I came here just to try the whole tandoori pomfret, and I was not disappointed! So good. Their appetizers I tried with my party were delicious as well. Definitely a trendy restaurant, with great Indian food, but a smaller menu choice than the typical Indian restaurant.

My friends and I met up here for dinner after I had seen numerous Tiktoks about the lemon chicken and the biryani. Modern Indian food? I'm pretty much always down for that. We started out with the gobi Manchurian, which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. The cauliflower were perfectly fried and stayed super crispy even after sitting on the plate for most of the night. The sauce was nicely balanced as well. I couldn't stop eating this one. We also got the kori sukka, which was a tasty spiced fried chicken dish. It was a bit too salty for me and the chicken a little dry, but we still enjoyed it overall. The main courses were what ended up being a letdown. The famous Kasauli lemon chicken had a nice lemon flavor (though I think I prefer a less sour curry), but the chicken was so dry and overcooked. The lamb in the parsi lamb salli boti suffered from the same issue, and the gravy was pretty mediocre. I've had much better. Finally, the Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani came with a dramatic presentation (a lid that the waiter cuts off at the table for you), but had a flavor that I found totally off-putting. I'm not sure what spice or herb was inside, but I couldn't eat more than a bite of it. It's always a bad sign when no one in your party really wants to bring home any of the leftovers, and this is what happened here. Prices are higher here than what you would expect from your neighborhood Indian joint. However, the restaurant itself is lacking in the vibes and ambience that you would expect from a restaurant at that price point. Despite putting some trendy decorations inside, the tables and chairs are uncomfortable and feel cheap. For the price, the quality of the food isn't up to par either. It's going to be a pass for me.

The curries were amazing. Unique and simply delicious!

As for service and vibe, I would give it an average review however the food was tasty and portion size was appropriate. Overall, would not go back but not a bad option for a quick bite.
Be the first to ReplyNot your typical traditional Indian restaurant.
The food here is very unique and creative. We started with the Bokchoy Chaat. I'm a big fan of Samosa Chaat and not a fan of adding more vegetables to an item I already like, but I thought the chaat was really good. Somehow, the bokchoy, the pomegranate and the chutney mixed together created an amazing flavor profile. We also had the Chipotle Chicken Tikka. I thought it was good, but not a must-have dish. We shared the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani. At first, we thought the portion wouldn't be big enough to share, but it was perfect for two. And it tasted excellent. It was a little on the spicy side, but I couldn't stop eating it. For dessert, we ordered both desserts that the restaurant carries; the Gulab Jamun Creme Brulee and the Lychee Firni. Both were amazing!! I would come back to the restaurant just to have dessert again! I never thought that a gulab jamun stuck inside creme brulee would go together, but it totally works! And who would think to put lychee pieces in firni? I loved both and you can't go wrong with either.
Be the first to ReplyHave been wanting to try this place for a while.
A bit tiny so def make a reservation to ensure you get a spot. pani puri -very yummy wish the portion was a little bigger bokchoy chaat - 5/5 the best dish for me saag paneer and chicken tikka masala - both of these dishes were very good but between 4 people i thought 2 entrees would be enough to share. however the portions were pretty tiny meaning we were still a little hungry after our meal. garlic naan - with four people they recommended 2 orders and they explained one order was 4 "tiny" pieces. when the 2 orders arrived it was an excessive amount so think the one would have been plenty mango lassi - a highlight to the meal probably wouldn't be back based off the price to food ratio to be honest but the flavor and quality of the dishes was definitely there
Be the first to ReplyA cute, small cozy spot with cute painting and wall decor.
I was surprised to see the size of the restaurant as I pictured it to be bigger. Nevertheless, waiter was very attentive given he was the only waiter there but still managed to take timely orders and refill our water. Food was good and had unique twists to it; my favorite for sure was the Szechuan chicken wings. The place had chill vibes with Indian music playing in the background. I will definitely return to try other items from the menu. One of the best Indian spot I've been to in a while!

I love the food, especially the Tandoori Chicken Gravy with rice! Spice Level felt like Medium, and it was very good! Service was so good, 10/10!!!!! Ambiance was so good from outside, and very good wall arts!!!!! Gazab deserves a 10/10!!!!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyLoved the ambience of this place.
The food was good but definitely did not exceed my expectations based on the reviews I read prior Creative but did not fully deliver on the flavors Puchka was super super sour

Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but this hole-in-the-wall place is probably the best place I've been that does unique twists on Indian food right. You can find your staples within the menu, but where this place earns its five stars is the creativity with presentation and the delicious flavors of each dish. My personal favorite was the bok choy chaat - that is such an amazing idea to add a neutral flavored crunchy vegetable to chaat to make it that much more crispy, elevating the chutney flavors. SO good. Additionally, the flaming lime is always a nice touch, and it's the first time I've seen it placed in the dish itself. I'm a vegetarian, so I'd say my favorites were the chaat, gobi manchurian, and the saag paneer. Another must-try would be the creme brulee gulab jamun - it's as if they knew my two favorite desserts and decided to combine them. Heaven!! If you're in the area, I highly HIGHLY recommend you try it and I would definitely come back again!!!Extra points go to the staff who were so gracious with us - we were a big party and they accommodated our gigantic order and all our requests. Thanks so much!!

My family and I recently dined at Gazab and it was a fantastic experience. The best part? We were able to make a reservation and skip the long lines. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly and provided wonderful recommendations for our meal. We ordered the lemon chicken, gobi munchurian, chicken tikki masala, and chicken biryani, and let me tell you, all of the dishes were incredible. The gobi munchurian was hands-down the best appetizer we've ever had; light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The lemon chicken was a surprise hit with its tangy and flavorful sauce. The chicken biryani was my favorite dish; the rice was flavorful and light while the chicken was moist and savory. And let's not forget the classic chicken tikki masala, which was generously portioned and had the perfect balance of spice, cream, tomato, and savory flavors. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and I would go back every day if I could.

