No idea why this place is highly rated.
Atmosphere of a hotel lobby and pretty average Korean. Many moreInteresting places around. Good quality meat but you definitely pay a premium for it.
Be the first to ReplyDo not come here if you want a nice uninterrupted dinner.
Waiter told me tables limited to 1 hour 45 minutes. I I was here earlier today and was enjoying dinner with my family. My nephew was home from college and wanted to treat him for his bday. We arrived 4 pm and exactly at 6pm we were asked by the waiter that it is 6pm and another group is waiting For our table. They were not on top of their service either. I had to figure out how to turn our grill off because waitress was not to be found and it took time for them to clean our table before we can enjoy dessert. I paid $600 for dinner and was basically told my time was up. I have dined at plenty of places and have never been asked to pretty much give up your table...never. Again this place is pricey and expensive so please think twice coming here, ex A small soup is $33. So please if you want a nice relaxing dinner DO NOT come here because they will tell you other people are waiting for table if by 1 hour and 58 minutes you are not leaving. Waiter told me it's actually 1 hour 45 minutes. This location or management do not honor their patrons. Unbelievably rude and this truly ruined the energy and night that should have been memorable for my family.
Be the first to ReplyWent last night and it was very strange.
We have been there before, a few times. No one was at the front desk to seat us when we walked in. Then we got seated in the corner of the restaurant and it felt weird so we asked if they had a table elsewhere in the restaurant. They were not packed and there were plenty of tables yet they hesitated before finding us another table. The server then came to the table and asked us if we were ready to order without even asking if we wanted to have a drink first or appetizer. Felt very rushed. Dinner was delicious and when we were finished eating our food on the grill the server brought us the check without asking if we wanted any ice cream or anything else. Very shorthanded-

Very good. Lots of tasty appetizers. Great vegetarian selection. Excellent service. Unique dining experience

Have come here twice with my GF to eat some upscale KBBQ and this place did not disappoint. Both times we ordered the Course B which is $175 (before tax and tip) and feeds 2-3 ppl. Highlights were:-Chadolbagi (Brisket) unlike any brisket I've ever had before. The brisket is so tender and is packed with a natural meat flavor (a kind of delicious irony taste). So good with the salt/oil sauce then eaten with the rice paper or rice.-Jumuluk (seasoned short rib) / Galbi (marinated short rib) both were incredibly delicious having sweet and savory flavors while also being extremely tender. While both were outstanding, the Galbi is a little bit more tender/melt in your mouth.-Banchan (sides) all the sides were delicious, however there is one that stands above the rest which is the side of Galbi (yes, a side of galbi!) that they will refill upon request. The side galbi is so delicious and can be eaten with rice. The server noticed how much I enjoyed it and when I asked for more he came back with a bigger serving that I wasn't able to finish.Course B also comes with Tofu soup (spicy or non spicy) which is not really my thing, but my GF enjoyed.Overall a great experience both times I've been and will be my go to high end kbbq and worth the money in my opinion (I don't like spending a lot of money on eating out, but don't mind if the food backs up the price, which Genwa accomplished)

Food was good, service was great till the end when our server disappeared and we had to ask for her. She probably went on her break. Another server should've taken over her tables. We were left there wondering what's going on until we grew impatient and decided to go find someone so we can pay. It's also a bit pricey. It started good but fell short toward the end.
Be the first to Replyso many tasty dishesService was fantastic.
Just a tad pricey, but highly recommended

We used to really love this place and it was really great for celebrations and for kids. Unfortunately, the prices have gone way up and you get less stuff. There was no complimentary gim for the kids, no complimentary soup for the kids, no end of meal rice dessert drink, no end of meal fancy hand towels, and no cute lollipops. I understand that prices have gone up everywhere, post pandemic lockdown, but I'm not sure it's still worth it. Really sad about this.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Korean bbq! Service was great.
They also make it for you, which helps so you don't over cook your meats. I like mine fairly rare. Had a nice chat about k drama! My wife and I just got into "crash landing into you" over all Great ambiance. Visiting family from seattle. All our family's from Cali. It's always nice to be back home away from home.

I have eaten here many times as it is very close to my house. As others have said, it isn't cheap, yet the quality of meats/fish is very high. The service is also excellent. There is too much adjustment sometimes by the wait staff of the flame - they tend to step on top of each other and have different opinions as to the level of heat - you want to be careful as no one wants to burn their food.I highly recommend this restaurant and have eaten here over 30 times to date, with continual consistency.

We love everything about this place. From veggie-cold dishes, salads , steam eggs , Yummy juicy beef plus outstanding stir fried squid. We enjoyed awesome services, great food, nice ambiance. Highly recommended this place .

I will say that the server that we had was extremely detailed and attentive to our needs. The quality was definitely there but a restaurant charging $17 for a virgin Mojito and $165 bill for lunch for 2 did not justify itself. While I enjoyed this meal very much. I will most likely not return due to the high price they present.

It was my first time trying korean bbq and I will say the food was great. But the service didnt match the quality of the food. From the moment we entered the host/server was confrontational and didn't make us feel welcome. The server wasn't attentive with our table. I hope this is just a one time experience and not the way this restaurant functions.
Be the first to ReplyMy personal favorite KBQ in LA.
Yes, it's on the more pricy side (I believe we paid around $250 for 2 people) however the quality of the meat is great. We ordered the 2 person option and got a beer and soju as well. All the little sides they bring are wonderful to try as well. KBQ is not a cuisine we eat very often so when we do, we treat ourselves.

It was so delicious! I definitely recommend it you are going to love it. It filled up my stomach fast. The Bulgogi was so good I also recommend the Gaibi was very yummy! I think you definitely should go there. Thanks BYE!!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is pricier than their counterparts in K Town.
However, the food is finer, meat is better quality and portion is smaller and still tasty. This place is quieter and less busy than K Town. Although pricier, I still like it.

This is by far one of my favorite Korean bbq restaurants in LA. Great service and selection. I highly recommend any of their 3 locations!

With two location experiences, I wanted to comment and review this particular one because I've experienced it a few times and have always been satisfied with their food quality, the staff and presentation. The ambiance is really a great place for a quiet one-on-one, or even with a group a people, and definitely a wonderful way to introduce Korean BBQ to first-timers!The marbling on the beef was beautiful! If you have had good Korean barbecue you'll know what I mean by that. One thing I do appreciate about this place is that they have amazing varieties a "banchan" (Korean side dishes) that are included as part of their service. The presentation looks clean oh, taste and texture and savoriness all are top notch. They serve two types of traditional Korean drinks, one is a wheat tea "bori-cha" and the other one is "shikae", a sweet rice drink. In All Occasions, my guests truly enjoy themselves and that includes my highly discerning mother when it comes to Korean cuisine! All in all a great place to enjoy some formal dining, regardless of the size of your party. Keep in mind the price is on the higher end, and at this location parking may be a bit tricky. Just watch out for the signs to make sure you're not parking in areas that might garner you a ticket. All in all a deliciously savory dance for your mouth, and a great place for a Korean BBQ experience!

Although a little pricey and no reservations taken, this place is excellent. I always go with family and try to go at an off-time, like late afternoon for dinner around 3-4 p.m. The banchan is excellent, and the staff will replenish whatever you like. The portion size is good for the BBQ options.
