Sad visit...
I am shocked at how much this place has gone down hill since the last time we were here. It used to be our favorite. They have remodeled the inside and outside and it's lost its cozy cabin atmosphere. Many of the walls are now just drywall and not decorated and do not have the log cabin look. Everything is automated and done by kiosk and not people. You no longer get free wolf ears. You now have to pay $15 a day to park even when you are an overnight guest. It is not near as clean. I have taken 2 meals back due to them being so cold I was afraid it was going to cause a food borne illness. The rooms are damp and the carpet is sticky. I think someone may have smoked in our room prior to our arrival and they tried to cover the smell. The Waterpark has dirt in water floating around. The food areas are not being kept clean and there are people cooking the food with food safety gloves but handling their phones in the gloves and then serving food without putting on new ones. All of this, and the prices have gone up. This used to be our place. We won't be back unless we can't pass up a very cheap deal.

We really enjoyed our stay. The water park was a blast and the rooms were clean, large and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The food was pretty good but a little pricey. All in all, a great visit and we would go again. Looking forward to the one in Florida being built.
Be the first to ReplyDirty, Old, and Smells
The entire building is dusty, dirty, and smells. Everything looks and smells old and needs updated and feels gross. Even the elevators are dirty and stained. Kids enjoyed the water park, so grateful for that. Would never visit this location again at $300 a night for a room that smells and has sticky carpet.

This place was just not clean. When we checked in they gave us keys to another family’s room. Rooms were very dirty and it really didn’t seem they had been cleaned in a while. The kids had fun with the water park but I was grossed out the entire time. The whole place gave me wet bandaid vibes.

While the rooms were fine the way they add fees is possibly illegal. Failure to disclose all the fees in an easy to find place would make it possible to void them. They should simply raise the price since there is no way to avoid any of them. If you take a towel from pool area to your room they charge as a lost towel fee. It’s not lost and we will challenge the charge with Amex. Prefer to never see this place again
Be the first to ReplyVery nice water park. Clean and great staff members.
We visited with our 6 year old grandson in March of 2024, spending 2 nights. Our room was clean and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. The water park is very nice, clean. Our only negative experience was buying lunch at one of the food spots inside the water park. The life guards are very attentive. The cheeseburgers were simply not good, not hot, buns dried out, fries cold... and really overpriced. We would recommend this water park to anyone.

His was our first time at GWL. Check-in at the kiosk was difficult. We ended up checking in at the front desk and our room was ready 4 hours early, which was great. Our room was very nice and clean and just like the website. We thought we got a balcony room, but we did not and the view was of part of the building, so that was a bummer. The water park was fun, but we did not like the layout at all. It was hard to find our kids when they went to play. This hotel/waterpark is more for little kids. We didn't see very many teenagers. We at at the buffet for dinner on our first night and we're sticker shocked with the bill. It was $180 for two adults and three 14 year Olds (which are charged as adults if over the age of 11, which is ridiculous). $30/person basically. There should be a tier system on price. The arcade was nice but more expensive than Dave and Buster's. The prizes were cheaply made. Bowling was fun. Parking should be included ($15/day). Overall, we had an okay time. I'm not sure we will be back.