The incredibly positive reviews caused us to eat here the other day.The small restaurant has a sweet, intimate atmosphere, and the service was fine. The food, however, was not Indian, in our view. The only dish we really liked was the plain naan bread. The appetizers and main dishes were inventive but with strange, often off-putting spices. This was particularly true for the pineapple dish. I took one bite and had to stop. The shrimp appetizer was too intensely spiced, and the panner was interesting but not delicious. We have a long history with Indian restaurants both in India and the U.S., so we were hoping to have some really scrumptious Indian- even nouveau-Indian food. Oh well....
Be the first to ReplyI've had plenty of Indian restaurants in New York City but
I've had plenty of Indian restaurants in New York City but none can compete nor compare to Gazab! Thank you for being in the neighborhood!! The paneer here has really changed my life. So soft and it's homemade paneer!! I've only had the tofu firm ones that have been served at 90% of Indian restaurants in nyc but this one is the real deal. oh boy oh boy the paneer Tika masala is literally to die for!! Not only the paneer is fantastic but the gravy!! Oh boy oh boy! Their chefs are so generous on the portion of gravy and I am so grateful!! It's fantastic!! Garlic naan is great warmed up on the stove and toasted up! Love it!! The dine in experience is just as amazing as their delivery.

One of the best feelings in the world is finding a new restaurant and all of the food you order is delicious. I am here to tell you that this place will make you feel like this because this restaurant has some gooood food. I came here on Sunday with a reservation at 1 with a group of 5 and while the place is super small if you come around this time or earlier it's not so packed! I'd definitely recommend ordering plates of different dishes and sharing because every dish we ordered was tasty. Favorite dish had to be the chicken tikka masala and just dipping that garlic naan in the sauce (oooof). Great flavors and presentation was gorgeous. I'd definitely come back!

By the number of people that have recommended Gazab to me I really thought this would be a large establishment and was really surprised to see the small interior. Wish everything was a bit spicier but there were other flavors so it's okBok choy chaat - very unique so try it but it is deep fried bok choy with saucesPani puri - cute presentation but not a must getChicken wings (not pictured) - bursting with flavor and we enjoyedChicken biryani (half eaten in picture) - pretty good
Be the first to ReplyWhat a wonderful hole in wall type of place.
Tiny and very closely placed tables but def a dive kind of vibe. The food is what is the best about the place. We were on our annual foodcation from boston to NY and this was last night when we went to GazabWe started with Tandoori pineapple or grilled poneapple whatever its called it amazing . Quesa fresca cheese topped the pineapply with spices sprinkled over it that had fennel in it.For mains we got Lemon chicken their speciality and pahadi soya chaap along with naan. Pahadi chaap was good nit great but chicken was really good and naan were nice and warm.Prices are def NY prices vut the food taste and quality makes it better and def worth a visit as the best indian food in boston is no where close to their worst...
Be the first to ReplyI came here because my sister saw a tiktok about this place.
Its a solid place, smaller than i expected, kind of a hole in the wall but its NYC and I'm Indian so I'm supportive. Wait staff seemed kinda indifferent towards us? I guess cause we're Indian, nevertheless they were attentive to our beck and call despite the busyness here. We came at opening time and it got packed quick, definitely reserve ahead of time if interested.I will say, the food really is the shining star here for this place, and honestly i wouldn't have it any other way. My favorite was the Chicken Tikka. Always been a huge fan of the dish and it came out really great. Nice thick sauce, nice hearty chunks of chicken, not too much, savory, sweet. As you can see from my pic, I kind of cleaned the plate. As far as the other dishes we had, they were also pretty good as well, the chicken wings were really good, i honestly wish i had more, great flavor. I also recommend the crème brûlée gulab jamun. YOU HAVE TO GET THIS. It's a bit pricey here, but this imo was absolutely worth it.

This place blows most other Indian food I've had out of the water. It's a perfect mix of classic Northern recipes with Hyderabadi & modern twists that make every plate exciting. The interior is warm and fun, with a really exciting mural on the back wall!Service was pleasant and quick. Literally would recommend to anyone with the slightest interest in Indian food!
Be the first to ReplyInteresting place!! The food reminded me of Dhamaka but
Interesting place!! The food reminded me of Dhamaka but smaller portions, less spicy, and definitely less expensive. The restaurant itself is super tiny and is full of small tables - definitely feels like you're at a little restaurant in India. The service was super fast and attentive. Food-wise, we started with the Patiala Chicken Tikka, which had 4 pieces of perfectly spiced and cooked chicken with a yogurt sauce on the side. We all thought it was super tasty and tender. For our entrees, we got garlic naan, the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani, the Lemon Chicken, and the Rampuri Taar Ghost (goat). We wanted to try the Shrimp Vindaloo, but they didn't have it that day, unfortunately. Starting with the biryani, it definitely lacked a lot of flavor. Everything was cooked well, but it lacked spices and tasted like normal rice and chicken. I definitely prefer the biryani at Dhamaka. Everyone at the table agreed that the lemon chicken was the favorite. The chicken was tender and the curry was super tasty and tangy from the lemon. The ghost was also really good, but I did find some pieces of flabby goat, which is never fun. We ended with the gulab jamun creme brulee, which was fantastic. It definitely doesn't have the consistency of creme brulee; it was thicker and less custardy. Overall, I liked the food a lot and LOVED the prices. I would definitely return to try other stuff on the menu.
