This was an amazing fine dining experience.
Service was knowledgeable and kind. The flavor of all the dishes were incredible. At first we were worried that we would still be hungry due to the portions of food, but we both left full and satisfied. We also had the cocktail pairings which were also tasted great but boozy. While this experience is pricey, it was well worth every dollar from the quality of the ingredients to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Whether you are a Miami local or visiting on vacation, El Cielo should be strongly considered.
Be the first to ReplyEl Cielo accomplishes a lot in their 19+ course menu.
It's truly an experience like no other. They had me washing my hands with chocolate, eating dessert in a mist of dry ice and even licking a plate. It's whimsical and a bit wild, but there was never a dull dish. Each plate is a marvel to look at and quite thought provoking. I felt like a kid during Christmas morning waiting for each one to come. The lobster tacos were especially delicious. The servers were also very knowledgeable with excellent service and attention to details. They also explained each dish and answered any questions I had. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience something different and doesn't mind the hit on the wallet. Very well deserving of their Michelin star.

I think it's well worth the money for the experience alone, the place is absolutely beautiful. As someone who appreciates art, this is an exact moment where cuisine is elevated. All of the dishes are so well thought out and composed. The Tree of Life is something I wish I could eat every single day. What I loved about this place is that it feels like time is standing still. Everything is in accordance, it's all done for you. Service was quietly perfect. Compliments to the chef!
Be the first to ReplyThis is an amazing restaurant with an amazing staff.
I can't compliment them enough.. if you're in the Miami area I would highly recommend trying this restaurant. If you are like myself and don't want a 16 course menu I recommend sitting at the bar and trying some great food and wine.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant has a nice river view.
The food is very unique & upscale. The waiters and waitresses are very responsive to one's culinary satisfaction. I recommend this restaurant for especial occasions.
Be the first to ReplyMy first experience at El Cielo in Brickell was a great
My first experience at El Cielo in Brickell was a great one! My waiter Jorge was phenomenal, very attentive, very knowledgeable on every single dish & every drink as well. I had told him I was doing dry January and they made me the most spectacular Mocktails I think I've ever had in my whole life. Each one tasted exquisite, My favorites were the first and last that came from the "Bar Menu". in terms of food, my favorites were the crab empanadas, and the starter truffle bites with a additional caviar bite. That was really yummy. What I will say is that I was only disappointed with the dessert that came at the end. The texture was not my favorite, and it wasn't very flavorful for a dessert that had some fruits it could've been better. It wasn't impressive at all, and I think for lasting impressions the dessert should've been just as delicious as the food itself and the drinks. The ambience is beautiful, elegant yet contemporary, and I highly recommend for grabbing bites and happy hour with friends, and or celebrating an anniversary dinner or some thing special here.
Be the first to ReplyFrom the second we got to this restaurant it was a full out
From the second we got to this restaurant it was a full out disaster. I will section this entire s***show out into 3 parts. THE SERVICE: we called ahead and were denied a reservation until 9 pm so we just decided to head down. Completely empty restaurant. Our hungry party of four was seated at a cocktail table. The style of menu is pretentious to say the very least. After 2 begrudging hours of waiting for the next literal bite of food we'd had enough and told the waiter to either bring out the rest of our appetizers or just bring us the check. Mind you- we waited 2 HOURS for some breads and a cold caviar. The wait staff was rude and inattentive. The manager had told us that it takes 2 to 3 hours to have a meal at this restaurant. I assume he was just trying to cover himself because we had watched the dining room fill and empty twice. After we had fought to get the check, we checked the amounts on there and saw that they charged us for all of the food that we did not receive. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. THE FOOD: The waiter suggested we ordered 3 to 4 dishes per person. The plating is absolutely ridiculous. Tiny morsels of food coming out on gigantic plates with no rhyme or reason. The food seemed like an insult as well. As a foodie with a reformed palate I could not believe the garbage I was being served. It seemed as if the chef decided that enough was in fact not enough. "Onion and white chocolate? F*** it! The idiots will buy it!" not one single thing could be categorized as "good" or even "tasty" THE ATMOSPHERE: by far this is probably the biggest yikes. You walk into a hotel lobby past a nice restaurant that's completely empty into what looks like your grandmother's closet. Try eating crab empanadas underneath the bodies of its friends. The chandelier looks like it's about to literally eat you. The wall Art is disjointed the entire restaurant is a pretentious nightmare. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyEl Cielo and The Experience was a good experience for once
El Cielo and The Experience was a good experience for once in a lifetime. Food was ok, the service was good. The ambiance was good, place is nice with simple decoration. The experience is overrated and overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyAn incredibly fun and satisfying experience.
This is a sophisticated place with very innovative and truly original foods. Hard to describe. I had my doubts before going but they were more than erased. Not at all stuffy nor pretentious (which Michelin restaurants can sometimes be). They somehow achieved that impossible balance of effortless elegance and good ol' fun. Impeccable staff. Absolutely will return.
Be the first to ReplyEl Cielo was a fantastic experience.
We went to celebrate a special occasion (our Wedding Anniversary) and had an amazing time. We opted for the full menu experience, which consisted of an impressive 17-course meal. While the portions were small, they were so flavorful and well-prepared that we left feeling completely satisfied. The restaurant offers some truly exotic and delicious dishes. While it was a bit pricier than we anticipated, it's definitely worth considering for a memorable special occasion. Next time, I might skip the full menu and go for a different option.

