Gratify Houston Reviews from The Last Year
My wife and I hosted our wedding dinner on the back patio
My wife and I hosted our wedding dinner on the back patio at Gratify with a party of over 35 people and had an amazing experience on every level. Ella was very responsive and easy to work in getting the details pinned down for the event. She offered some great wine pairings to match our pre-set menu. During the celebration the service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend the crab cakes and the mussels. The gratify team paid attention to every detail and made our event extra special. Our guests had a great time and we got a lot of praise for choosing the location. My wife and I were extremely happy with how things turned out.
Beautiful restaurant, we had a great dinner.
Food was delicious! And Drink menu is good as well.

Such a cute brunch/dinner spot! Every dish was very delightful! Roulade Di Branzino - The Branzino fish was buttery, covered in a flavorful cream, and stuffed with grilled bell peppers. The arugula side salad was tossed in a light lemony vinaigrette with slices of red and white onions. 9/10 The Mafalde pesto pasta was the best peso pasta I've ever had! The noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was rich and creamy. This dish comes with pulled chicken and topped with crispy garlic. 9/10 The ceviche was pretty good. There was octopus, shrimp, and red snapper fish, avocado, mango, cucumbers, onions. I expected the fish to be a bit raw but it was fully cooked. The chips were okay, too thick for my liking. 6/10 The gratify salad was so refreshing and delicious! It has arugula, cucumbers, avocados, pumpkin seeds, watermelon radish, and a light dijon mustard vinaigrette. Fresh greens in every bite! 9/10 The service was great. Our waitress definitely knows the menu like the back of her hand! The restrooms was very clean and gave off sophisticated romantic vibes. I would definitely return.

Gratify is a beautiful restaurant in Rice Village with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated immediately (with prior reservations) and our waiter, Sebastian, took good care of us for the entire meal. He made good suggestions and answered all of our questions. There is upbeat music playing, but it is not so loud that you can't have a conversation. The tables are spread out so you are not seated too close to other diners. Noise level was low for a Friday night. I started with special citrus salad which was delicious! Fresh and delightful flavors. My husband had a salad which was large and also fresh. For my entree, I ordered the PEI Mussels and they were fabulous! Possibly the best I've had in Houston. They were served in a large bowl with a very tasty broth. The best French fries and bread were given with the meal. So good!! I'd order this again in a heartbeat. My husband had the poached salmon and he also gave his meal two thumbs up. We did not order dessert. We usually don't partake of dessert and it was easy to say no because the dessert choices were pretty heavy and intense sounding. We will return to Gratify!

Very nice spot, outside area is next to a green area secure for kids to run around. Service was spot on, friendly and attentive without being pushy. Food was good, nothing outstanding though. Will be trying Coppa soon, next door from Grarify and from the same ownership group, looked great when I walking by it.
My husband and I had a fantastic date night here.
Our waiter was attentive AND put in our order for cocktails and a bottle of wine in time to make their fantastic Happy Hour squeaking in at the last minute. We had the truffle pasta, kale salad, and beef bourguignon. It was delicious, and I love the gorgeous decor and seating but also the fact that it is not too stuffy ('neighborhood'). There are children running around, but it did not detract from our experience at all. We closed with the chocolate layer cake - YUM! Will DEFINITELY be returning to this place that has been on our list for a long time and we finally made it out to -- I recommend it!

