I thought the place was decent.
The meals were good and service was great. The only issue was the price.. IT WAS EXPENSIVE!!! They charge you 8 dollars for a STICK of garlic bread. We thought it came with the meal. It does not. DO NOT GET THE GARLIC BREAD THEY OFFER YOU IT IS NOT FREE!!! IT IS 8 DOLLARS FOR A STICK!! They also charge you a 4% service charge on top of that. Although our meals were good, it was not worth the price... especially with the smaller portion sizes they give. You can go to Georgetown to Filomena and get double the portion sizes a better tasting meal, and a giant free complementary bread basket for less money. This place is good but be beware you're gonna drop nearly 200 bucks for 2 people for mediocre Italian food. This place thinks it's Carbone. It is not...

The most incredible food I've ever had! We sat at the bar & the bartender was incredibly friendly & knowledgeable. Everything we ordered was perfect! Next time we're back in DC this will be the first place we go!

Grazie Nonna continues to be a favorite of mine in DC! Even after a few years of being open, you still need to make a reservation in advance, which means that it hasn't lost its spark. Although the environment can be loud, the staff is super nice and the food is great. As a creature of habit, once I find something I love, I continue going back to it. The Sunday Sauce is my favorite pasta entree, and the Drunk in Love is the best pizza. While you can't go wrong with any of their menu selections, these happen to be my favorite. If you like cocktails with savory brine, the Nonna Martini will not disappoint with its banana pepper taste. I will be back again soon!
Be the first to ReplyI like this place.
It was nestled between two office buildings, with beautiful outdoor seating and a bustling dining room. This place reminded me of one of those restaurants in the village in NYC. I went there with our reservations, and the host/manager accommodating my party at a reserved bar area. This was super cool. We had a chance to see them make the pizzas and pasta. Great experience. Try the clams.
Be the first to ReplyBest pizza!!!.
.. nice decoration, good wine, friendly staff, food in general was delicious. Great ambiance. A little noise. Clean bathrooms, shared with the restaurant next door. Easy parking. I loved this place!

Amazing food and great team to go along with it - either at a table or seated at the bar. Don't miss the Caesar's Salad or the Sunday Sauce.
Be the first to ReplyFull of Grazie that I came across this place.
The taste of the pizza lived up to the impossible standards of its photo. The crust and pepperonis were crispy and delicious. Thanks nonna for the incredible swirls of vodka sauce. We also got the perfectly crispy and garlicky calamari and the vodka sauce pasta. I do wish the pasta was a little spicer, but this meal had my hands compulsively coming together like Inside was a great vibe with a beautiful large glass window. The restaurant was a little small and loud, but maybe I'm just becoming a bit of a nonna myself. It was hard to get a reservation, but definitely worth the wait. Thanks grandma!

Staff outing for lunch?! Yes, I will take it! I dined in at this establishment with my colleagued as a reward for a very hard week of work! We decided to treat ourselves. The ambiance of this restaurant is luxury and it has a very artsy and classical feel to it! Dim lighting, with the aroma of garlic filling your nostrils as it goes throughout the air! For my drink I had a fresh and vibrant lemonade! I ordered a salad for my appetizer and also calamari to share with my colleagues. For my main course, I ordered shrimp scampi! Let's just say that the salad was the bee's knees! It was bountiful, fresh, and tasted like absolute magic! I have never tasted a salad so delicious! The calamari was fresh and crispy! It came with a marinara sauce, as well as a garlic mayo aioli sauce! Yummy! No rubbery stuff here! LOL! For my main course the scampi!!! OH YES!!! The pasta was bucatini pasta, and it was doused with fresh herbs and nice and juicy shrimp! My goodness, it hit home!!! Lastly, the service was on point! Everyone that was on staff was friendly and made us feel welcome! Me and my colleagues were on cloud nine! We will be back! Cheers to good eats!

