Gusto 101 Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Yummy pasta (fungi), kale salad, and 1oz wine.
Can't go wrong :) would appreciate if music isn't as loud to not need to yell but overall a good vibe.
Did Uber eats and service was quick and had in an hour.
The pizza was amazing and 10/10 highly recommend. Very flavorful and enjoyed every bite. The pasta was ok didn't love but great amount of mushrooms and pasta shape was fun
Love the food, service and vibe here.
Everything tastes great and are prepared beautifully. My favourite dishes are the kale salad, mushroom, pasta, fresh, focaccia, and meatballs. The servers are fantastic as they're able to guide you through the menu. Be sure to make reservations as it can be rather difficult to get a table if you're just walking in...especially if you're a larger group.
Making the actual takeout order was a complete and total
Making the actual takeout order was a complete and total bust: had to show up in person to make the take out order. Their IT dept should address that. The mushroom pasta, however, was very delicious. The pomodoro dish was standard fare, but good for little kids.
Food is really good.
Love the vibe inside but tables are pretty close together. Servers are super nice, drinks are ok but nothing special.

Finally got the chance to visit this restaurant, and it was quite different from what I expected. The interior had more of a bustling dining hall vibe rather than the cozy, intimate atmosphere I had imagined. It leaned towards a rustic industrial style rather than the traditional Italian aesthetic. We tried their legendary Mafalde ai Funghi, which was overall creamy. While the Mafalde was slightly chewy, the combination of oyster mushrooms and truffle cream elevated the taste. The Diavola Pizza was great - authentic Italian pizza with generous toppings and amazing dough. Service was satisfactory. Despite the growing number of great Italian restaurants in Toronto, Gusto 101 manages to hold its ground with consistent quality and reputation. If you're seeking a taste of Italy in Toronto, can consider giving this place a try. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 4/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - NA/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 3.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 3.5/5 OVERALL - 3.75

