Not the best service or food, but it is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a fun neon light situation for group pics. We were a larger party of 12, but we had a reservation so the restaurant was aware we were coming. Our waitress took our drink orders, beers, their margarita drink special, and waters. It took 20 minutes for her to come back with our drinks and we were one of only a few parties in the restaurant. We ordered food, and when it came out it was terrible. Many of us ordered the steak and all of our steaks came out well to extra well done. The waitress didn't come back to the table until most of our group had finished eating. We sent one of the untouched steaks back and now that everyone else was done eating they didn't want to order again. We were provided with dessert, but the didn't take the steak off the bill!! She never ate it! The manager came out and said that the price of the desserts was equal to the steak.... What?! We thought he was comping the desert and taking the uneaten meal off the bill. With all the other choices downtown don't waste your meal here.
Be the first to ReplyCame in before a concert and we had tacos and tater tots.
Food was good and the service was good. Would come back.
Be the first to ReplyWe had reservations for the Tipsy Flamingo for over a week
We had reservations for the Tipsy Flamingo for over a week for 7 people at 6:00. At 5:00 we got a call they were cancelling our reservation. I was on the freeway on my way from Utah County. How are we supposed to find another place in downtown SLC during March Madness for 6:00 for 7 people and it's 5:00. This was my birthday girls night out. Super unprofessional. They offered to get us in at 9:15. That is NOT a logical optition.
Be the first to ReplyGreat venue and atmosphere.
However, I'm not kidding when I say it's the slowest service in the entire Salt Lake Valley. It took 50 min to get our drinks. Food was good, but the slow service over shadows it all.

Pro Tip: Eat/drink at Flankers before the Jazz games! It seems like most of the restaurants in the area are packed before games, but Flanker Kitchen and Sporting Club is perfectly nestled out of the way so it remains uncrowded. Is it the best bar food I've ever had? No. Is it a decent option in the area? Absolutely. It really does have the potential to be something stupendous but it just hasn't caught on quite yet. I've seen photos of the epic brunch menu, so I know I'll be back at some point for that.
Be the first to ReplyI just really think this place has potential.
The location is on the far north side of Gateway. We came before an early Sunday jazz game. It was not busy at all. That being said the service was quite slow. It looks to be a great space.

Don't recommend terrible service waited 25 minutes between starter and entree order. To be asked still waiting on entrees. We never ordered any because she never came to our table
Be the first to ReplyFun spot for food and drinks.
It's never too busy which is nice. The club area can be fun if you bring a group of friends with you. The best part though is the parlor, especially during the holidays. They decorate like crazy and offer a bunch of seasonal items. You have to check it out during Halloween/Christmas!
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance for the football game was great.
Service was friendly and attentive considering how busy they were. Food was okay. We just had the wings and my husband had one of their sandwiches. He enjoyed his sandwich but I was a fan of the wings. Too much breading which I think took away from the crispiness. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would return to watch football.

We are from Chicago visiting nephew and have to say this place is top notch! Came in a super busy night to watch the NFL playoff game and couldn't be happier. Every staff member was helpful, KIND and efficient! We asked to love our table 3 times and they were absolutely fine with that. Of course we got there early but still they were more than happy to accommodate us. Throughout the evening our experience was fantastic and we could not have asked for better. Great place!!! Amazing selection of brews and good food as well! We will be back again!

