Outstanding tastes, views complemented with a little bit of Thomas
Our experience last night celebrating my son’s 18th birthday was turned into an absolutely unforgettable experience through the professional, engaging attention of one particular young man at Galvin at Windows,…. Thomas! Don’t get me wrong, all the staff there were absolutely brilliant, but in my opinion Thomas went above and beyond with his friendly, professional approach and later by taking us out into the kitchen to see where the magic happens. Somebody give this gentleman a promotion! Our initial greeting by the three ladies out front was lovely. Unfortunately I did not find out the name of a senior staff member that also went above and beyond to help try and accommodate this Australian’s unusual drink request, because he too deserves acknowledgment and accolades. Now for the meal. Presentation was absolutely on point with very complimentary and subtle flavour combinations that were a joy to experience. The crab entree was delicate and flavoursome, but its adornment of edible flowers in a perfectly baked light shell almost had you hesitate in ruining this artwork with a fork. My asparagus entree was prepared meticulously. Absolutely loved this dish. The combination of perfectly cooked asparagus with coddled egg and King Peter ham and whatever they put into the deliciously light sauce, which was applied in exactly the right quantity, can not be understated. The artichoke soup with Gruyère brioche and truffles was enjoyed by my 18yo son. Rich, smooth and creamy,… not over powering. Congratulations on a job well done to whomever was responsible for preparing this dish. My main course was the Sea Bass with hot & sour prawn liquor. Yum! Yum! Yum! I recommend this be accompanied with a side of their delicious spring greens with a chilli & sesame dressing. My only complaint here is that this was so good that I wished I had room to accommodate another serving. My wife had the salt baked celeriac, hen of the woods with a roasted yeast sauce. I must admit this dish was amazing but had us laughing when we discovered fowl play. The secret to this dish is that there is no fowl! The hen of the woods is a delicate, delicious mushroom. Compliments to the Chef and all his staff for putting together such a well planned and perfectly executed gastronomical adventure. Also thank you Chef for being so friendly and accommodating in allowing Thomas to bring us through to see you all working your magic, whilst never skipping a beat in such a busy, high pressure, exacting environment. It was an experience that none of us will every forget. I think you might’ve set my 10 year old on a career path! Before I forget, the genius of such a quality establishment accommodating children with a seperate menu cannot be ignored. Well done. Everything was completely in line with expectations of a quality establishment of this caliber,…. but Thomas sprinkled just that little added extra bit of star dust over our evening. Thank you Thomas. We wish you all the very best success in wherever life leads you.
Be the first to ReplyProperly good food and great service (and some views, of course)
A really wonderful lunch, to celebrate our anniversary, made exceptional by properly good food and even more so the incredible and genuine-feeling warmth of the staff - every one of whom effortlessly managed the perfect balance of charm and professionalism without any sense of intrusion. Unexpectedly - and pleasantly - relaxed for this sort of place, there's a very unpretentious atmosphere. People come partly for the view, I guess, and it was a nice touch when the maitre d' offered to re-seat us on the other side of the restaurant, at the window, with a nicer view - completely un-prompted by us, but much appreciated. Food was very good - a comforting and robust sole Grenobloise in my case, followed by a superb tarte tatin. Wine pairings recommended by the Italian lady sommelier were just about perfect. It's not cheap, of course, our main courses alone being the wrong side of £50 each (not unusual for London these days). If I were looking for any real negatives; well, it's located in the Hilton Park Lane, which is what it is, and that extends to the restaurant's lift lobby area, where a letter from the restaurant's name has gone missing and apparently couldn't be replaced in the same typeface... Inside, the room design isn't great and looks a little tired, with slightly scruffy furniture. Not to worry; the focus of attention for most will be the view, and - to a greater extent - your dining companion, good food and perfect service.
Be the first to ReplyGalvin at Windows is Dishonourable
Booking was made in January two months in advance. At time of booking was made clear this was for a 50th birthday, even though it coincided with Mothers Day. Galvin at Windows were happy to accept the booking. After a month, Galvin at Windows, made contact to say that because it was Mothers Day they would be charging an extra £20 per head for a special menu (even though from the information made available it was just the normal menu) plus an additional £20 per head on top for the previously accepted window seat booking. At a simple level that's simple price gouging, which unfortunately might be expected from some lower class London restaurants for special occasion dates. But having accepted the original booking it's just unacceptable and dishonourable behaviour for a supposed fine dining restaurant.

What a fabulous evening and a wonderful way to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Food was amazing and the service was second to none. Alot of other restaurants could learn from Galvin at Windows. Have already recommended to friends. Will definately book again.