We have visited this property with our kids 1-2 times a year since it opened in 2006 visited 3 times recently with grandson this will be our last all visits have not been great but consistently ok till now we stayed In a family suite March 3-4 we experienced dirty room, rude staff, and now the last straw they started charging for parking there are much better options within the same drive for us you have lost this packs business
Be the first to ReplyGreat Place, but Lazy River could use a slight change!
Our family of all ages had lots of fun. The rooms and common areas were clean and the employees were friendly. The only reason I took off one star is because the lazy river has one area where you cannot pass without water being dumped on your head/face. I saw many children stopping at that point because they didn't want to go through. If some of the water dumping cones above were removed on just one side, it would allow guests to pass without getting water dumped on them. Those who want to get wet can pass on the other side. It would be a win-win situation for everyone!
Be the first to ReplyLots of fun, rude employees, broken toaster, and no refund given.
I went to the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason OH with my family 1/8/24-1/10/24. I had a great experience all though you should know that the employees are rude. I only encountered two nice employees. One at the buffet restaurant and one when I was leaving helped me carry a bag down. The reason for the bad review is two reasons 1) rude employees who work at a family establishment and should be working somewhere where kids aren’t at. 2) I bring my toaster on all our vacations. I just bought a new toaster in September for $45. I forgot it at the hotel. I filed a report for lost and found. They found it and told me it would cost $30 for them to send it to me. $30 is extreme for them to send me my toaster through the mail, obviously they are making money for the shipping but hey I’d save $15 from buying a new one, right? Well I paid it came two days later. The box looked pack before I opened it. Once I opened it and it sprung up and that is were I discovered my lovely toaster was put in a box too small for it, nothing around it, beat up, and broken. I called them which took 45 minutes for them to answer by the way since you have to go through all the annoying robot bull crap that has nothing to do with why you call so they hang up on you 20 times. The lost and found manger person told me that “it was broken when they boxed it.” I said “it wasn’t I sent you a photo of what it looked like the day I left.” I should have also said “why would I pay $30 for a broke. Toaster?” He told me they would refund me $30. Well it has been 5 days so where is my $30? How about I get $75 instead, since you broke my toaster and I’m now out $75! Please just refund me money for shipping and toaster cost so I can buy a new one. Picture of my toaster the day I left (not great quality since it was taken for a video) & photos of the toaster I received.
Be the first to ReplyPricey, but well worth the money
This place is so much fun. A bit pricey but water park passes are included as well as several activities throughout the day. There is a free activity every hour from 8 am to 9 pm. I highly recommend the yoga, the dance party, and storytime for younger kids. There are several food choices inside the lodge. However, to cut costs bring food from home. Most rooms have fridge and microwave. I usually have a crockpot with me as well. There are plenty of activities in the Waterpark for all ages. Our second visit and I'm planning a third!!
Be the first to ReplyGood Fun, but Misleading Pricing and No Orientation
Came for two nights for Spring Break 2023. We had a great time. Everything was expensive (as expected). Here’s why we only gave them 2 stars… 1) Prepaid Breakfast - We “prepaid to save” on breakfast when we booked our room. Once we were on site, we learned that the savings were based on the adult price. We actually paid $4 more per kid per breakfast. No problem…until I asked for a price adjustment for the difference. I was informed by the manager that there was nothing she could do. No price adjustment, no credit toward other activities, Nada. Shocking since we probably would have accepted a free round of bowling, which costs them next to nothing. Then she added insult to injury by saying my kids (6, 9) were close to the age that they’d pay the adult amount (over 10). By that math my 6 year old was closer to the age where he should be free (under 4)! 2) Poor Orientation - It was our first stay and there was no explanation of how anything worked. I was lucky a friend told me about the free wolf ears, because no one on staff would have mentioned it. What are the hours of the activities? Where are things located? Is there a map? What inner tube color do you need for each water slide? Why are there set tube colors?! We figured things out, but our initial stay was confusing when it didn’t need to be.