Be the first to ReplyThis was my second time in El Cielo but truly my first time
This was my second time in El Cielo but truly my first time "experiencing" On my first visit, the restaurant had recently opened and we went for happy hour. We enjoyed it and noted a return for dinner would be nice but with the price tag it needed to be ultra special and it always got pushed to the backburner. Last night we finally went. We had a 7 PM reservation and we knew from the moment we arrived it was different. The way the staff moved and greeted and were extra-ordinarily attentive, the experience had started. While I wont go into detail as to not ruin anything, I will highlight that the service was phenomenal and so was the food. Yes, it can be gimmicky and like some people like to call it "too frilly" or "kitschy"...BUT that's okay. If the food is where it needs to be and the flavor pairings go, let the man be as creative as he wants to be; I'm here for it.We visited two of the World's 50 Best Restaurants in our travels to Peru and this experience reminded us of those restaurants and for all of the right reasons. Overall, we were very impressed and the experience was exceptional. Menu changes every 4-6 months so if you want to indulge twice a year; go for it. Make reservations. Dress to Impress...or don't; I looked kinda homely in comparison to the others. LOL The cons: There were times the music felt a little loud and we had trouble hearing the waiter story-tell the moment so some were kind of lost. This is silly of me to even bring up but because I like to document, photos, etc...Not a fan of light and glossy tables that create shadows. I love natural wood tables, dark and dynamic. That being said, I understand for cleaning purposes, light and glossy is probably the easiest....LOL (again; ignore my ridiculousness) their tables are fine!El Cielo was unique, delicious and NOT underwhelming. We were stuffed by the end and completely satisfied. While it may not be for everyone, it was perfect for us and an experience i would not mind repeating.
Be the first to ReplyA truly decadent experience.
You will leave stuffed and wanting more of specific courses at the same time. An amazing birthday experience. Chef is truly badass about accommodating food allergies for which I'm grateful!!! The GF selection within each entree was AMAZING. So many things I'd never tried before. Hands down a MUST try!!!! Is it pricey? YES. Is it worth it?? YES!! This is worth it!!

It was fun and interactive tasting menu. All the food was uniquely paired. An experience not worth missing.

Sad to say that El Cielo was a terrible experience in the end. Dinner was fun, but they charged us double for the experience. After paying the reservation deposit (the full cost of dinner), they did not subtract that deposit from the final bill. I have been in contact with them many times via email, phone call, and WhatsApp. Restaurant management acknowledges they made this mistake, but refuse to take any action to fix the problem. Beware El Cielo and their business practices.

Wow! This place is 10/10 This is not a regular restaurant, this is an experience! There is only 1 fix menu so be prepared to pay $218 (food/ per person) + $125 ( optional -wine pairings per person). Save this place for a special occasion because it will be a memorable experience. The menu is inspired in Colombian cuisine but with many unexpected flavors. Presentation is amazing and delicious! They combine all senses as part of the experience you get to taste, smell, look, and touch food in ways that will surprise you.

had a reservation for four made weeks ago to celebrate a birthday. the night before, the restaurant cancels it due to "renovations" (a silly excuse, as if people have surprise renovations pop up out of the blue). a shame--was looking forward to this. and with a Michelin star you think they would at least call to explain instead of an automated e-mail via Open Table.doubtful i'll spend the effort to go back. hopefully this doesn't apply to the rest of the miami starred restaurants. because this is, actually, a very typical miami thing to do. especially annoying given the very strict cancellation policies of restaurants like this ($100/person fee for changes, late cancellations, or no shows).
Be the first to ReplyReally disappointing experience.
We had reservations booked for 8PM dinner Saturday night. Completely excited to try this restaurant we got dressed didn't have much of a lunch. So we could fully enjoy the cuisine. When we arrived at the awkward lobby of a residential building. The valet person told us. The restaurant was closed! We were totally surprised! No one from this business had the decency to call or contact us. What a waste of a Saturday night. This was just awarded a Michelin Star? What a joke. More and more people are coming to realize Michelin Stars mean nothing these days. For those whom know how hard it is to book restaurants in Miami and allocate time effort this was awful. I thought this to be extremely rude and not concerned at all for customers.