Giovanni and Michaela were excellent Thank you so much for looking after us so well. It made such a difference to have a good service - the food was excellent and well presented. Please commend the above members of staff that are mentioned. Thank you.
Be the first to ReplyAn amazing night celebrating the wedding of Kristine and Ian, thank you!
What an exceptional evening. We were in to celebrate our friends wedding, and were served initially canapé in the bar. Along with a lot of champagne it has to be said. Then, a seven course tasting menu paired with wine, which was truly a culinary eating experience beyond anything i have been privileged to experience previously. I’m a seasoned international traveller and foodie, this was one beyond anything before. Thank you to the chef team for the food, but even more to the front of house team for looking after me and my wife so well. I’m sorry I didn’t get names, but to be honest I spoke of interacted with several staff members and everyone was smiling, polite, attentive and could help. Overall five stars simply isn’t enough
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience
Thomas the waiter and Roberta the best Coffee Maestro and manager and all the environmental management asweel including the fabulously atmospheric restaurants to enjoy a special and professional treatment for your loves one and family… strongly recommend this place!

Just fantastic. We had the taster menu and despite some of the large group having special dietary requirements they made this work. They adapted each course perfectly so we could enjoy the same as our colleagues. Service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNice place and service but poor cooking
A comfortable restaurant a calm ambiance and nice views over Hyde Park. Attentive service .Sadly the cooking is disappointing and not Michelin Star level .Often dishes arrived too cold and were overcomplicated with a series of unpleasant sources or jus destroying any flavour of the produce. I was eating solo on this trip and had 3 courses plus a modest bottle of red wine priced at 80 GBP and still walked out with a bill for 220 GBP . Fortunately next night I had a far superior meal at The Atelier Joel Robuchon on Clarges St. for less money.

Had five course tasting menu. Great food and wine. Amazing view. Friendly staff. Lovely experience. Highly recommended.

We chose to eat here for our annual Employee Away Day and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the wine list extensive and the service impeccable. Enrico was very attentive and charming. He looked after our dietary requirements with no fuss and made us feel completely comfortable. The sommelier was knowledgeable and we had great conversation with her, even allowing us to add to the dessert wine list! The food itself was delicious - even the dairy/soya free was tasty and presented well. All topped off with cocktails on the bar. For a Tuesday night, we were very impressed. Well worth a visit.

Be the first to ReplyA little disappointed
We have just had a meal at galvins at windows with our friends and were a little disappointed with our overall experience. We had booked a 3 course meal with half a bottle of wine per couple for £58 however this was not on the menu we were given and the server did not know about the offer so had to speak to a colleague who offered us either a bottle of red or a bottle of white rather than asking if we would prefer a half bottle of red and a half bottle of white . The food was a good standard and presented well, however when you are paying £58 for a three course meal it is very annoying to have to pay £8 extra for any extras eg a tiny portion of veg or mashed potato !!!!! On our last two occasions we dined at windows Fred Sirieix was the Maitre d and he would always make a point of speaking with all his guests , we didn’t meet the maitre d on this occasion until we were leaving and he apologised that he didn’t have the time to come and speak with us which I find very disappointing. On previous visits, at the end of the meal we were given a jar of marshmallows with the bill , when we asked why they had been stopped our server Livia explained that it was due to COVID which I completely understand however an individually wrapped chocolate or mint would have been a lovely touch at the end of the meal . Another lovely extra they used to offer was a postcard to complete and they would send, but yet another nicety which has been dropped! Come on Galvins, you you could do a lot lot better for what you’re charging and maybe employ some staff who are more people friendly!

This restaurant rates itself so highly that there is a cancellation charge of £25 per person. Imagine our shock therefore when we arrived on a cold wet day for lunch to find that the hotel is being renovated. The entrance was most unimpressive, but worse was to come. The heating had broken down and we had to sit with cold air coming from the ventilation. A miserable experience, which the engineers were unable to fix in time. No discount was offered in compensation. Altogether a ruined day.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch in a fabulous scenic venue and great service
We had a special birthday celebration lunch here on a Saturday and it was a lovely venue for a celebration. We started with a bottle of champagne in the Sky Bar adjacent to the restaurant and then had a great table overlooking Green Park and Buckingham Palace. We opted for the menu of the day which whilst limited to 3 options per course, was good value for such a highly rated restaurant and we all found something we liked. One little hiccup with the service but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently and after this the team could not do enough to rectify this. Great team work, lead by Andreas, super wine selection and lovely relaxed and casual ambience but in a stylish venue.

This monday my girlfriend and me organized a dinner experience for our short holiday in London and despite the important influx of guests everything was impeccable. For the location, everyone can only be enraptured both by the structure of the restaurant and by the breathtaking panorama offers to guests. Congratulations to all the staff, the engine of this reality. Attentive and warm welcome, from the courses created and elaborated by the kitchen staff to their service by the dining room team everything excellent. Manager Enrico (the number 10 who everyone would like to have), delighted us with his professionalism and cordiality, he recommended us excellent courses sensationally combined with wines by sommelier Giuseppe... all orchestrated by the direction of the manager Antonino. Really excited to share our experience, to have to try to achieve. Soon