We go about once a year my partner and I. It's a nice little getaway, but I have noticed they are increasing prices tenfold. It is extremely expensive to eat there and it appears there is always some kind of issue or problem when we go. This past time a restaurant closed earlier than their scheduled time. If this is going to be something let your guests know, and when someone complains don't get upset, it's not our fault. We decided that unless we take our nieces or nephews, we will not go again. We will go somewhere more grown up and somewhere that has more like Kalhari resorts.
Be the first to ReplyOvercrowded and overpriced
My son and I have never been to the Great Wolf Lodge. His 9th bday was on February 17th, and I thought why not?! I invited his best friend with us. For 1 adult and 2 small kids I spent 1700$…just for the room!!! Which has 1 king size bed and a full size couch pull out. The pull out mattress is just horrible. Stained and probably 10 years Old. I’ve spent 300$ on food and arcade games. By the time I leave tomorrow we are looking at 2100 or more. The water park is fun but extremely over crowded. The staff seems friendly, but mista of the other guests are just rude. They allow their children to run and scream through the halls, bang on the walls, and terrorize the other children. These parents are most likely at the bars while their children run a muck. The room above me is full of teenagers and they have been running through the halls hitting walls and doors, while others are in the room jumping off the furniture. It’s not worth the money. I knew it would be crowded and loud, but for the price it’s way to crowded and way too loud at midnight. I do not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFire Place Jacuzzi Tub Suite
We had an absolute blast on our stay! Every single staff member was amazing and super helpful from the minute we got there. The room was nice. We like to get this suite because we can dry things quickly in front of the fire place!! I did notice lots of hairs in the pillows on the king bed making me wonder… The pull out bed in 1042 is terribly lumpy. This needs to be addressed and the plug to the jacuzzi tub had obviously been broken. Needs some updating and repairs there. The Loose Moose breakfast was just phenomenal both days! Would definitely recommend! The water park was very clean for a water park. The lady who holds the door for the park w short brown hair who howels deserves a raise. She made a big impact on our stay. She even found my sons shoe he lost. I do wonder why parents can not go down the small slides w their child… it’s not a safety issue, so I don’t get it. Some kids won’t go down and want mommy to go. And if you are a single parent, there is no one at the bottom to catch the child since you can’t go with them. This needs to be looked into. We didn’t do any of the events or activities, but we walked all the floors and the Magi Quest stuff is so cool! We will do that when my son os old enough for sure!! The steak house there was great! Helpful friendly staff and great food. Grizzly Ron’s is a nice treat for a time out. I got the tiki refillable cup. A small discount for bringing it back would be nice. I reused mine the whole trip. This brings me to the gift shop, which was out greatest disappointment. I was there in 2015, and it was so nice. Lots of stuff for all ages! I have a cool snow globe and other items from there. I have a cool white hoodie w blue lettering and rhinestones and wanted another one. Nothing like that now. Slim pickings for adults or toddlers size 3T-5T. There were NO shirts available for boy toddlers in those sizes except the birthday tees! We asked. Nothing at all. You would think there are lots of kids that age going there. Makes no sense. Very disappointing as I had hoped to get my son and I coordinating shirts or hoodies. Some of us don’t mind the prices and wanted to buy stuff to remember our trip. Please consider more inventory for this store. We are already planning our next trip!!
Be the first to ReplyChoose your room/floor wisely!
My family and I visited the lodge on a Monday to Wednesday. The waterpark was actually very nice. A good amount of things to entertain small kids as well as adults. Nice size arcade with lots of games as well. The staff was plentiful and attentive. The rooms were large and clean, but nothing special. The bathrooms could use some more hooks or racks for towels though. This is where things take a turn though. I realize that this is a place for kids, but there was an inordinate amount of noise during what should have been the "quiet" hours. We had a first floor room, and I don't know if it was because the ceilings were tall or if there was not enough insulation between floors, but you could hear every footstep, every couch, every sneeze, every fart, every microwave ding, absolutely everything from the room above us. After texting the support number for the lodge, and no change in noise, we eventually went to the front desk and asked for a room change. We weren't offered one on a different floor, but we did get one away from the people who were making us miserable. If you plan on staying here, I suggest you get a room on the top, 4th floor. You won't have any people above you and can rest easily. Further, if you happen to be a vegetarian, like I am, be prepared for a limited amount food you can eat. None of the salads or sandwiches in the market were vegetarian friendly. There was cheese pizza at the pizza parlor and a mediterranean wrap at the Lodge Grill, and of course snack foods, but that's it.
Be the first to ReplyFamily Trip to Kings Island
We stayed here in April 2022 and October 2022. We love this location because it’s a short 8 minute walk to Kings Island! The water park is perfect for my young children (3 year old and 1 year old). We love that Dunkin Donuts is located in the hotel! We definitely took advantage of this. You can charge everything to the room with your wristband and then pay at check-out. This was nice to not have to deal with carrying cash or your card around! There were a few cons. Both times we stayed here, it seemed that the room above us were very noisey!! I am aware that this is a family resort and that it would be noisey, but it was honestly all night long both times we stayed. During our first trip, we stayed in a fireplace room with a balcony and everything with the room was great! During the second trip we stayed on the ground floor and we had a fireplace and jacuzzi. I was very disappointed to find that our fireplace did not work. We called the front desk and maintenance tried to fix it but they could not. They gave us 2 free meals at the breakfast buffet to compensate the price we had paid for the room. Overall, we enjoyed our time! I don’t get bothered by things very easily. We do plan on staying here again in April 2023 for our next Kings Island trip!

Stayed over Thanksgiving weekend. Stayed in a camping themed suite with bunk bed for the kids. Suite was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. Beds comfortable, except the day bed for the kids in the bunk area, was a little hard they said. Room had a fireplace and small balcony. The waterpark was fun, lots to do for all ages from littles to teens. The kids loved the wave pool. Water temp was nice. Lifeguards were attentive. Good customer service all around. Only complaint would be the hot tub area, they need to control that a little more with making sure kids are with a parent like they are supposed to be. Otherwise it was not overly crowded, didn't have long wait for slides. Ate Thanksgiving buffet at the on site restaurant, was pretty good. Overall lots of fun, great family time. Would definitely return.

Took our son and his friend for his 12th birthday. The boys had so much fun. Our room was nice and clean, the water park was fun, the staff was friendly. the food and drinks were good. Only con is everything is over priced
Be the first to ReplyDirty and overpriced
My mom spent a large amount of money to take our whole family to great wolf this past weekend (9 grandkids total). This place is a joke for the amount of money spent to stay, not to mention it is completely unsanitary. The locker rooms are no equipped for guests to change and enter the water park prior to their room being clean. They were small and crowded and had no actual designated changing area. While this is inconvenient and disappointing, the real problem was how dirty the bathrooms and water park are. Upon entering the restroom there was feces smeared on the wall, used bloody tampons on the floor and the floor was soaked with dirt, toilet paper and hair. The water park is small for the amount of guests causing an overcrowded, i enjoyable environment. The water park was dirty and I was extremely uncomfortable allowing my children to swim and would not let them enter the hot tubs at all because of how unsanitary everything was. Our room was advertised as a deluxe suite but this is false advertising. While my mother paid for what she thought was a suite it is just two adjoined rooms. The rooms were outdated and gnats were everywhere. The food in the resort was extremely overpriced and quality was poor. I will not go back and would advise you to not waste your money at this place.
