Had a wonderful experience at Home Team.
Amazing barbecue and the service by Heather was phenomenal, we will be back solely for her (and the chopped brisket). It was the perfect way to spend my birthday! Thanks for the fun convo and great service Heather!

This is the best barbecue all time, I had the tray both times, and so worth it, I have travelled more of the country and this barbecue tops anything I have eaten, truly perfect barbecue.

The food was absolutely delicious! The barbecue was Ah-mazing with a variety of sauces. The service was attentive to our presenting needs and the servers were friendly. A big fan of the Tator Tots! ;) Also, the staff helped find a perfect option when one of the sides was missing. The space was open with indoor and outdoor seating!
Be the first to ReplyWent on a weekend and the it was pretty busy.
The wait time was 30-45 minutes for 2 people. First time eating here and the food was great. The Brisket was a little on the fatty side but other than that everything was delicious. The atmosphere was great. We sat outside next to a warmer which was needed. It was a little chilly out. We definitely enjoyed everything.

I got some of everything, and everything was good. We will go back again next time we are in town.

I came here with a large group of coworkers and sat out back in the covered patio so we could accommodate the large group. We all waited for my wife and family to come in but ordered some appetizers for the table and a round of drinks. Service was great and the food was delicious. The drinks were also very good! They have several cocktails, beers and wines. There's even a couple of frozen drinks to choose from. If it weren't so cold, I would have enjoyed the Gamechanger but the same that the server brought out gave me a brain freeze so I opted for something else. It would definitely have been refreshing on a hot southern day though! For my meal, I chose the chopped brisket because they were out of the regular brisket but it was still very good. The roll that came with it was also very good; it was a nice sweet roll to complement the well seasoned pork. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for some grub and some libations to wash it down!
Be the first to ReplyLast night I met a large party for dinner.
We were seated in the covered (and closed in patio) out back and the temperature was perfect. Our server was great and the food/drinks came out quickly. Unfortunately some of the people that ordered didn't quite get what they wanted because the brisket was out, then one person had to switch from the chopped brisket because there was only enough for X amount of dishes. It wasn't a biggie though so when the manager came out to apologize, someone gladly switched. Being vegan, as other reviews mentioned, there isn't much to choose from. You have the Green Salad, or, well, the Green Salad add Black Beans lol. Most of the sides are made with pork and our server made sure we were aware that the tater tots are cooked in a shared fryer. It was nice that she added the option for black beans to my salad because it was very plain. Spicy as heck, but literally just spring mix, some shaved something or other and fresh jalapeรฑos with wayyyyy too much dressing and a side of garlic toast (which I'm assuming isn't vegan considering butter and possibly a cheese topping). So, needless to say, I didn't eat much and left quite hungry but still had a great time. Afterall, you don't go to a Southern BBQ joint for the vegan options lol
Be the first to ReplyThe fried ribs were amazing.
The service was incredible. The vibe was right. It was a great experience for my group and me.

Food was descent but service was incredibly awful!! One of the employees walked by and literally yelled in my ear so she could get to her table in a very unprofessional way. Wouldn't go again

Be the first to ReplyHad such a fun time at Home Team.
We came on a Saturday night with football so It was a bit of a zoo, but great energy. We had a party of 7, so It was about a 90 min wait. We went next door to Lewis BBQ to have a few beers while we waited. Once we sat down, service was great. Waitress was super responsive and food was pretty quick. The wings were absolutely phenomenal and I cannot recommend enough. The rest of us got sandwich's and burgers which were great too, but we all couldn't get over how great the wings were. Definitely loud and lively on game day so keep in mind depending on the vibe you're going for

.The best place this side of Charleston to watch your HOME TEAM play...regardless of the sport.Great food. Fun times. And staff playing along with the joke of giving them a hard time. But hey its all in fun. My favorite part? There's a club rewards system: $10 per every 100pts. Ps the pic you see attached..Oh that's just their succulent fall off the bone fried ribs appetizer...I dare you to try it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for a quick late night bite! Their after hours menu
Great for a quick late night bite! Their after hours menu between 10 and 12 at the downtown location was perfect for just a quick something after a festival. The mac and cheese was ooey gooey delicious! And the pulled pork was fabulous. I recently found their hot barbecue sauce is one of my new favorites in the Charleston area. Will be back again soon for another late night bite!

