Last night at the Grand Canyon, we saved the best for last.
The food was outstanding. I had the Elk Bolognese, which was simply delicious. My wife had the Grilled Steelhead Trout....stupendous! The service was excellent, Ashton was attentive and just a pleasure to talk with. If you ever have the opportunit
Not the best service; food poisoning.
Great ambience and overall we enjoyed the experience. BUT, I woke the next day with stomach issues from the meal, as did my partner. Waiter has trouble recommending an appropriate wine. Waited forever for the wine sample which was the opposite of wh
Fantastic experience
We had dinner at El Tovar and we were lucky enough to get a window view. The food was first rate. The service was attentive. Shout out to our waiter Tom. Do make reservations if youโre planning to come for dinner. We had breakfast another day and
Interesting menu including Elk.
Food well prepared and delicious. Good selection of beer and wine. Leave room for dessert. Plan extra time to learn about the history of the founder Fred Harvey.
Excellent food and service
Excellent dinner. Both service and food were amazing. Hard to beat with a view of the Grand Canyon at the same time. Superb!

Food is just okay, but service is absolutely terrible.
The servers are inept and the bartenders very slow.
We just love this restaurant.
The service staff is exceptional and very attentive. The food was well prepared and delicious. We sat at a table with the view of the Grand Canyon. Just a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Old World Charm and excellent food
Honestly I was surprised how good the dinner was as with the presentation and service. Wasn't expecting much although the price point wasn't inexpensive. However the value was excellent. I only wished the other restaurants at the Bright Ang

Charming and convenient; reservations a must for all meals. Waitstaff is dressed better than patrons, and the friendly service matched their attire. Most diners are casually dressed in their hiking apparel. My husband's steak was very tendon-y a
The food was spectacular.
I had the Elk Bolognese, my mom had the Stroganoff, and sister had the Summer Salad. It was nearly as overpriced as it could be. Beautiful ambience, service, and delicious food.

Perfect sunset dining experience at the Grand Canyon
We had a 49th anniversary celebration dinner at the El Tovar, reserved at 4:30pm to watch sunset from the South Rim restaurant window. Service was outstanding and the food exquisite in taste and detail. We chose the leg of duck and elk steak. All do
Pretty views.
Decent breakfast options. Hot chocolate was a fun experience where the chocolate and whipper cream are already in the cup and you get the hot chocolate to pour it over, but it made it impossible to get the drink to be really warm after the cold sunri
El Tovar Lunch
The food was not good. It is overpriced and lacks flavor and quality. The atmosphere was good, the service was great. We really wanted to like the food after hearing so much about the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food does not live up to the hype.
El Tovar Lunch
My go to is the French Onion Soup whenever I dine at El Tovar. It is a special treat and the views are great from the dining room if you can get a table facing the canyon.
Surf and turf and pepper steak just right!!
Had a lovely meal at this special dining roomโworth the trouble of booking in advance! Everything was perfectly cooked! I didnโt care for the garlic butter for the bread or the seasoned melted butter for the lobster, but they brought me Olin butt

The facility states quality dining with a dress code, unfortunately they don't enforce it. Last night in the park I booked a special romantic dinner for my wife and I. The table next to ours had four people each in shorts, tee shirts and sneaker
We did get a window table.
Nice view, but other than window tables restaurant dark. Not particularly elegant overall. We ordered a spicy bloody mary, two french onion soups and a bowl of chili. The waitress brought all 3 dishes simultaneously. Apparently the notion that so

Breakfast was fantastic! Not pages of choices but enough to make me happy. Plus if you are lucky enough to sit next to the windows what a view! Had the huevos rancheros with a size of fruit. Portion was big and hot. One of our party ordered the Buffa
Wooded lodge dining room with upscale service.
They take reservations, even for lunch, but there was plenty of space for walk-in, even for Sunday lunch. The china was pretty cool (see coffee cup) and specific to the resort. I enjoyed a caesar salad with vegetarian chili. Each item alone was appet
The lobby and dining room are amazing.
..went for lunch. We were seated at the window looking out....WOW! We had delish elk bolognese and croquet Monsieur with butternut squash soup!!! Everything was excellent! Would definitely go again...not sure WHY this wonderful gem only had 3 stars.
my three visits to the dinning room at El Tovar
Food was expensive in comparison to other restaurants. Salads were a lot but watch out the salty taste of Ceasar salads. Very few choices of fish and do not order the lobster roll for it was cold and mixed with mayonnaise and can not taste the lobs
Nice atmosphere, food not so much
8 in our group all had $60 steaks. Temperature cooked was off for most, one got a diff steak than ordered. However, it was obvious the steaks were cheap cuts. $60 steak should be top notch, theirs were not
Setting wonderful, the server was excellent, food not so great!
The Lodge and the server met expectations for such an historic place. The New York Strip might as well been named the New Jersey Strip. One was over cooked and the both were tuff. The Chief must be a vegan, because he didnโt seem to concerned about
Good food but pricey
Nice views of the Grand Canyon from our table. Wait staff was attentive and pleasant. Food was ok. We had an over cooked elk dish and fillet moon which was good but not amazing. French onion soup was also good but nothing special. For the high pric

Beautiful historic dining room inside the El Tovar hotel.
You can see amazing craftsmanship while dining in this great room with amazing views of the Grand Canyon. Reservations recommended although we were able to get a table without one but it was a weekday. The southwestern shrimp cocktail was very good.
Exceptional dining experience!
My husband and I had 2 meals at the El Tovar, breakfast and dinner. Both were wonderful dining experiences! Everything from the attentive service, the food and drinks, the ambiance and of course, the view. Everything was top notch. If youโre visiti
Ambiance was great.
With Grand Canyon right outside, how could it not be? Service great. Food was subpar. I got the pasta pesto dish. Very processed with no flavor. Pretty sure it was dumped out of a box and heated poorly and tossed onto a plate.

First, I had requested a canyon view table in the dining room at 530 for our 82 yo father. Guess notes on reservations aren't considered since they put us 3 rows back. 30 feet away from the window could be considered a table with a view?! We

Good American food and great service
This place has very rustic and original detail, decorations. You feel like you belong at the Grand Canyon in this restaurant. The servers were very professional, kind and attentive. The place settings had real cloth, napkins sets, and coffee sets. We
Dirty, poor service, disgusting food
Restaurant and utensils were dirty. The odor was foul. Servers had no manners or training. The food seemed it was all frozen with no flavor. Kind of like hospital food. Restaurant is advertised as classy attire- definitely not the case.
โWhat we have here is failure to communicateโ
The first impression of any restaurant is their host/hostess, while you may hope your experience at their stand is personable; you should expect your situation is handled with attention, and professionalism. Unfortunately my experience lacked any of
Very nice restaurant
We dined here twice last week, and enjoyed both meals. I admit that Iโm a fan-boy of old, historic hotels & restaurants, and you canโt get much more historic than this place. The restaurant is beautiful (right on the South Rim). The service

Dinner in a noisy, outdated dark room.
Food was just ok. Totally overpriced. Better have dinner at the Bright Angel steakhouse next door, it is great!
The food was incredible and our waiter Robert was very kind.
The view of the canyon is amazing as well.
The hostess lied to us about why she would not seat us at an empty table next to a window overlooking the Grand Canyon
We had breakfast there in a nearly empty dining room on a Tuesday morning. Our party of two asked if we could sit at an empty table next to the window overlooking the Grand Canyon. We were told that table would be for a party of four who was about to

We saw a mouse running around the tables in the dining room. A waiter definitely saw it and said nothing. I ordered the fillet mignon, it was amazing. Two stars.
