Lovely place.
Spent a few late hours here with some colleagues/friends at the end of an intense week and day of work, at the end of a trip. Great atmosphere. We were sat in a nice closed off part of the bar. I'm definitely heading back here when I visit NYC again.

a great spot with friendly service and an excellent selection of ales; good and very tasty menu options
Be the first to ReplySolid West Village bar, but extremely noisy
Fiddlesticks definitely has a college bar vibe, packed to the brim and blasting music at unnecessarily high volumes. That being said, it was still pretty enjoyable. The cocktails are pretty innovative and tasty, and the bar has a very energetic vibe. Donโt know when I would go back again, but itโs worth checking out once if youโre in the area.

We stepped in hoping to grab some beers and a bite to eat on a Saturday evening, maybe 6-6:30PM. After a longer-than-normal wait, someone finally asked for a drink order. Those came quickly, but nobody ever came back to ask if wanted another, or if we wanted food. We just handed a waiter money as we left (for two $11 beers). The place appeared to be understaffed, and while it looked like most of the staff were working their butts off, they didn't have time for us.
The VAST majority of the clientele were college females, an unusually high percentage that stood out to us. We are not (and were not) college-aged females. Many of those females were pretty clearly wasted. So my impression is that Fiddlesticks is a watering hole for NYU girls - generally not a place someone browsing tripadvisor would have any interest in.
Unbelievably bad.
I've never been treated so rudely as I was at this restaurant. I work hard for my money. When I go out, I would like to feel welcome and appreciated. Unfortunately, the people here treated me like garbage. The people that work here need a course in human relations.

This bar is so racist. Women of color and men avoid at all cost. The owner of the bar is ridiculously racist. She said I kicked security guard which is false. She single handly targeted me. After I paid for four drinks. Avoid at all cost. This is not worth your time.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly Irish Pub
To call this an Irish pub abroad rather puts it down as typical examples are usually ubiquitous chains.
Fiddlesticks had great pub grub and nice beer. We were able to sit outside which was very relaxing on a hot night. To top it all our excellent waitress Clare was even Irish!
Greasy spoon type of place with good staff
Ordered two of the wait staff's recommends - the portions were huge, ordered the philly cheese steak and pulled chicken sandwich. But looking at what the other tables ordered, breakfast items seemed like their go-to dish. A bit too greasy and too salty for my liking but enjoyed the local atmosphere. Came here for lunch from Storm King Art Center, it's a stone's throw away. Parking looked a bit tough but lucked out with a spot in front.

My husband and I were roaming the West Village as tourists, and we had plans to end up at the Village Vanguard. We ended finishing our sight-seeing in the neighborhood earlier than planned, and it was cold and freakishly windy. We needed a place to kill time before our concert at the VV, and we stumbled upon Fiddlesticks. Oh, it was exactly what we were looking for, a casual place to warm up, have some beers, and kill some time. The bartender was amazingly friendly to us, and when he realized that we had time to kill but also didn't want to get blotto before our concert, he gave us plenty of water and also a free order of french fries, and those french fries were REALLY delicious. Also, after a couple of days hanging in midtown, we were SO happily surprised by the affordable drink prices that were offered during happy hour. I was so pleased by our experience, that I actually ended up contacting the bar directly to let them know how great it was. I recommend this place highly!

I got there about 12AM. Was starving . It was crowded with lots of party people. I found the kitchen and ask if they are still cooking. I was in luck and they showed me thru a secret door to an area all fixed up for eating. So I told my friends Iโm in the back eating and come and eat some
Of my food. One hamburger and fries fed three of us. We had some drinks and had a great time dancing about and being funny and having fun. I want to return soon I hope