Frozen coffee drink was tasty but very heavy on the alcohol flavor. Our server was sweet. Food was good. Greens were very good. Pork rinds and pimento cheese was probably my favorite part of the meal!

I was at this Home Team location last night with a large group of about 15 for a friend's birthday celebration. Our server was fantastic, the food was great as always, but there was one particular employee who made the evening quite unpleasant. I believe her name is Callie. I accompanied the birthday girl to the restroom because she was not feeling so well. I went into the stall with her to be there to help her if she needed it. Callie came into the bathroom yelling "There should only be one person in a stall!" and proceeded to aggressively pound on the door of our stall saying "I know there are two of you in there! One of you needs to get out right now!" If this truly is policy, it is abelist - there are people who need assistance in the restroom and to refuse this to customers is unnecessary and exclusionary. There was no mess at all in the restroom, and we came out of the stall. Callie continued with a condescending, "Ma'am were you over-served?" Followed by "You need to leave right now. I'm going to get someone to make sure you leave." She then had my friend followed out of the establishment by a male employee. Though I understand Callie wanting an over-served customer to leave, she handled this situation very poorly and boisterously in a way that unnecessarily embarrassed my friend on her birthday in front of the entire establishment. Had Callie asked her if she was okay, if she wasn't feeling well, etc, without yelling and making a scene and then approached me (who was fully sober) and said something to the effect of, "I think your friend has been over-served. When she is feeling okay, could you please take her home," I would have fully understood and respected her approach. Having been a bartender myself, this is how I (or any of my old co-workers) would have handled the situation. Callie instead only escalated the situation and belittled my friend in an incredibly embarrassing way. I was very shocked by her lack of candor and professionalism, and will avoid this Home Team location in the future. We love Home Team, and our group frequents it regularly (and spends a lot of money here!), but we will be sticking with the Sullivan's Island location where all of the employees are professional and kind.
Be the first to ReplyWill forever be one of my favorite spots in Charleston.
Everything was delicious! We got a double order of the Mac and cheese bites because they were just that good!
Be the first to ReplyMy family and I have been eating the nachos since 2011.
Today, they may have looked similar, but they tasted akin to cardboard with a bit of spice on the chips. The meat, well, I took a bite and had to spit it in my napkin. The service was mediocre at best. The price has doubled, but the quality has dropped significantly. So sad, but we won't be back.

Very fun game day atmosphere and always packed on Saturday's. My two favorite things here are the Tator tots and the gamechanger frozen drink. Both are absolutely delicious! The sauce that comes with the tots is to die for and the tots have always been perfectly crispy and delicious! I hear mixed reviews about everything else but 12/10 tots!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good, so is atmosphere.
Love the frozen Irish coffee, so yummy. Tons of TVs for all your sports needs. BBQ is great, not too smoky, and tender as can be. Love coming to the West Ashley spot!

I ordered practically all of the sides here & was a little disappointed that they place was too crowded for me to enjoy my dishes at the restaurant. This is a nice entertainment vibe spot but make a reservation or get there early. I ordered the macaroni & cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, hash & rice along w a chopped brisket taco. My favorite was the taco, hash & mac & cheese...the beans didn't look like they came out of a can but they surely taste basic enough to have. The coleslaw wasn't mayo based so that was not exciting. I was able to taste all of their condiments though they're not thick, I'd definitely go back to try other dishes.

I moved away from Charleston a few years back, but every time I've gone back to visit, Home Team is number 1 on my list of places to go back to. Big, open, and fun atmosphere. Large bar with indoor and outdoor space. Good for if you have a large group. Went this past weekend, for my entree I got the Home Team Salad with smoked turkey-- nothing to write home about. The wings and nachos with chicken that we got as apps were the stars of the night. Pro tip: a game changer with a spiced rum floater is worth it!

If I'm in the south I have to try plenty of bbq, and a bartender told me to try this joint! We wanted to hit multiple local places so my bride and I split a 2 meat plate, and opted for the jalapeรฑo sausage and pulled pork. The sausage was crispy but could have been a bit more spicy. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned...barely needed the sauce(which we liked anyway!) for sides we chose the baked beans (Tangy and rich goodness) and the Mac & cheese(fell a bit flat but really creamy) and of course the sweet tea was refreshing!Ambiance is back woods picnic, service felt a bit rushed, and prices are in line with expectation.Loved the food and drink, and if we are back in town we will definitely stop in..this joint makes the list!
