Street parking here is a pain but worth it. It’s San Diego so dress code is pretty casual and laid back. We made reservations for 8 and ordered 7 sharable plates and just drank a lot. None of us got an entree and the bill came out to be almost $500. Pretty steep for the wallet but delicious food and we were still hungry afterwards..lol. We ordered: Fairlane ($14) - gin and Prosecco with lemon grapefruit and elderflower. Sour and refreshing. Roadmaster ($15) - old fashion Stingray ($15) - blanco tequila, not as sweet or refreshing as I liked compared to Fairlane. For food we got: -Sourdough bread ($9) - bread was so soft with pacific sea salt cultured butter. Great starter when you’re hungry. -Little gem salad ($17) - the whipped feta was everything! Hazelnuts, raisins, everything spice, sumac ranch. This salad was so refreshing and light. Even the guys who don’t normally eat greens loved it. -Squid ink bucatini ($27) - my favorite, it’s tuna belly puttanesca (from the word whore, google it!), crispy garlic but a bit salty. -Broiled oysters ($23) - cooked oysters with espelette butter, bacon and lemon. So delicious. I wanted more. -Steamed clams and mussels ($21) - salty with Spanish chorizo, white wine, herb butter, grilled bread. -Nectarine and Persian cucumbers salad ($18) - the guys loved the gem salad so much and wanted to try this. Not as good but still refreshing. The falafel and green tehina sauce. -Chicken fried quail ($23) - corn bread, red beans, red eye gravy, dates, sweet and spicy. The entire food experience was amazing. If you don’t mind the price, this is great place for drinks because they don’t cheap out on the alcohol and the food is just scrumptious.