Booked this amazing restaurant for my birthday after seeing the excellent Trip Advisor reviews. We were not staying at the Hilton but the restaurant is open to non-residents, go to the lift bank in the main reception of the hotel and select the restaurant. We decided to eat food from the set menu, which was exceptional value at £42 for 3 courses. You are also presented with canapés and delicious fresh soda bread. We were served by the very attentive Andrea K and Tomas, who were very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Starters: Devon white chicken & leek terrine, truffle & hazelnut dressing and house cured var salmon with pickled vegetable (carrot & brocoli) Mains: Hake with clams and smoked buttermilk and deica pumpkin risotto and toasted seeds (I chose not to have the blue cheese crumbled on top as I don't eat blue cheese) We also had sides of pommel purse and cauliflower cheese (the best we've both ever tasted of each) Dessert: chocolate choux bun with banana custard filling and salted caramel I would highly recommend this restaurant - the service, the food and the views were all amazing (we dined at night so had the London skyline in the dark) Apologies if I've not mentioned all staff who looked after us, but you all did a great job

Dining with my son. Reliving memories. We took the 7 corses tasting menu. It was absolute delicious. The excellent pairing wine choice by @Rudina Arapi really topped it off. We've had an absolute great evening. Thanks again!

A perfect Sunday lunch. Thanks to all the staff, especially Thomas and the manager Enrico for excellent service and a memorable afternoon.
Be the first to ReplyGood but not in line with other top restaurants.
I ate here with my wife on Saturday night and the Restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is quite good. I would have preferred perhaps to have a dedicated waiter as a number of our requests and suggestions needed to be duplicated when others approached too. The bread and Arancini balls they provide at the beginning were really very nice and moreish! My wife had the salmon to start which was definitely over smoked, i had the Venison tartare which i didnt like, it was all too rich and needed more of a pickled element - also lacked seasoning. For mains we both had the Wellington which tasted very good, only gripe with this was it wasnt very warm, its cut from a Wellington which has previously been served to others and got cold. Cauliflower cheese and the Chilli greens were both very nice but the Mash was a bit sloppy. Dessert was good.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect mid-week lunch!
We enjoyed superb 3 course mid-week lunch including wine. Couldn't fault it in any way - absolutely delicious food! Excellent service as always! A pleasure to be back! See you soon! Kevin and Richard
Be the first to ReplyIncredible birthday!
We visited for a double birthday for my dad and me. Service from Ricardo and Andrea was faultless, the food was incredible and combined with some incredible wine suggestions, led to a much enjoyed lunch. The views take this place from a 9/10 to a 10/10 if not higher. Will be repeated for sure! Thank you everyone!!!

My partner and I enjoyed a few champagne cocktails in Windows bar next door first then onto dinner at Galvin at Windows. Our experience was wonderful. Our table was situated just a row opposite the main front windows. It would have been nice to have had a front row table but I guess these were booked well in advance and to be honest our table was just perfect. We went straight for the main dinner . Beef wellington to share. We were advised 45 mins to an hour cooking time. This was fine as we were enjoying our drinks and talking at our table with some lovely bread. Main of beef wellington was superb. Cooked to perfection and the best we’ve had. The staff were very attentive professional and looked after us all night. Our 2015 Pomerol went very well and would highly recommend this wine. It was our anniversary and we would 100% return. Thank you so much for an amazing evening.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for an anniversary dinner
The last time we had been here was in the middle of a massive snowstorm on an evening when almost every other table had bailed out and we were treated wonderfully, we assumed because we were about the only guests left. This time the place was packed and we were treated...wonderfully. So either it's something about us or, more likely, it's something about the team at Galvin @ Windows. We went for dinner on our wedding anniversary and had the no-choice Taste of Summer menu (4 courses for £49). Canapes were tiny parmesan doughnuts and smoked salmon cigars. Highly-flavoured cured salmon came with cauliflower, horseradish, caviar and a ponzu dressing. The excellent lamb course came as a cake of shredded shoulder and slices of loin, both tasty and tender, with celeriac two ways and a laverbread gravy. Strawberries and verbana came with strawberry sorbet and olive oil cake. Everything was light, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. We drank a glass of champagne and a glass of an 'orange' wine from Puglia, then a Pio Cesare Dolcetto that went with both the salmon and the lamb, and finally Pio Cesare Moscato (on the house) with the strawberries. Service was excellent throughout, from the lady running the cloakroom to the General Manager. Particularly good wine service came from Davide, a sommelier I was astonished to learn had only joined the day before - the knowledge of the list he had gained in 36 hours was impressive. A lovely place. The only flaw was an obnoxious and overserved guest holding forth at the top of his voice to a rather embarrassed table of his subordinates, but that was hardly the staff's fault and they quietly moved one or two tables (including ours) to get people away from him.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food and service
We came here for a stay for our anniversary and were looked after by all the staff so well. They were all very attentive and helpful, especially Enrico & Arianna. Food was fantastic. We had the veal & scallops to start. Both lovely. Both had the steak for main, perfectly cooked. Finished with the playful solero and tarte tartin. Although we definitely had a little bit of food envy when we saw that beef Wellington come out to a nearby table. Definitely a return visit needed to sample that.
