Their all you can eat buffet is below average, the quality
Their all you can eat buffet is below average, the quality of sushi is well below what you would expect in a Japanese restaurant, and the BBQ buffet is quite limited with very less variety. Ambience was quite ok, service was not bad, but food was a serious let down. Both the sushi and the bbq buffet felt not fresh, the ginger "bucket" on the sushi belt is a clear example of that. In general, the buffet does not really compare to many other places I go to in Germany, so if you are looking for an all you can eat buffet, I would not recommend this one.

Please, please don't go this place! The food tastes just like frozen instant food and the price is really unfair. Especially the fried ones have the worst taste ever. One cup of table water is 3.10 euros. I felt like being stolen. Horrible place we all should avoid.
Be the first to ReplyReally bad, cheaply stuffed sushi.
Don't go there, not even if you want to stuff your face with all-you-can-eat!
Be the first to ReplyI came to Sakura in December 2010, it was around 13.
30 o'clock and full table. I thought I'll give their famous all you can eat buffet a try. But sadly, I was too disappointed. This place is just unbelievably ludicrous and lame, with Sakura as the name and claiming to be Japanese and Chinese Restaurant, the running sushi was clearly a big fail. The sushi-rice didn't taste like sushi-rice and was dry. You'll find black forest ham and dutch matjes as filling while the real sushi fillings were rare and tasted funny too. There were even these typical Chinese fast food snacks like way-too-dry-spring roll, prawn cracker, etc. This place's just so wrong, even till the last bit like decoration and interior design - I feel like in a cheap plastic ware store with irritating colors. Oh by the way, they seriously need to buy new cutleries and dishes. I thought, I will get better luck with the Mongolia BBQ. But the meat and fish were already gone and there was just some oyster left. I chose some specific BBQ sauce but I got some really oily and spicy BBQ sauce which definitely wasn't the sauce I chose. And it gets better: MY OYSTER WAS STILL RAW! I tell you, it's so gross and disgusting!! Two things more to point out: 1. They took away our dishes and drinks while we were away to catch the BBQ - after we told them the problem they replaced new dishes and drinks for us, later when we paid they gave us also ice creams to take away. Kind of fair enough. 2. This one lady who served us was "per du" with us. Which is in German manner of business really rude. In a matter of fact, I live here and speak the language long enough to feel irritated too. CONCLUSION: I'd give Sakura not even a single star in my review, but it's just impossible on this page. NOTE TO THE OWNER: Better set a good quality with humble price (and winning a lot people hearts) rather than a little price for crappy food which doesn't only upset my stomach but does me too.

Sakura holds a special place in my heart, as this is where I had my first dinner date with my husband. This of course was in the pre running sushi days. We recently moved back to Stuttgart and thought we would go to Sakura for old times sake. We were quite shocked to find a conveyer belt there to greet us. Not quite the quaint little place it once was. We decided to give it a shot anyways, not having a lot to lose with the 15,90 all you can eat deal. The conveyer belt delivers quite a variety of items (fruit, puddings, dumplings, satays, red cabbage, etc) , but not really a lot of sushi. A lot of the sushi that was on it were quite strange. Smoked salmon, ham, and other strange ingredients. The sushi rice also didn't taste like sushi rice, it actually had no flavour. We were fortunate enough to get a couple plates of sashimi each, but they were never to be seen again. The sashimi was okay, but the fish was barely defrosted. The only sushi that really tasted okay was the salmon (the non-smoked variety). We did not try the mongolian bbq that is also included. I guess in summary, the quality was on the low side, but I guess what can you expect for the price. The service was a bit abrupt and I felt like we were somehow inconveniencing her. It was also my first experience where a server used du with me in a restaurant. I do not think we will be returning.
Be the first to ReplyThe name is Sakura asiatische und Japanische Küche.
It has same owner from Taotao Chinese restaurant. But it's different, maybe just today.(I hope ;-) ) I have been there 2 or 3 times before. I would give it 3 starts rating before my visit today. Service was not so good today, stuffs was unfriendly. Lunch around 8 or 9 for each person, all you can eat, with rolling Sushi bar and Mongolia BBQ. Food is better and fresher at dinner time, of course, the price is also better: around 14 or 15 for 1 person.