5 stars!!! Excellent food, our server was fantastic (forgot her name ), and the vibe in there is classy, elegant, but fun. The manager at the door was a little less pleasant, but other than her it was a warm and positive experience. Spicy martini was fantastic!!! I can't wait to have that again. Food: We had the La Luna salad, Drunken Love pizza, Vodka Sauce pasta, and Sunday Sauce pasta. All absolutely delicious! I can't wait to come back here again. If you have time after your meal, make sure to walk into the other side of the establishment to find a cool, sexy bar: Grazie Mille.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was excellent.
The portions were large. The crispy duck lasagna was "OUT OF THIS WORLD" good.Parking - its downtown Atlanta, guess what parking is like.Service - good effortless, not very personable.

So underwhelming for the amount of hype surrounding this establishment. The service was god awful and everyone had a piss poor attitude. Food was nothing special. As someone who eats out multiple times a week I had high hopes for this place.Don't waste your time or $$$ here when there are far better restaurants like Shoto right next door.
Be the first to ReplyMight be my new favorite spot for Italian in DC.
You can taste the freshness in the pasta! Both the pizza and pasta dishes were amazing, but if you have to pick one, PASTA.
Be the first to ReplyNice place tucked away among other shops and larger
Nice place tucked away among other shops and larger restaurants. We came to try the tapas or small plates. The sautéed spinach was okay, nothing memorable. The grill shrimp were slightly better but again needed seasoning. The Brussels sprouts came in a large dish and could feed 4 people but again not particularly better than other places I tried. The pork belly was flavorful and perhaps the only savory dish of the four. They need more protein, chicken skewers or some small beef or pork for small tapas plates. Will come back to try the entree dishes soon.Crowded on a weekend.

Upon entering, this place was shockingly beautiful. I am so glad a place like this came to DC. You don't find very many unique places unless you are at the Wharf. The candles, dim lighting, the chandeliers. It was a wonderful atmosphere. My family and i ordered theCalamari- deliciousCaesar Salad- probably the best Caesar I ever had. I wish it was bigger. It was a romaine stalk. You have to cut it up. which was fine because the taste was amazing.Vodka Pasta- This taste very authentic. The pasta was not like most italian restaurants. You can tell this was handmade and the sauce, oof.We also had the broccoli pasta, sunday sauce, eggplant parm and the garlic bread.THE GARLIC BREAD. i am not being dramatic but again, probably the best garlic bread I have ever had. I wish it was not as small though. It was soft, garlicky and olive oiley with parmesan shavings. Perfect to dip into your pasta.I wish i was able to add some chicken to my dish instead of shrimp, but oh well. Still great. It was all seriously amazing. The pasta was fresh and the sauces were authentic. Good flavor all around. There is a good chef back there that knows what they are doing.I am coming back.Drinks were good too and not terribly expensive.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was mediocre at best.
The service was rushed and not professional, the ambiance was cute. As a Italian American I can say that this place is not authentic. Their "house" as they call it needs some history lessons. Do not take someone's culture and ruin it. This place is overpriced, the restrooms are dirty and the idea of Italian..is way off here. Very overpriced sad place.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is TOP NOTCH.
All around amazing experience. Hosts were extremely accommodating and kind. Our server was hospitable and attentive. Service was surprisingly fast. Ambiance was beautiful. But that wasn't even the best part - the food was incredible. This is no exaggeration, best Italian food I've ever had. Everything was so flavorful and thoughtful. In my vodka sauce dish there was mint, it was a game changer! The meatballs in my boyfriends dish were to die for. This is our new favorite spot! Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyInstagram brought me here and I decided to try this
Instagram brought me here and I decided to try this restaurant for my bday. I had requested a dessert when I made the reservation since they ask if you have any special requests, but the server had no idea of it. Way to make your customers feel special when they choose your restaurant for their special day lol. Our server was an older man with clear glasses. He looked so uninterested and as a server you should have some kind of charisma, right? You work in customer service! The Hispanic workers that go around refilling your cups with water and clearing the tables were so much nicer and welcoming than the floor staff. I got the Sunday sauce pasta and it was good, just a little salty. The hostess also put a time limit on my party of people. She told us we had to be out of there by 7:45 pm or latest 8 pm. I didn't like that. I don't like being rushed. This place is definitely overrated. I will not be coming back. Head on over to A La Lucia in Alexandria, VA YALL. He's closing the restaurant in the summer and the food is so good and they are friendly! Go support him!
Be the first to ReplyOk the service was great.
They accommodated a much bigger party than what was expected very quickly even though they were crowded. The pizza was was best item in my opinion. Vodka pasta was a little too acidic, but the broccoli Calabrese was pretty good. Portions are very small which was a little disappointing. But very cute place that has a decent menu.