Please can I give it more stars !!! This is hands down the best dining experience I had in a restaurant in US hands down. The service was magnificent , they really know what they are doing. But the real prize here is the grips and the presentation , you can't really beat this . Kermit up el Cielo !!!
Be the first to ReplyExperience was as expected for a Michelin restaurant.
Agree with other reviewers about the crab, chocolate, lamb. 5 stars. However, pricing. I advise others to clarify pricing while at the restaurant before dining. At the time we made reservations (late June 2022), the agreed price for the experience was $450. We enjoyed the evening, and the bill received was about $760. I asked for clarification. Waitstaff relayed to management. I didn't follow the explanation due in part to my inability to understand the accent. I shook my head, paid $760, and walked away. Will go to a different Michelin restaurant in future.

The first time i came here was in 2019 it was lovely and interactive. The food was great the experience was amazing. The attention was great! I probably spent $400 or so maybe less. Now to 2022 post pandemic.. i made a reservation for a birthday celebration. I was running late and literally rushed to the place everyone was really nice about it we sat down and the food started coming out. We decided to do the wine pairings and it was amazing! At some point someone came out to show us the lamb and how its cured using chocolate. There was crab shaped empanadas which we love! We were keeping track of the items coming out but towards the end they stopped coming and we were sat there for a while without finishing the menu. Someone finally came around after about 20mins and offered drinks. I realized they forgot the whole coffee/dessert experience.. I let them know and they sort of questioned me about it like they didn't believe me. At that point it had been over 3 hours so asked if i could just pay and leave but i guess when reminded they decided to go ahead and finish. So they did end up doing the coffee and desserts but at that point we were exhausted. I don't even think they really apologized for forgetting about us which really took away from the experience. Thats the reason why i decided to do 3 stars considering the price was over $900 for everything.
Be the first to ReplyFirst of all before and after making our reservation there
First of all before and after making our reservation there is no way to get in touch with this establishment. We needed to drive down from Fort Lauderdale in person to have questions answered about accommodating our party with children etc. I've been to original location 3 times in Medellin, had such a good experience, but here in Miami was very much below par. Food was ok, no wow factor for what it was supposed to be. Champagne to start a few amuse bouches from the kitchen all were good. We then started getting to the actual dishes and begining to have the wines paired with our food. The whites were a disappointment Arca Nova Vinho verde,Pighin Pinot grigio... Crab shaped arepa decent with pineapple salsa/chutney, but the crab mixture option wayyyyy too salty. A few other things like the bao bun lobster rolls filling was good the bao bun itself dry and hard. Duck was hard and chewy, lamb chop was also very average. Some of my descriptions may be off because unfortunately we were having a hard time hearing the waiter... All in all compared to my past experience at El Cielo in Colombia was not satisfied and that also goes compared to multitude of other places Michelin Star and non star restaurants. Really hope they turn this location around or perhaps it's just a Miami tourist trap.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great experience butttttttt lets get into it.
So first and foremost white glove SERVICE!! I LOVED IT!! The servers were very attentive to our needs and the restaurant was kind enough to modify the menu for my hubbys allergies. I would DEFINITELY make reservations ahead of time esp since they just got a Michellin star. The meal to me wasnt very filling more like a tasting menu but for the most part delicious. Bring a full wallet as this place will easily cost for 2 over 500$ not even joking!! However for a special occasion i would reccomend El Cielo over and over again.

Highlights:* A unique culinary, sensory experience* Molecular gastronomy inspired by Columbian cuisine* Just awarded a Michelin star in Miami* $200++ per person 22+ bites Experience Tasting Menu* Parking very difficult on weekends, consider Uber* Very few tables, book in advance, try for a weekdayI give El Cielo 5 stars for the "Show", food as entertainment and experience. But I think you really judge a restaurant on whether there were dishes that you crave and that you want to go back for. I gave El Cielo 4 stars because it lacked that. Overall it was an experience, like a Broadway show, with a bit of gimmickry, but for me, it's a one and done. I visited over a month ago and just got to writing my review as Michelin announced a Michelin star for the Miami outpost the other day. The Washington DC location had already received a star. It will be harder for you to get a reservation now. I believe there may be two 3 hour seatings per night.Expect creative presentations that may bring a smile to your face. I'm a clean finatic, so for me things like pouring liquid chocolate over your hands and asking you to rub them and lick them, uhhh, yuck. Others may have a ball. We visited on a Saturday night and the valet which is shared with an adjacent condo said there were no more spots available. A very large tip was required to find one.The wine list is a bit limited, and they were out of some bottles I asked for. Corkage is allowed for a fee, check if you have a cellar. For foodies who like a unique experience, like I said a "show", you may enjoy. Price sensitive diners who are picky about their food should pass.