OMG! I'm in love! We set on the bar! Had an excellent service! We had a great bottle of wine and a few drinks, FYI, the wine selection is awesome, and super fare prices, The food was very fresh, and great portion! We will definitely come back!
Service was great and the portions were tasty but tiny.
$30 a plate for not much. $14 a glass for a bottle you could have bought for less. No bread or extras, nothing. Just not worth it.
The food was a little bland to me.
Not just my dish, but even my friends dishes tastes bland. I like food with bold flavors, this place just didn't do it for me. The ambiance was beautiful though.
Nice outdoor patio, good food and delicious drinks.
Enjoyed my lunch experience. Started with octopus, which was perfect - nicely grilled, enjoyed the chimichurri herb garnish, and the yam that accompanied the octopus. Had the gratify salad with blackened shrimp and it was tasty, light, yet filling. This place could also work with kids b/c the open area in the back of the patio was perfect for letting the kids run and expend energy. I also had the refreshing fun/cucumber/mint/sparking drink and it was perfect for the breezy day outdoors.
Oh man oh man! Nothing disappointed me tonight.
Friend and I chose to eat at this place because of the reviews and scenery inside this restaurant. We ended up eating inside the restaurant because it was a bit cooler and the ambience was nice. It was just the right amount of dimness where we didn't struggle much to see what was around us or read the menu. No live music, but there was music playing and it wasn't loud to a point where we had talk so loud. Our waiter was pretty cool and describe the meals and specials with every detail. I had the espresso martini to start off the night. My friend ended up trying the special Cupid's Elixir which had a nice kick of sweetness to it, but she enjoyed it. To start off on the meals, we had the caviar and chips. She wasn't a big fan of it, but I love caviar, so it was a nice treat for me to get to eat the rest. :). The potato chips were made from scratch in house, and it was delicious. Next up was the East Coast Oysters. We ended up getting a half dozen, and there were three types of them. Now, the waiter did explain to us where they were from, but all I could focus was the caviar at this time. Regardless, they were pretty friggin good. I even topped the caviar on top of the oysters, and ouuwee it was good. After that we had the Charred Octopus. Everyone should order this appetizer. Little pricey, but it was worth it. It came with three type of sauces, and it all complimented the octopus just right. I had leftover chips and finished off the sauces with the chips. It also came with a sweet potato that was cooked perfectly. Everything on this dish was on point. I should have ordered another one, but we still had our main dishes next on queue. Self control. Onto the main dishes. We were getting pretty full at this time, but we like to eat, so we were able to tackle onto the main dishes. Or at least try. Friend had the 12oz ribeye special. Medium rare. I had a bite of the ribeye, and it was mouth buttery excellent. There was a sauce topped with the potatoes, but I didn't care to taste it. Now I had the taglierini truffle pasta. Bro, this pasta was on par. Now, I'm a fan of pasta when its served immediately after the pasta has been tossed and coasted with the sauce instead of the sauce being poured over the pasta. It was perfect. The seasoning, the parmesan, the truffles, the pasta, everything was on point. Would I order this pasta again? Hellyeh I would. No questions asked. Unfortunately, we were too full to finish it off, so we ended up taking our dishes to go. We skipped the dessert menu, but we got surprised with the cotton candy birthday cake with sparklers. That was a good way to end the night. Am i coming back? I sure would. Service was great, and I didn't even have to ask to refill my water. Every time i look down, my cup magically becomes full again. Now rating that service deserves a 5 star, but that's just me. My friend took pictures, but i didn't bother to. Their website does a good job providing pics to what their dishes look like, so check it out before you head over to this place.
Trendy
Group of 9 that arrived at two different times. Staff did a great job of taking care of everyone. Interesting adult beverages. They should consider a "flight"-trialing 3 different cocktails for exposure. Also an interesting menu with a bit of everything. Our group tried all the sharing items. Octopus was my favorite. Several ordered the strip steak but said it lacked flavor. Several tried the seafood stir fry but couldn't eat much because it was overly seasoned. Desserts were good. Decent prices. Give it a try. Always good to have a trendy place or two in the mix.
I had a great time at Gratify Bistro this day.
It was my second visit, but the first time I came here was for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere was totally different then. Today I came for lunch, and I was impressed by how friendly and helpful the manager Ella was. She made sure we had everything we needed and more. The food was amazing too. We ordered the Gratify board and the deviled eggs and they were so filling and tasty. I would recommend this place for any occasion, day or night. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy good food and drinks. Parking: There is two-hour street parking on the side that counts down the time on your smart phone. Valet is convenient and at the front of the restaurant.

Full disclosure I did place a to go order so my interaction with staff was minimal however The to-go service was excellent. The ambience was beautiful. The place was so cute. Actually wish that I stayed to sit down and have a meal. The to go orders were beautifully plated and plated in a way to ensure that you could enjoy the meal. I really enjoyed the deviled eggs while the French toast was perfectly cooked. I personally would've preferred for crème brûlée French toast to have more of a custard-y interior. Their French toast had a light crispy exterior and a light fluffy interior (like lightly toasted brioche bread instead of French toast.) Pricing is high but i can tell it goes towards the details of fine dining. I would recommend this for business dining.
Food was great.
I had the crab cakes. Tasty, but a bit small. The service was a bit lacking, especially since I was sitting at the bar and I, and the manager, had to flag the bartender down to get service a few times and the restaurant wasn't busy. Nice decor.

Such a lovely place! It's a little expensive but it's well worth it! Friendly and professional waitstaff, great food, delicious cocktails, excellent ambience. Go treat yo self!! :)

My friends had planned for brunch but we got there past 3p which means the brunch session had ended. we opted to stay for their usual menu and to be honest, we loved it. The food was so good. Enough portion for a Sunday afternoon. The drinks were so good though not appealing in terms of aesthetics ( lol this social media world!!) The ambiance is 10/10. Loved the space from the inside sitting to the outside. service was a 10/10. Can't remember the name of our server but he was so good to us and absolutely patient with a crowd of women trying to figure out what to eat. Overall we enjoyed our time and we are definitely planning to go back for Brunch!!

Me and a group of friends had dinner here one night and the experience was enjoyable. We did make reservations during to the size of my group, so we were seating fairly quickly after walking in the door. The ambiance is dim and classy while also being inviting. Our server was nice and went over the specials in detail. He was also very accommodating and patient. I ordered a custom drink, Cesar salad, and lobster risotto. The drink was very strong and I couldn't finish it but that's not a bad thing lol. The salad was good but could have been dressed a little more and the risotto was flavorful with large pieces of succulent lobster in it. Overall I had a good time and good experience and I wouldn't mind eating here again when I come back into town.
