Grand Banks New York Reviews from The Last Year
Came here for the views, it is absolutely stunning.
The food was okay too! Can never go wrong with oysters. Bathroom is a bit dingy & the boat rocks a bit, if you have extreme sensitivity to motion sickness this might not be the experience for you.
Grand Banks is our favorite oyster bar in New York City.
There's nothing quite as magical as enjoying great food, amazing wine and taking in the incredible ambiance of this beautiful boat while admiring the city skyline. This restaurant group always produces exceptional dining spots with top notch service, and we're a huge fan of their sister restaurant in New Orleans called Seaworthy. Day or night, Grand Banks is the perfect spot to get your oyster fix while basking in lovely views of the city and getting out on the water!

The food was absolutely delicious! Their sage aioli and the cheesy grits were to die for! The service was very good, and the ambiance was absolutely amazing! It was so cool being on a boat, and the decor was beautiful.
I really enjoyed this place for the ambiance.
Anything boat related in the city is always a nice touch. However, the BOAT DOES ROCK! It took me a minute to center myself to enter the boat. Be careful when exiting and entering the boat. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who easily gets motion sickness. The service was great and quick. The staff were all considerate. The food was pretty good and cheaper than i expected (though still standard Manhattan prices). The ambiance is the real selling point!

It's a fun, unique experience! Full review on IG @valeries.views You come for the ambiance and views, not so much the expensive mediocre food and drinks. It's beautiful and the staff are really nice. The lobster roll was just okay and the watermelon drink was nice although tasted a bit diluted.
The epitome of waterfront dining in Manhattan.
Really delicious lobster rolls and a great view. Be aware that the boat does rock up and down a little bit with the tide/waves. Also, there isn't much cover if a storm passes through. Service was good. Would love to go back at sunset!

The ambiance is great, especially when bringing someone who is visiting NY. Be warned however, that the boat rocks since it's docked in the water but waves still move it around. So if anyone in your party easily gets motion sickness, I would not recommend. Making a reservation was easy online and we were seated right away at our scheduled time. The food was delicious, and the place is known for its oyster bar so we had to try it. It's definitely on the pricier side, as a dozen oysters can easily cost $50+, but it's an experience worth trying. The Steelhead entree was delicious. Perfectly cooked and naturally juicy, which is hard to come by with some seafood restaurants. The fingerlings were also a great combination with the fish that melted in my mouth. The lobster salad was also great, with lots of lobster lumps included in the salad. They did not skimp out on the seafood!
Location 10, Food 3
Nice location, sunny day. I tried to order the salmon, it was out of stock. The rest was really not up to par food. Terrible service. The location alone is worth the lunch. Menu only on scan, but they don't have wifi. Kitchen not up to par.
Lobster with a view.
Was told about this place when we were hungry for Lobsterrolls. So good and nice environment..on a boat. Friendly staff. However, very expensive.
Love this place.
The food is good; I got a lobster roll which came very quickly, and they put some sliced cucumbers in it to add to the crunch which made it better. The ambiance is SO nice and it's so cool being on a boat. I barely noticed the waves rocking the boat that much, but if you're someone who gets seasick very easily, I'm not sure if I would recommend (my mom didn't like the rocking back and forth). The boat was really pretty and it was so nice looking at the view of the water. Highly recommended!!
Location A+ Service C-
The location is spectacular. The service however was just so so. Our server was slow in bringing our drinks ( our appetizers came first and we were finished with them by the time our drinks came ). Then she told us we were switching to another server. We never saw him. We had to finally flag somebody at the bar down in order to get another drink. Then a third person came by and said they were now our server. At that point all we wanted was our check. That of course arrive promptly. The good was okay... but the service issues really put a damper on the evening.
Lovely evening on the Sherman Zwicker!!
What a stunning restaurant, with an even better backdrop, sat on the banks of the Hudson onboard the Sherman Zwicker schooner, lovely night, great service, my only tip is to get a seat overlooking the river not the pier, as the views are so much nicer.
Wonderful in Every Way!
Really appreciated reviewers’ comments on timing. We had a wonderfully paced lunch. We managed timing by only initially ordering cocktails and oysters. Then ordering our meals later on. Our server Sam was really polished and knowledgeable. We loved everything we had - oysters, seared scallops, and trout. The creative cocktail menu was fun. And yes, the meal was on the pricey side but we were paying for an absolutely amazing experience. Can’t wait to go back again.
What a fantastic venue and it doesn't get any more
What a fantastic venue and it doesn't get any more waterfront than a boat complete with the rocking in the water. The view no matter which way you are facing is spectacular. Food selection, taste and preparation were all spot on. We had Lobster Salad, Steelhead Trout and Softshell Crab as entrees. Starters were Oysters, Crudo and Polpette. Key Lime Mousse for dessert. Our servers were efficient, attentive and entertaining. We are all wine drinkers and the wine selection was a bit weak but honestly, that did not detract from the overall experience or our whole hearted recommendation.

Great ambience, try and make a reservation for sunset as I'm sure most people do. We came here on a whim and luckily there was a spot at the bar, which we only had an hour before the host told us we had to leave. Not great, but without a reservation I get it. Do not sit at the bar! I, personally, hated it. The boat rocks and the chairs just felt very flimsy with people bumping into me twice. I kept thinking I was going to fall off, but my friend laughed at my troubles - so it could have been just me. We got Lobster roll, french fries, crudo, and steelhead trout. The food was very good, but overpriced - you are paying for the view. A lot of places don't do crudo right, but they nailed it! Definitely recommend trying it. P.S. If you are getting non-bottled water it's a $1/person and is called "Charity Water" a bit of an oxymoron.
Great service and ambiance.
The food was a bit pricey, but expected for NYC. A must when visiting so that you're experiencing a little calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Grand Banks has to be one of the best spots to go to during
Grand Banks has to be one of the best spots to go to during the perfect nyc summer night. The oysters were fresh and the shrimp cocktail had nice big shrimps. We also got the scallops which was delicious. Cocktails tasted great too. I really enjoyed the overall nautical vibe and the servers were awesome.
Great location - amateur service
Great location, fairly good food and drinks, but … We come here regularly and the service is maximal medium. All three courses were served at the same time (oysters, appetizers, mains) - and this happened the 3rd time now. It’s a pity, otherwise this would be top of the list !!
Nice Views
Eating on this boat and having drinks you feel your on vacation. However, the chairs are very uncomfortable and I have been a few times and tried to sit at different locations on this boat. Yes, the food is expensive but your paying for the experience.
We will return
We have been there twice We discovered the Grand Banks at Pier 25 during our recent visit in the City. It's a great quite place to relax and enjoy cold drinks, cocktails and freshly prepared food. The view is breathtaking. You are overlooking the Hudson River and can see One World, downtown Manhattan and of course Jersey City. The service team is very attentive and looking after you on a very professional way. The manager is supporting the team and taking his time to talk to the guests and surprise them. I can really recommend that place.
Glass of wine on the Grand Banks
Enjoying the sunset, and stopped for a glass of wine. Wine was not a full glass, and overpriced. Although we didn't ask for it, we were served water, then found a $2 charge on our bill for it . There were tables empty the whole time, but we had to sit at the bar. Loved sitting outside in the sunset on a boat, even if it was tied to the dock, but wish I weren't feeling taken advantage of.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
How to list a Nobu Malibu reservation
Hi, I have a reservation to Nobu Malibu, but since they don't do text or e-mail confirmations I haven't been able to get my reservation posted. I have posted a screen shot of the phone conversation on the listing, but it keeps getting rejected. If anyone has an idea how I can get it approved that would be much appreciated, thanks!

Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
