sauce ramen in one bowl. It was my first time trying it, and I can tell you that the broth was delicious and extremely rich in flavor. Their standard bowl here i $17 and it is 100% worth a try.
Decent food and ramen.
Reasonable price. Service was good and attentive. I'll recommend friends to this place.
Good simple and unpretentious restaurant
The place is very small, basic and without great pretensions The staff were friendly and very efficient Good selection of Ramen, not a large selection of sushi and sashimi or raw fish in general It's good for a quick dinner without big needs Excellent, truly competitive prices given the area and the venues in the surrounding area
Good menu. Good food.
Very convenient for theater district. Simple, efficient decor. Nice menu, with lots of noodles and other Japanese foods. Large portions. Very tasty.
5 stars for a Ramen House
It is challenging to rate a Ramen House and Michelin stared restaurants on the same scale. So instead, I rated E.A.K. on a scale with other Ramen Houses. The broth is rich and delicious. The Pork Fried Dumplings are rich and flavorful. The service is attentive and helpful. The entire dining experience is very fast. The Ramen was served minutes after we placed the order. The cocktails were disappointing. Since this rating is on a Ramen House scale, it is still a 5 star meal, since good cocktails at a Ramen House are quite rare.