I wanted to try this place for a while for one reason that viral pasta. I ordered the malfade Al Funghi, I see everyone's instagram page with this pasta. The negative I would say you're charging 30 bucks for a small portion of pasta, but if it's good it's good. I waited less than 20 mins which isn't bad, and this place is ten times better than Sugo, it was packed and the pasta was aldente and the sauce was so good. It melts in your mouth, I want that recipe in that sauce that sauce is fire, their pizzas looked really good but it was over my budget for the day. The pasta was soft sauce was creamy, you just wanted to eat more of it and I think it lives up to the hype. I think one of the best pastas I had. I can see people come here maybe ona special occasion but that's crazy your charging 30 bucks for a pasta.
We booked a table ahead of time considering the crowd.
The first thing we were told was that we needed to leave in 1.5 hours! This was our first time in Gusto 101 and Toronto. So, we thought okay, maybe it's a Toronto thing. Next, they sent us to a table upstairs where you have to take two flights of stairs. We brought our elderly mother with us, and there was no handicap accessibility. Our guess is that the restaurant does not encourage anyone who might have trouble taking the stairs to eat. Our waitress was kind enough when we told her that we were told to eat and leave within 1.5 hours. Food was good, nothing extravagant that you would not find in any Italian restaurant. It was extremely crowded and the ambience was loud. The next issue was the restroom- they're in the basement. And, yes, you need to take 3 flights down to get to the restrooms. At that point, mom said let me just go back to the hotel. It was embarrassing and painful to see her suffer through the dinner. The only saving grace was that we got to experience the much hyped tiramisu. I would never recommend this place if you are traveling with your elderly family member or anyone handicapped.
Poor service and extremely loud
Went here for a friend’s birthday. The upstairs section of the restaurant was so loud we couldn’t hear one another speak. I ordered the vegan risotto. The rice was hard and the dish was way too salty. I couldn’t eat it. I complained to the server and he apologized yet still charged me for the meal I didn’t eat. Poor service and extremely loud atmosphere. I would not recommend this restaurant.
I went here for happy hour (3-5pm) on weekdays.
Wine was $3 and lager was $5, and pizza and pasta was 1/2 off (excluding the lasagna). I also got the Brussel sprouts for $7. There are several other small plate items that are discounted. Overall, service was great and food was decent. Of course, I tried the funghi pasta and it was delicious although a bit heavy. There is a mild truffle flavor to the pasta. Same goes for the Brussel sprouts and pepperoni pizza - a bit on the greasy side but to be expected and still taste great. The crust on the pizza was also a bit soggy. Wine and lager was surprisingly good - light and easy to drink. Overall, food was great with great value (during happy hour) although I'm not too sure if I'd pay regular prices here.
Upon arrival, the hostess at the door couldn't find my reso
Upon arrival, the hostess at the door couldn't find my reso so I had to dig it up on my phone after her search took about 10mn to then be told to head upstairs where the next host greeted me only to have to explain and show my reservation again on my phone. He immediately told me I have exactly one hour and thirty minutes to dine. Seriously, what is with Toronto restaurants telling you off the bat how long you're "allowed" to dine, drink and converse with your group? It's so off-putting and unwelcoming right off the bat. As someone who has worked in hospitality for many years, I have never seen restaurants so desperately wanting to turnover as many tables as possible opposed to actually ensuring each and every guest has a relaxed and wonderful experience from start to finish. There were three of us that rarely see each other in person, we had a lot to catch up on, it was special to get out for a meal and it felt ruined to have the manager come over while we were still eating our dessert to tell us to move since they needed the table. Unbelievable. Our server was great throughout but then of course she disappeared when management took over to eject us. The greeting upon arrival right up until you leave a restaurant (the experience doesn't end when the bill arrives) is key to a lasting, and positive impression a guest will have when dining at an establishment. We were all turned off and won't return. It also leads to us sharing the experience with others that will consider other, less-pressured options. I ate the Malfalde al Funghi pasta as my main which was decent, yet it kept me up in horrible pains all night like the last time I ate at Gusto which seems to be more than a coincidence. Overall impression is negative due to their policies and rudeness, there are many other great Italian restaurants in the city, and let's be honest, Italian is pretty standard as far as eating out goes.
OMG Mafalde Ai Funghi (Mushroom Pasta)
Small little hole in the wall on a side street. Best ever mushroom pasta! Need to eat this before your time is up. the Purple Kale Cesar fantastic and you MUST try the Brussels which are perfectly roasted and tossed in balsamic vinegar.
Good but noisy
This place seems popular with young people and is therefore noisy. The map is restricted. The dishes offered are decent, especially the pasta with mushrooms and truffle cream. Prices are high for this type of restaurant. $17 for a spritz! The staff is attentive and helpful which saves the day.
Visited it after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, and it didn't disappoint
Making a reservation through Open Table to visit Gusto 101 was easy. The restaurant is in a great Downtown location, close to public transportation, and offers indoor and outdoor seating. I'm unsure of the exact seating capacity, but it felt spacious enough to comfortably accommodate over 50 people, ensuring ample space for everyone. This cozy restaurant is suitable for special occasions, casual dining and business meetings. The staff is friendly and attentive. I was promptly welcomed and escorted to my table. The food arrived shortly after placing the order. The menu has plenty of options to choose from without being overwhelming. The food was well prepared, fresh and flavourful. I got the bufala e bresaola pizza from the brunch menu, which had an excellent presentation. It was delicious, thin-crusted, not greasy and just the perfect size for one person. I sat outdoors for an early lunch and could enjoy my meal without hearing much noise from the street. Overall, the restaurant was clean. Even the washrooms smelled good. In conclusion, my experience at Gusto 101 left a positive impression. I recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy Italian food.
Good Food. AWFUL service.
Unfortunately I can not give this restaurant more than a 2 star rating. My family and I were visiting Toronto this past July weekend and this Italian restaurant came up with good location and good reviews on google so we decided to go with it. When we arrived we were told only the patio was open as inside didn’t open until 5pm. It was 4:30pm so we asked the host again if we could just be seated and he said no. We walked around and came back then got seated in their lovely upstairs greenhouse type of area. The hostess upstairs told us guests have a maximum 1.5 hour sitting time limit. I have NEVER heard of such a thing? Rushing guests on purpose?? There are no physical menus only online and the menu is VERY limited. 4 pastas, 4 pizzas, 1 burger and a few salads for appetizers. We ordered a pizza to share and 3 out of the 4 pasta options (we were 3 people). We were happy about doing this as the pasta portion was quiet small. I will say food quality was excellent and the food was brought quickly. The dishes were delicious. Our server on the other hand is WHY this restaurant lost its star rating from me. She would come clean our table while we were still eating. When we expressed to her we felt rushed and we felt that this was quiet rude she said that she’s just “following management ruling”. We felt extremely rushed overall as we felt like the server was just waiting for us to leave. She also didn’t seem sorry or apologistick at all. Paying $150 for a meal you definitely shouldn’t be feeling rushed. Food was a solid 8/10 but service quiet AWFUL. Fix your service and we might be back. We considered ordering dessert at first but because of her behaviour we didn’t. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to any tourist, maybe a girls night out or for drinks where service and food isn’t your priority.
Great Restaurant, Great Staff
Great Italian restaurant, and certainly popular, as it was pretty much packed by 6pm. Not a huge selection, but what they have runs the gamut of sauces. I had the mushroom past, with a cream sauce, which was brilliant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We sat on the top floor, which is exposed and it was rather hot up there. That would be the only negative. It's priced very reasonably for Toronto. Definitely a place to return to.
Great Italian, Great patio. In a lively neighbourhood.
We were in Toronto visiting family and this night was to be with our nephew, his girlfriend and her parents. A party of 6, they recommended Gusto 101 and reserved us a table. It's in the Portland district of Toronto. Between Adelaide and King street near Bathurst, this old industrial area is a hive of restaurants and bars and the area is lively! Gusto 101 is in the middle of all of this. Parking underground one block away was easy and plentiful. We were greeted nicely at the front and directed to the upstairs outdoor patio. This place was great. It was a perfect night for a patio but this one had a retractable clear roof so that if it rained, you could still be 'outside'. Our server was terrific and very patient with us. We enjoyed Rose and Red wine, shared appetizers of grilled Octopus, Focaccia bread, grilled vegetables and more. We shared two pasta dishes and two pizza's and finished it off with Tiramisu and another dessert, and decaf latte's. great company, great food, great restaurant and a great neighbourhood...this was an experience I desire to repeat again in a return trip to Toronto

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
