It was our first day in Roma after traveling from Florence.
We stumbled upon this gem. We were taken care of by the owner Catarina, who was an absolute delight!! The food was so good and we found a wonderful bottle of Syrah, they off in a 1/2 bottle or whole. We ended up going the next day and we're taken care of by Louie, Catarina's brother. Very cute place, indoor and outdoor seating is available. We appreciated the warm kind service we got on both of our visits.

This was one of our favorite sweet little places to eat during our vacation. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Great recommendations of food and wine. The dinning rooms are small and quaint. We ended up going 3x during our vacation. Simple and delicious local food!

After a slow start, this is most likely my issue as an impatient tourist, the four of us in the group setup a share system. The staff was more than accommodating with the food sharing. The food was incredible. Realistically, I am not sure what to say as I am not a chef, other than wow! I like great food and every dish delivered flavor well beyond our expectations. If I was going to be in Rome longer, the restaurant would definitely warrant another visit.
Be the first to ReplyI had a super yummy cacio e pepe at a great price.
I plan to go back to try more dishes!

We were ready for something different from pasta, and loved what we chose here. We had the Insalada Fagioli with green beans, potatoes and eggs served warm with delicious mustard. We then had the meatballs with onion and pine nuts, which was also wonderful. We didn't try any pasta or pizza, but what we had was very good!

Pasta was delicious, entrees were ok, home style but nothing to cry over. A little pricey compared to other local restaurants for what you get.Service was good but slowed down particularly on the back end of the meal as the restaurant filled up.Men's restroom missing a toilet seat cover.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great dinner here.
This is in the heart of the travestere neighborhood and really is an awesome spot. The service was attentive and really made us feel welcome. Seems like this is a locals place since we heard a lot of italian being spoken by the guests. Sometimes in this area you could be surrounded by tourists and thats always a bad sign.We ordered the charcuterie platter as well as the zucchini flowers. The meats were great and all very flavorful. The friend zucchini flowers were ok. They were fried and a little oily. For pasta courses we got the spaghetti with a tomato sauce and bacon. I forget the name but it was amazing. The pasta with the pesto sauce was also delicious.Pasta was perfectly al dente. The wine was also on point. Come here if you are in the area.
Be the first to Replysweet staff, nice pasta, slower than Christmas.
Ate here as party of 1. Wanted quick bite and take home pasta to my son at hotel. Took 1.5 hours for tapanade and pasta only. Then had to flag down waiter to get to go order, another 25 minutes. While I am sure they were busy, other tables served twice as fast. Felt like a ghost. After traveling in Europe for 35 years, this left me feeling single = unwanted customer. Rats.

Went here on a recommendation from a Roman friend and it was awesome. We were quite a large and mildly obnoxious group drunk on almost 5 liters of the house wine so that did help the experience. I got the Jewish artichoke for the appetizer which was.... Quite disappointing. It's literally one artichoke deep fried and served for 6€ .. What? Too expensive , wasn't that delicious and kind of hard to eat actually. BUT the resto redeemed itself with the pistachio cream and tomato tagliatelle which was OFF THE HOOK. So creamy and so delicious just melted in the mouth. Definitely recommend getting that if you come here!
Be the first to ReplySo far this is the only place I would give 5 stars.
The food here is superb. AND the servers are super friendly and fun. We felt so at home. I wanted pasta with my calamari salad and our server said that is not proper!!LOL.!! Loved it. When in Rome do as the Romans!!Every dish was better then the next. For wine get the bottle of Rose. They only have one and it is fabulous!!I loved everything about this place. You will be very glad you came here!!

We had intended to go to Da Fabrizio a few paces away, but it was closed on Sunday evening. We were hungry and tired and took a table inside at Da Gildo. The woman who runs the place was very very nice and accommodating, but the food was just not great : (The bruschetta bread was "under grilled" it was not even a bit crunchy. We ordered two pastas: bucatini all'Amatriciana which was fine - nothing special, and gnocchi with butter, parmeggiano, and sage.... It was awful. The gnocchi were very large, like 2 inches in diameter, flat, cookie shaped, and really tasted like un seasoned mashed potato discs. My 8 year old actually asked for salt. We only ate a couple. We didn't stay for secondi. Tomorrow night we're going to Da Fabrizio.