Came to flankers with some friends and we had an amazing waitress kristan, she kept checking In on us and was very prompt with our drinks we didn't wait long for anything. She made our experience so fun. I'll be definitely coming back.
Be the first to ReplyWent there on a Saturday.
It was not as busy as I thought it would be, but the weather was also terrible outside. I didn't really explore the drink menu, but it seemed like they had a ton of options. I had fish and chips - they were good and came with a tasty dipping sauce for the fries. My favorites part was the wings, great flavor and the presentation was cool. They bring them out with a little stove that you can crisp up the wings if you want.
Be the first to ReplyFirst night at Flankers for our family dinner.
The service was awesome security guard was very professional, as well as the servers. The quality of food was on point. Definitely recommend this place for family outing.
Be the first to ReplyThe food took over 50 minutes to come out.
It's the responsibility of the managers to make sure the establishment is well staffed, but unfortunately the waitresses have to pay the price for the mismanagement. The steak and eggs brunch item was overpriced at $21 for only three pieces of chewy steak. Don't get me started on the waffles.
Be the first to ReplyWorst place to celebrate a birthday at:1.
Sadie their party planner does not give all very important information you should know upfront. Paid $15 extra dollars for a LED birthday sign and it was never done. 2. They only can do one form of payment for your party. Let anyone order and put in your tab not knowing if they are from your party or not. Give you an itemized check and expect you to figure out who ordered what. 3. cocktail waitress Hanna would bring drinks out but just put them on the table and you have to guess what kind of drink it is and serve them to your own guest. 3. Food servers would bring food out and wouldn't tell anyone what the food was. You have to call them out and serve them to your guest. 4. Asked for a manager but there wasn't anyone there at the time. When called back on Monday to ask to speak to the general manager was told she would call me back. It is now Wednesday and no one has called me back. 5. When requesting for a song from the DJ he would tell you to buy him a shot then never play the song you asked for. Overall a horrible experience. If you want to be a cocktail waitress and a food server at your own party then this is the place to Have your party at. Didn't get to enjoy my party because I was too busy working for Flanker picking up the slack were their people lacked. Even with the crappy/lack of service they still add 20% gratuity, even though we did the work.
Be the first to ReplyWe came to Flanker for dinner.
All I can say is everything here is okay. Great atmosphere & energy but you can get better service & food elsewhere. Once we were seated it took a waitress 15 minutes to greet us...I kept making eye contact with her and not once did she even come up to say "I'll be right with you". We tried to order a bottle of Veuve but she had no clue what we were talking about (it was on the menu) and she ended up down selling us a bottle. We ordered chips & guac to start... somehow our entrees beat our appetizers. What is so hard about chips & guac? It was obviously forgotten about. The manager (I assume) dropped off our food & I made a comment about food beating our chips & guac. He gave me attitude about it. I wasn't trying to make a big deal about it. I've been here a few times now & I can honestly say this play is underwhelming.
Be the first to ReplyMy experience at Flanker was nothing short of a disaster.
DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANY HOLIDAY. Despite the crowd, the service was slow and inattentive. We had to wait 40min for a server to even come ask for a drink order, by that time we gave up and tracked one down ourselves. When we we're able to place an order for the drinks, we waited ANOTHER 30min with no checkup from the server. We ended up canceling the order with the host at the front. The entire staff seemed disinterested in helping us, and they weren't able to offer any suggestions or recommendations for food or drinks. Incredibly understaffed for any crowd they allow in.Overall, the experience was frustrating and not worth the time or money. If you're looking for a good time with good music, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Stopped in for a drink and a meal before the game and I wasn't disappointed. Overall the food was excellent (the All American burger is delicious). I thought the service was good too, and I could see this place being great for a date night or something.
Be the first to ReplyOur group cane here to watch the NFL playoff games.
There are screens everywhere including some monster size ones. The food was good and the drinks were great. The service was five star and the place was clean.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was pretty good! The atmosphere was super fun.
We had a reservation which they somehow didn't have enough space so they sat us in a lounge area (we had a group of 8) and then we're told we couldn't sit there unless we were willing to spend $1000. So we had to move and got seated at a 6 top by the doors that were kept open so our food was cold and so were we. It was just an ok experience. We went to see a show there and they had sold so many tickets it was so packed that you could barely move. It made the show almost unbearable because of the small amount of space there was. People who had bought tables were letting people stand in their area because there wasn't enough room only to be told they can't do that so people had to shove their way back into the tiny space. So all in all it was just ok. I was really hoping it would be better but we probably won't see a show there again unfortunately.
Be the first to ReplyIt pains me to write this review because this establishment
It pains me to write this review because this establishment has been promoted well but there was not one positive experience. First, my son made us a reservation at 6:00 pm to ensure we had a committed table. It was on a Wednesday evening. We felt two hours would give us more than enough time (especially with a reservation) to be seated and served before our event. We were seated around 6:10 pm. Our server did not acknowledge us until almost 6:30 where she said she would be back to get our order. At 6:40 pm she finally came to take our drink order. Due to time, we placed our food order as well. There were other tables around us dealing with the same situation. At 7:10 pm we still had not received at least our drinks and it was impossible to track our server down. We left at 7:15 without ever having contact with our server. I stopped at the front desk and asked to speak to the manager who was at the desk but she did not want to be bothered. There was a gentleman representing her and when I voiced my concerns, he was non-apologetic about the situation.

Went to flanker the other day and it was a blast! The brunch for the Culture was awesome! The lights and music really created an awesome vibe for the night. I talked to the event organizer Talya, she was so cool and did an awesome job with the night! She said we had Nico to thank for the music and lights, I'm def coming the next time they're there!
Be the first to ReplySlow, out of the first 4 beers.
Took 40 minutes to get a beer, an hour fur the special. Fish tacos were tiny. The rest of the menu is $$$$.