Was shocked at the location when we walked up and remained impressed throughout the night! The ambiance is on point with the dark, almost speakeasy type lighting. The food is just so good! Get the Drunken Love, it is worth the hype! And the Sunday Sauce pasta?? Could've ordered another one to go!! So tasty! I'd recommend and I'd love to go back one day and maaay try the vodka sauce pasta next time!
Be the first to ReplyI wish I could give a 4.
5. Overall, the food and service were amazing but the noise that others mentioned really was disruptive (otherwise it would be a 5).Food: 5/5. We had the drunken love pizza, the Sunday sauce, and the chicken parm. It was all AMAZING. Totally surpassed my expectations. The portions were perfect, except I do think there could've been more a bit more pasta with the chicken.Service: 5/5. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The food also came pretty quick - we were finished eating about 50 minutes after we sat down. Ambiance: 2/5. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with lots of chandeliers and candles that make the lighting really nice. It is extremely loud though, to the point that I couldn't wait to leave because it was almost overstimulating. I saw others mention it but I didn't think it would be that bad. But, this was really the only con.
Be the first to ReplyI finally was able try Grazie Nonna! I was so excited like
I finally was able try Grazie Nonna! I was so excited like everyone else I was dying to try the infamous "Drunken Love" pizza from Grazie Nonna. So I will mention my overall review is more or less a 3.5 but there are no halves here on Yelp. Before you all panic hear me out... We started our Meal with drinks of course.. we had the Limoncello drink... I actually don't see it on the online menu but it was extremely bitter. Would not recommend. For our appetizer we ordered the Calamari which was very tasty! The breading was light and crispy and the accompanying aioli paired perfectly. It was divine! For our entree we ordered the Drunken Love Pizza... the infamous pizza topped with Vodka sauce, pepperoni, and Parmesan. Now she is beautiful but she taste just OK... the flavors were slightly missing. The cheese wasn't the best quality and you could almost taste it. Now don't get me wrong but after experiencing other "Chic Italian" spots in the District the flavors did not meet our expectations. We also ordered the Sunday Sauce... which is a pasta dish with a bland red sauce and very flavorful and tender short rib. If you ask for fresh Parmesan you will receive a cup of grated Parmesan... no freshly shaved Parmesan here! One thing we enjoyed was the ambiance, beautiful lighting, vintage chic decor. And a nice view of watching chefs toy with Pizza dough! Very nice. All and all Grazie Nonna is a solid spot, It's worth a try... the food lacked some of my expectations
Be the first to ReplyThis place was good but a little overhyped.
Place is modern but very cozy cute.Service once seated was very good/fast.-Ordered the mushroom risotto ball apps they were delicious but very salty..my bf even agreed.-the drunk in love vodka pizza was really good&very large/shareable and prob our favorite of the night. -wanted the vodka shrimp pasta but then I was told they were out of shrimp...-so ended up getting the clam linguine which was ok (also only 5 clams...)-bf got the sunday sauce meat pasta he liked it.-expresso martini was very good. (They didn't have ginger beer for a Moscow mule.)I would maybe go back to try some other dishes?

The interior of this place is stunning--I was all sold for the white tablecloths, candles, dimmer lights, and nostalgic, antique decorations. We started the night with Calamari, which was solid. I felt that the dough was a bit flaky, but the garlic aioli that came with it was so creamy and paired well with the dish. Then we ordered the drunken love pizza and the Sunday sauce. I came in with a lot of high hopes for the Drunken Love pizza, The pizza is thin-crusted, chewy-ish dough, which I liked. The sauce on top of the pizza was a unique touch, but the pizza itself did not stand out. The Sunday Sauce pasta took me by surprise as each bite tasted like the warm, cozy feeling of a home-cooked meal with your family. The dish was earthy as the sauce had a lot of depth to it. This was enough food for the 2 of us.The servers were professional and efficient. Would recommend it for those craving solid Italian food in the city!
